well i obviously dont want to push you to find out if you dont want to, but IME it was better to know. And anyhow i'm just too darn nosey to not ask!!

I've just taken DS to the GP's and there is nothing he can do about it, he has a rare type of coldsore/herpes virus that will trouble him for life apparently, and the only cream they can give him is for external use only. I feel so sorry for him, this is maybe the 4th or 5th time he's had it in the last 12mths maybe, actually less, it was since he started nursery last jan... I feel so sorry for him, and it could cause huge problems for him with school, if he gets it 6 times in a year then thats potentially 6 weeks off school... when he's older and got a girlfriend he'll not be able to kiss her when he has them... and all because he caught it at nursery!!!! argh!!! i dont know what to do!!

GYo · 06/10/2008 13:42

Thats a good point Glask. We are calling him He already, as we've given it a "he" name in the womb...

Think we will have to find out or we will be well confused if its not what we think...

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 06/10/2008 13:11

i liked being able to say 'he's kicking me in the ribs agin' or 'she's on the move' when they were inside me!! it felt right...

I am almost certain this one is a boy (because of the sickness in my case!!) and would definitely need to know as i'm not going to keep away from the blue clothes for another 26+ weeks if i didn't find out and if i had a girl but had bought blue it'd be a nightmare!!

GYo · 06/10/2008 13:06

thanks Tink, Glask- the reason we might find out the sex afterall is that I am convinced its a boy.

I didnt ever have a boy preference, in fact I had a girl preference before being preg! But for some reason i've got this idea that its a boy now (instincts and lack of sickness) my DH is concerned that we should find out so I can adjust to the idea of a girl, if it is, before the birth. Im still unsure as I fancied the idea of a suprise, but the point about bonding is a great one...

got 4 wks til 20wk scan so time to decide!

Well done glask on the tidying- very impressive :-) must feel theraputic!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 06/10/2008 12:56

Hi GYo- i also found out with both my other 2, and i have to say, knowing their name from 20 weeks and calling them by their name inside me, talking to them using their name, and just knowing i was going to have my son or daughter (as i had one of each) in my arms at the end of it all was amazing. I honestly agree with tink that it helps bonding- i felt so bonded with my 2 before they arrived and i dont know if i'd have felt that bonded if i'd have just been having a 'baby'...

I did a massive blitz of all the kids toys this morning. we had a broken, charity shop, and keeping pile. and they have almost halved their toys!! i plan to do it again a few weeks before xmas to make room for new toys!! But i'm so proud of how clean and tidy the living room looks and i haven't even hoovered yet!!

I have to take DS to the GP this afternoon, he's got some blistering on the inside of his top lip and its making his mouth all swell up, looks painful. Hopefully they can give him something, but i'm not looking forward to the whole week with him off if it doesn't clear up quickly!!

Both kids are driving me nutty today, they mustn't have slept too good as they are both tired and cranky, both will start crying because the other is and will fight over nothing etc- i'm not looking forward to an afternoon without a nap (can't fit one in before doc app) and then i need to pop to town and get a bit of food as i've got nothing worth cooking in the freezer, making spag bol for tea i think... but not sure, DH is on a late so would mean having to make 2 lots of pasta... but i now eat with the kids so i dont get heartburn when going to bed for eating too late!!

god how much have i waffled!!??!!

tinkisgoingtohaveagirl · 06/10/2008 12:37

hi gyo fights way through tumbleweed
yes we did @ 33 week scan which was a growth scan couldnt see @ 20 week one she had her legs crossed!
i find it helps with bonding when you find out the gender and it is gr8 to buy the relevant clothing and nursery bits

GYo · 06/10/2008 12:08

SesHasapinkline · 06/10/2008 10:00

New house is fab We feel v lucky and now just trying to unpack and sort out where everything goes! Our dogs are staying with a friend whilst DH makes the garden secure for them. They're due back Wed which will be great to see how they like their new home. Much bigger garden which will please the younger one. She'll probably go completely mad running round smelling every corner. The older one will probably look with disappointment at the running space but will then spot the fallen apples ( we've got 3 apple trees!), scoff as many as she can and make herself ill!

Well I waffled on well there!

GYo · 06/10/2008 09:38

Ouch re falling downstairs. Bet that hurt!
Think ligaments stretching is quite normal. I've had various degrees of pains that have turned out to be ok so far...as long as it doesnt get worse I wouldnt be too worried but its so hard not to be...

Forgot to ask, how is the new house?

Bump has appeared and at some angles looks quite prominent. There is something very solid low down which must be pushing everyhting else out of the way! I just feel fat but my DH says its noticeable now. He really noticed after I'd not seen him for 2 wks!

SesHasapinkline · 06/10/2008 09:25

Have been feeling less worried which is good and have now told a few people. Still have my moments of worrying. I fell on the stairs a couple of days ago but trying to be sensible as landed on my bum and slid down only about 6 stairs so don't think that should have caused any problems.
Stomach muscles really pulling but they probably weren't in the best shape to begin with
How's your bump growing?

OP posts:
GYo · 06/10/2008 09:17

Hi Ses! How are you? How is the sickness today? I was pleased to hear your scan went well. Are you feeling any less worried now?

