sorry thats not very helpful... wish I could fast fwd time for you.

GYo · 13/10/2008 21:12

Hi LaTour
Sorry to hear what the GP said. Suppose it makes sense although is disappointing.
Glad you have a nice holiday to look forward to in the waiting period.

Have budged up on the Wagon sofa, plenty of room here.

LaTourEiffel · 13/10/2008 20:57

LB - There's plenty of us here can help out with clothes etc, on MN, I mean. So sorry to hear your news.

The GP has confirmed I shouldn't ttc until I've had my gall bladder out, start with a clean slate as it were.

So that's me out, again.

lardybump · 13/10/2008 20:10

I am not the only one being made redundant so I know it isn't pregnancy related. I think they will still have to pay maternity but am going to cab tomorrow to check.

I am so worried about finances now as dp's basic wages dont cover our outgoings so if he doesnt' get over time we are screwed..... Our mortgage protection is in his name only as I swaped it over when on maternity leave and forgot to swap it back so we wont get any relief from that. I dont know if we are entiteled to any benifits but hope so (tax credits I hope) I am hoping the cab tomorrow will be able to help.

Baby will be the hand down king I am afraid and if it is a boy he will still have to wear pink..... he he

sorkycake · 13/10/2008 19:57

Went to Nevercare (mothercare) at the weekend to wheel about a P&T and I do love the sport.

Bugged Dh all Sunday to buy one and then used Sherlock Holmes like net shopping skills to get the cheapest deal £378 from Kiddicare, woohoo!
That is for the pushchair with doubles kit, cocoon, sleeping bag thingy and doubles raincover, in black/charcoal like I wanted

So the man from el sorky he say YES!

Can't believe how relieved I am to have something major sorted for this baby, now just gotta find a bloody car....grump!

Hope everyone is well.

LB that's cruddy about your job, any news on where you stand?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/10/2008 18:36

Thanks sweetie

I am retiring back to the sofa G'night everyone, I will try and catch up properly tomorrow xxx

tinkisgoingtohaveagirl · 13/10/2008 18:24

we are always here for you nat was worried as you havent been on here for a while good luck with tom and i am sure that you will be back to your old self soon great to hear from you

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/10/2008 18:22

So sorry, meant to post that last post on the other thread Had better do it now!

Thanks for advice Diege/Tinks It does mean a lot.

tinkisgoingtohaveagirl · 13/10/2008 18:19

so sorry lb for your job situation how awful like nat says even if you were expecting it it doesnt make it any easier.
i was made redunant along time ago when not pregnant is horrible.
hope that you get it sorted and get what you are owed.

poor you nat - i would say anemia 2 good luck with the midwife tomorrow and getting your spatone cant imagine how u must be feeling

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/10/2008 18:11

DH has just rang from Tesco, the chemist woman told him they're not over the counter but can be found on the shop floor, he has gone up and down the aisles looking for this Spatone stuff and can't find it. I will have to get some in town tomorrow, if I even make it, am seriously worried I'm not going to be able to walk to the MW's from town.

How crap do I sound?! T'is a good jobI can laugh at myself.

Diege · 13/10/2008 17:38

Ah Nat just seen your post in 'Pregnancy' (was posting myself for my, ahem, nit problem ). A clear cut case of anaemia I think - agree with other, spatone is great, NHS cheapie pills crap (literally)
Right, I'm really gone now!

Diege · 13/10/2008 17:30

On second thought LB I would contact ACAS, and also CAB too. If you even suspect your redundnacy is pregnancy related it needs to become an issue.
Off now as dh and dds are back early . Speak tomorrow xxx

