Hi yellowflowers

It is really hard but you have to remember it will be your turn - it could still be this month. Just think your temp result was good and Monday not a long way off. Dont cry it will be fine

Lots of baby dust to you xx

yellowflowers · 22/10/2008 19:59

Am I allowed to be on the verge of tears that another friend has just announced his wife is pregnant? That's three pregnant friends at the moment and two with new babies. Am pleased for them obviously, but when will it be our turn? This recent one didn't even want children they said. I want to cry.

VillageMum · 22/10/2008 18:20

Hi yellowflowers - sounds as if Monday would be a reasonable time to test - not too much longer to wait... hope this is your month!

yellowflowers · 22/10/2008 15:59

Hi villagemum - I don't think I can reasonably do a test until Mon as today may be either 25 or 27 of a 30 (but sometimes 35) day cycle. I don't know because the bleed last period was funny so not sure when to start it from.

smileycat · 22/10/2008 15:58

I'm still using the free VIP bit but it runs out in another 5 days, is it worth paying out to keep it or is the free basic stuff enough do you think?

Jools1 · 22/10/2008 14:52

Just a warning for any of you using Fertility Friend - they have this bit for VIP members that analyses the signs you have input and gives you points out of 100 for early pregnancy signs.

I didn't temp, which probably meant my points score would be lower anyway, but even putting in all the symptoms I spotted, I only had 17 points out of 100 for a sucessful month.

I guess what I'm saying is don't be disheartened by a low score there

VillageMum · 22/10/2008 14:37

pinkie08 as far as I know you can still do BBT while on Clomid, but maybe someone else knows for sure?

VillageMum · 22/10/2008 14:31

yellowflowers - I think it depends on what's normal for you. My pattern is temps of around 36.4 to 36.6 before OV and then rising suddenly up to 36.9 or 37.0 after. Every woman has a different 'coverline' (point that has to be crossed to indicate successive temp rise) - the main thing is the pattern.
When will you be able to do a hpt test, by the way? Is it soon? Fingers crossed!

Heeby, Cindy and all the other lovely ladies who gave me comfort when I was going nuts on Monday - I'm now focusing on making this a 'getting stronger for pg' cycle; have been swimming again for the first time since my mc and hope to get fit again before ttc at the end of November!

pinkie08 · 22/10/2008 14:26

HI all,

Am thinking of temping next month if not successful this month. Just at cd13 and waiting for +ive on OPK but have held back on on temping because have found the clomid has made mybody temp go all over the place.

Does anyone know if the clomid would make temping erratic or if i can still do it

yellowflowers · 22/10/2008 14:10

that's really good info - thanks! I guess I will do it every morning from now on and see what happens - hopefully no dip.

smileycat · 22/10/2008 13:43

2 different sites have 2 different temps for the before OV & after OV one says it should be between 36.1 & 36.3 at the follicular phase and then after you OV (Luteal phase) be around 36.4 & 36.6 and the other site says 36.5 & 37 during folicular and then rise 0.2 to 0.4 after OVing, but I think the big thing is the continued rise after you have OV'd is the important bit & then the big dip again if AF is on her way, if you get this dip when AF is usually due they say you will either get it later that day or early the next

smileycat · 22/10/2008 13:33

yellow I've been charting mine this month & it started at 35.5, went up a little the 2nd day, then dropped to 36.2 over a couple of days, went back up to 36.7 & now over the last couple of days its dropped again to 36.2, but from what I've read it drops a little just b4 u OV, then after OV it starts to rise, but this has to be without a drop for more than 3 days, then stays higher till AF when it will drop low again

