Sorry heebs been away for a while...am p*ssed off with you Men are rubbish...

I used Boots own - and test in the evening. I realised I'd wasted 3 days worth of tests by doing them first thing (the only time I get any peace), and actually got the positive on day 3 of testing at night.

Jools am trying not to think about where that spot could have been! Didn't that hurt? What symptoms are you spotting?

Any word from makingafamily?

Jools1 · 12/09/2008 14:32

SO sorry for all the BFN's and Heeby - I have the same problems as you with DP so would have spontaneously combusted by now if it wasn't for Mumsnet

For my CP month, I told him I wasn't drinking because I thought I was PG - he just told me he didn't think I was and to snap out of it as he was worried what a BFN would do to me I tried to explain about the CP after the event, but all he got out of it was "not pregnant"

The nearest I've got to him showing interest was a question earlier this month about whereabouts in the cycle I was - I just mumbled something indistinct as I didn't want to put him off - it was OV day after all !!! I've spoken to others about this and it seems to be a familiar problem with men - they simply won't or can't understand what women go through and it only becomes real for them when the baby arrives.

You are not alone and I would guess your DP is a typical male !

TMI alert - I think I've discovered that my suspected implantation bleed was actually a spot where no spots should be allowed .

Once I realised that, I got quite despondent, then have had odd pullings in my tum today and, coming out of a meeting after a lunch where I'd stuffed my face full of food, I started feeling really faint and dizzy.

Who knows ! Trying not to symptom spot and failing. 7DPO and testing in a week.

Heebychick · 12/09/2008 12:33

[angy] grrrrrr

Heebychick · 12/09/2008 12:32

Yes absolutely thank goodness for MN!!!

It really hurts when he just doesn't want to know, it's like he just doesn't care. I should be able to share the whole 'ooh i'm late shall we do a test' thing with him but no, he banns the topic from our conversation so that i have to keep everything to myself, including how crap i'm feeling etc. So tonight although i have upset about the BFN and am concerned about my cycle etc i won't be able to mention it to him (god forbid) as it's not something HE wants to know about.

Selfish pig.

Ah that's better.

BTW what OV sticks did you use? might try some, it's been a while and what with my weird cycle now it might be a good option obviously hiding them from DH!)

SparkyMalarky · 12/09/2008 12:19

Don't worry hon - I think it's just so different for them - especially when our DHs have seen us fall apart after a mc, or are worried about their gorgeous wives and girlfriends being ill. The whole 'don't care either way' attitude is probably just the male defence mechanism (not that that helps us tho!)

My DH was the same - we weren't to say we were trying, and were just 'seeing if it happened' - which we all know is cr*p because with busy lives the chances of actually having sex are slim, let alone at the right time!!

The really annoying thing is, they're right....it will just happen when it happens (I know that's probably easier for me to say, and I jumped my DH like a crazed woman - "the stick says we have to do it....NOW!") but because I, at least, am a control freak very organised, I have to at least feel like some of these things are in my control (hence the testing obsession!) whereas really, what will be, will be.

The great joy is that we do all have mumsnet to vent, rage, whinge, celebrate and moan on - and your DH will be thrilled when you get that BFP in a matter of weeks!!

Heebychick · 12/09/2008 12:03

Hi,

Do any of you wish sometimes that you didn't include your partners at all in the whole 'are we?' topic of conversation?? My DH really couldn't be arsed (sorry!) either way and i wonder why i am getting so worked up when he clearly doesn't want to know either way.

If i have a symtpom he tells me 'be quiet and don't tell him' and when i said i had done a test he told me off for being stupid as i was only a few days late.

I am now at the point where i'm too scared to mention it because of fear of him huffing and puffing about it like i'm some obsessed carzy person.

Sorry to rant but if it wasn't for you guys i'd feel 100% alone.

Why are we bothering i ask myself? he huffs when i mention BDing and says 'it will happen when it happens' but if you don't do a bloody test you will never know!!!

Feeling totally delfated now, wish i hadn't mentioned it at all and waited till he noticed a bump then said 'oh yes sorry did i forget to tell you'

SparkyMalarky · 12/09/2008 10:39

Oh girls.....! Martini / gin/ wine at the ready for this evening

Makingafamily what news?!!

Heeby - so glad nothing is actually wrong....and at least you got a good idea for timing!!

WanabeMum · 12/09/2008 09:34

Aww ladies I'm so sorry for you both but never mind, we will keep going together! Next month is going to be the one, i can feel it!

Come on makingafamily we are all eager!

Mylittlebubble · 12/09/2008 09:16

Heeby I think I'll leave it now, if I can! I'll wait for some defo signs eg Sore boobs etc before doing it again. Can't afford to keep testing every week!!!

Come on Makingafamily I'm on tenderhooks!

Heebychick · 12/09/2008 09:10

Hi ladies, can i join the thread next month please! BFN this morn but not upset as given what the doc said it was to be expected either way. So nelix shall we hold hands next week for a test???

Sorry bubble for your BFN too, will you test again?

Maybe it's fate we're all just meant to stay together!

got a friend coming any mo so will check in after she's left

lots of love to you all ... let hope makingafamily has some good news!
xx

Mylittlebubble · 12/09/2008 09:00

Thanks Nelix - I'm not too upset as it was our first month of properly trying and would have been very lucky to fall that quickly! I think I'll do more knicker checking next month, oh and BD more that might help

nelix2000 · 12/09/2008 08:55

sorry for your news bubble BUT no AF is still a good sign

hebby looks like you got some answers and will be testing the same day as me!(ish)

BeckyMcG · 12/09/2008 08:47

yep - roll on next months challenge! It seems such a long wait ........ although I'd definitely say enjoy the weekend and try not to let it get you down (easier said than done I know).

