Hi wondered if any one else was aiming for an August baby and fancied joining me this month to pass the time. This will be our 3rd cycle of TTC now and im on CD1 but staying positive.

My details are

Gemma C, TTC#2, usual cycle length 28-32 days, cd1

Please feel free to add yourself to the list, I would love some company.

sorry to hear about the AFs arriving. Can'r rememebr who asked but yes, apparently if AF arrives in the evening, yuo count the next day as CD1, that's why I changed mine. i am having a few problems with temping, partly due to my erratic sleeping and being unwell, but I hope as I am doing OPKs and CM spotting as well, i'll still have a chance of hitting my fertile time.
does anyone know if its usual to see a very faint line on an OPK all the time? I know its only considered positive if its as dark or darker than the test line. DO you have some LH in you all the time?

HeadFairy · 28/11/2008 19:24

I was always told that too babybump2b, but both times I've got pg it's been after bding every day for four consecutive days over my fertile period. It's what works for us.

BabyBump2B · 28/11/2008 19:20

Hi Smileycat - that does sound spooky - fingers crossed its the right kind of sign!

I had read that you'll have better luck bd-ing every OTHER day because the numbers and quality improve significantly in 48 hours over 24.

AF hasn't arrived yet - think I'll wait another day before testing just in case she's taking her sweet time!

Hope there are loads of BFPs this weekend!

HeadFairy · 28/11/2008 18:56

I want to find out if LJ's marathon bd'ing worked

RipMacWinkle · 28/11/2008 18:47

Hello all

sorry to hear that af got you aideesmum and 2manychips. I think I also read on another thread that yellowflowers was out for this month (but don't quote me on that)

What about the other girls at the top of the list? beckyjamie, Littlecheese, LJ29 and bexaa or even suzibhoy??

Here's hoping we get some more good news for the weekend.

There still seems like loads of people in front of me in the list - can only mean more BFPs. Right?

HeadFairy · 28/11/2008 17:23

aideesmums and 2manychips

aideesmum · 28/11/2008 16:48

Hi all,

Had a shorter cycle this time, 27 days and AF arrived Monday, boo. So am on CD5 but could still be on for end of August.

Good luck to you all xx

2manychips · 28/11/2008 16:40

Hey girls, so happy for the bfp's-look after yourselves ladies. Did a hpt due to my peculiar af and got a predictable bfn. prob gonna see gp about my v light af's,hope its not to do with my age! Maybe see some of the other bfn's on Sept thread! Fingers crossed for all the girls due to test. x

smileycat · 28/11/2008 16:11

bubble I do my temp so I should know by Sunday if I'm in with a chance as it will drop, might even get a drop tomorrow if she is on her way. If I get a rise on Sat or Sun I'll test on Sun if not I'll hold out till Monday morning after I've taken my temp that way I wont waste a test if it takes a dive downward

They say you shouldn't leave sperm in the sack for more than 10 days or they become pickled & swim in every direction & if you bonk everyday the count will be lower but I think the quality remains the same..its just having the energy to bd for a wk not stop

bubble if you're going to check your cervix next month you need to start at the beginning of the month, when AF is finished so that you know what it feels like at different stages of the month that way you will know when its SHOW Soft High & open thats the time you are most fertile, along with EWMC etc

HeadFairy · 28/11/2008 14:38

I can't do bbt measuring as I do shift work. I know it's possible if you do shift work, but it's just too much faff.. I'm so lazy

I don't know if sex every day lowers the quality of sperm, I know the sperm count is slightly lowered, but I've always worked on the assumption that they're all nice and fresh, so what they lack in numbers they make up for in enthusiasm

bubblebell1 · 28/11/2008 13:15

thanks head... yeah.. i just want a baby dont care if its pink or blue.

i know when i concieved both my ds' that i just had sex everyday until i realised i felt pregnant and i was. didnt know you could chart your bbt and such like. im too tired to do that now and dh has a different job so he is working more.

does having sex everyday lower the quality of the sperm??

so many questions sorry

HeadFairy · 28/11/2008 13:09

I always thought if you bd before ov you're more likely to have a boy. Oh it's all so unscientific, who knows? I'll take what I'm given

I keep trying to think what happened with ds... I know the last cd1 was 15th December, and I always assumed I ov'd on cd 15, I had very strong implantation pains on New Years Eve, not easy to forget as my sister and I were getting really excited. So that means I ov'd on Dec 29th, and I know for a fact that we bd'd on Boxing day, 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th. I'm not sure what to make of that, whether it's better to get most of your bd'ing in before you ov, 'twas really handy it all happening over Christmas and New Year cos I remembered it all (didn't bd on Christmas day, far to full of turkey, didn't bd on New Years Eve as was really tired and didn't get to bed until 4am - stayed up late chatting to sis), if we don't get lucky this month, could well repeat the experience next month. I think it was easier to bd loads over Christmas as we were both off work and feeling relaxed and happy.

As for cd1... I always assume if full flow starts after 6pm then the next day is cd1, even if you've had some spotting before. CD1 should be the first full day of full flow.

bubblebell1 · 28/11/2008 12:59

o i c! its def worth a go next month. i cocked up my days this month so not a chance for me. i hope you got lucky tho. i have read up on natural methods of gender selection and if you bd up to the day before you ov u are more likely to have a girl.so you could still get a BFP in 2ws

do you know if AF starts in the day or afternoon or evening is that cd1 or is the next day cd1?

