is this right then with regards to bottle feeding. you only boil the water for each feed as you go along then do you add cold tap water to it to cool it down

evening all-

2BGAAB- go to see your GP- how many times are you being sick a day? I found i drank 3 litres of water a day in hospital but can't manage my 8 glasses a day at home at the moment- i'm trying to eat lots of fruit too as thats got lots of water in for my body. I went to my GP at 4.5wks pg and was given my first type of medication... i'm now on something much stronger because i had to go into hospital... but what they gave me at first did do something for me!!

Nat- sorry to hear they aren't doing anything... maybe go and see you're GP or midwife midweek saying it's no better?? the fact you've brought it up wice in such little time should show warning signs to them to at least test you etc!!

Kayz- That must have been very scary with your DS- i've never had anything like that happen yet, and i think these 2 are probably past that stage but i'd be completley useless and panic too!!

Diege- It was wierd waking up yesterday with a labido like a rabbit!! I woke up and pounced on DH- he was smiling all day... makes up for last week when he was worried i'd 'gone off him'... at least he now realises i could never go off him, just off sex!!haha!!

Diege · 14/10/2008 17:21

NAT don't feel you have to keep it bottled in - life is messy with ups and downs and the thread reflects that! Getting down in print can sometimes help too, so please don't apologise or feel you can't be open etc .
Kay, that must have been a nasty shock for you - know what you mean about panicking in those situations.
Throwing it down here - fingers crossed it will brighten up as dh away for a few days from tomorrow and I really struggle on my own to get all dds from childminder etc on public transport/foot.

tinkisgoingtohaveagirl · 14/10/2008 17:12

i am always here for you nat however big or small the problem
kay - that must have been so scary hope that ds is ok now
good luck with house

kayzisexpecting · 14/10/2008 16:16

Hey Nat, it's what we are here for!!

DS nearly choked earlier. He had got into my bag and got a wine gum out. I have done some baby/toddler first aid and it completely went out of the window, I just paniced(sp). Luckily DH did a St Johns course about 6 years ago so he knew what to do. I now feel really sick and can't let DS out of my sight.

Right I'll be back later to let you know what the housing people say.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 14/10/2008 14:20

Diege I told her about how I was feeling up until yesterday (basically what was in the OP of the other thread) then went on to tell her about todays symptoms, she didn't even mention iron, or a GTT, or anything, all she asked was if I was getting help with DS2, and to tell me to rest.

I have got some spatone stuff today, so will obviously give it a go, thing is the (possible) low iron is the least of my problems now.

I am so sorry to everyone, I am trying my best to keep it all off here, but I just haven't got the room in my head at the moment to read through everything 2BG, I know naff all about the vaccine/TTC/pregnancy thing, but I am sure she'd have done something if it was a maor major problem?

kayzisexpecting · 14/10/2008 13:37

Thats pants Nat!!! When I was feeling really tired around 20 weeks my MW did a blood test just to be sure I wasn't anaemic. They should really check.

2bgs, Sorry you are having a bad time. They should have told you about not ttc for 3 months. I'm glad you got a scan date though.

I'm getting really nervous about the housing people coming. I'm dreading they say we can't have the house.

Diege · 14/10/2008 13:35

2bg I wouldn't worry too much about having had the MMR. I was told by my health visitor that it was out of your system in 6 weeks max, and that they would usually say waiting just a month before getting pregnant. Again, this is more to protect them as they don't know the effects (ie, not ethical to do research on pregnnant women). There must be loads of womenn who have vaccinationns when they donn't realsie they're pregnantm,, for hols and things? From what I'm picking up in my research at the moment is that midwives' knowledge tends to veer on the side of 'shoot from the hip' and do the research later (sorry ethics committe )
Sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish too - are you able to keep down any fluids? Could you ask for anti-sickness meds like GLASK?

