Anyone Planning To TTC From October

Hi, I had an ectopic in May and am coming up to the end of my 3 month wait following methotrexate treatment. Need to wait for blood results in September but hope to start TTC from October. Feel really positive about the future and want to start looking forward. Anyone want to pass the time with me?

Thanks village mum, after I posted that, worked out what it was, think my brain was a bit fuzzled! am using a fertility monitor but bit difficult as havn't had AF yet, but thought I would get into habit, would you use OPK's as well or am I going over the top?

VillageMum · 12/11/2008 11:10

SuziBhoy, EWCM - Mostly before but there can be a bit after ov as the corpus luteum still secretes oestrogen as well as progesterone.

Dawn, OPK = ovulation predictor kit (those hellish little wee sticks!)

spats, glad to hear your lp worries are sorted. Do stick around here; none of us have had BFPs yet and I'm only about to start ttc so will be here for aaaaaages!

SuziBhoy · 11/11/2008 22:43

oh yes all still ttc, so frustrating!

question - ewcm.... befor during or after ovulation?

bluesatinsash · 11/11/2008 21:47

No I don't think anyone on this thread has had a BFP as yet, i think spats was referring to another thread ?

I understand what you mean Spats, the last thing you want to hear is the early pregnancy moans when your TTC.

When(if) I ever get my BFP I will bow out of here and go to one of the mad-as-a-box-of-frogs pregnancy after mc threads.

I think everyone on here has been TTC since October but none of us have been successful to date (or have delayed for other reasons - see VillageMum)

So feel free to stay as we're all still TTbloodyC!

dawn37 · 11/11/2008 21:37

Has someone had a bfp? I mustve missed some of the posts, god I'm very envious now. I'm being really thick now but whats an opk? just wondering if its something I should be doing? (hmm)

spats · 11/11/2008 17:10

village mum -my lp is at least 10 days which i think is OK. I read anything under 10 is bad. I had an OPK on the thurs but didn't do wed so could be 11 days and as you are not sure hweher you ovulate 24-48 hrs fter pos opk i am saying 10 days is the lowest if that makes sense. Do i stay on this thread now as not really ttc from oct - have others moved over to other link or is everyone now ttc in Nov? What is annoying is when you are on a link someone has a bfp but stayson the link worrying about symptoms - harsh as it sounds and i'm not in a great mood -i wish they would go to the ante natal group, i don't want to hear about ante natal symptoms when i am having AF symptoms- is that really horrid of me?? if it is i apologise but its a horrid day. x

VillageMum · 11/11/2008 12:18

Hi spats, really sorry to hear that your AF arrived. Are you feeling OK now about your luteal phase? I remember you were a bit worried. x

dawn37 · 11/11/2008 11:20

Hi spats sorry to hear about AF coming, its all such a horrible waiting game isn't it. Heres hoping it'll work out for you next time x

spats · 11/11/2008 09:24

AF here i am sooooooooo upset. x

dawn37 · 11/11/2008 07:54

Hi they are around £10 inc p&p for 40, thats why I went for bulk!!! They are supposed to detect hcg levels from 10 rather than the usual 25. Have had a weird night, felt very drained yesterday, boobs still tingly & getting heavier & very early this morning was kept awake by strange sensations down below...If it is AF in a way I would be happier, just so I knew things were working normally, but either way, wish it would hurry up & make itself known whatever my body is doing! feel ever so slightly nausiated too, but trying very hard not to read too much into things, hence waiting for these tests to arrive rather than going to supermarket to buy another 1 hmm

bluesatinsash · 10/11/2008 21:52

Sorry to hear AF has arrived spats. Its just so disappointing when you have your first AF wipe - sigh.

Dawn - step away from the pg tests!! The cruel thing is that AF signs are very similar to early pg symptoms.

How much are 40 off ebay out of interest?

SuziBhoy · 10/11/2008 18:52

sorry to hear spats but heres to next month and all the fun ttc

spats · 10/11/2008 18:36

hey everyone. THink i may be out htis month as had brown streak when went to toilet so think AF may be here tommorrow. AAARRRGGGHHHH is all i can say! hope everyone else is going strong. x

dawn37 · 10/11/2008 11:31

Right, been on ebay & have brought not 1, not even 10 but 40 early pregnancy tests! I can test & test & test...Oh god, what a nutter! My boobs are still sore & feeling shattered now, could it be? or could it be that I'm just stressing & imagining now...Oooh hurry up tests!!! Yes Suzibhoy, I did 4 more tests before just to make sure the pregnancy hadn't gone away, I wonder if the men actually know the amount of stress we honestly put ourselves through?!