HeadFairy · 28/11/2008 12:47

I'm no expert, I was browsing ff last night. When you're at your most fertile, ie the days before you ov and the day you ov, your cervix goes soft and raises up so you can hardly reach it. This is to allow sperm through. Once you have passed your fertile window it hardens and drops back down again. I don't think you can tell if af is on its way, or you're pg or anything else, but it is useful for identifying your fertile period if you're lacking any other signs.

bubblebell1 · 28/11/2008 12:43

head wow! how can you tell where you are in your cycle by feeling your cervix could i tell if af was due by having a feel?... im intrigued

HeadFairy · 28/11/2008 12:28

Gah, just had a feel about while in the loo, cervix feels like it's hardening and dropping back down. Yesterday I practically had to have my arm up my fanjo to reach it Didn't want to have to be on the 2ww just yet... oh well, so it begins.....

HeadFairy · 28/11/2008 11:16

ooooh spooky smileycat... it's gotta be a good omen. Fingers crossed eh? I think I'll tell dh he'd better step up tonight or else I'm still getting odd little pains, but they're more central now so perhaps I've ov'd now. Yesterday and in the early hours this morning (while I was up waiting for dh and worrying myself sick) they were definitely to one side. I'm hoping that's the case in which case I should should be lucky. We did bd on cd 13 and 14, with those ov pains yesterday (cd15) and perhaps I ov'd late on cd15 early on cd16, so if we bd tonight (cd 16) I might be in with a chance.

It's so silly, cos i know you shouldn't set yourself deadlines, but if we don't catch it this month, but do next month then the due date will be almost exactly ds' birthday. I can't work out if that would be sod's law, or if that would be rather cute, two brothers (don't know why, I'm convinced I'd have another boy) with birthdays in the same week. It would make remembering them easy

bubblebell1 · 28/11/2008 10:53

OMG smiley!

can you test to find out?? how long do you have to wait before you can test ? wouldnt it be wierd if u were.

i went to a medium... out of curiosity. she said i would have no trouble concieving and would have as many children as i liked.... doesnt feel like no trouble i can tell you

smileycat · 28/11/2008 10:42

I'm not religous or anything really in that way but I real spooky thing just happened to me. Last night I was laid in bed & had a few things drifting through my mind & I whispered a sort message to anyone out there if it was possible I'd love a sign to tell me if I'm pg or not, like I say I'm not religous but like many people wonder if anything is up/around us.
Well I was watching a program on tv & switched over when it finished & just caught the end of another program & it finished with the lines (girl with the same name as me) did you know you were pg & she said no & they said well we just did a test for you & its +ive
I nearly fell off the chair...what do you think????spooky hay

Sans04 · 28/11/2008 10:14

Hello
sorry evei that you feel down, but hopfully you'll get through juat take it easy.
I am out as af arrived this afternoon, hope i am the last one and the bloody beatch won't visit anyone elss on this thread and baby dust to all of you.

smileycat · 28/11/2008 10:01

headfairy I've been looking through past charts of FF for the ones that got a BFP to see when they BD'd to see if mine was timed right & some do time it to the day but others BD upto 4 days before OV & still got pg & didn't bd again during OV, so there is still hope even if you miss the 'so called window'
We BD'd when I thought I OV'd according to my OPK & OV pains but took a night off the next night as my DH was also out & thats the day FF put me down as OVing ????, we did it twice the next day but that was probably too late, I'm hoping that we caught it from my dates..fingers crossed I'll know more in 3 days..good luck to you tonight

girlwithacurl · 28/11/2008 09:46

You might as well headfairy if you don't you will just think back and wonder! we can just do our best, and try our hardest.
evie so sorry... its rubbish. This rollercoaster of ttc can be really tough. Every month I think, this is going to be the one, and then every month it isn't. It is so hard being patient and trying to stay positive, especially as loads of people around me seem to PG at the drop of a hat.
Good luck to everyone BD'ing, 2ww'ing etc etc...

HeadFairy · 28/11/2008 09:07

Morning everyone, sorry to hear about your temp drop evie. I hope it was just cos your thermometer's broken

Well done at waiting bubblebell, keep it up!

smileycat, it's interesting ff said you were ov'ing the day after those pains. I've had pains since yesterday lunchtime, they're not as strong this morning, but still there. I'm desperately trying to work out when the blazes I have/will ov.

DH went out to an awards ceremony last night and we were supposed to fit a quickie in before work this morning but there's no chance of that, he's unconscious and stinking of booze (and puke, lovely!) Do you think it's worth trying tonight seeing as I'm still feeling what I think are ov pains, allbeit slightly less than they were yesterday. I'm so at dh for coming home so late (4am - after saying he'd be no later than midnight), not feeling that amorous towards him, but I can't help feeling that now is the time. Annoyingly I don't finish work until 10.30pm tonight so it'll probably be too late if I ov'd last night. If I ov today then I should still be in with a chance. Oh for a home scanning machine and a sonographer so I can have a jolly good look and find out what the flip is going on!
