Thanks Heeby

Weeeelllll

I ignored my own advice because I am working from home today and have done sweet FA apart from obsessing and procrastinating - dug out the Boots test I had squirreled away and tried that.

It is one of those horrible + / - tests that I've never used before - heart stopping moment when I realised I was looking for the cross in the wrong box, then what looks like might be a very very faint positive came up - one bar of the cross was visible but really thin and faint. In keeping with the spirit of the thread, I took the test apart to have a closer look and try to work out whether there is colour in the faint line, or this is just a crappy test and I am seeing the line where the second line of the cross should be...

Result - I'm no further forward and wish I'd never bothered I guess I need to get some more sensitive tests or use FMU....

Hi ladies,

Very mad day at work today! but wanted to get 5 mins to check in and say hi, sooo glad no one is leaving our thread! it's lovely to be part of it and i pray we all stay now.

jools it does sound positive, if it helps i'm with you totally, i had all the symptoms before (but then had that cyst) and tested early lots with BFN's all the way. It is heartbreaking and as much as you try to be positive and block it out it is so tough, it's all you think about. I would wait until you can spend the day together and enjoy the news or comfort each other. After all if you are PG then you still will be on sunday. Also (and this is a big issue for me) on sunday there is pretty much no way you could be early so a BFN would be a definate BFN and a BFP would be clearer. The only reason we test early is impatience, and that's no reason to rush it.

yellow that is great news, how reassuring to know you will be supported all the way - now you have to prove him wrong by getting PG before Christmas!

sparky & nelix please stay with us and share your baby dust! funny reading about your smells and tastes, it's been a while since i had this but remember being very turned off mushrooms! yuk!

wannabe your BD time has come round quick, i'm only on CD5 so just finishing AF then i'll be back on it!

simple and wasibi good luck girls, keep us posted ! and simple - a line is a line - sounds very exciting!!!

yellowflowers · 18/09/2008 13:28

I have good news. Not a BFP but my consultant called me today (I am his patient because of pcos) and he said if I haven't conceived by christmas to call him and he will ask for me to have an appt straight away and start testing for other causes. I have to lose weight though. Good incentive to do so.

nelix2000 · 18/09/2008 13:18

Hello ladies! oh I was so hoping to check back for a BFP!

Nope heeby I have not joined another thread...I am here till the end! you ladies are my thread!....aww look at me all cheesy I even spelt it right!!!! lol thank for pointing that one out jools

ANd simple that sounds very very good!...oooh.....yay!

WanabeMum · 18/09/2008 13:13

Aww Jools!! It is an aweful time, sort of in limbo, but you do have very positive symptoms so don't write yourself off just yet.
Even if you caved in, tested tonight and got a BFN you could still get a BFP on Sunday! Keep positive

I've started using my fertility monitor and was a low level today. I'm on CD10 tomorrow so hoping my fertile period won't be far away! Back on the BD-ing and GFJ now.

Jools1 · 18/09/2008 12:40

Wanabe - glad you have faith in me and Sparky - I don't have will power, just an irrational fear of a BFN and the embarrassment and soul searching that will follow as I try and work out how on earth I managed to imagine all these symptoms

According to Fertility Friend, AF is due tomorrow or Sat. I only have data on my last 3 cycles - last days were CD26, CD22 (CP) and CD29 last month. Today is CD29. However, for the last few cycles, I've always had spotting a couple of days before the main event, which is why I worry I am out every time I see some brown CM. I keep reminding myself of the symptoms I have noted, particularly hot nipples and poking sensation in tum, because surely I couldn't imagine that ?

We have work drinks tomorrow - I may test in the morning as FF recommends, or I may just not drink and not test till Sat. Going to a wedding on Sat - am driving so wouldn't be having more than a glass of wine anyway. If I tested Sat morning, I'd then go off to this wedding without DP, so I don't think I could tell him, then leave him stewing with the news for a day ...

Don't know what to do .... Sunday seems the better option, but such a long way away !

I seem to imagine spot more symptoms in the afternoon - if I do feel something significant, may rethink testing this PM.

Being confused and pathetic today !

WanabeMum · 18/09/2008 12:16

Hello ladies,

Must say I'm surprised that there are no results as such yet! great willpower ladies! and simple sounding very positive for you. They say a faint positive is still a positive!! keep us posted.

Jools i think i would have caved by now so good for you! is your AF due tomorrow? if so are you likely to test then or wait until it's late on Saturday? (I have faith)

Sparky im so sorry you're weepy! It's very embarrassing getting upset in front of the doctor (been there!) but they see worse, and at least now you have an early scan so can start to relax a little. Quick question, ERCP? sorry, im assuming it's not nice/good but not sure what it is.

wasabipeanut · 18/09/2008 11:47

Hi girls,

Great news Simple - as Jools said, keep the faith. A line is a line! Look forward to hearing an update there.

