Morning

Tink, I think I am as excited for you as you are about this bloody scan! Seems to have taken an age to get here! Can't wait for the result

Ses, really pleased you managed to get the keys(!!) and everything seems great

Diege, congrats to your friend Lovely news.

Not sure what our plans are today, DH is working this morning, I was going to take the boys into Blackburn but it is chucking it down and blowing a gale, not sure I can be bothered TBH! Think I might make a start on DS2's old room, I did get a lot of it cleared out in the week, but there are still some things that need coming out, and there is a pile of stuff to put on eBay. In fact if anyone wants it, let me know, will do it FFP to people on this thread, it's things like curtains and cot bumper, light shade ect. all in yellow and blue gingham with cute little characters on it. Will obviously go into more detail/pictures if anyone wants it. It is all in VGC, too good just to be chucked out. My email is [email protected] if anyone is interested? Also have a glider chair and stool in pine and cream. LOL Keep thinking of things up there. I didn't start out this morning to advertise, honestly!! LOL

LaTourEiffel · 03/10/2008 20:16

Well, I was told before having a ring on a gold chain swung over my bump, that I had to decide which was which, i.e. was side to side boy or girl. I decided up and down was boy and that's what it did - I was the third lady to be accurately predicted by her in a space of about two months - she was very excited!

Been for my second run this week, breathing and energy was fine but my calves felt like lead... Diege, any idea how many weeks of running three times before I 'see' some benefits? I will lose weight won't I?

Busy weekend planned, swimming with DS and friend from nursery tomorrow morning, tidying up this hole of a home tomorrow afternoon then PIL are here on Sunday. Its forecast to pee it down with rain all day Sunday so my run might get delayed till Monday..I'm motivated, not mad! AF seems to be backing out the door, counting down now...

Diege · 03/10/2008 18:34

Oh that's interesting about the circle thing TINKS - I was told it meant girl (line for boy) and had it 3 times with dds .
Right, off for good now, x

istinkhavingaboyoragirl · 03/10/2008 18:28

cheers diege

will pop on quickly in morning before scan.
scan is in portsmouth so will post in aft sometime we are having lunch and going in mothercare there.
with all the old wives tales i come out as boy

dd keeps saying how she is going to have a brother

Diege · 03/10/2008 17:43

Evening! Just in case I don't get on again before tomorrow, GOOD LUCK TINKS . Don't keep us in suspense - will expect a post asap after your scan .
Nice news from a friend this afternoon. She has a little girl, but then suffered seven miscarriages before giving birth to a healthy baby boy today. Puts things into perspective!
Oh and TEUCH while I rememeber the female spider thing was a nugget of info' from Aunty Mabel and Pippin .
Right, teas to do! Will pop in tomorrow xxx

lardybump · 03/10/2008 17:29

Teuch it is so good to hear from you. So sorry about your stay away from home that is not good. I really hope that you have the support you are going to need at the time....

Well we're in the new house and are just so pleased with it. Feels like we've got so much more space and is just such a beautiful house with a lovely big garden. It just needs a lo now!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 03/10/2008 10:23

teuch- that does sound tough- dont think i'd cope at 28wks pg, away from home, caring for a toddler...

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 03/10/2008 10:21

Diege- while you call them can you ask them to take my 3 cats away too?? one of them- and i couldn't tell which so blame them all, woke me up in the night meowing loudly... then went and scraped about in the litter tray for ages!!! and last night was the first night since my BFP that i've not needed to get up for the loo!!!!!

NJ- i agree- glass and paper is far too close!!! and what if you dont get the paper under correctly or the spider is so big and wont fall down the glass while you try and get it off the wall?? it could touch you!!!!!

BigTeuchLittleTeuch · 03/10/2008 10:18

Every spider you see is female?! I can't get my pg brain round that one...

I'll be going with DS firstly, but staying with family. Then if no action by just before christmas, DH will join me and we have our own place for a few weeks. I'm seriously considering the thought of requesting early induction on the basis that I'llbe away with 'no' support, heavily pregnant and looking after toddler, and that I am anxious about doing it without DH!!

