gr8 news nat about an appointment good luck

poor u kay with heartburn hope it gets better

dd seems to be ok we did food shopping she has been eating chocolate etc is starving

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/10/2008 10:36

I am the same with milk, though craved it big style at the start of this pregnancy. Don't try to pre-empt the heartburn with milk (choc or otherwise) wait until it is actually starting to hurt because too much milk can neutralise the acid too far the other way and you will end up with a very alkaline tummy, which isn't nice either.

Is the new house far from where you are now?

kayzisexpecting · 15/10/2008 10:30

Milk does help me but I hate milk so I might have to get some chocolate milkshake.

Someone told me fizzy drinks helps them but it does nothing for me.

I just bought a big plastic box to put some books or something in for the move. But DS is now lying in it.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/10/2008 10:27

Kay, I find the only thing that helps my heartburn is chocolate milk, rennies and other things don't touch it. It soothes that hot knife feeling in the back of your throat as well.

Oooh, not the thick 'shake' type milks though - they hurt.

kayzisexpecting · 15/10/2008 10:24

Thats great Nat. At least they are doing something about it.

Poor DD, Tink. Hopefully its only a 24 hour thing.

I am so sick of having heartburn. Its driving me nuts, I feel like I'm addicted to Rennie I have them that much. I'm hoping the MW when I see her tomorrow will be able to give me something for it.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/10/2008 09:17

Change of plan, I've rang the AN clinic at the hospital (got through first time ) she want's me to go in this afternoon.

Don't know if something being done has brought me more relief or more worry

Tink, poor DD, hope she feels better soon, there are so many bugs going round.

tinkisgoingtohaveagirl · 15/10/2008 09:03

That's it Kay, our is coffee/mocha too You describe colours much better than me!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/10/2008 08:11

Thanks Diege I only have a choice of Lloyds or Boots in town, am pretty certain I have seen them around a £10 in Llyods before now.

I really must go and get ready....

kayzisexpecting · 15/10/2008 08:09

I wanted a cream carpet but DH and my Mum think I am nuts. So I might have a mocha/coffee sort of colour.

Diege · 15/10/2008 08:05

Oh and Nat we got out blood pressure monitor thins for £2.50 from Aldi of all places

Diege · 15/10/2008 08:04

Monring Hooray for the trickles Nat Really hope you can get some decent maternity care soon.
Sorry for your bad night Kay - you must feel drained Exciting about move - re: carpet our carpet downstairs is a sort of dark beige/pale nutmeg colour - not esp exciting but doesn't show the dirt (much) and seems to go with everything else.
IN the office now ready for early teaching. Felt a bit nauseous this morning, but better after food - not sure I'll cope with severe sickness and having to leave house at 6.30 Fingers crossed I have a weeek or so before sickness starts! From memory it started at about 5/6 weeks with dds.
Going for a cuppa, speak later x

kayzisexpecting · 15/10/2008 07:42

Morning.

I had a crap night last night. I woke up at 3 to go to the loo and then didn't get back to sleep until half 4 and DH's alarm goes off at quarter past 5. I feel awful.

The move was wonderful yesterday but now I'm a bit terrified!!! DH doesn't really want me to do much packing(even of dvds!!) so I feel useless. Plus I need to find a colour for the living room carpet.

Hope you are all ok.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/10/2008 07:14

Kay, hoorah for house, that's great news

Ses, computer shopping, very exciting!

And another thanks to everyone, as requested, I am still swollen and getting worse, but I have managed to have two small wee's (hooray!! ) too small to catch but something is better than nothing, I think?

I am going to go and buy one of those BP monitor things, not sure they are spot on, but should at least be a good indicator.

SesHasapinkline · 14/10/2008 20:44

I've been trying to post all day but my phone's been playing up. We're going shopping for a new computer on Saturday so hopefully I'll finally find posting a bit easier then - when I'm at home at least!

NJ - I can only agree with what others have said. If you want to offload elsewhere that's fine but please don't feel you can't. Although this is a ttc thread. We've all off loaded about all sorts of things and want to be able to support you as you have us. (Sorry, hope that doesn't sound too bossy!)

Kay - yay for the house! Glad you got some good news on that front.

Glaskham - glad you're doing ok. Whilst I'm in bossy mode, do look after yourself.

LB - glad you started to get answers. Hope the maternity pay is confirmed.

Hi to everyone else

lardybump · 14/10/2008 19:48

Sorky I have emailed you back thank you so much.....

lardybump · 14/10/2008 19:07

Good to have you back Kay. NJ I am so sorry about the way you are being treated. I have no advise except to go to hospital but I know that is not what you want to do.....

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/10/2008 18:37

Kayz- glad you've got the house!! It sounds like it'll be great for you all!!

kayzisexpecting · 14/10/2008 18:30

I'm so sorry Nat, I'll go look at your other thread in a second.

WE HAVE THE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!! We are getting the keys Monday. It has a large living room, a kitchen diner so I can have a table, a nice bathroom. There are 3 bedrooms but one is very small. It also has built in wardrobes. DS's room is bright pink and purple so needs a lick of paint but its not very urgent.

LB, sorry this is happening at such an awful time.

lardybump · 14/10/2008 17:56

Nat so sorry for your troubles I am going to find your other thread now...

Diege · 14/10/2008 17:45

Ah but we all drag our woes out here Nat . If you're happier keeping it separate, no probs, but don't feel you have to!
Thanks LB . I'm feeling fine at the moment thanks (4 weeks 1 day); tired, lots of heartburn, early waking, but no sickness as yet. I am praying for sickness after not having any last time . Really hope you can at least find out where you are on maternity pay front - I'm sure you're entitled as rules changed to say they must pay as long as you weren't pregnant before getting the job.
Right, dh back with dds - speak later

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 14/10/2008 17:38

Kay, glad DS is OK - very scary, hope the house thing goes well.

Tink, sorry sweetie, I am not up on bottle feeding at all. DH used to do all of DS1's bottles at once, but I know the advice has changed since then (though must admit, if we ere bottle feeding now, I'd do it how we used to do it with DS1 )

LB, hope you get the answer you need, and quickly.

Diege, I am just trying to keep it all on the other thread, a TTC thread is hardly the place for my woes.

lardybump · 14/10/2008 17:31

evening all. I cant believe I missed it Diege big fat congrats!!! This must of happended while I was on Hols... How are you feeling??

Is there any other news from last week I dont have time to catch up.

I received my notice of redundancy today and I am getting no redundancy pay but a months notice so the leaving date puts me inside 15 weeks until baby is due. thus I think they have to pay my maternity (have asked payrol to confirm this and awaiting an answer)..

I am trying not to let it get me down as I know it is not personal and no way reflects my work but it is very hard.....

Diege · 14/10/2008 17:31

Not sure TINKS, although I know the rukes have changed. If I bottle feed I'm still going to make up in batches and keep in fridge (my midwife sister said there's no real evidence against this, and that they were told in clinic to promote the new advice so people wouldn't think bottle feeding was an easy option over breast )Not meaning to be controversial, but a point to bear in mind!

Diege · 14/10/2008 17:28

LOL Glask, I feel tired just reading about your nocturnal activities .

NAT - have just read your other thread and am a bit worried. I really think you should give the hospital a ring, even if it's just to out your mind at rest.
