Thought I'd start a new thread for those of us who are out for May. Love to see some of my old friends here as well as maybe some new ones

Hi lmm, I wouldn't have a clue either I'm afraid.

But was just thinking to myself today about the whole 'cycle & journey of the egg thing' - ie, for me, cycle starts, bleed for about a week, week of nothing, then ovulation time, then the 2 week trip of the egg through all the tubes and stuff during which time I will have about a week of PMT symptoms before the whole thing starts again.

So, not much time where there's not alot happening really apart from the one week before before ovulation.

But from this basic breakdown I guess it could be potentially possible to ovulate whilst bleeding if you had a short cycle, although I reckon it would have to be very short indeed.

You would have to bleed for an extended time, ovulate sooner than 2 weeks after CD1 and then have a short luteal phase I suppose(?!)

Why do you ask?

Everything crossed for you that the old red witch dont come knocking MamaMimi x

Can I ask what is probably a really stupid question Can you ovulate whilst still bleeding, I just thought today, what if you had a really short cycle and bled for a long time each month, not that it is really relevant for me as my cycles are usually super duper long but just wondered?

Hi MrsMcJnr... sorry the microscope didn't work for you...have brought one now which arrived this morning and am hoping, dearly hopeing, it works for me. Also brought it from that website you listed as I also find it to be fairly well priced and prompt on the delivery.

The other thing that arrived this morning was my clearblue trial tester. Am sooooooo excited. Can't wait to get to the stage when i can actually use it. However, am a little bit confused, I thought these tests were not being sold at present. I have found them in boots being sold....

Massive welcome to you newbies...great to see this thread so active...

Littlemissmischief ? www.accessdiagnostic.co.uk/ is a great site for cheap pg and ovulation tests by the way. I personally don?t rate ov tests, sometimes they worked for me and other months they didn?t and I?m sure that I got myself so worked up sometimes that I didn?t ovulate as a result. I found watching fertility signs far more reliable. Sometimes I did use ov tests to back up what I thought was happening.

JLo2 ? I had a similar experience to you on my birthday the year before last, we?d been TTC for 6 months and I got my AF 3 days early on my birthday, I was gutted but I got pregnant the next cycle so I don?t know if it was just the right time for me or if wishing when you blow out the candles really works!

Congrats MrsLeroy I?m dying to see those lovely lines again!!

Waiting2exhale ? I found that microscope useless!! Sold it to another Mumsnetter but I don?t think she got on with it that well either!! You can get them on the sit I?ve linked above quite cheaply.

Kiwikat ? I was mega feisty when I was pregnant! fingers crossed.

Thanks LMM - that's the sort of stuff I'm after!

MrsMcJnr · 30/08/2008 17:36

Hello can I join you? DH and I would really like to get a BFP with Baby no 2 but I only stopped BFing DS (7 months) a couple of weeks ago and am still waiting for my 1st AF post birth. We are TTC but only on the off chance at the mo but I might as well join you all and get my head round it all again! Did a test this morning just in case but it was BFN oh well!

littlemissmischief · 30/08/2008 17:25

Kiwikat - cant really remember if I had pmt symptoms with DS I know I did after I found out till about 8 months but also I think all the stress of am I, arent I can also make you feel like ripping someones head off and you tend to over analyse stuff too.

I really hope it is a massive rush of hormones cos of a BFP on the way for you tho . In the mean time have a cup of tea and try to relax x

KiwiKat · 30/08/2008 17:04

I don't think I want to know the answer to this, but go on, tell me - can you still get PMT symptoms if you're pregnant? I was VERY irritable yesterday, and swore A LOT. To be fair, I had every right to be/do both (plonker client was hugely annoying and wasted a whole day of my work) but I felt I had the superhuman strength to rip someone's head off, and that really only happens when I'm in full-blown PMT.

I really want to hear that PMT rage can still occur whilst you're pregnant ...

JLo2 · 30/08/2008 11:28

Well done for not testing funkybumps. The 2ww is horrible and feels like an emotional rollercoaster every month for me. Feel free to 'go on' as much as you like if it helps We all understand how you are feeling. Good luck

funkybumps · 30/08/2008 11:13

thanks mamamimi for the baby dust xx

Am waiting very patiently until Tuesday for AF. Sorry for going on talking about it but it is the only way I can restrain myself from testing !! How do you all cope with the 2ww ?? Only being ttc for a short time and already it's driving me mad !!

littlemissmischief · 29/08/2008 21:11

Your more than welcome MamaMimi, could you please do the same for me next month

Ohh and thanks for the babydust! x

MamaMimi · 29/08/2008 20:48

Thanks lmm for wishing AF away for me, but it feels fairly imminent at the mo'.

