Sorry about your ds btw nelix, what does your dp do in the medical profession?

For anyone who is interested in the whole conception lark, I concieved on the day of ovulation pain with 2 of 3 of my pregnancies.

With pregnancy 1, had ov pain about 2pm, dtd about 2am.

Pg2, not sure as dtd a couple of times within the month.

Pg 3, which ended in mc, dtd 12 hours after ov pain. Seems to be a pattern for me.

So just to say, it doesn't all seem to be about the pre-ovulation lark. I properly popped with both pg, and will go with it again. If I ever get Af that is lol.

Luck to all of you ladies, I started bleeding today so I guess I am truly CD1 now??

I am sticking here because you are all lovely.

Last cycle was just a nightmare, I truly do say from now on I am not testing until I am at least a week late lol.

Mylittlebubble · 22/08/2008 21:37

I'll have soome of that Baby dust for the next few days

Might be TMI but we did it every other day to concieve DD1 and it didn't take long! So hopefully fingers crossed. DH is well up for it, well he is a man and after weeks of non with a young baby about who can blame him!

funtimewincies · 22/08/2008 19:42

Hello and welcome bubble and jools, it's best to just have vast quantities of nookie to be on the safe side, especially while dps are still keen and not yet jaded by constant demands and wails of 'but I'm ovuuuuuuuuuuulating' to put them off their stride .

Nelix - poor you, hope that you've had a large drink and managed to stop shaking!

Well, after yesterday's rant, I've put the thermometer away and decided to just go with the flow. I've sort of got an idea when I should be fertile (around our wedding anniversary ) and I know when AF should be due (13th September), but apart from that we're just going to calm down a bit this month. I've decided that it's not unreasonable to want to have nookie when I just feel like it .

(rolls around in the baby-dust for good measure)

SparkyMalarky · 22/08/2008 17:10

Nelix - you've started a proper group of us let's throw that baby dust about ..

I'm CD15 (eek!)

nelix2000 · 22/08/2008 16:26

Hello

Can I join you lovely ladies too please

I am on cycle 3, CD2 today, after really starting to believe I'd done it last month

I understand far far more about what I'm doing now, thanks to all the advice on here, so armed with grapefruit juice and a newly acquired membership of Fertility Friend, I have a good feeling about the next few weeks

I haven't taken any tests apart yet, but am already a seasoned symptom spotter !!

nelix2000 · 22/08/2008 15:51

welcome mylittlebubble....there are a few of us now woo!....right....who is on what day...???we should make a list.....I am on CD5.....

OP posts:
Mylittlebubble · 22/08/2008 13:02

yes does make sense. not using any kits, yet!!

SparkyMalarky · 22/08/2008 12:21

'ello mylittlebubble - I'm lurking when I should be working (oh, that rhymes ) so thought I'd pop in and say hello!

yes - CD1 is the day AF turns up; most fertile time depends on how long you're cycle is....so, mine are (at the moment, and due to the magic of reflexology) exactly 28 days, so I ovulate around about CD14/15 (exactly half way through the cycle) - so most fertile time for me is days 12-16.

But - if you have a shorter or longer cycle, the exact days would vary (does that make sense?) The assumed 'norm' is that you OV 14 days before your period starts...but this can vary from month to month....are you watching out for signs of OV/using any predictor tests?

Oooh, that was a bit rambling...does it make sense?

Mylittlebubble · 22/08/2008 11:37

Can I join your gang? I am on CD12 I think! Do I have right that CD1 is the start of your AF?

When is your most fertile time, according to the book!!

SparkyMalarky · 22/08/2008 11:20

Oh Nelix - poor thing! And poor you and DP - horrible for you both. Spoiling is exactly what's required And remember, you're probably more traumatised than he is!

nelix2000 · 22/08/2008 10:52

It was horrid sparky it was the whole flight of stairs tho....he has fallen down a couple a few times, and he smacked into the stairgate at the bottom he is covered in carpet burns and bruises this morning its awful! so he is gettin spoilt all day!

LOL good luck! we need BFP!!!!

SparkyMalarky · 22/08/2008 09:33

Morning all Actually had a positive result on an OP test! (boots own-brand if you're interested) last night, just before bedtime. I think DH wanted to actually get some sleep, instead of which he had a crazed wife demanding some action!