Nat, that's really crap service too. Did she mention anaemia? It's made me really angry reading your post - I know they do that capital letters thing to cover themselves, and the advice to rest will no doubt get your blood pressure higher! Any luck with the spatone yet? Wish I was nearer annd I would pop in with a bottle for you .
If you don't want to wait till next appointment it might be time to be militant. Could you ring up the supervisor of midwives at the hospital and say you're concerned abiout the level of care you're getting? I'm a little concerned about the wee-ing thing - did midwife say anything about that? I'm sure I've read somewhere about it being linked to with anaemia).
On a brighter note you did make me laugh GLASK with your talk of rampant sex My dh is very much resigned a half-hearted 'finsh off yourself' jobbie at the moment .
Right, I have locked the office door and I am going to have a lie-down under the desk after my early start

tinkisgoingtohaveagirl · 14/10/2008 13:32

poor you nat

you dont seem to have much luck with midwives
cant believe they arent doind blood tests

2bgs - sorry to hear about your problems

2beautifulgalsandabean · 14/10/2008 13:18

Hi everyone, sorry for my absence i am feeling like crap!!!!
Sorry to everyone on the feeling crap, losing jobs, broken showers, having to wait and waking early. Sorry if i have missed something i had a quick skim through.

Seen the MW today not a good appointment. i am very de hydrated and need to drink more or will be admitted to have a drip second i had the MMR jab in July and apparently (i was not told when had it) that you should not concieve for 3 months following so now have to see consultant at 12 week scan to discuss and will have further monitoring on babys growth etc. MW seemed very worried. She booked my scan 7th November 9.30am

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 14/10/2008 12:57

They are doing nothing...

I sat and cried my eyes out (not something I make a habit of), she wrote it all down in my book, "very anxious - upset and crying" in caps, asked if I had help with DS2, and basically made me feel like I was wasting their time.

My BP is up, but not high, she wants me to drop a urine sample in "whenever you can go", and want's me back next week for a BP check, and I am supposed to just sit here till then, oh and "make sure I get plenty of rest" because obviously that is all I need...

Sorry I am ever-so-slightly pissed off.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/10/2008 10:57

Morning all- DH is back at work today so i'm on my own with the kids all day!! hope they continue to behave for me!!

I've just weighed myself and i weigh 1.5stone less than i did pre-pregnancy!!! and to say I am currently feeling healthy (with the help of medication again) and haven't been sick since thursday i think thats maybe a good thing to come out of it all!!

Also my sex drive has gone through the roof in the last couple of days!! I've gone from not wanting it at all (Poor DH only got it 3 times in 10 weeks) to wanting it morning noon and night!! DH seems very happy atm, but i'm sure in a week or so he'll be complaining that he's a man and not a machine!! haha!!

LB- sorry to hear about your work situation, i'm afraid i can't be any help but hope you've got some good advise about where you stand.

Nat- sorry you're having a pants time of it too- but you know we're all on the wagon to listen to the good and bad bits!! so come and winge and moan whenever you like!!

LaTour- sorry about having to put off ttc till after the op, but i suppose you'd only be worrying even more if you fell pg before the op... clean slate will be good for your body, and will also give you something positive to concentrate on after the op!!

Diege- early waking was something i had until about 10 weeks with this one, and very restless sleeping too... i didn't like it at all- felt drained and knackered all the time!!

Everyone else- HIYA!!

Diege · 14/10/2008 10:07

Kay, you can keep the early morning slot, I am knackered .
Yes GYO and Nat, I think the early waking is pregnancy related as had it last time too - wonder if it's something to do with increased blood flow/full bladder (read that somewhere I think or maybe making it up!). I'm also getting lots of saliva which I had when I had HG in previous pregnancies
Great news on the shower front TINKS .
Good luck with midwife NAT - I had anaemia myself with dd3 that went undiagnosed as my blood results got sent to someone else and 'mine' came back normal. They were finally revealed as 4.5 when normal is 10, so maybe yours have dropped too? Mine dropped in a matter of weeks, and I do remember the incredible breathlessness and having to stop half way up stairs etc.
Right, best push on with some work

GruffaloSoldier · 14/10/2008 10:02

Hi Gyo! Glad you are chirpy today!

