hello everyone,

still no more signs of af which is good - i'm not sure my dates are right though? i am cd 22 if i go from first day of full flow of last af (sorry if tmi) but cd 24 if from spotting. I normally have a 25 day cycle so either due tom or friday!

am not feeling too hopeful i have to say and think i will give up 'really' trying for a few months if i'm not pregnant this month as have a few 'stresses' to deal with in RL!!

Thanks Nomore and Caitini for reassuring words about feeling funny if already have one - its a tricky subject so thanks for your understanding.

right then - best get on with my mission to tidy the house from top to bottom before DH gets home, at least it stops me peeing on sticks!!

Pezzina · 04/11/2008 13:08

Hi all, I'm TTC #1. This is my 3rd month of seriously TTC, monitoring my cycles, temping, etc - although came off the pill in June, just didn't monitor my cycles very carefully. I naively thought that as soon as I came off the pill I'd get pregnant - how stupid could I have been!

pinkie08 · 04/11/2008 12:11

Hi everyone,

I am ttc#2 (but #1 with my husband) DD was from previous marriage.

I havent tested yet but am itching to speed up time to Fri so that i can.

Unfortunately i have that lower back pain that usuallly comes before AF. I was hopeful after following the Deanna Plan but hey ho guess will follow it again next month. Also only got two more cycles of clomid which is so disheartening. DOnt really know what happens after that.

Hi Rafiz nice to join us. Anyone got any ideas how to make the next few days more fun.

Caitni · 03/11/2008 22:37

Hi ladies

Nomore I'm on cycle 14 of ttc #1 - had a CP in Sept (four days late but only very faint positives) and I still get my hopes up every month and then have them dashed when AF arrives...I actually think it's very hormonal for me - I get really excited and hopeful as estrogen rises, then get comedy happy during my fertile phase (and want sex lots more than usual ) and then get so so down when AF arrives. Still, staying hopeful overall is probably the only way I'll get through this IYKWIM. And I believe we'll all get our BFPs - I just hope it's sooner rather than later for us all

And I agree with nomore, I don't want anyone to feel awkward about ttc-ing number 2 (or 3 or 4 ) when some of us are still ttc number 1. Wanting a baby and it not happening is frustrating and a rollercoaster for us all, no matter what number DC it is. If anything, I think it must be very hard/annoying when people say "well, at least you've got one/two/whatever". It's bad enough being told to flipping relax but being told to relax and grateful would tip me over the edge

Hi rafiz and welcome. And big hello to everyone else too. Hope we start gettng BFPs on here soon!!

And here's an updated list

Twoplease due 5/6th November

nomoremagnolia · 03/11/2008 19:56

twoplease don't worry about tiptoeing round the 'I want a 2nd when you're ttc#1' thing - not getting pg when you want to is horrible no matter whether it's no1 or no6. In many ways I expect it's more frustrating if you've already had one to not concieve again.

Rafiz · 03/11/2008 19:51

I am TTC#1. On and off this year.

twoplease · 03/11/2008 19:37

yes nomore - i have a dd who is 4 in december - we put off trying for another for all sorts of reasons until early this year - now its taking a but longer than i'd hoped,i'm sorry we didn't start earlier. i know how lucky i am to have her when so many people struggle to have one (i have 2 v close friends in RL who have can't have chilren)but i would love her to have a bruv or sis too, hopefully before she goes to school next sept.

i hope you feel more positive tomorrow

nomoremagnolia · 03/11/2008 19:22

So you're ttc#2 automatic? and you twoplease? and I'm guessing caitni is ttc#1 like me and I know M2O is ttc#2...so how about the rest of you? Thanks for all the sympathy, I'm just feeling low today, I'll be alright in a couple of days and will be all enthusiatic about trying again!

wishinanhopin · 03/11/2008 19:08

Hi girls
just checking in.......
still waiting. AF is due November 11 so I still have a ways to go.
No symptoms to speak of really. Fingers crossed.
Baby dust to all, lets get some BFP's in here!!
xoxoxoxoxox