But I am scared to make an 'active' decision, IYKWIM. Not sure I want to put that ball in motion, since I think that the local GP is fairly supportive, so then would depend on consultant...

istinkhavingaboyoragirl · 03/10/2008 10:18

hi

i am sitting in the piece and quiet.
going to sit and watch tv in a min with my embroidery i am sewing a hello kitty albhabet crosstitch for the baby
think i have worked out who you are latour holiday sounds great i went to portugal when i was 13 lovely it was very warn when i went.
gr8 2 hear from you teuch poor you with contractions not long now
dont blame you with spider nat - as soon as i see one i run into the nearest room and shut the door then call for dh to sort it.
paper cup and paper far to hear to be in the same room with it to near for me.

well scan a day away cant believe it cant wait.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/10/2008 10:06

No, no freedom to be had in this house, if you let them out, they remember where their webs are and come back in to gobble you up whole, and babies? Sod that for a game of soldiers, do you know how many babies come out of those sacks, my heart would fail if I had that many climbing everywhere Besides, cup and paper = far too close to the bloody things in my book...

I am sure the Joe Jingles class will remind your DD how much fun school actually is

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/10/2008 10:02

Oh, Glask, spiders, in fact any insects, they scare the hell out of me TBH I am a lot better with crawling insects now then I was even a couple of years ago, but if something flies towards me, especially if it buzzes.... well, you will find me 100 miles away in 2 seconds flat!

I used to hoover them up as well, until I watched one crawl back out of the hoover, now I have to see them dead obviously the one this morning has a masters in playing dead

Teuch, you must be coming up to 28 weeks because I know you are due only a few days ahead of me and I am 27 weeks tomorrow. How are you going to cope with moving to mainland? Will DH and DS be with you?

Diege · 03/10/2008 10:01

Glask and Nat, I am going to call the RSPCA on you two . What you need to do is get a glass and a piece of paper, scoop it up and release to freedom Come on, those little spiders might have babies somehere crying out for them (apparently every spider you see is female). There, do you feel guilty now???? .
Nat, nightmare over card business. I've had same in shop when my bank rang up over suspicious activity - just me having a splurge, but was really cross. I mean whose money is it anyway? . At least you can relax now anyway.
Hi TEUCH! Great to hear from you; the wagon misses its tech!
Well have ended up brining dd1 back home with me as she says she's not feeling well . Seems to have miraculously picked up now . dh away so had to take her up with me, cue school secretary telling me I should have dragged her up to school - a phone call would have done. Err yes, but I needed to bring her sister to school anyway and as dh away couldn't very well leave dd1 in house on her own...Cue 'yes dear, you really should just have rung us' . Sooo, now a perked up dd1 has to come and suffer the indigities of a joe jingles class for 2-3y olds .

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 03/10/2008 09:45

Hello Teuch!! Nice to hear from you- and OMG- your 28wks??? that seems to have flown by!! i'm pretty sure i first joined the wagon when you'd just got your BFP!!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 03/10/2008 09:43

NJ!!!!! you sound just like me with spiders.... however i normally get the long extension on my hoover and suck it up... then i'll empty the cylinder straight away, in the outside bin.... just in case its survived!! i sometimes go and hoover something hard and bitty up to crush it too if its a big one!!

Once i hoovered a MASSIVE spider up, then it was running round inside the hoover (being a dyson you could see it running round the thingy bit in the middle!!) then i went and hoovered some big cat litter out of the bag (clean!!) so it'd crush it!! The bastard was still moving!! so i emptied it into the outside bin and it tried to run out and get out of the bin!! So for the next week afterwards i made sure DH put all the rubbish in the bin in case it was waiting to jump on me!!

LaTour- holiday sounds great!! Ideal time to get away!! will maybe help take your mind off things!! And on the fruit and allergies thing, i was highly allergic to pineapple and rasberries from early puberty, and it would cause swelling in the mouth and throat, a rash all over my neck..... since having DS i'm not allergic any more!! How odd is that!!

