hi everyone else... i'm too tired and sleepy to read everything i've missed!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 04/09/2008 17:02

dal- just wanted to add my piece on small age gaps...

my 2 have only 15.5mths between them, and i will admit it hit me hard having 2 so close together, however, i do think that was becasue DS had been such a 'good baby' we expected another the same and DD was very clingy and demanding. DS was easily entertained watching me clean etc from a small age, and i wanted DD to be the same so i could still do housework and spend time with DS alone too as he was still so young (with DD watching from playmat etc). But she was very clingy, didn't like being put down etc, so it hit me hard.

when dd was 9wks old i was diagnosed with PND and given AD's. I took them for around 2 weeks and didn't feel any better, one day i forgot to take them all together and the next day too and realised i felt normal, better on my own...

I think the hard time was just adjusting to having 2 babies almost... but within 3mths i was in a good routine with both DC's, and was fine. And now its well worth the hard work!!

LOL Cal, I'm keeping going as best I can . Will gof tonight and then please god let my CM dry up so my fanjo can get some rest . Your afternoon sounds good - telly is great to give the mind a rest I think!
Bummer about having to cancel your albums TINKS. I must get listing again on e-bay as I've overspent and needs funds for hairdressers next week!
Dal - your choice but it sounds like you're gearing up to ttc NOW to me Go on...it gets everyone sooner or later on this wagon
Right, attemting non-packet cheese sauce - wish me luck!

tinkhasanactivebean · 04/09/2008 16:53

calsworld · 04/09/2008 16:10

Dal - I didn't get a BFP for either pg with CBD until 2 days late....

I've spent most of the day on the sofa, DH is next to me working from home which is nice. I've spent the day alternating between reading the 'comedy moments in childbirth' thread, and catching up on all the recorded episodes of last choir standing on telly. Best bit about recording it is that I could just fast forward all the guffy emotional bits and play the singing.

Diege, GS suggestion of ovulation all being a bit wonky sounds plausible (sp?) to me, definitley keep GOF'ing I say!

Dalrymps · 04/09/2008 15:03

Cool, I love photobox, got some pics from there of ds a while ago

Diege - still thinking about it

Still no AF , where has it got to? FF says i'm on CD 30. My cycle is usually 26-28 days. Suppose that only makes me 1 day late really?

tinkhasanactivebean · 04/09/2008 14:46

i'm here tink flys in

bought on ebay a baby album to put 3-d scan pics in and a disney snowwhite one for dds pics, just about to order pics off of photobox

Dalrymps · 04/09/2008 14:44

I know, where is everyone?

Diege · 04/09/2008 14:30

Come on you guys, I'm trying to avoid doing any work here

Diege · 04/09/2008 11:32
Grin
Dalrymps · 04/09/2008 11:30

Sounds good, only thing is I would be totally SAH as in, no nursery so I might go maaaaaad! will have a think about it

Diege · 04/09/2008 11:07

Hi Dal, to be honest I found the transition from one to two pretty easy, depite dd1 being only 15 months (and just walking) when dd2 came along. I think because I was still into the baby stage, it really didn't feel like I was doing much extra, and dd2 fitted in really well. Having said that she was a 'good' baby though (nightmare toddler!), and as I also went back to work when dd1 was 4 months and dd2 6 months, dd1 was in nursery 4 days a week when dd2 was born. One other change I made was that I bottle fed dd2 from day one (had bf dd1)just really to make the day to day a little easier (dd1 was a 'snacker') I really wouldn't change a thing as the gap really suited out family dynamics .
Go on Dal...you know you want to!

Dalrymps · 04/09/2008 11:05

Oh for god's sake!!! 'I didn't know that' argh!!!!

Dalrymps · 04/09/2008 11:04

That was meant to say 'I dodn't know that'

Dalrymps · 04/09/2008 10:57

Diege - I don't know that, was it really hard in the early days when they were both young? I think thats what i'm most worried about... The way you describe them both holding hands etc is sooo sweet

Diege · 04/09/2008 09:58

Hi Gruff! I'd like to think so, but think it's just a post-mc messed up cycle to be honest. I'm just pleased to be back in the saddle tbh, and am happy to keep up with the gof-fing!
DAL, I've got a gap of 16 months between dd1 and dd2, and it really was the best decision we made to have them so close. They are so close - always hold hands when out without giving it a second thought, and chat like a pair of little old women in their bunk beds. They are also very protective of each other which is sweet to watch. I really wish I had started ttc no. 4 earlier so that we could have had the same gap between dd3 and no.4!