Love the rules funtime and since I am never in charge of toddler and don't have a car I often partake in lazy weekend vino fueled lunches - in fact have got one planned today!

At least one more BFP would be good - our group should get smaller month on month ideally till hopefully there's no one left and we're all on the 'due in' threads.

Heeby was just reading about collapsed follicle which apparantly happens every month after ovulation. The website I was reading said it stays collapsed for 72 hours. Although like your doc said - could have been a burst cyst? FRom what I've read it doesn't seem like your symptoms match a burst follicle. Although I'm not a doc - sometimes wonder if the internet gives us TMI - an overload in fact!

Mylittlebubble · 12/09/2008 07:06

Hi Girls, I got a BFN this morning! Not surprised wasn't holding out much hope.

Hope it's good news for you Heeby and Makingafamily Good luck

Roll on next month's challenge x

makingafamily · 11/09/2008 22:15

fingers crossed for all those testing in the morning

Jools1 · 11/09/2008 21:45

Just dropping by with some good vibes for the morning

Heebychick · 11/09/2008 21:00

Fantastic rules funtime can i adopt them please?! i love them! and totally agree with them all (especially the first!) although i have been known to stand by the kettle waiting for it to boil so i can heat up babies morning milk and seen the half bottle of open wine and thought 'hmm ... no!'

funtimewincies · 11/09/2008 20:18

Heeby - pleased to hear that you've got some answers at last. And if it's a BFN tomorrow, well, you never know next week .

Sorry to hear that AF has seen fit to spoil the party Queenie. Red or white or you can join Wanabe and myself in a Martini?

I live by 3 essential truths...

  1. As long as you're not driving or in danger of being tipsy and in charge of a toddler, it's NEVER too early for a glass of wine.
  2. There is ALWAYS time for more cake.
  3. A well-fitting bra hides a multitude of sins.
Heebychick · 11/09/2008 19:56

Evening ladies!

queenie what a baggage! how dare she, without warning too, nasty mare! Sorry that this month wasnt yours, looks like next month will be a nice full thread again (tho sad that we need one at all huh and not a 'e are due in ... 'one! ho hum)

becky how frustrating for you! it would be worth doing one before spain i agree, just so you know i guess and can relax either way maybe.

Well ... my saga has an update!

Dr called and said in theory all is normal but there was one thing she saw that they had commented on and that was a right side ovary collapsed follicle something or other ... which she said would either mean basically that i have just ovulated or that i in fact had a cyst and it has just dispersed or burst/gone etc.... so this means that i probably ovulated later (not when i thought) which would mean i am probably back on my 'normal' long cycle of 32 days and late ovulating again and also we were rubbish at BDing at that time as been so busy the week before!

So i am now probably not 'late' after all but in fact on time and only 7 or 8 DPO.

Does anyone know how long the 'follicle' stays collpased after ovulation?

anyway i am pleased to have some answers at last, she has put me in for another scan in 6 weeks or so just to check all is fine, she said it was strange that the mentioned it if it was a normal OV.

So i am still gonna test tomorrow but won't get too wound up about the BFN. As in theory i am only half way through the 2ww. So will do another next week if so.

I feel pleased that i have a result (sort of) but a bit deflated as had secretly hoped this might be it.

nelix2000 · 11/09/2008 17:08

heeby how did you go???

OP posts:
BeckyMcG · 11/09/2008 16:44

Good to catch up, haven?t been on for a couple of days. Sorry to see AF arrived ladies ? we can do it all again next month ? am sure I?ll be with you!. Good luck to those testing tomorrow ? will be thinking of you.

As I?ve said a few times who knows where I am in my cycle after the MC, I?m afraid for this reason I haven?t abstained from drinking but haven?t been going too mad either. I did a preg test this morning (a cheapie internet one) for no reason whatsoever ? and it was negative of course. I?m going to do another one next Wednesday before I go to Spain but don?t hold much hope,

Good luck again ? incredible self restraint!

queenie1 · 11/09/2008 16:43

Just went to the loo and what do you know, AF! What a witch! So can't join you in the test-a-thon tomorrow. At least it means I don't waste my new tests. Maybe next month eh? Meanwhile, is it too early for a glass of wine?

funtimewincies · 11/09/2008 13:49

Afternoon ladies. Sparky - it's great to hear from you, I was beginning to fret.

I'm getting ludicrously excited on everyone's behalf for tomorrow, might have to plonk ds in front of Ceebeebies so that I can find out the results! Heeby, the weeing sounds promising.

I've just had 2 rounds of buttery toast slathered with pate and redcurrant jelly. I had a poached egg for breakfast, so what else do I need to eat in the next couple of days to get my AF revenge?

Heebychick · 11/09/2008 13:37

ha ha jools had to laugh at your 'expanding boob line' comment, i feel the same, i keep looking down and thinking 'they're impressive! they're probably not but hey i can imagine!

xx

Jools1 · 11/09/2008 13:21

Whether I'm PG or not, I always love this bit of the 2WW when my boobs expand dramatically ! I keep catching them out of the corner of my eye - the only time of the month I have any cleavage to shout about !!

Only drawback is I can't do aerobics because, even in a sports bra, they bounce around too much and it hurts
