Looking for others who took clomid & hcg. I'm currently 4dpo & could really do with some sucess stories or anyone in a similar boat to me, to help me stay positive!

Thanks ttcbby2, I can test on 15th but might wait an extra day as one of my colleagues is going on maternity leave that day and could be hard to deal with as I'll be emotional either way.

ttcbby2 · 02/05/2009 23:18

Oh how exciting!!!!! How long do you have to wait?

Issy42 · 02/05/2009 17:24

Phew!! They made it, well two anyway and they're now inside my womb. Fingers crossed!

Issy42 · 01/05/2009 13:52

Thanks ttcbby2. I was on a high yesterday with the relief that they had cleaved but today I'm getting anxious again about them making it to tomorrow. I'm only having one put back as the risk of twins is really high with blasts. There is also a higher risk of identical twins, so you could put two back and end up with triplets or even quads. As I'm doing this alone I really would prefer to have one at a time and triplets would bankrupt me, so just can't take that chance. Also the pregnancy success rates are similar whether you put one or two back.

Will be lovely to have a girl - think of how much easier the potty training will be . I'm sure you'll enjoy shopping for her once you start. Just don't get too much too soon as they can be wrong when they think it's a girl.

I'm concerned about Nicci too, but I guess she'll be back when she's ready.

ttcbby2 · 01/05/2009 01:53

Issy, I cannot imagine how you must feel. I thought the time I had to wait from intercourse till the time I could test was forever. I bet you are feeling every second of every minute. I will send good baby vibes your way!!
If all make it then how many will you get inserted? (not sure of the proper word for that) Is it up to you or your dr? I bet that is one hard decision to make...

Oh, by the way we are having a girl this time. I am both happy and sad. I have loads and loads of boy clothes and toys. I guess I will just have to get loads and loads of girlie things.

I sure wish we knew how Nicci was.

Issy42 · 30/04/2009 18:12

Hi all - even

Issy42 · 30/04/2009 18:10

i all - hope you are well. Has it sunk in yet Hayzee?

I had such a nerve-wracking morning waiting for the call to let me know if any of the eggs had become embies, but all 8 cleaved. 4 are doing really well, they are good or average and 6 to 8 cell as expected by the embryologist, 1 is going a little too fast and 3 a bit slow, but none are ruled out at this stage. Am so relieved, but have to keep my feet on the ground as there is still a chance that they won't make it until Saturday. Keep finding myself looking in the direction of the hospital and willing them to be OK.

hayzee · 30/04/2009 06:57

thankyou all for your congratulations
ttcbby2 yes i would love twins and would be over the moon if there are 2 but if there is only 1 i dont mind just being pregnant in its self is the best news i feel like ive won the lotto lol.
issy i dont really know anything about what you are going through as not had the treatment but even if the 2-4 have made it its better than none so keep your fingers crossed. I am hoping that the call brings you really good news and that the rest of the treatment goes really well.

ttcbby2 · 29/04/2009 23:52

Hayzee this is excellent news!!! CONGRATS.
Do you want twins? I secretly did! I was a little upset that it was only one but oh well. I think you get what you are supposed to have.

Issy, thats bizarre. I cannot imagine how you must feel right now.

CoCo hang in there!!!

Issy42 · 29/04/2009 20:20

That's brilliant news Hayzee - congratulations .

My figures above were wrong, should have been 80% to be mature, 60% of those to fertilise and 90% of those to cleave and form embryos. Fortunately for me even though 8 were mature and they all fertilised. I'm now in very scary wait territory as the clinic recommended taking them to blastocyst and putting back on Saturday instead of today, so don't yet know if any of the fertilised eggs cleaved. They're having a quick look on Thursday and then not again until Saturday. So scared they won't have made it, but 2 to 4 should. Will feel much happier when I get the call tomorrow.

hayzee · 29/04/2009 18:58

just my luck the machine at the hospital to do with the blood is broke so my results are still not back but i have done another test today and it is darker than yesterday so am def pregnant as it would get lighter and plus the injection would be def out of my system by now. We are so pleased now just wondering how many as there were 2 eggs but im not going to greedy 1 suits me just fine. i will check in on you all to see how you all are and to let you know how im getting on but im wishing you all the best of luck.xxx

hayzee · 28/04/2009 17:49

hi the hospital said that my results were not back so they are going to let me know tomorrow, ive got a funny feeling that they have been lost as it does not usually take this long.

issy that is great news how did it go?

coco im sorry af arrived but dont give up hope.

Issy42 · 27/04/2009 15:16

Hayzee - responded to your post about 10 mins ago and seems to have disappeared. Congratulations . Hcg always left my system after 10 days, so I'm sure your blood test will be fine, but keep us posted.

Sorry AF got you Coco.

I got 12 eggs and they expect 80% to fertilse and 60% of those to cleave, so should have 5 or 6 embies. Fingers crossed for that call tomorrow.

coco84 · 27/04/2009 15:12

hi everyone how r u all going. Hayzee thats great news - If so, I wish u best of luck.
Izzy best of luck and ttcbaby thank u for ur information.. hope u are doing well??

