Hello,

A week to go until I can test. How you all doing on symptom spotting?

alfiemama · 11/09/2008 09:43

Hi All

Not done the deed yet, keep putting it off, daft I lknow

AbstractMouse, sorry about your loss, I followed your thread so know you went through it a bit, hope your ok.

1LittlePrincess · 10/09/2008 23:28

Ow, hadnt thought about Xmas announcements Exciting Stuff! Picturing a copy of scan pic inside selected Xmas cards........OK,OK im getting way ahead of myself LOL, havnt even Ov'd yet

Alfiemama Taking a EMU sample and leaving it until you have a test should be fine if it in a sealed container. Have my fingers crossed for you

Welcome AbstractMouse sorry to hear of your loss . I had a m/c in April and my cycles have been abit all over the place since. Hopefully you managed to catch the egg this cycle

x

AbstractMouse · 10/09/2008 22:58

Btw think it would be fine Alfiemama, I'm sure I read that the hcg only begins to break down after 24 hours. Worth a go anyway.

AbstractMouse · 10/09/2008 22:56

Hi all can I join CD20 I think today? First cycle after a miscarriage and I think I have ovulated late this month. Usually Ov around CD13/14 , had ewcm for a couple of days adn ov pains today, although only dtd early (4am) sunday morning so not holding out much hope for this cycle but possible I suppose and with dtd so early may be a girl if by some miracle I do concieve.

alfiemama · 10/09/2008 21:40

ps

If I was to do a test tommorow, would it work if I collect a sample in the morning and then leave it until I get a preg test, sorry if this is a really daft question but will be ok if left for a while feel really thick now,

alfiemama · 10/09/2008 21:34

Hi everyone, (waving madly)

Still no af, really nearly told hubby before and to get a test, but I didn't. Really don't want to get his hopes up.

Im on day 40 now and no sign at all, its so hard to not start dreaming of Xmas and the big announcement and names etc.

Littlemiss the book is great I used the opks years ago so technology may have moved on a little, not sure, but I got a bit disheartened with them, don't think I really knew what I was doing

anyhoo come on girls we can do it (that's me trying to be as positive as I can)

littlemissmischief · 10/09/2008 20:36

Ohh dinkyboysmum me too, im getting a bit dispondant to be honest not even had a faint line so far and already on cd18 so either a mega long cycle or they are not working for me, have heard a few people say they never got a positve the whole time they used them. Hopefully will get a positive soon x

dinkyboysmum · 10/09/2008 20:08

littlemissmichief yes, i'd worked out that one too...a christmas announcement would be great wouldnt it!
i'm in same boat, already have ds1, so kinda thought getting pg would happen quite quickly again wrong! i know it'll be worth that wait, and remind myself that it's already happened once, so it shoudl be OK again, just need to get to grips with the opk thing to maximise chances (this is first cycle with opks).

littlemissmischief · 10/09/2008 19:33

Alfiemama - been trying bout 6 months, not too long i spose but seems it! Seeing as I got pg 3 weeks after getting with my dp (by accident, but a great accident we thought it would be sooo easy! Will look into that book I think, Still hoping the witch doesnt come to you!

1Littleprincess - HaHa you are me! I dont mean to laugh at your pain but I sit there screaming that in my head too so now exactly how you feel! Welcome to the long wait with me hun

1LittlePrincess · 10/09/2008 18:36

Hi All, Hope everyone is well

Girls I know what you mean! It seems like everyone is pregnant around me. Two of my bestfriends are pregnant one is due in March and the other beg May, and they both keep going on about how great it would be if we all had babies around same time again, as there are only a few months between our first DC. I keep smiling and going yes would be quite nice, when really I want to scream "I HAVE BEEN TRYING, BUT ITS NOT WORKING!!!!"

Still no signs of Ov yet CD 13, No CM, no Ov pains, so looks like im joinging a few others for a long cycle although its not all bad as it means that DP going away over the weekend and missing important BD'ing sessions, isnt so bad!

BIG HELLO to alfiemama and dinkyboysmum

alfiemama, hopefully you will get your BFP soon. So fingers crossed x

dinkyboysmum, hope this is your lucky cycle

x

alfiemama · 10/09/2008 13:33

Hi Littlemiss

No Af yet, so not over until the fat lady sings lol

It is hard sometimes when all around you see to be having babies, my brother and girl friend are expecting and dont even seem that interested, said they hope they dont get boisterous boys like mine grrrr and if it will sit in a chair all day, grrrr grrrr

Anyway Im rambling now, Littlemiss, just remind me how long have you been trying for?
Have you read a book called Getting Preganant (I think) by Dr Winston (him of the telly) very good and gives good advice on opk.

littlemissmischief · 10/09/2008 12:23

Alfiemama thats not daft I believe in fate I think if its meant to happen it will although I know that doesnt help when the BFN or AF turns up. I hope that whatever happens you are happy I know what you mean though, Im really worried this wont happen for us for ages (if at all) and ds will be just starting school and feel pushed out so I think now is a great time but it just wont happen for us

Really struggling with working with a pg person too, nobody knows we are trying so its no ones fault they keep going on but it is still difficult not to get annoyed! I know everyone wants me to get pg too tho and they think it will happen with a click of my fingers or something (little do they know).

