Anyone else take clomid & hcg trigger shot??

Looking for others who took clomid & hcg. I'm currently 4dpo & could really do with some sucess stories or anyone in a similar boat to me, to help me stay positive!

Well girlies HCG shot was out of my system by 9 dpo (using ultra sensitive 10 miu hpt's) At 11 dpo today and temp has taken a huge dip right down to my coverline! i guess if it's still down tomorrow then thats it, another month bites the dust i guess on the positive side, at least my LP has gone beyond it's recent 9 days (half way there i suppose) Guess there's alot to be said for not obsessing, please pray for me that my temp goes back up tomorrow, i'm beginning to think it's never gonna happen. Just wondering how everyone is? How's the daily poas going nicci?

I realised that the only time I didn't do any early testing was my first IUI attempt which did lead, at least briefly, to me being pg. So this time am going to do the same and no symptom spotting either ... apart from wondering whether the sharp needle like pains on my right hand side yesterday and day before mean anything and looking around the ankles for swollen lumps!!! Not symptom spotting, honest !

Wondered if something was up Hayzee having not heard from u. I wish your husbands cousin well, & that he makes a quick recovery. How scary for you all. Once again my thoughts are with u. x

hi all sorry havent been on but my husbands cousin who is like a brother to him has been rushed to hospital and is in an induced coma so been to hospital which is 60 miles away.

how are you all doing i stopped taking the provera on monday and i think they said that i should expect a period 1-2 wks after the last tab so just waiting for it to arrive.

Hope this month you all get good news.

Sorry to hear AF arrived Miloopy .

Realised when I got home and read instructions that I had given incomplete information about my Ovitrelle - the strength is 250 micrograms / 0.5ml which is apparently equivalent to 6500 IU, so it must be taking me a little longer than 1000 per day to get out of my system. Nurse said that my strange results last cycle sounded like a very early mc to her. Let's hope that one of these follicles produces a sticky bean this time.

I just wanted to give you guys an update.. I had bloodwork today (31 days) and they confirmed that I am pregnant! I can't beleive it! I feel like I am in a dream. They said my HCG levels were at 328 and they want to check them again in 48 hours to make sure they are rising as expected. I really can't beleive it... I really hope & pray that each of you experience this success in the near future,too... I know it will happen for you!

Oh Miloopy i'm really sorry AF showed. I understand how emotionally draining it can be (i'm certain everyone else here can agree too). Maybe the break will do you good. Christmas i suppose is time to try and distract yourself from ttc (so many people tell me it'll happen when you stop trying so hard!-much easier said than done however!) I wish u well, stay in touch with us. x

No luck for me this month, period came early. I am giving the injections a rest until after Christmas, I have found it all quite stressful and need a break for a while. Good luck to everyone else, I shall keep my fingers crossed for you.

Just a quick update from me as am at work. Had scan this morning (only day 9) and already have four follicles over 1mm (2.3, 1.7, 1.6 and 1.2). Quite a shock to be so many so big already and apparently I had one of the sonographers who tends to measure small, so they are probably bigger. OPKs first thing and at lunchtime both negative though so have to use the Ovitrelle tonight for treatment Wednesday. Womb lining only 6mm so hope it thickens. Maybe having side effects with Clomid is a good sign afterall.

My Ovitrelle is 0.5ml, so I must process it slowly as def usually takes 10 days to clear. Maybe last month I got a higher dose and that's why it stayed in my system longer, although the nurse I spoke with today thinks I had a very early mc last month.

Nicci - I get early pg symptoms after hcg shot, especially the morning sicknessy feeling, but they usually go away after about a week.

Welcome Eis, I have to say Issy your last post was v informative! & I totally agree with what you've said. Just wanted to wish u, & of course now Eis, goodluck for tomorrow. Hope to here some positive news tomorrow pm. x
Hayzee hows things? Any signs of AF yet? I've never taken provera, how long do u take it for? When is AF meant to start after taking it? Thinking of u. x
My end, 4 dpo, nausea mild cramps/full feeling, constipation, mild heartburn & my nose has had a small bleed every morning since ovulation when blowing it!! (yes i know it's too early for symptoms but i just can't stop obsessing!) All side effects of raised progesterone & thanks to the Hcg shot, no doubt (this time i only had 5000iu -so like a true peeonastickaholic!! i'm poas daily just to see when it does leave my system, should be interesting). Spk soon

Thank you Issy42. It really helps to hear other people's stories... I am going to call my Dr tomorrow (hoping that I don't start my per overnight) and see if they think it is too soon to do a blood test... crossing my fingers, too!