Well ... an update on myself... I had the hcg shot for the 1st time along withmy half tablet of clomid this cycly.. unfortunatly no luck. I got my period a few days ago.
I had high hopes this month beause there were 2 eggs.. plus the HCG shot I thought things would go ahead... oh well. There is another month to keep trying I guess.
Spoke with my specialist today.. he said that we started with one egg 1st cycle, 2nd cyce there were 2.. he said that it may be that my body needs to get used to clomid as it probably is as eggs are increasing before something happens. He did say that considering my age there shouldn't be a problem and that its just patience and by body getting used to this "newness..".
I hope he is right.

I will keep you all posted.. thank you for this comforting forum once again.. this is great. take care all and best wished xoxo

Lets hope we all have some good news to post in the next few weeks

Issy42 · 25/04/2009 11:29

Oops lost the thread for a while there, it's disappeared from my watched list. Just wanted to let you know that I'm having egg collection on Monday. Hope you're all well.

ttcbby2 · 18/04/2009 01:37

Coco, this was my first trigger shot ever. TTC for a little over 6 months with this pregnancy. It was 2 years with my last pregnancy. Clomid alone just didn't work. I was never offered a trigger shot with my last pregnancy. And actually it was when I came off all meds and gave up that I gave pregnant with my DS. This time around I knew what to expect and we started early. I really think the trigger and cough syrup made a difference. But I will never know.
I also had CM up until about a week after i found out i was prego.

Issy42 · 18/04/2009 00:47

just wrote a post and it's disappeared.

Coco - you're fine, sperm survives for 2-5 days, so you've covered the bases. Best thing to do now is stop stressing and try to relax. hcg trigger will give you early pg symptoms (including cm) for until about 8 dpo, so ignore them all.

ttcbby2 - cough syrup mentioned on lots of threads.

hayzee - thanks for good wishes. Hope you have some energy left after your week of baby-making .

nicci - where are you?

My scan was OK so started stimming yesterday. Next scan and bloods Monday. Grow follies grow

hayzee · 17/04/2009 09:33

hi all
welcome coco to our thread seems like you covered the times to me the hospital always advise me to have intercourse on the day of the injection the next night and the night after and then go back to 2-3 times a week.
issy good luck with your treatment keeping my fingers crossed that it will work.
im getting a little worried about nicci she has not been on here for a while now lets hope no news is good news but it is so unlike her.

coco84 · 17/04/2009 01:45

ohh I almost forgot... also, I still have CM hanging aroiund..? Doesn't the CM die down and go away after ovulation..? Especially just over a week before my expected period..? thanks ladies.....

coco84 · 17/04/2009 01:35

Hello Ladies and thank you so much for your reply's. I love this forum. So Helpful and Its a place where you can FINALLY talk to people with the same problem. God Bless You all. xox

Its now 10 days before my "expected" period. Usually 7-10 daysbefore I start feeling menstral symptoms, boobs crams eTC - BUT i'm not feeling anything now. Maybe the trigger shot changed things around this month..? I dont know I'll have to wait and see... but I'll keep you posted.

BTW, If the egg is released about 36hrs after trigger of HCG,(given on the 9th @ 11AM..) the day I skipped trying (the 11th), would mean the egg was probably released then..?. Im worred maybe I missed my day??

I did try though on 12th however, that would mean about 12-24 hrs after the release of the egg @ 36ish hours?? Im I on the right trck with my INFO??? Im trying to understand how the dates times and cycles work.. I hope I'm getting a better understanding of everything... so confusing

Also, ttcbby2, congratulations and I hope everything goes well for you throughout the pregnancy and after... do you mind me asking.. was this your 1st HCG shot this month? And how long have you been TTC for before it finally worked for you?

Thank you and Best wishes to you all!
xoxoxo

Coco, welcome to the thread and good luck! I think Issy covered it. I had intercourse the night before my trigger shot, the night of and the night after. I also did several doses of Guaifenesin. I am not sure if you ladies are familiar with it. Its a cough syrup, pretty popular here in the US. It thins mucus. It supposedly helps woman conceive because there is mucus on the uterus and some woman have too much or its too thick. By thinning it out the implanted egg attaches to the wall more easily.
Not sure if it really helped me or not but I sure did try it and I am pregnant now so who knows. It could have been the Clomid, the trigger, the cough meds or just my time to get prego.

Issy, I am very happy I never had to do that. I am a chicken when it comes to pain.
I really hope this works for you. It sounds like a lot of work! But worth it!
I am feeling much better! Thanks for asking!!

Issy42 · 15/04/2009 18:12

Hi Coco - welcome to the thread. Sorry you had mc . Quick reply as working late - you should ovulate 36 hours after trigger. Egg hangs around for 6-12 hours or 12-24 hours, depending upon which source you read and according to great sperm race it takes 14 hours for sperm to reach egg, so I think you have it covered.

ttcbby2 - this is my first IVF - all new to me. Injections are a little uncomfortable (rather than painful) to administer and area goes a little red for about 30 mins. I think the next bit, which I'll hopefully start tomorrow is when ovaries swell up and get sore. Egg collection is done under sedation or GA but apparently you feel sore afterwards and embryo transfer is just like IUI so not too bad. It'll all be worth it if it works.

Hope you're all well.
