Here we are on another new thread! Let's hope it's a lucky one

Yes Glask, like I said it sounded just like a train was passing very close by, had visions of his van being pushed down the track on a level crossing! I am laughing now but it wasn't funny! I didn't know what to do, I had no idea where he was driving, where he had been, where he was going to, nothing.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 01/10/2008 12:19

oh NJ- that's happened with me and DH before- i heard a crash and bang, phone went dead... scared myself to death!!

It's wierd how bad your imagination goes isn't it- always fearing the worst!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 01/10/2008 12:07

OMG, just had the most frightening 15 minutes I can remember ever having:

Load of the stuff I'd ordered from MC was delivered, in my excitment () I rang DH, he was driving (his phone is on bluetooth) we were chatting away and then there was a huge bang and what sounded like he was stood next to train, and then his phone went dead, I rang him back must have been 100 times (I'm not joking!) and it kept just going to answer phone, 15 minutes later it fianlly started ringing, and he says "I can't help it if it loses signal" Well, OK he can't help it, but bloody hell... I'm shaking LOL

His phone often loses signal but it has never done anything like that, it normally just either goes really quiet, or just cuts off.

Sorry had to off load my wussy imagination.

2BG, I nearly said in my last post that bleeding around 6/7 weeks is so very common it is sniffed at by the medics, but thought if you were passed 6/7 weeks you'd take that as a bad sign! As much as you still need your mind putting at rest it really is just likely to be the baby bedding down for the duration, still bloody frightening though. Take it as easy (as you can!), keep an eye on it obviously, and if you feel like you need reassurance than the GP can offer insist on getting it, it is your right to not have to just 'live with it'.

Have been to town, am drenched, but bills are sorted, somehow doesn't seem worth being soaked through though....

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 01/10/2008 11:23

2BGAAB- good luck at GP's- as its stopped i'm sure all will be ok for you, i had bleeding a couple of times with both my other 2 pregnancies... not had any yet with this one

I'm very ill this morning, couldn't get DS to nursery because my head was down the loo too much.. so as i dont need to be going out i can't decide wether to take any medicine or not!!

Heebeejeebee · 01/10/2008 11:22

2bgs - that doesn't sound too bad. Good luck at the drs - you should be fine for a scan (I don't think you can see much before 6 weeks), but as NJ says, do press for one, because it will set your mind at rest.

Tink - you must be exhausted...

istinkhavingaboyoragirl · 01/10/2008 10:58

2beautifulgalsandabean · 01/10/2008 10:47

it was a litlle bit when i wiped this morning and then some more on pyjamas when i went back to the toilet 10 minutes later.
I am 6+6 weeks. Taking DD1 to docs later so will monitor and talk to doctor. Stopped now, probably nothing but still scary!
Saw midwife yesterday aswell.
Thanks everyone, will keep you updated.

Heebeejeebee · 01/10/2008 09:16

Meant to say - Diege - I've been drinking grapefruit juice (glass in the morning) and that has increased the EWCM, but I'm sure that if you've been using preseed, doesn't that pretty much do the same job?

Ses - hope the packing goes ok!

NJ - you are the retail therapy queen!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 01/10/2008 09:08

as for the baby mobile talk LaTour- i just normally choose one i like!! had a lovely mamas and papas one for the other 2 that matched the bedding... I have seen a lovely one on verbaudet that i may get for this one, but it also depends on what bedding i choose too.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 01/10/2008 09:04

2BG, also can't remember how far you are, but bleeding in the first trimester is very very common, something like 40% of healthy pregnancies will have some sort of bleeding at some point.

I had red blood and clots at 7 weeks with this one and so far everything is fine.

Ring your MW/EPU see if they will offer a scan, if not, A&E. Take no prisoners, insist on being seen TODAY either for a scan or to see if they could pick up a HB with a doppler, anything to put your mind at rest.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 01/10/2008 09:03

2BGAAB- get to the EPU, or go to A&E... is it brownish? brown is much healthier than red blood... fingers crossed it's nothing, but best to get it checked out.

SesHasapinkline · 01/10/2008 08:53

Poor you - how worrying.
Is it spotting or heavier?
Is it bright red or brown?
The majority of pregnancies have some bleeding but there is never any harm in contacting GP or local Early Pregnancy Unit or MW. Hope all is ok.

OP posts:
Heebeejeebee · 01/10/2008 08:53

2beautufl - how much, and for how long?

I can't remember how pregnant you are, but either call your doctor and get an appointment so he can refer you for a scan, or call the hospital and see if they will let you self-refer to the EPU/midwife.

Chances are it is nothing, but you'll only be reassured when you see the scan

2beautifulgalsandabean · 01/10/2008 08:48

i'm bleeding girls what should i do?

istinkhavingaboyoragirl · 01/10/2008 08:40

nat - more shopping
go girl

SesHasapinkline · 01/10/2008 08:39

Morning!

NJ - more shopping!!!? V impressive!

Guess my bit of shopping is the minor issue of a new house tomorrow! Still loads of packing to do!

Diege - NJ's right. The not knowing is so difficult. Hope teaching goes well.

Well I definitely have LaTour sussed Welcome to your new world of being LaTour!

OP posts:
NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 01/10/2008 08:27

Oh, that is sad about your cat Diege I know it's become a bit of a cliche but it is the not knowing that makes it worse. Hopefully he is just wallowing somewhere and will return yet.