yellowflowers · 22/10/2008 12:37

Hi wasabi it was 36.63 so even better I think. But who knows really. x

smileycat · 22/10/2008 12:18

heeby yes we tried again last night but like you we weren't really up for it, we both fell asleep on the sofa, woke up & said well I guess we'd better get off to bed knowing what was coming next, its such hard work when your not really in the mood, anyway my temp still dropped again this morn, only 0.1 but still a drop so I guess I am either still OVing or just about to which means I'll have to do something special tonight to entice DH into bed as he thought it was a night off but don't want to miss my chance of getting the little swimers in the right place at the right time, I'll be glad when I see the 3 days of higher temps that way I know we can relax & get back to 'fun' bd instead of planned
You asked about checking your cervix, you need to check it at the end of your AF (or during if your that brave) to see how it feels, then once a day at about the same time as it changes position throughout the day & note if its low, med or high & if its hard or soft & open or closed. Just after AF & OV its low, hard & closed, when you get close to OV it rises up, goes soft & opens up to let the little swimmers in, so you can tell if your getting close to OVing & when its passed, along with your CM its quite a good sign. Mine is still high, soft & open today so DH is not getting off so lightly tonight I'll make him is fav dinner see if I can get him in the mood without telling him I'm still OVing, what are we like

wasabipeanut · 22/10/2008 12:13

oooh yellow fingers crossed for you. Not long to wait now!
36.3 sounds def like a post ov temperature but taken in isolation it's difficult to attribute anything more meaningful.I am not sure what happens to temp if you are successful. I temped last month but haven't bothered this month - just using OPK's.

Welcome *Pink1e" - you have picked a great thread to join

sarahpea · 22/10/2008 11:47

hi, we have been TTC for 6 months with no luck, last month i tried the ovulation sticks from Wilkinson but nothing, i just had a look at the babymad.com site mentioned by yelloflowers and was wondering if anyone had used the ovulation microscope and if its any good? sorry to interupt - i follow you all daily!!

pinkie08 · 22/10/2008 11:11

HI C1ndy the whole addictive thing with the tests is catching.

I remember doing the same thing when i first got a +ive hpt with my dd (8yrs ago). After 3 miscarriages the consultant sent me for a scan. But all that was seen was thick lining and a sac. They made me wait another 10 days in case dates were wrong or needed evacuation.

I think i went through 2 a day until that scan. I think they make us feel like we are doing soemthing.

Now while ttc#2 i cant stop doing opks or the hpts when AF due. I do those even if i have been sympton spotting and know that AF is on the way. Then at least disappointment comes before AF and i am a bit more prepared and dont get too upset.

WOW sorry for ranting on must have needed that really sorry

Also quite good prices and delivery on accessdiagnostics. If you go on use coupon code thank you for a discount

yellowflowers · 22/10/2008 11:01

I get my cheapies from babymad.com - they always arrive in plain brown bag (though my dh recognises them now) two days after ordering

C1NDY · 22/10/2008 11:00

Yellowflowers Heeby It is difficult not to stop making the process regimented. I have been following the sperm meets the egg plan but did not get to complete the last two days (after the OPK goes pink). Will be surprised if I am pg but am happy to wait next month to try again! I am really getting the hang of this... testing and stuff .. it is getting kind of addictive hehehe!

I would like to get some cheap OPK sticks, which site is the best to try.

I have one pg test in my bag which I will be using after I am 3 days late... which I am hoping I will get to use. I tested early in Sept before AF and MC, so thought I would wait this time around.

yellowflowers · 22/10/2008 10:48

Well heeby, the sad truth is I bought 20 internet cheapers for a tenner so tested this am already but am discounting it because I think though I am day 27 today period was very odd and it might be day 25 of 30 day cycle. Am just going to use the internet cheapies whenever I feel like it and then if period not here by next Wed that's whan I will start to get excited. Easier said than done of course - have weird nipples - they feel like they are constantly erect but when I look at them they aren't. But after bening so up and down last month I am trying to persuade myself not pregnant this month.
x

pinkie08 · 22/10/2008 10:29

yellowflowers · 22/10/2008 09:24

eeeks - am next to test so pressure is on. Don't get excited though - am pretty sure not pregnant.

I've not been temping but bought a proper bbt thermometer yesterday and did it for first time when I woke up - 36.63. Does this mean anything at all in isolation?