Hi Eis, welcome to our little group. I think we've all asked your question at some point so I will attempt to summarise our thoughts.

At my clinic, they tell me not to trust a positive until 3 weeks after the injection as that is what the manufacturers say. They have however also told me that if you get to about 17 DPO with no period that's a very good sign.

Nicci/Hayzee - sorry can't remember which of you said this - has been told that it leaves your system at 1000 units a day so if you had the 10000 shot it should be clear by day 10.

This ties up with my previous experience where I have tested negative 10 days after the hcg injection (after previous positives). I have also read that if you test negative and then positive again in similar circumstances (eg both fmu) then you probably are pg.

A note of caution though. This month (my first with clomid and hcg) I didn't test negative until 13 days after the injection, then was negative for two days then had a positive again (although it may have been a dodgy test as the control line had a dot missing out of it) and then tested negative and got AF the day after the positive. Could have been the injection, a chemical pregnancy or a faulty test. I did wonder whether the Clomid affected the hcg too.

Testing positive 15 days after sounds hopeful so I'm cautiously optimistic for you. Good Luck and fingers crossed for you! xx

I am new to his post, but have found many of the conversations helpful. My husband & I have been trying for over a year to get pregnant. We have done 6 months of Clomid and 2 rounds of IUI. My last HCG injection was 15 days ago(Oct 18th) and the last IUI was Oct 20th. I just took a HPT that was positive. I am afraid to get my hopes up because could the HCG injection still be in my body? Has anyone found the HCG injection to last beyond 14 day or could this really be a true pregnancy? It is Sunday, so I can't call the Dr until tomorrow....

no im not having iui just go 2 hosp 4 my scans follicle tracking n then if n when there is an egg they inject me with my hcg shot.
good luck 2 both of u im still on the provera getting loads of stomach cramps which must mean that they r working. xx

Hi nicci - great news. Here's hoping you have a BFP in a couple of weeks.

I've just taken my last clomid for this cycle. Had a hot flush in the middle of the night last night, but no headache today. First scan on Monday (I go on day 10 as previously ov'd on day 11 and missed treatment) so let's hope there's a couple of good eggs developing.

Hayzee are you having IUI at your clinic or just the scans, if you don't mind me asking?

no going to take the provera n then went my period arrives ill just start the clomid again n then go 2 hosp 4 my scans n have the hcg shot when its needed.
im so glad this month is going so well 4 u n u finally get pregnant without the need 4 the tabs.x

Hows everyone doing? i'm quite excited, as i got a peak on my monitor all on my own (no clomid this cycle!) decided to give myself the hcg afterall, on the day of peak, as i remember the doctor saying i don't release the eggs on my own, so hopefully this will do the trick, now i'm just waiting for FF (fertility friend) to tell me when/if i ovulated! Hayzee are you going to try charting this cycle?

well i done another test yesterday n it came up negative so i figure that if i was pregnant then surely it would have shown by now. I decided to start taking the provera this morning there is no point delaying it i might as well just close the chapter on the 1st round and get ready 4 round 2 which hopefully will be alot better. Got to keep ur chin up n hope for the best. Hopefully we will all get pregnant b4 xmas n it would b the most wonderful pressie ever. xxx

Hayzee, i totally understand not wanting to take the tabs. I find it strange that you haven't yet had a period, as if you weren't pregnant the clomid and hcg together would regulate ur cycle causing a bleed, wouldn't they?. Maybe (don't wanna get your hopes up) but there's always the slim chance because you have irregular long cycles there's still a possibility u might be (despite the negative beta). Personally i'd wait for a period too- unless they can do an USS to see what's going on, if anything. Hope u find out soon.

no sign of my period yet i have decided im not going to take the tabs as i emailed a fertility dr on the net and he has told me that it is highly unusual to be this late as i had the hcg shot as the clomid can make u late if taken on its on but it should not affect u if taken with the shot. Not sure what to do for the best, i know if i take the tabs i can get on with the next round but still unsure if bringing on my period is the right thing to do until im 100% sure im going to wait. Sorry i have not been on for a while but had so much going on here xmas shopping etc. Lets hope we all get some good news soon xxx.