More shopping today, still need to get some sort of crib or moses basket or something - somewhere for the baby to sleep downstairs in the day, and the bedding for it, and I suppose at some point I had better start thinking about a hospital bag, the way the contractions are going I think I'd better get a start on it sooner rather than later (just for it to clog up the house till middle of Jan no doubt!) Also got boring spends to make, bills in town , it's pissing down out there!

Oh and don't give up on the no EWCM, you can easily miss a little bit, and the pre-seed helps as well.

Hope the teaching goes well

Diege · 01/10/2008 08:03

Morning . Thanks everyone for your good wishes about the cat. People think I'm mad, but he had been with me through everything and is part of the family. Still no sign , and I'm becoming resigned to bad news. I think it's because he was poorly and quite weak that I'm thinking he's gone off to die . Sorry to be so depressing first thing!
One good side effect is that it's taken my attention off ttc, so I'm not symptom spotting in the slightest! Even though I got my positive opk, I'm not holding out much hope for this month as didn't get any EWM, but hey stranger things have happened!
Great news about the ear syringing LATOUR! Oh to hear again! Sounds like you've mad e a good friend there too in the nurse
Monring NAT . Any more shopping planned for today or are you having a breather? THink you've got some lovely stuff there
Right, I am going to get a cup of tea in the canteen (yes, I've been in work since 7.45 First day of teaching today so will be glad to get it over with and settle back into it all. Speak later x

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 01/10/2008 06:55

Morning

Diege, any sign of the cat? I really hope he's back now. It is understandable about you being upset (and not even disproportionally so) 12 years is a hell of a long time.

Glask, good news about you managing on the most part without the meds

LaTour, I hope you feel a bit better after yesterday? It is a funny old world the nurse being there at the right time, DH being in a helpful mood etc. it all comes together sometimes!

LaTourEiffel · 30/09/2008 20:47

Evening all! Am feeling much better this evening and having a glass of red to celebrate the successful syringing of my ears! YAY! I can hear! The nurses were really lovely and the one who actually did the washing bit turned out to be a bereavement counsellor and I ended up having a bit of a blub, she was sooo lovely though, I kind of couldn't help it! She said if I needed to talk to just book a blood pressure check up and go down and see her, so nice to have some support available if I need it.

Then I went to work and had a big cry there too but boss was very lovely and made me tea and she helped me with my work too, so that seems a bit less daunting now.

DH picked DS up from nursery for me so I could work late (I have an important meeting tomorrow) and when I got home he'd cooked DS' tea, hoovered all of downstairs, cooked our tea which we ate, then he went upstairs and cleaned the bathroom before doing DS' bedtime routine! He's not normally this good but its lovely when he is!

Diege, you're my virtual running buddy, so I know you know who I am. NJ has def. worked it out (so I know Glask has it too) and think Ses has me sussed. Tink, my shopaholic friend, surely you can guess too , LB - this thread's just too addictable for me to stay away long so sure you'll guess soon .

I didn't mean to be quite so mysterious but its entertaining - perhaps we should all take it in turns - then I could have a go at guessing too!?

Tink - have to ask you about mobiles - do you choose one that matches your nursery, one with a tune / functionality that you like (e.g don't have to wind up every 30 seconds / not annoying tune) or one of the Lamaze style ones thats all funky black and white as its supposed to be good for little babies? I'm looking forward to having another and buying stuff (I was given ALOT of stuff for DS) and I think I'd quite like to choose a mobile this time round, although, I LOVE the tune on mine - its "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine" and DS was mesmerised by it so maybe I should keep it... oh well, not even pg yet, interested to hear people's thoughts though! Would make a change from the great buggy debate

istinkhavingaboyoragirl · 30/09/2008 17:54

hi

if i find out i am having a girl will just buy 2-4 newborn outfits wont need anything else dd had so many clothes
if a boy will buy all new.
have bought quinny buzz by selling old pram and other bits on ebay
cot only £50 on kiddicare and cot mattress only £30
will buy a mobile

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 30/09/2008 17:23

Diege- was going to say the same as HBJB... maybe he's just been shut in a shed/garage yesterday evening... hope he comes home to you soon... i have 3 cats and i will stand in the back garden shouting them until they come in for the night- i'm so scared about them staying out all night!!

LB- i'm kinda in the same boat as you... as we sold/passed all the DC's baby bits on (thinking DD was the last) we need to buy them all again... So my pram was bought used, the cot will be bought used.... but then clothes etc will be as normal, some bits off ebay if i find anything i like and the rest new...

lardybump · 30/09/2008 17:15

evening all.

I have no clue who LaTour is either but then I am thick so will need it spelling out to me....

Diege so sorry about your cat. I just hope he comes back soon.

NJ you are a shopaholic and a half my god woman!!!!! ANyone would think this was your PFB. I am not aloud to get anything (we can not afford it really) so baby will have dd's old bits, they will be sharing a room anyway.... I will be getting some clothes though.....

Hi to everyone else hope you are all well.....

Heebeejeebee · 30/09/2008 16:31

Hi there

Diege - I really hope he comes home soon He may have got shut in to someone's garage and will hopefully reappear when they put their car away? 12 years is such a long time...

Ses - no more scans for now (until next month, I guess) but I have blood tests on Friday (day 21 progesterone and also a blood count as i lost so much blood in the mc my blood count was 6 or 9 (can't remember which) and the hospital sent me home with iron tablets. They were SUPPOSED to tell me to get a repeat prescription when that ran out, but they didn't. And that was 6 months ago). After that I need to call the consultant's secretary who will advise me on dosage for next month...
