Anyone Planning To TTC From October

VeryKeenForABean · 23/08/2008 20:49

Hi, I had an ectopic in May and am coming up to the end of my 3 month wait following methotrexate treatment. Need to wait for blood results in September but hope to start TTC from October. Feel really positive about the future and want to start looking forward. Anyone want to pass the time with me?

VillageMum · 24/11/2008 22:05

Thanks littlewifey and olivo! MY AF has also just finished so yes, next week it is... tantarantarantaaaaa - I actually do feel OK about it right now (deep breaths, deep breaths! ) Hope you feel better soon olivo!

olivo · 24/11/2008 20:07

evening! nothing to report here, my AF is finished so I'm hyping myself up for next week, if i'm healthy enough - currently got a grotty cold and a dodgy chest so i'm not optimistic!
littlewifey, sorry ot hear you've been a bit shaky, let's hope this time is the positive experience you deserve. And you too, VM.

littlewifey · 24/11/2008 19:01

Well done Dawn, hopefully your GP will be able to give you some answers.
I'm not too bad today thanks VillageMum, feeling a bit more positive. Have done OPK tonight, but still no OV line How are things with you? How's the not overthinking going? x

VillageMum · 24/11/2008 13:00

Dawn, good for you! You'll get some answers soon even if AF doesn't come before; fingers crossed!

Doing OK; am trying to stay positive about ttc and not overthink it! x

littlewifey and olivo, how are things?

dawn37 · 24/11/2008 11:31

Hi everyone...I've finally plucked up courage & made appt with GP, sounds silly I havn't done it sooner, but I couldn't face more tests, anyway, it is now a week Monday, hopefully my AF will do me a favour & make an appearance before then! hows everyone else doing?

VillageMum · 23/11/2008 18:43

littlewifey, no problem at all - as I say, I've been there (am there) too and even though I've been counting down the days to this 'ttc cycle', now the time has come, I'm afraid again! I think we just have to accept that the fear is normal because of what we've experienced. On the plus side, your body has really and truly recovered by now, you're in a better place financially and workwise, and there is no reason at all why you shouldn't have a problem free pg! I'm sure you will! x

littlewifey · 23/11/2008 14:16

Thanks VillageMum I know you are right about the stats etc, think I just need a good shake up to make me stop being daft!! You are very right about the reality bit. We left it over 12 months because we wanted to make sure we were ready financially and workwise etc (aswell as me getting my head a bit straighter). For the last 12 months I've been wishing every second away and have become preganncy obsessed!! However, now the time is here I'm petrified Thankyou again for your reassuring words, it is so nice to talk to people who understand! x

VillageMum · 23/11/2008 12:11

littlewifey, it's been well over two months since my mmc and I'm still petrified too at times (had a real wobble again this morning!) - and know I would still be scared even in a year's time, two years, three years... forget the 1 in 3 'statistic' that's frightening you - you're applying it in a totally random way! It means nothing. The real stat to hold on to is that having had one mmc (or mc) does not raise your personal chances of having another next time in ANY way. Your chances of having a healthy pg now are as good as they were before. I think the reason we're having wobbles about ttc again is that we know the moment is now arriving when it becomes a reality. Of course it's scary. All life involves risk - that's the deal. We are going to be OK, I promise. x

littlewifey · 23/11/2008 09:33

Morning all, peacelily, I too have heard from people in RL that grapefruit is good for boosting CM. I am going to the shop to buy some today!!
I am in need of some words of wisdom this morning ladies and I'm sure you lot can talk some sense into me... DH just doesn't understand! This week should be when I ovulate, so DH is really excited however I'm absolutely petrified. It's been a year since my MMC and I thought I'd put all this behind me, but this weekend I've been really wobbly. Since my MMC 5 people at work have gone on to have healthy pg's, so now I'm convinced that to fulfill the 1 in 3 stat it will be me again that mc's. I know it's irrational, but I can't shake this worrying
Anyway, sorry for going on and damppening the mood. I hope everyone else is feeling good today and that some more of you announce BFP's soon. Blusatsinsash, I am still smiling for you and wish you a wonderful and uneventful pregnancy

VillageMum · 22/11/2008 17:36

Hi dawn, sounds as if your AF is about to make an appearance soon though, doesn't it? Fingers crossed for you.

I'm on cd3 now and very impatient to start this whole ttc business... still seems like an awfully long time to wait till ov!

dawn37 · 22/11/2008 14:05

Hi bluesatinsash, wow!!! congratulations, I'm so pleased for you. I'm still waiting for AF, just trying to stay patient. Each day I think it's coming as symptoms are quite strong...& yet nothing. Still, nothing I can do but wait. Hows every1 else doing?