SuziBhoy · 10/11/2008 10:59

ha i remember when i fell pg with the ectopic.. i had bought about 5 tests, used the first one and up came the bfp, but i still went on to use the other 4 just to make sure, secretly i think im the same as you dawn, must have a fetish or something

dawn37 · 10/11/2008 10:52

Know what you mean Suzibhoy, I run a parent & toddler group & school coffee morning & even now I can see the new mums wondering if they should be showing me the new babies or wondering whether I should be asked if I want a hold of them...I think we are treated like aliens sometimes! Thanks for your kind words bluesatinsash, people say I'm not too old at 37, but I see all these really young (&too young) mums around & wonder whether they will be judging me if I'm lucky to have a turn again, think I'm probably being paranoid! I don't know about you guys but I think I have some weird fetish for pregnancy tests, I just wish I could do 1 everyday (I live in hope that it will just be a positive!) If only they were a lot cheaper, I loved the gold plated comment, how right you are, how can they justify those prices...think I'd better get on ebay & bulk buy those cheapy 1's

SuziBhoy · 10/11/2008 10:18

well a friend has just given birth to her baby girl........... not been up to see her yet. my dp has though, and says they are worried bout me seeing the baby as i might get too upset! not sure how to take that.... as i am completely happy for them and know my turn will come.

should this be on the aibu thread lol

bubblebell1 · 10/11/2008 08:51

oh how sad.

im sorry for all of you who have experienced a mc or ectopic.

i have no experience of an ectopic so i cant offer you any advice dawn. sorry. but i will say that you shouldnt feel selfish. you are entittled to have as many children as you want.
i am noticing baby things too. especially pink things. i would really love a baby girl after my 2 ds but i think thats selfish. especially as gender doesnt matter as long as the baby is healthy.

bluesatinsash · 09/11/2008 21:33

That's a great ides using cheapy ones until your get a line then confirming with should-be-bloody-gold-plated-the-price-you-pay-for-them clearblue digital.

I must admit I've taken digital photos of my (two to date) smiley faces so I can keep track of when I ov but also to cheer me up in times of doubt in that clock ticking way.

Dawn - your not sad at all! Baby things pass you buy until you want one and then bang they're everywhere almost taunting you. I'm 37 too and everyone keeps telling me there's still time so fret not!

SuziBhoy · 09/11/2008 20:54

well dawn, i think test again in a weeks time if af hasnt arrived yet. if it still says bfn, then ask your gp for some advice. as you will know everyone reacts different to metho, and maybe your body is just taking its time to repair itself. try not to worry too much as this also holds your af back. easier said than done though.

let me know how your getting on though.

VillageMum · 09/11/2008 20:35

bubblebell, I have one ds aged 7. Dh and I weren't planning on having any more but I went off the pill this summer (we figured, wrongly as it turned out, that at 38 I was no longer a goddess of fertility). We took one tiny risk the following month, and hey presto I was pg - which then sadly ended in a mc. We've sat out my first post-mc cycle and we're about to ttc again in a week or so. I use OPKs and temping.

SuziBhoy, glad someone else is as nutty as I am!

Dawn, I'm sorry, I don't know the answers to your questions about metho but maybe someone else will? Would your GP be able to say? Good luck with ttc!

dawn37 · 09/11/2008 19:32

Hi suzibhoy, after the metho my levels came down really quickly as at the highest my hcg levels were only around 900, this was my 3rd pregnancy but 1st with my 2nd husband. I have 2 daughters, aged 12 & 10, my 1st took 5 years to conceive with the aid of clomid & my 2nd was natural. I went back on the pill after my 2nd & came off it when I remarried in Oct '05, but my periods were very irregular, I wanted to have a last chance as I'm 37, after 3 months back on clomid I fell pregnant & we were ecstatic. I feel a bit selfish as I am lucky to have 2 daughters already but we, like all of you are so very very desperate to have another. I decided not to go on the pill for 3 month wait in case it took ages to get back out of my system. I did read somewhere online that the metho doesnt take very long to get out of your system but if you conceive in the 1st 6 weeks after, your chances of ectopic are higher than if you wait the 12. Isn't it horrid that the world seems full of pregnant mums at the moment & all the shops seem to bring out all these cute things for babies! In my head I'm thinking oh, I'd love that & awww the baby would look so cute in this & that etc etc In my head I've designed the nursery, decided on the pram etc etc God how desperate & sad do I sound, if anyone else apart from you guys on here could see what I'm thinking when I'm shopping, they'd think I've really lost it!

SuziBhoy · 09/11/2008 19:13

dawn i went on the pill after my metho, so never had a natural cycle, but came off the pill recently as my 3 months waiting were up. i think falling pregnant is very possible 10 weeks after metho. they only tell you not to so that the metho is out your system.

do you know how long it took for your hcg to return to normal?? if it took a whil then this could be the reason for your af taking its time.

bubblebell - metho is mehotrexate, its used to treat ectoic pregnancy. i was ttc for 2 years ad when i did it was ectopic, so now 3 months after treament im ttc#1.
hope all goes well for you

bubblebell1 · 09/11/2008 18:11

hi olivio, ive been having what i called before mid cycle pains. after reading the threads on here im assuming they are ov pains.

where can i get opks?? is there a website that sells cheaper 1s?

xxx

olivo · 09/11/2008 18:03

Hi bubble, my first month ttc too and obsessed already! i also fell pg more or less straight away after the pil with dc1 so am hoping for the same this time but trying to be realistic! I've been using opks and temping already but no idea what is happening with my cycle after the pill so will see what happens this month.
good luck to you!