Really hope there's lots of June babies from this thread.

* baby dust for us all ***

littlemissmischief · 29/08/2008 19:18

Hey Mamamimi hope the red witch stays away for you, and Hi Beanmother I still dont know some of the codes and I've been here ages but asking people on here is the easiest thing I find

Just worked out that my AF could fall on when we are on holiday in Oct if I have a long cycle this month which wou;ld be rubbish cos cant wait to take ds swimming again plus obviously dont want an AF anyway but aswell we are going with family and wont want to drink if AF hasnt turned up - Oh the dilemas!!! My best case senario will be neing pg and having a BFP by then or having had my AF well before I go so we can enjoy hoilday and try again next time!

MamaMimi · 29/08/2008 18:48

Hi, I have been ttc for a while and would love a June baby, so could I join in this thread please.

I'm TTC#2, on CD27 today, no AF yet but I'm expecting her to call any time - all the usual symptoms.

So next time of trying would result in June baby if successful!

Linwin · 29/08/2008 18:24

Woo, that sounds very fancy waiting2exhale - let us know how you get on.
Luckily (or not) I have loads of that EWCM stuff so I always know when I am OV'ing, its just fun that its never at the same point in the month. The first month we tried it was really early and DH was away and last month it was really late and we'd exhausted ourselves by then.

beanmother yes you are TTC # 2 - but check out the link at the top of the page which has all the acronyms - you'll get the hang of it in no time!

Can you believe I am still at work at this time on a friday night!

beanmother · 29/08/2008 18:12

Hello!

I'd like to join in but don't understand the codes .
We're trying for our second - so is that TTC#2?

Philippa

Waiting2Exhale · 29/08/2008 17:50

Hi Linwin, the saliva microscope thing is another device (if you can call it that) that is able to detect when ovulation is about to occur based on formations created by your saliva. Have heard and read it can be quite good, but there are afew out there and am not sure which one would be the best to get. They are about £20 and can last anything from 2yrs to a life time.

funkybumps · 29/08/2008 17:44

ok, I didn't test ( smug face )

My clearblue test arrived this morning aswell so twice the temptation !!

TBH I think I'm kidding myself this month as I can feel the twinges of my AF brewing in the not so distant future. Just want it to be Tuesday so I'll know one way or the other !!

littlemissmischief · 29/08/2008 17:00

Afternoon ladies

summerwhatsummer · 29/08/2008 16:59

hi - can I join you too?

TTC1, 3 MCs so far but still stupidly optimistic and hopeful. And June would be a lovely month...!

I'm CD15 today. Planned to have a complete shag fest this month but people keep staying and our house is so small that we would be heard! So managed CD 11 and CD 14. Had EWCM yesterday and today and told DH to get home as early as possible. But I have developed really painful cystitis this afternoon - WHY TODAY?!? - and the thought of sex is just too painful.

My cycles vary between 27 - 31 days...If I skip it today am I scuppering my chances? Or should I just go with the pain and BD anyway?

Jael · 29/08/2008 16:29

Sorry AF got you leaky. Have a good holiday, you got room in your suitcase for me?

I'm gonna say hi to everyone, but not join quite yet... CD34 for me today. I'm 5 weeks "pregnant" tomorrow, but it's a possible chemical pregnancy. If anyone wants to read more about it, so I don't take up loadsa space on here, I've got a thread called "If anyone has had a chemical pregnancy can you help me please"

Jael x

leaky · 29/08/2008 16:24

Hi everyone,

I'm jumping over from the May thread to join you all if that's ok as AF arrived today. It's actually been really good to have a day of not wondering if I could be pregnant or not.

Please add me to the list.I'm on CD1, ttc#3 cycle 2.My cycle is spot on day 34 which means AF won't be due again until October! Oh my goodness, I can't believe I will have to wait until then to find out if I get pregnant this month.October sounds so far away but quite scarey that it's only 34 days away!

I'm off on holiday tomorrow but will check in again when I return. As I jet off I'll sprinkle baby dust over you all

JLo2 · 29/08/2008 15:07

Welcome KiwiKat.
You're right a June baby would be lovely, mind you if you're CD18 you're probably still sneak into May. Let's just say a Spring baby! I haven't got one of those yet