GruffaloSoldier · 04/09/2008 09:46

Hey Diege

Maybe your body didnt ovulate before and is trying to do it again?

Dalrymps · 04/09/2008 09:43

Thanks ladies,

Diege - Just npt sure about bringing ttc forward, i'm worried I won't be able to coap with such a small age gap (I know I would if I had to). For some reason, in my mind, 23 months is faaaaar more managable than 18 months, in reality there's probably not a lot of difference!

Plus, i'm a bit worried what others will thinks if I go for such a small gap...

Good that you've got plenty EWM, go for it!!!

Diege · 04/09/2008 09:36

Morning Good to have a skiving working from home day so Ican get bits done and keep up with MN chat .
Bad luck DAL, although the CBDs are notriously bad at picking up early pregnancy. Have you thought about bringing your ttc date forward? Just seems a shame to get back on the wagon iyswim!
HI NAT, hope you're feeling well and that ds gives you some respite! TINKS - tis sooo hard when they play up and you are tired - good advice as always from TEUCH - wish I could be as calm.. Good luck with viewing on Sat (?) too!GYO, will look forward to reading about youe scan tomorrow - v.exciting! HI SES, no more hpts I hope . Agree, training days are the worst - I gave up at 3.45 and made my excuses .
Well I don't know what my body's doing . WEnt for wee this morning (as you do) and loads of EWM on the side of my hand, after wiping , literally dripping off my wrist . I thought, ooh, must tell the girls . Don't think it's ovulation (I'm on cd19) but it's my goff day anyway so nothign to lose. Think my body's lost the plot a bit this month, as I keep getting EWM every few days, then followed at next toilet visit by the thick stuff. Many apologies if you're having porridge .

GYo · 04/09/2008 09:35

hi

thanks gruff- will definitely post a picture . Good luck with the new family and telling about being PG. Also hope the scan date comes soon- very annoying?

Dal- sorry about the BFN, but as Gruffalo says, means lots more practice!

Morning Ses, NJ, Cal and everyone else.

Canteen porridge not settling well at all?. hoping it will stay put!

GruffaloSoldier · 04/09/2008 09:29

Morning all!

Dal - sorry to hear of BFN- but heres to loads more GOFs eh?

Gyo - if i dont speak to you before you go good luck for the scan. i hope everything is lovely. you will post a scan pic won't you?

Tink - sorry to hear of your DD's behaviour. Hope she lets up soon

I am getting very impatient about my scan date as mw said I would hear within the week. Patience isn't my strong point though!

I am starting looking after some different children this afternoon. So a new job! Im very nervous as I already know the family quite well and am going to have to tell them that Im pg in case the mum wants to get someone else. It is a bit worrying but I found out I was pg the day after i accepted the job!I know I don't have to tell them yet but I do really as Im supposed to be getting the child with lang diffs up to speed for school next September, but come April that might be a bit more difficult! Its only a day a week though.

ok enough of my ramblings

Teuch · 04/09/2008 09:19

Morning all!

Tink - I think they can pick up on the fact that (whether you are tired, sick, distracted, etc) they can often push you a bit further than usual or get 'yes' when they usually would have gotten a 'no'. DS is in a very cheeky and disobedient stage, but only really with me. I try to give lots of cuddles and respond to shouting with calm talk, and am very strict about taking away a favourite toy or forbidding a treat if he hits/bites or dangerous disobedience. God knows what's for best but I try...

Gyo - how exciting!

Dalrymps · 04/09/2008 09:09

Morning everyone!

GYo - wow one day to go, I rememeber that feeling of being nervous and excited all at once!

Ses and NJ - hi

No porridge for me today, jam on toast, although the 1st round of toast got burnt so it took me twice as long to make it grr

Well, I coouldn't wait any longer so I did my new CBD, it said 'Not Pregnant'

Not sure how I feel, I think a little bit relieved that I don't have to deal with being pregnant as well as the decorating but part of me also thinks that if I had of been we'd have just got on with it... Probably best to wait till jan when it's more convienent.