Still havent got a positive on the Ov sticks and now on CD18 but BD last night anyway so fingers crossed this month will be the month, will be nice to announce it at christmas when im over 12 weeks

Sorry getting slightly ahead of myself there [gives herself a slap]

alfiemama · 09/09/2008 22:22

Hi littlemiss
Thanks you have given me some hope though, even tho we have decided to maybe wait for a little while until Alfie settles into school, I think if it was to happen the decision would be taken out of my hands, I suppose fate, daft I know.

Lots of baby dust and sticky beans to you all.

Congrats Febes

littlemissmischief · 09/09/2008 20:15

Welcome dinkyboysmum, really hope this is your cycle along with the rest of us, loving your positivity - could you share some with me please

dinkyboysmum · 09/09/2008 19:50

well, back to cd3 here...have just booked in for two sesions of relexology nextw eek, heard it can help as cycle seems variable 36-46 days. also taking evening primrose oil and downing grapefruit juice like there's no tomorrow...this is SO going to be my cycle!!
positive vibes & baby dust to you all

littlemissmischief · 09/09/2008 19:07

Hey Alfiemama, nice too see you again, fingers crossed you get the BFP you want soon, I saw your other thread too and just thought id let you know mine range form 31 - 56 days and it took a month to get a positive with my ds so there is still hope

Well still no positive on the Ov sticks and on CD17 today so thinking its either wrong or its gonna be a long month! Think im gonna just BD every other night now anyway and then hopefully catch the ovulation no matter what the test says. Hopefully the sign of alot of cm is good. Think I wont be testing for a long time either Linwin so a bit about that.

Might try the grapefruit juice too have heard good things about it!

Linwin · 09/09/2008 16:05

Febes congratulations on the BFP - exciting stuff.

Good luck to everyone else coming near the end of their cycle and testing times!

Although I am on CD14 I can sort of tell by CM that I'm nowhere near ovulation. Had the longest cycle ever last month and feel like its going to be another long one. I dont' think I'll even be thinking about testing until nearly October!!!

Not sure about the grapefruit juice but I guess if you can stomach drinking it, its worth a try.

madmarriedNika · 09/09/2008 15:08

Good luck with the 2WW all of you... I find it so hard! Not even near ovulating yet so seems like aeons away before I'll be in a position to get excited!

The last 2 times we conceived straight away- but I was probably fitter then and possibly leaner too! So my tips would be moderate exercise & healthy eating (but not low carb)- and also we've always eaten quite a lot of oily fish which I'm sure I've read is meant to be good while TTC...

Many congrats to Febes!

twoplease · 09/09/2008 14:52

Hi everyone,

you are all so good at remembering what the other posts say!!

not a lot going on here - in the 2ww like you Waiting (and others) but am in a wierd situation as I really think it is highly unlikely that I am pg this month because Hubby was ill between CD 11 and 14 and despite using OPKs have no real idea if and when I ovulated!! we shall see - anyway, it means that i am not obsessing this month - have a week to wait before AF due.

Anyone got any general basics tips for TTC that can improve chances? didn't have to try too hard with DC1 but proving a bit tricker this time round - just wondering if there are any obvious things we can be doing (other than the really obvious to improve our chances of conceiving

Waiting2Exhale · 09/09/2008 11:09

Morning all....

I have to say, I agree with Yellowflower... this was the second time I tried grapefruit juice and there seems to be little if any EWCM both months. Usually get some and just wanted to up my chances and increase the amount but that doesn't seemed to have worked. Oh well.... got loads in this month (bding) so can only hope.

MintChocAddict As you can see everyone has had different results...there really doesn't appear to be any right answer....give it a try it may well work for you.

MrsMcJnr Am soooo knackered after my weekend of rumping that your right the break in lovely . Boo to the weather your getting at the moment... is it still bad today? Where abouts are you in Spain?

alfiemama welcome...lovely to see you join us.

2DPO at the mo... and really bored. All the excitement has ended with the pre-ovulation bding and now on that beginning stage of the boring 2ww where nothing really happenings until about 7-10 DPO when you start looking for an implantation dip if you temp.

Oh well...may disappear for a few days just so that they appear to go quicker... .

alfiemama · 09/09/2008 10:17

Hellooo everyone

I was on the May thread with a few of but been awol for a little bit and so has my af.

On about cd38 now and still no af, feeling very sick and seen to be able to smell everything going

about 10 days ago I felt like af was coming, you know when you think its coming now, well it didnt had a few niggels but nothing else.
I have done some tests but all neg and all cheapy ones.

Does anyone else feel sick when they are due on at all, or even if they have been of the pill for over 2 months.

Im almost sure Im not sypmton spotting as me and dh talked about it and decided it was too soon (after we had done the deed) oops (not told him yet as it may et his hopes up)

Jools1 · 09/09/2008 09:00

Morning all

What a big list we have now

MintChocAddict - I used grapefruit juice this cycle from CD1 to Ov and I think it definitely helped increase EWCM

This week is dragging by - only 4DPO and another ten days before I can test but no matter what my head says, my imagination runs riot and starts symptom spotting already

It doesn't help that Fertility Friend estimates what your due date would be if that BFP arrived - would be May 29th

Huge congratulations to Febes May there be many more !

yellowflowers · 09/09/2008 08:58

Mrsmcjnr - yeah, had grapefruit juice every day for ten days and was the first month I didn't notice much ewcm - probs co-incidence. Very odd though. And not a peep from the opk sticks. On the plus side managed bd last night too.

MintChocAddict · 08/09/2008 23:23

You're full of useful tips MrsMcJnr! Off to Asda tomorrow to stock up on gallons and gallons of grapefruit juice!!