Hello everyone else!

I have been lurking last couple of days but havent posted. I am still full of cold and suffering but that seems insignificant compared to all the other health worries on here at the moment!

Sorry that you have to put ttc on hold LaTour but hopefully it wont be long before its your turn.

Good luck with MW NJ.

Diege - I was waking early in the early weeks of pregnancy but it did die down a bit eventually. Still dont sleep brilliantly all the time but its not every night!Thank goodness

kayzisexpecting · 14/10/2008 09:49

NJ, I hope everything is ok. I'll keep everything crossed for you.

I'm meant to be cleaning the kitchen and bathroom floors this morning but I might leave it until this afternoon.

sorkycake · 14/10/2008 09:26

LB I've emailed you.

good luck at the m/w NJ

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 14/10/2008 09:08

Moring all,

LaTour, I've obviously missed something going on with you... I am so sorry you've been advised to wait, I will catch up properly later.

Tink hoorah for shower

Early wakings were also part of early pregnancy for me Diege!

GYo, glad you are feeling happier

Don't want to go into it too much here, but I am building myself up for the MW sending me to hospital, have had some symptoms of PE, and given my history I am fairly certain she'll want it all checked...

GYo · 14/10/2008 08:27

GYo · 14/10/2008 08:13

Morning all

Pleased to say that Im feeling much chirpier today. Clearly a day/ evening on the wagon sofa that did it Or just random pregnancy hormones.

Diege- very impressed with your early morning housework. Wondering if waking early is an early Preg symptom as I had that a lot when I was 4/5/6 wks. Didnt get up and do housework though

Hi Ses- glad you appeared yesterday- always weird when the "regulars" are quiet! Hope return to work isnt too bad. How are you feeling now? Still sick?

Talking of which, hi Gruff if you are around

Nat- hope you are feeling ok today, if you get on here and that DH is able to get the spatone stuff. Good luck with the MW and let us know how it goes.
Kay- good luck with the housing association :_

Welcome ABSANDME ! feel free to add yourself to the list and repost. It was last posted sometime last night i think....

kayzisexpecting · 14/10/2008 07:28

Morning,

LB, I'm really sorry about your job situation. I really hope you can still get Maternity pay.

Nat, Sorry you are not too well. I hope you get to see the MW today and she can help you.

LaTour, I'm sorry you have to wait. Hopefully you'll get the appointment soon.

Diege, I thought I was up early at half 5 but you have beaten me.

Sorky, YAY for Phil and Teds. I'm really hoping to get mine soon. I also need to get a car seat. ARGH!!!

Welcome ABSANDME!!!

The housing association people are coming this afternoon to see how bad DH is getting up and down the stairs. I'm dreading that they say we can't have the house, especially as they have already described the house and everything to us.

Hope everyone is ok!!

Diege · 14/10/2008 06:26

Morning! Woke at 4.45 as I have done for last week or so, so rather than lie there thought I'd get up and do something useful. So far have emptied dishwasher, got dry clothes off washing line, tidied up kitchen, got packed lunches ready, made porridge, and am ready to put a wash on! Have to leave for work shortly, but feel very smug that I've got a bit ahead of the housework!
Welocm ABSANDME - a very exciting month for you!
Hope everyone is OK - where are you all?

SesHasapinkline · 13/10/2008 22:44

Hi all!
Can't believe this is my first post of the day and it's gone 10.30! Guess that's what going back to work does...

Definitely sounds like a sofa day on the wagon.
for GYo, NJ, Kay, LB and LaTour

LB - definitely good idea to seek advice. Hope you get some good news re what you're entitled to.

LaTour - how frustrating. Any ideas on how soon an op might be? I hope one of us finds that ffwd button for you.
