LOL LB, teach 'em well I say!

Actually I must admit, for all of my bad habits, the kids don't do too badly, DS1 won't touch any veg, but will eat fruit, DS2 just eats whatever is put in front of him (including numorous things that aren't made for eating!) and while they both like the odd piece of chocolate, they don't actually eat that much of it because I eat it all first

lardybump · 11/09/2008 17:38

I drink about 6 pints of fluid a day. Sometimes water other times watered down fruit juice...... I eat lots of fruit as well (usually washed down with a nice cake!!) DD can not walk past a starbucks with out screaming mummy cakey.... Dp now knows why sainsburys takes us so long... he he he

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 11/09/2008 17:19

Diege · 11/09/2008 17:15

Sounds great LB, I love TopShop maternity stuff. LOL TINKs I thought your ref to having 'a water every two hours' was you being posh about weeing

lardybump · 11/09/2008 16:56

Yay I get a silver one.....

I got a top and jeans in Topshop and a pair of grey casual trousers in dotty p's. REally pleased as all my other bits were either to small now I am so fat on my legs, or too big as my bump is not huge yet.

tinkhasanactivebean · 11/09/2008 16:53

Diege · 11/09/2008 16:51

TINKS - 8 glasses of water a day is one of the best things you can do for your health. Gold star to you (silver to Lardy) Tin for Nat

Diege · 11/09/2008 16:49

Oh well, it's a start LB . What maternity bits did you get?
All this talk of healthy food has had me reaching for the Galaxy Cake bars . So much for sweet cravings having gone...I blame it on af. 'Tummy' is much better thanks Nat

tinkhasanactivebean · 11/09/2008 16:46

well i take pregnacare
i dont drink coke or other fizzy drinks
i dont drink tea or coffee
i only have 1 -2 chocolate bars a day (small ones)
i drink 6-8 glasses of water a day.
so maybe i dont do to bad after all
and do plenty of walking and rushing around after dd.
bits sound good lb cant beat abit of retail therapy
have just been to next and bought dd 2 pairs o jeans ad a dress, top and tights set and ordered the rest of her winter bits from next onto my account.
have just cleared out all of her clothes drawers of summer bits.
have only got her clothes(undewear, pjs, tights etc) in bottom draw and have hung up jeans tops and dresses.
now i can use draws for the babies clothes which is exciting can put white babygro in later, hat and booties.
we havent got much space as they will be sharing should have space now

i am as indecisive as you nat can never make my mind up

lardybump · 11/09/2008 16:21

That's what pregnacare is for ladies, so you can relax a bit on your diet..

Diege I got some porridge today only I made it into flap jacks I am a nightmare, I was so determined then I saw the golden syrup...... Shame on me!!!!!

Hi to everyone I went shopping today and bought myself some nice new maternity bits. I feel naughty but very nice......

Hope you are all well. Nat I love them both so can not help......

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 11/09/2008 16:00

Damn it, one word always fucks up!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 11/09/2008 16:00

Oh, just to redeem myself a bit, we eat a lot of salad, and it isn't unheard of me to get DH-- to go and get me big plate full in the evening and sit and munch away, after dinner

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 11/09/2008 15:57

Tink, I am still on the Barn Yard stuff, but like I said, I'm likely to change my mind and back again before we buy!

On the food front, I am not a big fruit eater but I find if I 'force' myself to start eating it, I actually enjoy it more than I think I will (grapes, satsumas, and water melon are big players in this game!) I tolerate veggies, problem is: the way I like them cooked takes all the goodness out of them. I like them soft and mushy, and if not with gravy then with butter/olive oil, and lots of it

Apologies to Xmas and Wilson for not saying hello and welcome to the thread Xmas, coke is my downfall, I have either completely cut out or calmed down on all the usual things you should (even my beloved odd ciggarette, I would do almost anything to have just one!!) but coke has been the worst to cut out completely. I drink a lot of water and pure fruit juice, but I can't help the odd coke sneaking in every now and then.

Now I am wondering just how un-healthy I am!! Would never have my eating/drinking habits down and ultra healthy, but this is showing up all my sins in one place!

Diege, hope your erm.... tummy is better now?

wilsonmummy · 11/09/2008 15:11

Hi everyone,Thanks for the warm welcome especialy EmmahasaBFP who introduced me to this website! i so need to get pregnant now i'm so jealous ya minx!
I can't wat to start looking at new prams and nursery decorations again!!

