My details are

Gemma C, TTC#2, usual cycle length 28-32 days, cd1

Please feel free to add yourself to the list, I would love some company.

Hi girls Had a +ive OPK yesterday but didn't manage to BD till this morning then did another OPK this afternoon & it was -ive. I'm hoping we havn't missed the best time by not be able to bd last night, but did bd for the 3 nights before & will hopfully get another one in tonight just incase. I was reading your comments on when the OPK turn +ive & hoping for the 24-36 time frame
Oh well I guess I'm now on the 2WW which is great timing as we fly back to the UK tomorrow for my father-inlaws Birthday wkend so will be able to enjoy bding for fun & maybe a sneaky glass of wine

I have everything crossed that is all pregnancy signs but sadly for me i do think its AF rearing her ugly head

i am goin to hold off testing and perhaps test monday.. af is due mon or tues so only 1 day early then

good luck for tomorrow suzi i shall check here to see your result

when are you going to test olivo? do you think if we are gettin pains then it would make a test show positive??

hi newhere!! good luck trying

NewhereHelp · 19/11/2008 15:53

Thank you, I must admit, it's all quite exciting and positive if not a little confusing

olivo · 19/11/2008 15:47

good luck suzi, and be sure to let us know!

SuziBhoy · 19/11/2008 15:46

thanks olivo, i too am clutching at straws but i really think its my AF on its way.. boo!

will be testing 2moro tho so hopefully i get the ball (or should i say bean) rolling.

hi newherehelp, welcome and happy TTC [smile}

bubblebell1 - fingers crossed for you. when are you ready to test?

olivo · 19/11/2008 15:44

fingers crossed for you that they might be impantation pains then, it'd be about the right time. I'm in a similar position, but am now wondering if the trips to the loo and the pains may be a uti for me?! am off to buy some cranberry just in case!

bubblebell1 · 19/11/2008 15:30

olivo i am 9 or 10 days past ov. im not 100 % sure as i didnt use test sticks.

FF changed the date af is due too. am gettin confused! doesnt take much

NewhereHelp · 19/11/2008 15:27

I am then TTC#3, usual cycle 28 days, CD3. I have 2 teenage DS's (I think I worked the code out there)- Month 3 of TTC with new partner - be gentle with me too, all new to me this stuff :-)

olivo · 19/11/2008 15:07

bubble - if you dont mind me asking, how many dpo do you think you are? could well be implantation.

olivo · 19/11/2008 15:06

CD is cycle day, New.
Implantation happens usually around 7 to 10 days i think, Suzi. I'm kind of hoping that might be what is causing my pains.

pinkie, i'm first cycle off the pill so dont know much about my cycles. Fertility friend has shifted my ov and said I'm now 10DPO so maybe the pains I'm getting are AF approaching. Can a LP be longer than 14 days? i know it can be shorter.

NewhereHelp · 19/11/2008 14:27

Can someone translate?

What is cd? TTC I'm guessing trying to conceive?

SuziBhoy · 19/11/2008 13:54

hi all, im well impressed with all the BDing thats going on

how long after you concieve does implantation take place? In other words im just wondering if what im feeling is implantation pains, but not sure if its too early for that.... fingers crossed

pinkie08 · 19/11/2008 13:21

Olivo keep strong as too early to test yet, how long is your cycle usually.

Bubble, those pains could be implantation pains so keep positive.

Not sure how i feel today, I got an ovary that is def. awake and saying hello since yesterday evening but a -ive on the opk, didnt go +ive til cd14 last month and only cd12 today so not too worried. Am planning on bding loads aswell just incase duff tests

olivo · 19/11/2008 12:00

morning! i agree with the opk advice that the [ositive shows a LH surge abnd ov will happen within 24-36 hrs late, so yuo shoul still catch it if yuo bd after the positive opk.
welcome specialoffer, hope this is a lucky month for you as well.

bubble, sorry to hear you're feeling wobbly.

LJ - repsect for all the bding!!

Issy, your work situation sounds tricky, I don't envy you there. hope it works out for you.

i have been feeling a bit weird today but there's no way i could have symptoms at 10 DP\o, is there? nausea and weeing a lot! I hate the way your body plays tricks like that.fertility friend says i shouldnt test till 29th if AF hasnt arrived but I can't wait that long.

bubblebell1 · 19/11/2008 09:37

Hi everyone!