Rafiz · 03/11/2008 18:28

Hello ladies. Can I join you? AF due on 18th November so probably OV tomorrow.
Good luck to everyone.

twoplease · 03/11/2008 18:08

sorry to hear its taking so long to get your first nomore - i really hope you get your bfp really soon and that the clomid kicks in properly next month.

thanks everyone for keeping my hopes alive this month! its good to hear your story pinkie - i will probably try to hold on until the weekend to test if af stays away but will let you know if i cave before that (which is very likely indeed although totally pointless!!)

theautomatic · 03/11/2008 18:08

Hope you are feeling OK nomore, this ttc lark is so stressful. I have been convinced I've been pregnant the last 3 months of trying and of course am not, its so disheartening. Felt depressed this morning when I popped out to get a paper, the world is full of women with double buggies and numerous kids! I am lucky, I have one dd already who was conceived first go at trying (I know, I know, I was lucky) so kind of assumed second time round it would be just as easy. However, having thought about it I'm now worried that the infections I got after giving birth to dd have made me infertile. I've heard that infections can scar your fallopian tubes and make conceving more difficult, and of course am now obsessing that my fallopian tubes are all messed up. Its only been 3 months of trying so I should stop being so pessimistic!

Have updated chart to reflect the fact now seem to vary between 28 and 29 day cycle.

Twoplease due 5/6th November
Pinkie08 due 7th November
Caitni due 17th November
Pezzina due 24th November
Mummy2olivia due 30th November
Theautomatic due 29/30th November
Nomore due 29th/30th November (on Clomid)

pinkie08 · 03/11/2008 17:51

Twoplease I just wanted to say it def. does happen. I remember knicker checking when ttc#1.

Had spotting infact one spot on knickers, went horse riding thinking that'll make it arrive good and proper and it never did. That prompted me to do a test in the afternoon and i was pg with dd.

The only prob i have with that now is that if my AF starts with spotting i still keep my hopes up til it arrives and obviously that is just such a let down. Dont we all know

Just wanted to wish you all the best, let us know what happens

nomoremagnolia · 03/11/2008 17:24

Yeah, been ttc#1 for ages, that's why I'm suprised I still get my hopes up and let myself get disappointed. Someone said madness is repeating the same actions and expecting different results. Well every cycle ending in AF and none in a BFP ought to have taught me. Sorry for the rant, feeling annoyed with myself today - stupid Clomid got my hopes up.

Caitni · 03/11/2008 16:41

nomore just x posts with you! Thanks for updating the list . You're perfectly normal to get your hopes up every month, i think it's pretty much impossible not to be disappointed when we're designed for this and our hormones/bodies get geared up for a little bub to nestle in every month and then AF arrives. Are you ttc your first as well?

Caitni · 03/11/2008 16:38

Twoplease I agree that implantation bleeding is very rare (the joys of FertilityFriend is that you can see just how rare it is from their analysis of the charts of pregnant women!) but it does happen...soooo am going to be cautiously hopeful on your behalf . Fingers crossed for you . What day are you planning to test?

nomoremagnolia · 03/11/2008 16:37

Updated

Twoplease due 5/6th November
Pinkie08 due 7th November
Caitni due 17th November
Pezzina due 24th November
Mummy2olivia due 30th November
Theautomatic due 30th November??
Nomore due 29th/30th November (on Clomid)

nomoremagnolia · 03/11/2008 16:35

Thanks girls
Twoplease I think you ought to see your gp about your cycles being so erratic (that is if you're not pg right now of course!) A variation of more than 3/4 days per month is a bit too much to just shrug off.
Caitni Thanks for your wishes - I hope so too but am not feeling optimistic today. You'd think I'd have accepted by now that AF always arrives every month without fail, but I still let myself get my hopes up.

twoplease · 03/11/2008 16:24

your not our - sorry - my 'y' is playing up!!

