Morning all

Tink, glad DD enjoyed her day! Is she back there again today?

about monkeybumsmum, I guess she is getting enough support on the MC thread, will be thinking of her.

DS2 is wailing, I expect he wants to come out of his highchair, and I expect my sneeky 5 mins of MN time has come to an abrupt end!

Be back later xxx

SesHasapinkline · 04/09/2008 07:57

Morning all!

tink - glad dd had a good time at nursery. Also fab news about another viewing - fingers crossed!

Diege - hope your training course was ok. Sometimes I can find them a bit draining.

Cal - I've read the book "The Other Boleyn Girl" but not seen the film yet. Must catch it at some point. Did you enjoy it?

Diege · 03/09/2008 18:49

Hello! Been in a training course all day so on;y logging on to compuyer now .
Great that dd enjoyed nursery TINKS - must be a relief .
Spa sounds great idea CALS - oh and would you beleive it I had the same poo thing 3 days after ERPC - shooting pains down left side - even rang hossy. Then after poo all was fine! Must be our bits rearranging themselves! (sorry if anyone's tucking in).
GYO- let me know if you solve the eternal shoe dilemma..I walk to station and back and have had to resort to wearing converse boots and taking heels in bag - so not a good look .
DAL - fingers crossed - you never know!
DDs first day back at school tomorrow, and am working at home [ahem] so willbe nice be get back to normal mumsnet-wise!
CALS - thanks to link to monkey's thread - I'll have a look now

tinkhasanactivebean · 03/09/2008 18:47

calsworld · 03/09/2008 18:17

Oh Tink, that's great news!

I watched, 'The Other Boleyn Girl', I don't get to watch period dramas when DH is here - so that's never then.

I can't believe how quiet its been.

Dalrymps · 03/09/2008 15:43

Oh good, thats great tink

tinkhashadherfirstkick · 03/09/2008 15:17

dd loved her first day she did really well

Dalrymps · 03/09/2008 14:50

Ooh I want a spa day too! No idea if there's anywhere round here like that and haven't got much spare cash though. May just have to make do with a massage from dh

GYo · 03/09/2008 13:44

No probs, enjoy your film.

Take care....

PS might be finding myself a spa day now

calsworld · 03/09/2008 13:27

Am going off line for a while to watch a film.

See you later, thanks for keeping me company GYo x

calsworld · 03/09/2008 13:25

GYo, if I thought you lived anywhere near me I'd say lets do it. I hate doing stuff by myself. Doing it closer to time of going back to work is a good idea.

Had a phone call from Ikea - the mattress is being delivered next Thursday. I didn't mention - I bought a topper as well

Comfortable nights sleep here we come!

GYo · 03/09/2008 13:15

Hmm do appreciate the being arsed to go somewhere issue... Maybe plan it closer to time of going back to work, use it as chance to get yourself "back out" etc...

I love spa days- I want to come now!

GYo · 03/09/2008 13:12

ooh Cal! they all sound great... Elemis facials are lovely, I had one a few weeks ago...

"Gerard's warm chocolate back massage - approx 45 minutes" - thats sounds too good to be true!!!

Could you persuade DH to come too? Have a real treat for the pair of you? My DH loves that kind of thing but understand many might not....

which one will you go for?

OP posts:
calsworld · 03/09/2008 13:10

Their five hour aqua relaxation rooms at £18.50 sounds nice too.

This is all very lovely, but not sure if I can be arsed to go upstairs and have a shower, never mind get arse into gear and GO somewhere!

calsworld · 03/09/2008 13:05

I've been to champneys springs resort a fair few times before (very pricey, always special offers) but not tried the alton towers one.

It looks much better value for money and last time I went to springs I was pg with DS, my Big Sis treated me - it was very lovely but probably not what I'm trying to acheive this time around

calsworld · 03/09/2008 13:02

GYo...what do you think?

GYo · 03/09/2008 12:57

phew- glad you are going for treat not pain...

OP posts:
GYo · 03/09/2008 12:54

OOh lovely to get a new mattress. Very exciting indeed. That will be nice treat when it arrives!

Great about planning some spa treatments.... can you find somewhere that lets you go for whole day? can lounge by a pool have couple of things done? I say have massage and eyebrows...maybe a facial too? Im a woooss re bikini waxes... prefer the trim method (sorry TMI)so not the right person to encourage...

Let me know how you go with the rubber broom.. I have similar issue with cat hair!

No shoe shopping... wasnt time in the end and I didnt want to be rushed... maybe tomorrow

OP posts:
calsworld · 03/09/2008 12:49

Hmmmm, have just read that waxing is more painful around time of period so guess now maybe just as bad a time.

Perhaps I'll have a manicure instead - I'm sure DH will be just as delighted

calsworld · 03/09/2008 12:46

God, it really is like tumble weed in here today....

GYo (and any other lurkers) I've also bought a rubber broom . I'm utterly fed up of having a lounge carpet that permanently looks like I've never hoovered because of the dog fur that clings, despite a very good vacuum cleaner. I'm hoping it does the trick and plan to introduce my cleaners to it....

calsworld · 03/09/2008 12:29

Well, GYo, have been thinking about it...also wanted to tell someone as am sadly rather excited....

I've bought a new bed mattress! I've wanted one for years. We've got an Ikea bed and mattress and I truly hate it - I can feel all the springs.

We ordered a replacement last Septemeber but idiot me ordered the wrong size...so got it collected and never got round to replacing it again.

It should be delivered next week!

Also, I've been thinking about some real life spa treatment....top of the list is an eyebrow re-shape as they've gone cRaZy and I can't trim them as much as they need doing...and was considering.............gulp................a bikini wax, which I've never done before but thought it might be a nice surprise for DH?! Will probably chicken out though.

What do you reckon? WOnder if perhaps a massage might be better

GYo · 03/09/2008 12:10

Hi Cal - today Im working in the office even er - been working at home looking after DH for last 2 days. Means less time for MNing working silently and making progress

Though I am thinking of going to buy some shoes in my lunchbreak- good retail therapy need something smart looking that is comfy enough to walk to and from station in as well as not making me look about 60. Quite a challenge-

What about you Cal- are you planning anything nice to treat yourself this week or next? a real life Wagon spa treatment ?
