Anyone Planning To TTC From October

Hi, I had an ectopic in May and am coming up to the end of my 3 month wait following methotrexate treatment. Need to wait for blood results in September but hope to start TTC from October. Feel really positive about the future and want to start looking forward. Anyone want to pass the time with me?

Hi All,

Made up a new playlist on my I-pod this morning and had a great session at the gym so feeling all fit and positive today!

Bring on next month's babydancing (just checked my cycle and I should be hitting my fertile time on 5th November! )

thegreatescape · 24/10/2008 14:45

Although Dr Harry is puts a little sex appeal into it!

VillageMum · 24/10/2008 14:13

theautomatic, don't worry, at 33 your fertility is still up there!

spats, good luck! I think getting pg is an aspect of life where we ladies do need to take some control if anything is going to happen... knowing your 'window' is empowering! Go for it! babydust!

thegreatescape, ha ha, 'Silent Witness' is my personal anti-aphrodisiac - all those dead bodies! If you'll be ttc again in November I'll keep you company because I will be too (without 'SW'!)

thegreatescape · 24/10/2008 12:03

Af arrived yesterday. Humpf. 8 days late so just as TTC, cycle goes freestyle. Have told DH this means we have to have more sex! How come this is never a problem when you first get together? You never seem too busy/tired/engrossed in 'Silent Witness'... where did all the energy come from??

I currently know about 10 pregnant women so fingers crossed for this month.

spats · 23/10/2008 19:04

vilage mum i am CD12 so BD starts this weekend. No pos OPK yet but not expecting that until probably sun, Fri night is the 1st BD and then every night (we are away for weekend!!) until i get a pos OPK. Thats the plan anyway. Just gets frustratin doesn't it that you have no control over it. Gosh i sound like a control freak

theautomatic · 23/10/2008 17:01

oh Spats, sorry to hear you are feeling low. It is unfair how some people seem to fall pregnant so easily while others struggle. I am so envious of all the pregnant women I see, and at the moment they seem to be bloody everywhere!

I am 33 and although I know I have a few years yet cant help thinking that I need to crack on and get pregnant soon. I just know that if I was 16 I'd fall pregnant straightaway, whereas now I've got my own home, reasonable job etc it will take forever! sods law.

Olivo, think you are right to stop taking the pill. Wish I'd stopped taking mine sooner. I naively assumed I'd fall pregnant straightaway after coming off it but its been about 3 months now and counting...

VillageMum · 23/10/2008 15:15

olivo, you are a spring chicken!
No, I've left the tooth as is. Apparently it's not urgent and can wait - and I don't want to mess with it until I've had a successful pgncy! Feel much better about that. Will be ttc at the end of November so still don't want heavy metals being released into my system before then!
Good luck as you go pill free!

spats, your turn will come... where are you now in your cycle?

spats · 23/10/2008 15:01

my friend has just annouced she is pg, i feel v low when is it my turn? it is such a long time to wait each month after trying, before af is due, its so not fair.

olivo · 23/10/2008 14:05

welcome peacelily, automatic and memoo.
I am on the last day of my pills today, was going to take another week or two but am now on antibiotics so they wouldnt necessarily work anyway.
so....we are just going to go for it as of next week. i am 34,nearly 35.
villagemum, well done on making that decision, it's so important to have your head around everything that has happened. are yo goign to get that tooth done then? I have cancelled my appt (i'd actually made it on a day when i am in london anyway, so it was a good excuse!)

VillageMum · 23/10/2008 12:15

Welcome peacelily, theautomatic, memoo... bluesatinsash, well, I turned 39 in August! Discovered I was pg at the beginning of that month (and it was a total accident - one quickie in July three days before I ov'd. Just shows you. You have time, believe me!) I also swing between desperation to ttc again straight away now that AF has come and knowing that I should wait this month out because it will do ME good and help me handle a future pg with less stress. So far sanity is winning... You will get that BFP, don't you worry! x

peacelily, if I keep my nerve I'll be ttc again come late November, so let's keep each other company!

bluesatinsash · 23/10/2008 11:55

Hi All,

Peacelily - sorry to hear about your MC. There are a few of us here following a MC and know how fretful TTC is...

VillageMum - great that AF came on time (choo choo) and that your cycle is back to normal. Totally understand wanting to wait until your emotionally ready. I swing from being desperate to get pg to terrified that I can't handle the stress and knicker checkng that will ensue... Think my AF is starting today - two days late - glad its also back on track (aaargh - you have me on the railway metaphors now!). Still felt dissapointed though but too much to expect falling pg a mere 6 weeks after mc.

I just hope it happens soon - I'm 38 next May...

peacelily · 22/10/2008 22:06

Hi, I'm joining late too, had mc 5 weeks ago, according to ov sticks have ovulated since and despite advice to the contrary did try, but am expecting AF soonish anyway.