So - if I can persuade him again tonight we'll have timed it right so.....am just going to grab a pinch of baby dust and put it in my pocket! (thanks Heeby!!) Nelix how are you today? Been there and it's terrifying! Although I think in my case DS was more shocked by mummy sobbing than falling down a couple of steps!

Have a lovely day everyone....

nelix2000 · 22/08/2008 08:22

good morning all!.....god yesterday WAS awful....my DS of 18 months was upstairs with me...i thought I had closed the stairgate...my DP calls up to say DSs tea is ready so he goes running.....right down the bloody stairs!!! I saw him go it was horrid!luckily DP is in the medical profession so my panic was soon laid to rest as she checked DS over, no broken anything a few bumps and grazes and very shaken up poor wee thing! On the plus side he spent his first ever night in bed with me since he was 4 weeks old (me being over anxious and watching for signs of concussion all night). He loves his own bed and has never been able to sleep in a bed with me! but seems right as rain this morning and a lesson learned all round!!

sparky I will let you know how the grapefruit juice goes....AF is just endng so I will be able to look at my CM soon. I figure i will be ovulating on the 5th or 6th of septemer if my last 6 cycles are anything to go by. So we chall see!

How is everyone?

OP posts:
Heebychick · 21/08/2008 20:10

ooh sparky how exciting, i shall be joining you next week (i think) i'm still trying to get used to a new cycle, the last 3 months i have had AF on CD26 so will assume i'll OV earlier than i thought before, so will be a busy girl over the weekend and next week!

Found babydust! loads under my bed, thought i'd put it somewhere! i'm happy to share it (((heeby throws dust to all you lovely ladies)))

I had a nightmare day too if that helps, busy at work and full of stressed people! my boss is away so everyone seems to be throwing everything on me, lovely! went for a swim tonight so feeling very proud (and i'm enjoying a nice glass of red) xx

SparkyMalarky · 21/08/2008 20:00

I've spent the day at work dealing with grown up tantrums! Not sure which is worse . Did you manage to get out at all? I didn't leave the office for 9 hours so didn't see if it was raining/sunny/snowing (nothing would surprise me!)

Well, about to start the 2ww (makingafamily - I'm only a couple of days ahead of you) and I don't think the grapefruit juice has made any difference (nelix let me know how you find it...maybe I am just v dehydrated generally).

Am also thinking of starting potty training DS. Is that a) madness or b) a useful distraction to keep me away from the HPTs (there'll be more than enough wee on the floor?!)

funtimewincies · 21/08/2008 19:04

Argghhh, on days like this (ones where it peesitdown rains all day) I wonder why I'm so desperate for more anklebiters little darlings!

I think that I've spent the day just shopping for food, cooking food, scraping uneaten food off plates and washing up after cooking food. Combined with dealing with thrown toys (ds'), dropped cup (mine) and tantrums (both), I'm really thinking of just not bothering this month and drinking vast quanities of wine instead .

Just want some sunshine!!!! (stamps feet in temper)

makingafamily · 21/08/2008 13:47

Hi Sparky

I'm CD9 so quite early.

SparkyMalarky · 21/08/2008 13:27

PS - Heeby got sidetracked by sharing my OPK traumas Did you spot any babydust?!!

Good idea on the AF 'timetable' ;)

SparkyMalarky · 21/08/2008 13:24

Makingafamily - am trying OPKs and checking CM (the things you say to strangers on the internet....) and I think CM is probably slightly more reliable - the OPKs seem to be a little more 'open to interpretation' (I didn't know you shouldn't do them first thing in the morning....as the LH or whatever it measures can take up to 4 hours to show up...and if you drink too much before testing you can dilute it....all very helpful! )

What CD are you on? Can that help?

How's everyone else doing?

makingafamily · 21/08/2008 11:48

hmmm I'm getting a bit sceptical Nelix. Although am tempted to get the boys round tonight as they are off to see Madonna in Cardif over the weekend

nelix2000 · 21/08/2008 11:34

sorry got booted! thats just myopinion after having many false negs on OPKs.....