twoplease · 03/11/2008 16:21

hello,

sorry to hear our news nomore - hadn't dawned on me about the christmas thing - lets just hope we all get bfps before then- if not at least we can have a glass of champers at christmas!!

well, my body is playing tricks on me as i haven't had any spotting since sat night!! so either you were right Pinkie and its some wierd mid-cycle bleeding or i'm not sure!! i feel very pre-menstrual so am
sure its just a matter of time now.... must try really hard not to get my hopes up that it was a bit of implantation bleeding especially as it didn't happen to me with dd.

have been keeping a record of cycles for about 6 months now so have a bit of data - am going to keep going to christmas and then see gp after if no success

caitini - great news that you had a successful visit to docs - glad its keeping you positive.

Caitni · 03/11/2008 15:14

Hi ladies

theautomatic Twoplease and Nomoremagnolia I'm so sorry that AF got you and you're out this month . But I hope you stick around and aim for late Nov BFPs instead

Twoplease is it definitely AF you have? My last cycle was also 21 days, which freaked me out (as my cycles are short enough at 23 days!) but it's because I ovulated early. It's really much more common for women to ovulate early - CD 8-12 - than the textbooks say so that could explain why your AF arrived sooner than expected. But having such varying cycle lengths is definitely worth getting checked out - perhaps you should chart it for a couple of months and then head to the doctor? That way the doc can't fob you off as you can say "see, look how much it varies!". I'm a bit of a ttc obsessive so use a Clearblue fertility monitor, check my CM and also temp so I'm pretty clear about when I ovulate (I use FertilityFriend.com but even just writing things down in a calendar is a good idea). Anyway, hope you had a nice glass (or three!) of wine and are feeling a bit better now xx

Nomore I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that you're going to get a late Nov BFP. Though I know how it is to look ahead at when AF is due to arrive - I really hope that AF goes on a 9 month holiday for you well before Christmas hun xx

Well, I'm on CD 9, expecting to ovulate by Wed, and we just about managed to BD last night. After last month's shagathon we've been a bit less bothered this month . We saw the GP for the first time on Sat morning and he was very reassuring and recommended my DH do a sperm analysis. So my DH called the clinic today and was told the earliest he could do the test was Feb so he's booked to have it done privately next Tuesday instead (that gives us plenty of time to bd through my ovulation and then allow him to abstain before the test itself ). I'd be off my rocker if we had to wait that long for a simple sperm test so I'm hoping that if/when I need to go for blood tests etc it doesn't take that long!

Sorry for the rambling post - best get back and try to get some work done
xx

nomoremagnolia · 03/11/2008 14:43

I'm out of the running now too I'm afraid, though I think I can just move myself to the end of the Nov list as will be due AF on 29th or 30th. Give me the one after due an xmas day/boxing day too

pinkie08 · 02/11/2008 17:03

theautomatic

I had a glass on the basis that its not going to do any harm.

dont you find that when you watch your cycle it does the most ridiculous things.

twoplease i would def keep an eye on it, write down what happened (date wise) this month last month if you can remember and maybe let the docs know. It is probably stress of ttc but at least they can reassure you, i certainly wouldnt worry.

theautomatic · 01/11/2008 17:29

I echo pinkie's recommendation that you definitely deserve a glass or two tonight twoplease, I know I will be indulging. (Will you be joining up pinkie?!) How awful that your cycle seems to have gone up the spout, you should maybe make an appointment with your gp? I feel annoyed that my cycle seems to have turned into a 29 day cycle when ttc when its been 28 days for the past 20 years!!

twoplease · 01/11/2008 17:15

thanks pinkie - i have never had mid cycle spotting so don't think so - i got a pos on opk last sunday night - this could be a problem then couldn't it?

have got a backache and some af type tummy pains so it feels like af - don't want to even think about the unlikely possibility its an implanation bleed as this is exactly how af started last month - 2 days of spotting before a week of bleeding.

oh well, if it is, i'll still be in for a nov bfp as m cycles are so short!!!