Diege · 13/10/2008 17:26

What a blow LB . If I were in your shoes I'd first talk with HR to clarify the terms of your redundancy. If there are grey areas (for eg. it's only you who has been made redundant) it would be worth chatting to a union rep' (they'll support you even if you're not a member). I think ACAS deals with disputes between firms and the union (an arbitration service) so unless it's mass redundancy and the union does get involved they may not be interested (I may be wrong). Thirdly there is an organisation whose name will come to me soon (Maternity Allied Services I think) that deals with maternity pay etc that it might be worth dropping a line to. I really feel for you - that's shitty news .
Nat too - I'm so sorry I didn't pick up on things being tough. If it helps let it out on here, although I understand if you'd rather not. The wagon sofa is full tonight

lardybump · 13/10/2008 17:25

I am going to log off now and do some investigations but will be back tomorrow to catch up, with you all.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/10/2008 17:18

Thanks GYo, I've got MW's tomorrow so am hoping to get a lot of it sorted out, or at least start being sorted out - we'll see! This is the third attempt to see her in 3 weeks, fingers crossed my boys can stay healthy till tomorrow morning!

I will catch up properly, probably be tomorrow afternoon though. Have I missed anything exciting?

GYo · 13/10/2008 17:13

Hi LB- sorry to read about your job issue. Seems like dodgy ground making a pregnant woman redundan but suppose they can do it. Im no expert so cant advise hope others can.

Nat- sorry to hear things have been shitty for so long, please dont worry about not catching up... All here when you need us- and there is space on the Wagon sofa reserved for you.

Take care both

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/10/2008 17:05

Hi everyone,

Sorry LB, I can't at all with the job issue, and for you though, even if you know it's coming it doesn't make it any better. I hope others can give you some good advice. DH has used a company called ACAS in the past for employment matters, might be worth giving them a ring? Is everything else well? You have been missed.

Sorry to everyone else as well, I haven't managed to catch up, have had a few goings on here, won't go into detail here but surfice to say, it has been a shitty few days, well couple of weeks really, anyway....

Hope everyone is well?

Kay- thats a lovely name good choice! Amused re MIL suggestion

Hi LaTour glad you are ok at work. Time for some fruit on the wagon sofa I think!

kayzisexpecting · 13/10/2008 14:16

LaTour, I really hope the GP says its ok to ttc.

I am so tempted to go and have a nap. I'm going to try and cope with out one today. See if it helps me sleep better tonight.

LaTourEiffel · 13/10/2008 13:39

Hi all, just a quick sneak peek as I'm at work, I feel fine really...just missing my daily bar of choccie and a bit of all the wispa bars floating about.

2BG's, I've only had two attacks, the first was when I was 29wks pg with DS and the second on Friday. I agree that the pain was just phenomenal and the nurses that were looking after me said its commonly accepted that it can be more painful than childbirth. However, it wasn't as bad for me this time as it was last time round - I was nearly delirious by the time they gave me morphine back then. This time I was coping a lot better and was relieved by the voltarol injection - which I don't think is as strong as morphine. Are you saying they took it out when you were pregnant? See, with only two 'attacks' in just over 2 years, I have to wonder how much risk I'm at - although the doctor did say that there was alot of stones .

Anyway, I've booked a GP's appt later to see if it does mean an end to ttc or not.

Better fly as lunch break is over, will try to catch up again later.

Kay - are you just teasing about the name or are you going to tell us?

Diege - Yay for your IO dress, get it on I say! You so have to post a picture, you know that don't you

Tink - Great news about the shower, I'd go for the second changer unit too - but depends on colour scheme you're putting it with of course!

I bought a chest of drawers instead from Ikea, complete with the drawer organisers they do, and put a shelf above it. We still use it for nappy changing now and he's nearly two. Wipes sit in the corner, nappy bags in the top draw, and nappies are stacked on the end of the shelf, with spares in the wardrobe. If I'd found the one you have I'd probably have bought that as well though .

kayzisexpecting · 13/10/2008 13:38

We're calling him Dylan Toby. I'm almost 100% this time.

MIL thinks we should call him Albie, short for Albert. You can't even imagine my face when DH told me.

Also I just got my results of my blood test and it was normal so I don't have gestational diabetes!! YAY!!

GYo · 13/10/2008 13:31

ooh- are you sharing the name or keeping it secret til the big day?