VillageMum · 22/11/2008 13:44

olivo, come and join me! I'm sure this is going to be our month!

bluesatinsash, I'm just so pleased for you, and that it's happened so soon after your mc too. No, you're not broken!! Don't be silly! This is going to be a happy, successful and uneventful pregnancy and by the end of it you will have a gorgeous healthy bluesatinsash jnr to keep you up at night... Hope you are feeling OK and enjoying the early days. Many many congrats again!!

peacelily, oops, I don't actually know that much - I've heard that grapefruit juice boosts the production of fertile cervical mucus, but other than that I don't take any potions - just do OPK to pinpoint ovulation and also do BBT (on Fertility Friend) to confirm ov. Sounds as if you know your cycle though, so good luck this month!

bluesatinsash · 22/11/2008 08:41

sorry Peacelily - meant to answer you fertility question by saying I'm sure VillageMum can fill you in - she is an expert on all things ttc!

I know that grapefruit juice helps thicken your CM (cervical mucus) which is vital for helping sperm reach the egg.

I haven't done any temping, rely on the OPK which do help narrow your window for bd.

I have a feeling we have met on another thread - perhaps giving advice re: working for the NHS?

bluesatinsash · 22/11/2008 08:37

Morning all,

Oh VillageMum - I had a huge lump in my throat reading your post yesterday - your good wishes and support have meant so much to me! Hope I can try and do the same for you...

Peacelily and littlewifey - your kind words were so lovely to read this morning!

olivo - thanks for your best wishes on our 'trying for an Aug baby' thread.

DH didn't get home until 9pm last night so had quite a lonely evening but it gave me time to think things through and its starting to sink in - I'm having a baby, we have another chance, I'm not broken!

Enough about me (me, ME!). How are you all doing today?

peacelily · 21/11/2008 22:00

Hello everyone, congratulations bluesatinsash in BFP!!! Hope all goes well.

Only just joined but we are TTC after mc on 15th Sept, have had first AF after that and ovulated on day 17, have performed as neccessary, hope it's all worth it though!

Already have dd(2) and got pg straight away with baby that mc feel a mixture of hope and apprehension this time round!

Can anyone fill me in about grapefruit and other fertility boostng methods?

littlewifey · 21/11/2008 21:41

Congratulations bluesatinsash!! That is wonderful news and on DH's birthday too... what a great pressie

olivo · 21/11/2008 20:02

Hi VM. i'm ok . AF literally just arrived (exactly 4 weeks after stopping the Pill!) so back to day 1 but feel ok about it. Am stocked up on grapefruit juice and have DH's agreement to really go for it this month!!
So, i'm only a day behind you!!
good luck to all and here's to good news soon.

VillageMum · 21/11/2008 16:44

bluesatinsash, OMG I am over the moon for you! That is just so, so, so, SO WONDERFUL!!!! What a fantastic way to announce it to dh too! Just breathe deeply and take a day or two to allow it to sink in... I won't breathe a word on emmsysangels, don't worry - you just announce it in your own good time. I'm so thrilled for you I can't tell you! xxx

bluesatinsash · 21/11/2008 16:20

Deep breath....

....I did a test this morning as its DH's birthday and there it was, 11 weeks and 6 days since my mc, a big fat positive. I slipped stick into DH's gift bag so he stumbled across it when he was taking out his new Kings of Leon CD.

I'm in shock.

Our day went awry as DH was called into work just as we were about to go to Glasgow. I still went and wandered round the shops trying to get my head round this and not even daring for one second to get excited about it all.

VillageMum - I wil post on Emmsy's but want to find a quiet time to avoid any insensitive cross posting...

Off to get DS from Nursery x

VillageMum · 21/11/2008 11:33

Thanks for the good wishes olivo, how are things with you?

bluesatinsash, yep, I have the grapefruit juice all right! Ridiculous, isn't it?
Hope your AF stays away!

littlewifey, cling onto those stats... the odds are still in our favour!

Suzi, test again in a couple of days maybe? Fingers crossed for you.

olivo · 20/11/2008 19:29

szui - happy birthday and good luck.

Villagemum, just wanted to say good luck and i'll be keeping an eye on how it all goes for you.

littlewifey · 20/11/2008 19:13

bluesatinsash and villagemum you are both so right! I too try to repeat the stats to myself but also know that I'll be knickerchecking every minute! Sigh!! LOL at the AF comment bluesatinsash - your location is definitely a safe secret with me Hello everyone else, hope you are all looking forward to funpacked weekends!

SuziBhoy · 20/11/2008 17:00

well girls it was a BFN for me, but on the bright side AF isnt here yet so hopefully its too early to tell.

bluesatinsash · 20/11/2008 15:17

Hi all and welcome (back) to the world of ttc VillageMum! I'm sure you're stocked up on grapefruit juice and thermometers .

littlewifey I am also trying to be positive about falling pg following mc. I try and repeat the stats that you are no more likely to mc after having one or even two than someone who has never had one. I know for sure i'll be knicker checking on an hourly basis to begin with nonetheless...

AF is due on Sat... DH and me are both off tomorrow and we're going to Glasgow for a long lunch and a dander about. If you see AF don't tell her where I am OK?

Happy Birthday Suzi - any news??

Dawn - how are you today?