BigTeuchLittleTeuch · 03/10/2008 09:41

Hello ladies! NJ honked me, so it would have been rude not to swing by

I actually have been reading, I just have nothing interesting nor useful to post these days

I can't remember - I think I'm nearly 28weeks. Everything seems to have settled down although it is only about 7wks or so until I have to leave my lovely island home . I'm pretty huge and therefore a bit stiff and sore, and I get plenty of contractions & BH's which ain't comfortable.

Will have to skim up to get all the news!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/10/2008 09:03

Oh oh oh, annnnnnndddd this morning I was so grown up and brave.

DH went out at 6.29, BIG HUGE GIGANTIC spider pokes his head out at 6.34, instead of ringing DH ( wouldn't be the tenth first time I have done!) I knocked it down with a cushion, then banged it with my shoe, 20 two times, thought 'ha that fucker isn't going anywhere now', left it on the floor as knew I'd be hoovering after the boys had eaten breakfast, forgot about it, got the hoover out to get rid of it, and it has gone! The bloody thing is somewhere in here and it is going to be seaking revenge....

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/10/2008 08:27

Morning

Have had panic stations all night. After that hoohah with my card details yesterday, had a message left on my mobile from HSBC (my bank) fraud protection to ring them urgently, they left a number, but I know HSBC have had loads of problems with spoof emails and phone calls recently so didn't want to ring the number they left incase it was dodgy, so had to wait till 8am this morning to ring through to the normal customer services so they could put me through to fraud protection. Had all sorts going through my mind, checked my internet banking but I know cc transactions don't show up on there for a few days, so knew if anything had gone on I wouldn't see it anyway. Finally 8am rolls round and all it was was for them to double check that all the spending I'd been doing (mainly the big MC order) was actually me... bastards! LOL I notice they didn't ring to see if the payment I made from my bank account to my cc to cover the spending was me as well! I was thinking all sorts all night, barely slept, keeping DH awake with my tossing and turning....

They should know by my history that anything I put on the cc is covered by a payment from my bank account, if I buy things online I always use the cc incase anything goes wrong because you have protection with a cc than a switch card, so I just transfer the money from my bank account to cover the cc bill. GRRRRRRRRRR!

Anyway.... Glask, certainly no harm in asking at the scan, but just don't get your hopes too much that they will tell you, even if they will tell you, it won't be a solid gold deal, things can look very much the same at that stage.

LaTour, good going with the 'over coming alergies' thing! Maybe it would be an idea to count down time rather than up? So x number of days/weeks/months till OV/BFP/baby etc. You know where I am if you ever want to offload, though I do realise I am probably not the right person in your mind. I have been there (and still am there is some ways) though and I understand how you are feeling.

I suppose I had better get some clothes on DS2, not sure he'd like to go to school with nothing on! T'is freezing out there!

Diege · 03/10/2008 06:46

Morning! An early one for me as dh away so have the ordeal joy of getting all three to school and back on foot in pouring rain . DD3 up, will wake others at 7.
Latour - I can see why you're excited ; is it possible you might becoming desensitised to your allergens? I'm sure it would make life easier for you .
dd is demanding more pineapple juice (it's apple ) so back later.

LaTourEiffel · 02/10/2008 22:15

I have some err slightly exciting news , well it is to me...

I'm very allergic to most raw fruit and veg and had a bit of a dizzy moment whilst in the canteen at work today...

They've started selling little pots of natural yoghurt, honey and fruit, so I bought one. Completely forgetting about my allergy . However, I didn't have a bad reaction at all.

When I eat home made coleslaw I don't react to the carrot in it, but if I eat a 'naked' raw carrot my lips and mouth swell and sometimes blister. Normally its the same for both apples and pears (amongst many other fruit and veg) but this yoghurt pot contained both and I was fine. A kiwi fruit causes the same with an added bonus of a bad asthma attack .

So, I can only deduce that the fruit being coated in the yoghurt made it manageable for me in the same way that carrot in coleslaw seems to be OK too.

I ate fresh apple today without reacting for the first time in over ten years .

Like I said, I was excited....

Anyway, best off to bed, DH is feeling poorly and went to bed an hour ago, very unlike him .