How are you all doing? well im cd 25 and im still waiting for af or that elusive BFP

i dont 'feel' pregnant and im still having awful pains in my stomach. last night they were shooting down my legs and this morning its just in 1 side of my lower abdomen. ive also got a headache that i cant shift and need the loo every 5 mins. tbh i feel really emotional. AF must be closer than i thought. but these pains are worrying me.

god this is just pure torture.

xxxx
hope you all feel better than me.

pinkie08 · 19/11/2008 08:56

Warmseabreeze Hi, firstly its not too late OPKs work on the basis that the LH Surge comes before ovulation, but get to it tonight, tomorrow and the next day, as much as possible.

Here is the Sperm meets egg plan it goes into more detail about it.

Hope that puts your mind at rest.

LJ I think that the LH surge comes before ov and then the progesterone kicks in, so wouldnt be recorded on normal OPKs as surg)e as they looking for LH not progesterone. (i Think thats right You may need to check this, but wouldnt be concerned you had a +ive so go with that and heres to lots of BDing.

HeadFairy · 19/11/2008 07:58

Morning all...

I'm not expert, but I understand (from reading the leaflet in my opk box ) that you will ov 24-36 hours after your LH peak, so if you got a line (or and O or a smiley face or whatever) then you will ov sometime over the next day. That's my understanding anyway.

WarmSeaBreeze · 19/11/2008 07:54

Morning everyone!

Hope the BD'ing is going well

I just got a positive on my ovulation test this morning, but I read on the web somewhere that once you get this it is probably too late, as you have most likely missed the egg???? Is this true???? (please say it isnt true as haven't BD'ed since Monday night)!

LJ29 · 18/11/2008 21:30

Welcome Specialoffer I'm sure you'll find us all a friendly bunch!!

Well ladies I think we have just about completed our BD marathon having clocked up #13 tonight!!! I'm on CD 22 now so think we shlud have caught OV whenever that was.

Re:OPKs - if I have a positive oone day and a negative the next, which day do I actually OV on?

SpecialOffer · 18/11/2008 21:26

Ok, am new to this thread have been on and off mumsnet for a while.

I am TTC#2 and am in the first month of trying. I am on CD22, and my cycle is 28-32 days. I am driving myself crazy wondering and holding off POAS as I know its too early. My ds was a surprise so this ttc is all new to me, so be gentle!!

Issy42 · 18/11/2008 19:12

Hi all and welcome to the new people on the thread.

I got the dreaded temperature drop to well below coverline today so AF will arrive later tonight/tomorrow . Was expecting it after the BFNs though.

VeryKeen - sorry I didn't answer your question very well - was getting confused with questions about maternity pay on July thread. I think as Sunnydale says, if they really want you for the job they won't mind waiting for you, so go for it.

I have a work dilemma. This morning I got copied into an e-mail from my boss saying I should attend a meeting to discuss some staffing issues (problems recruiting fertility nurses). Trouble is the meeting is at the private fertility clinic owned by my employer, which is based in the same hospital as the NHS clinic I attend. My consultant turns out also to be the director of the clinic and would be at the meeting. Luckily for now I'm off the hook as when I declared the conflict of interest to my boss, she informed me that it had just been decided that my team will not get involved at this stage. Trouble is I might have to be further down the line. My next attempt will be my last at IUI, I can't afford IVF and if the next attempt fails I can't bear the thought of having to have meetings at the fertility clinic for the next few months (or longer it takes ages for anything to get decided). The only other person that could have been given the task is off on maternity next month, so I won't be able to get out of it.

BellaHarry · 18/11/2008 19:09

Thank you for being so welcoming! I'm going to check out this 'spermmeetsegg' thing sounds interesting. I'm going to start temping if it doesn't work out this cycle. It's So nice to speak to people about ttc as I won't dare do at work for obvious reasons!

SuziBhoy · 18/11/2008 18:06

hey all, oh this is getting to the exciting stages for those who are testing soon. think my AF is on its way tho, got the cramps and the bad skin to match and the aching back, which i normally get before AF, but theres still hope yet!!

VeryKeenForABean · 18/11/2008 17:35

Thanks so much for all the positive messages!! Hadn't thought of it as being a good thing for ttc headfairy but it's worth a go!!

If it were to all happen at the same time for me, i will try and take a leaf out of your book blue!! I guess even if it happens straight away, you've got a good few months to make the right impression!

Hope all are feeling positive, and bding their socks off!! I am going to try and get to early next week before testing, my ebay parcel hasn't arrived, and stinginess will hold me back for a few days!!

Babydust to all x

HomeintheSun · 18/11/2008 17:28

I've seen ChubbyDick on another thread AF visited her as well.