Diege · 11/09/2008 15:02

Afternoon! Back from lovely Tapas restaurant in the village, but obviously something didn;t agree with me and have been on tiolet for the past half hour . Oh well, lovely meal and none of the calories
Food wise I'm super-healthy at the moment [smug] after mmc. Gave up coffee, tea and diet coke (I had the headaches too XMAS for about 3 days) and now just have two cups of decaff tea a day and lots of fizzy water. Try and eat as much fruit and veg as poss (not a great fruit fan)and have super duper fertility supplements too. Still have a blow out once a week - takeaway etc, but don't have my old sugar cravings anymore.
TINKS - have you though about fruit smoothies etc? I think the sugar and artifical sweeter outdo the fruit in ribena and squash etc - maybe something like fizzy water mixed with fresh juice? Cheese grated on top of veggies? Veggy lasagne? Current guidelines suggest not more than one servinf of mackeral a week in pregnany according to M&B mag , so you can use that one as ammo for dh

cantwaitforxmas · 11/09/2008 14:49

I do manage to eat lots of fruit and veg though - just accompanied by LOTS of everything else.

cantwaitforxmas · 11/09/2008 14:48

I thought that since we aren't going to start ttc until Dec/Jan this would be a great time to improve diet/exercise/etc. Also am a couple of stone overweight and hopefully losing some of that will make ttc quicker (or at least be an excuse to go out and buy some lovely new underwear to encourage lots of GOFing ) . Gave up coke yesterday (I drink gallons of the stuff) and have had terrible headaches all day so feel like I want to go home (rather than gym) and eat some lovely comforting choc. Oh well......

tinkhasanactivebean · 11/09/2008 14:34

does anyone else eat unhealthy.
i am not very good with fruit and veg.
i dont eat any fruit but drink ribena and other fruit squash and i only eat brocolli.
for meals in the evening we eat pizza a couple of times a week, chicken goujons, filled pasta.
know i am pregnant and dh is moaning @ me to eat mackarel and lots of veg etc does it really matter?
i ate no different when pregnant with dd i have always been fussy

tinkhasanactivebean · 11/09/2008 14:30

hi

definetly barnyard nat like you say is more for babys really cute luv the little chicks.
and with the colours so adorable
diege lol @ eyebrows

well we went to tesco this morning to get tweezers didnt have any
so went into town got some in boots. came home did them still look awful have booked into have them done tom @ 9:30am while dd is @ nursery.

also in town bought dd trainers and gorgeous red winter boots
just need to get her some winter clothes now then will be sorted
going to order her sone nursery tshirts and jumpers tom.
the new baby will be sharing with dd so wont really be able to decorate with nursery beeding planning on using old bedding from dd.
her room has a fairy theme walls are plain pea green.

will prob get some pics to put above cot.

we had a lokk around our infant school in catchment looked nice as dd will probably end up going there, it is very hard to get into a non catchment school around here.
the ofsted for it is very bad and rates very poor in maths english and science.
our house is only up for sale wth graham and co for another 3 weeks then we are going to leave it and stay here.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 11/09/2008 14:19

Play room's done, well as done as it can be with me putting things in, and DS2 promptly pulling it all back out again Just got his follow up eye appointment through for next Wednesday, oh what fun...!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 11/09/2008 11:46

Sorry furniture arrived for the play room Sooo excited to get all their crap and junk toys and bits away

Cal sorry DS is poorly, the only other thing is to make sure he is drinking enough, don't worry about food if he isn't fussed, just juice. Best thing is full sugar cordial with an extra added tea spoon of sugar if he starts to get a bit dehydrated.

Re. the nursery stuff, you can buy it from independant on-line shops Andy's Linens and Precious Little One have a lot of it in stock. Think I will go with the Barn Yard, I really want to avoid another blue room, but it hasn't got too much blue in it has it? And although I really like the Zanzibar one (could have it in my room!!) it not very baby-ish is it? Will probably change my mind 1000 times before we order it.

Think I'll have my cake now before getting started on the play room

Diege · 11/09/2008 10:56

Go on then toss the rest of that cake over to me then

Dalrymps · 11/09/2008 10:48

Cake for me please mmm

Diege · 11/09/2008 10:48

I like the Zanzibar one NAT . But then I tend to go with things on impulse and 'gut feeling', rather than being practical (hence now trying to match things to dd3's lime green shoes )I wouold thing along the lines of getting all I could get in the Zanzibar collection (not all at once of course), then if things needed adding, maybe get them in browns and creams? Just another voice to add to your confusion! .
CALS - poor you and ds I think calpol is the way to go - maybe a cool flannel if he's feverish, lots of fluids etc Hopefully just ba 24 hour thing .
You sound in good spirits 2BG - may grill you about the CBFM thingy if I have no luck in a month or two..or would you say it's a good investment come pay day?? AF is def on its way, as getting classic menstrual migraine, spot on time wise for weekend af . Not at all surprised, as missing ov (I think?) wouldn't have helped, plus I get another month (at least) to get this fertility diet cracked. Still feel a bit flat though..think it's hitting home a bit now the new term's started at work that I don't have what I thought I'd be having come Feb to look forward to iyswim?
Anyway, got to look forward . Oh and TINKS I now have gorgeous eyebrows after your post inspired me to dig my Tweezerman's out .
Haven't heard from SES on here for a few days. Hope things are OK and you're managing not to worry too much