Already have dd(2) and we are desperate for a 2nd, mc has hit me hard, usually quite a coper but struggle with feelings o loss sometimes.

Anyway will be back onto "it" big time come mid October!!

memoo · 22/10/2008 21:56

Hi, I'm a bit late but can i join your thread? DP and I have just started TTC.

I had an ectopic3 years ago that ruptured leaving me with only one tube. It has taken me all this time to build up the courage to try again.

Already have DD age 9 and DS age 7 but I'm a bit worried that after ectopic I might stuggle.

theautomatic · 22/10/2008 17:08

Hello everyone, great thread, can I join? Sitting here imagining pregnancy symptons even though I know this is impossible as only bedded recently (16th and 18th October) but getting my hopes up. I know I'll feel devastated when AF turns up, though god knows when this will be as my cycle seems to have a life of its own!

Heres hoping for lots of BFP for us all soon!

VillageMum · 22/10/2008 14:56

bluesatinsash - yes, AF came on the 17th, right on schedule, and has lasted four/five days as it used to... so I guess I am getting back to normal after my mc. Well, physically, at least - after much soul searching DH and I have decided to sit this cycle out before we ttc. I was all for getting right down to it immediately, but once the AF came it suddenly seemed all too real, I got panicky and depressed, and I realised that I actually need another month to get my head back together. So this is going to be my 'getting strong for pg' month... before we start ttc at the end of November! I went swimming again today for the first time since my mc. So many of my normal everyday habits have got suspended since the mc; would really like to get my life back on track before boarding the pg train again... (sorry about the railway metaphors! ) How are you doing?

Icantbelieve and olivo - I also fell pg six weeks after coming off the pill; apparently your fertility is slightly raised for the first few months afterwards, as olivo's GP says. Good luck both of you!!

Icantbelieveitsnotbitter · 22/10/2008 14:30

Whoops, did think it might take a bit longer to get pg when coming straight off pill !! Certainly didn't know anything about waiting 3 cycles

Decided to end pill as the side effects were grotty and we discussed alternative methods of protection but in the end just decided to 'see what happens' thinking it might take at least 6 months to get a BFP

olivo · 22/10/2008 12:56

icantbelieve, I fell pg with dd within 6 weeks of coming off the Pill. i am finishing my current pkt tomorrow and hope to ttc dc2 as soon as possible. my GP told me that there is an increased chanvce of pg straight after coming off the pill, and no real need to wait for 3 cycles as some recommend. Can apparently be more difficult to date the pg but not a real problem.
good luck - i hope we are all sharing good news soon.

Icantbelieveitsnotbitter · 22/10/2008 11:49

Hi - my DP and I are TTC - my 2nd and his 3rd !! Took my last pill (femodene) on 3 October and just wondering what experience people have had getting pregnant after being on the pill.

I wasn't actively trying to have DS1 - in fact we were actively trying not to have DC at that time but fell into the 1% of condoms that fail so I have no experience of TTC at all !

x

littlewifey · 21/10/2008 18:34

Hi thegreatescape, not sure if I can be much help, but from what i've read on here I think that ectopic usually shows as a positive result. I'm sure someone will be along soon tho who can be a bit more help. Hope you get some answers soon.
Hi everyone else!! Any positives yet? x

thegreatescape · 21/10/2008 12:25

Hi, wonder if anybody can advise me? Started ttc and period approx 5 days late and never usually late. Have been doing pg tests everyday all coming up negative. Have had a couple of headaches recently also. If you have an ectopic, i'm thinking the test would still show pos? Not sure if i read on mn of someone with an ectopic who had neg pg test, i'm probably just late but would appreciate any advice.

Sorry to be such an amateur!

bluesatinsash · 21/10/2008 12:19

VillageMum - did AF come as planned?

My AF is a no show today but as last one lasted 18 days (first one post m/c) think I'll hang fire doing a test for another week at least!

VillageMum · 15/10/2008 10:37

Hi woollyjo - all the very best of luck for conceiving and being pg again!

olivo, thanks so much for posting on the other thread.

olivo · 14/10/2008 20:44

HI Woollyjo. sorry to hear about your mcs, let's hope this thread is lucky for us all.

woollyjo · 14/10/2008 20:15

Hi Folks,

Think I may fit here,

Just started trying again after MCs in April and July (we have a dd 21 months old).

Not sure what I'm more worried about a positive or a negative result (caught v quickly on my last 3 pregnancies) but the next few weeks are going feel like an age.

olivo · 14/10/2008 19:55

Hi VM - have just posted on that thread. i think I'm naive, I assumed a few days would have it out of the system but now i'm not so sure. will have to do some research as I will quite happily avoid getting mine done for now. I also wondered if there was something you could take to minimise the risk, or to help it along ( vitamin, or something similar?) maybe we should post on health?