The jetlag is okish. Despite only sleeping at the right times I was awake until 2am this morning but I think after getting up at 6, I should be back to normal tonight if I can get through today in the office

SesHasapinkline · 06/10/2008 08:57

Morning GYo
How's the jetlag now?

OP posts:
GYo · 06/10/2008 08:54

Morning all

Very excited to be back on the wagon properly now.

How is everyone?

Welcome back Sorky!

[Grin]

SesHasapinkline · 05/10/2008 22:13

Sorky - good to have you back and congrats on your baby girl

Glaskham - glad christening worked out ok.

I've had my first sickness free day for a week! Will try and think of it as a good thing. Have got really badly pulling stomach muscles at the moment. Assume this is normal??particularly bad when turning over in bed or when moving from lying down to sitting up. Feels like I did 50 sit ups yesterday, which I didn't!

Hope everyone's had good wkend and that's why it's been so quiet!

OP posts:
sorkycake · 05/10/2008 21:29

hi everyone,
sorry I've been awol, but back now, though if Dh asks I'm looking for some educational stuff for the kids.
Well I'm due on the 10th Feb and it's a girl, so that's neatly 2 of each, though now the pressure is on for a name.
Sorry I haven't had a chance to catch up or read more than the last few posts but LL and Moos have kindly kept in touch and updated me when they've needed too.

Tink-snap! so pleased you got your scan and she cooperated.

How is everyone? I'm feeling pretty good health-wise, gathering stuff for the baby, generally shitting myself over the birth. I'm more scared this time then for any of the others.

oh.....and I'm craving coleslaw.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 05/10/2008 21:26

wow its been really quiet on here today!! I'm only online because i was bidding on a cotbed... and i won it!! so i'm all exited!! will be sending DH to collect it sometime this next week!!

ended up going to the christening and it was pretty good to catch up with my old friends. not seen most of them properly for over 12mths!!

Right i'm off to bed, boiler isn't working so DH has to have a look at it!! going to get warm in bed before DH gets in from footy!!

tinkisgoingtohaveagirl · 05/10/2008 17:24

have just finished putting bits in nursery put sheets, fleece blanket and cuddly teddies in cot.
a few teddies and toys on shelves and all clothes in draws is exciting

wilsonmummy · 05/10/2008 15:08

Hey all!!

Have finally moved but having to stay with my dad at the moment as house not livable, it's a building site!! 4 adults 2 children and 2 border collies in a house is a bit manic!!

Tink... congrats hon i have 2 little princesses and dd1 mothers dd2 which is really lovely to watch!!

BB... Sounds like a def possibility! will keep my fingers crossed for you!!

Deige... Nits!! oh no i haven't had the pleasure of the little critters yet but i'm sure i will do!!

Hi to everyone else to much to keep up with!when i came on here a week ago we were on page 6 we're now on page 18!!! Busy busy thread!

LaTourEiffel · 05/10/2008 13:12

Morning all - just a quick catch up, have PIL here so can't be on for long!

Tink - Congrats on DD2! Is your DD ok with it, as she seemed quite set on a baby brother?

Diege - I've been running around the park outside my house, and can never work out when the man on my podcast is going to tell me to run (so can't work out how many running sections are left each time) so end up going in all sorts of different directions. Its my last run of week 2 today, if the weather stays dry enough - I'll be going a bit later though, after the PIL have gone.

BB - Sounds exciting! Keep us posted!

NJ - Not sure how I'd get it, or even if I should as its quite optimistic...but I'm curious about your chair - I wanted one for DS but couldn't afford it back then (not when we had no carpets, they took priority!) but DH promised I could have one second time around....maybe I'd have to come and visit and try it out

BBeingpatient · 05/10/2008 11:51

trying desperately not too but...
have had a few days of utter mindfuzz absent mindedness, and have been feeling nauseus after eating and in the mornings however that could be down to getting bread out of my system as i have a mild bread sensitivity..it makes me sick if i eat more than a slice etc, sickness which in theory could have also affected the pill as ive had some (TMI!!) toilet accompliments too.

TBH im not sure there's much of a chance but we were GOFing mid and end of pill induced cycle and experts say sperm can live for a while so i spose i will just have to wait and see...something im no good at!!!x

SesHasapinkline · 05/10/2008 11:47

Ooh! Sounds like your pill won't have been effective so maybe will depend on when you ovulated. Have you started symptom spotting?!

OP posts:
BBeingpatient · 05/10/2008 11:39

well ses.....

DP and i arent really at it alot lately but at the weekends we make up for it IYSWIM ? and this cycle ive missed a few pills, prob averaging one a week and particularly a few this week at least three this week.... am due on next week anywhen frm thurs so we shall see, but there is a slight chance..... however it throws up its own complications doesnt it? i mean DP wouldnt be unhapy or anything but we had said dec and also it would make work awkward however i spose i wouldnt need to say anything until jan. I still have an early indication test left from when we were TTC, so i think if No AF by next sat it will be
POAS time!!

although im trying not to get my hopes up too much x

SesHasapinkline · 05/10/2008 11:30

BB - vague possibility??! Spill girl!