Jools, I hope so much that this turns out well for you. Yo are right not to test early - seeing repeated negatives is soul destroying as well as expensive. I am so annoyed with myself for wasting a test on Tuesday. Fingers crossed at any rate for tomorrow.

Well, I am still feeling sick but have a feeling this is related to whatever I had yesterday because I got some brown spotting this morning which is how AF signals her arrival. Beatch.

PS I watched that restaurant thing too before DH sent me to bed. The cutlery thing was great!

SparkyMalarky · 18/09/2008 11:39

Hey Heeby - telling the doc was v strange. I burst into tears as soon as I said I was pregnant as I am worried. She was absolutely lovely, had read my notes about my m/c and ERPC, gave me lots of sympathy, referred me straight to my local hospital and has asked that I have an early scan at 7/8 weeks at least. So....fingers crossed that everything is fine.

My hormones are so screwed that am crying at anything (hence the tears in her office!) which is really my key symptom...that, the weeing (up at least once most nights now!) and from this morning, the fact that I feel quite dizzy and sick. I know that I should eat something but there is NOTHING that I fancy. Except maybe some toast, but am in the office so no chance of that. Oh and I can smell lots of things...which is not helping (could smell someone's hand cream in a meeting yesterday). or maybe I'm imagining all of these things?!

Blimey that was a post and a half!! I haven't joined any antenatal thread yet - you are all too lovely to leave

So what's happened to the testathon? Jools you have more will power that I can imagine; Heeby how are your enormous norks? any other symptoms?

Cannot wait for the challenge tonight now...the father and daughter annoy me SOOOO much, and why call a restaurant Sorbet and Seasons if you don't serve sorbet?!!

I did feel sorry for the couple who've left their 1 year old with its grandparents so they can take part tho....

Jools1 · 18/09/2008 11:16

Keep the faith simpletwistoffate - you never know, that line may be darker in a couple of days

I nearly caved in and tested - was in the bathroom with one ready - but wiped first, just to check, and could see some brownish CM.

So, I put the test away and will wait to see what today brings. I've had so many symptoms, I'll be devastated if it is a BFN, so I am afraid of it

My AF always starts with a day or two of increasing brown CM, so I am nervous. After two cycles of testing every day from 11DPO, I resolved not to test early ever again ...

simpletwistoffate · 18/09/2008 10:00

Well sparky and nelix, I would love to say I'd definitely be joining ye, but I've no real news yet.

Did a test this morning, and a normal person would say it was a bfn, but it does have the faintest of lines...but then again it could be just in my head at this stage.

tmi, but have continued to have a bit of brownish cm/spotting, but no af, and i wouldn't get this for a day or two beforehand like this time... so still hopeful - then again, had no spotting at all with dd.

Feeling really sick here in work this morning, and have a very tough day of meetings ahead, but at least it will help to keep my mind off ttc.

If af doesn't arrive, I'll test again on Saturday morning.

Thinking of you today wasabi and jools1. Good luck with testing whether today/tomorrow.
Hope everyone else doing well.

Jools1 · 18/09/2008 09:27

Hi Sparky

The challenge is tonight - pillock father and his daughter who played safe with only 13 people in the restaurant, the two air stewards who completely ignored Raymonds advice and another couple (girl has dark curly hair) who completely overbooked and ran out of food are in it. The challenge is mass catering at a motorway service station - should be quite funny to watch !

I've just come back from a physio appt - quite painful lying on your front with boobs like rugby balls !

I haven't tested yet - can't decide whether to wait till tomorrow as today is only 13DPO...

come on everyone else, I want to hear those BFP's rolling in

Nelix - I think you meant to type a GRIN and put GIN instead - fabulous freudian slip

Heebychick · 18/09/2008 09:26

It's the challenge tonight! i'm not sure about most of the couples this time! fancy leaving the inspector without cutlery! argh!

The suspense is killing me! lets hope they are all celebrating and too busy to tell us the good news!

Have you joined an antenatal thread yet nelix and sparky? what was telling the Dr like sparky?

I am determined to catch up with you both this month, i feel totally different and very positive (and painless!) plus with lots of sun and sand i might just get busy more often!!!

SparkyMalarky · 18/09/2008 09:18

TEST DAY!!!!! am so excited any news yet?

What happened in the restaurant? someone called and I missed the end? Is it the challenge tonight, or did someone get booted out already?

I could not believe that last week that mother and daughter made mango and cream for Raymond Blanc!!!

And yes Nelix - the father and daughter team are hilarious!!!!

nelix2000 · 18/09/2008 08:39

good morning! do we have any good news????Gin...oh I love the resteraunt! tho that father daughter team..the father is a total pillock!!!!

Hi Heeby I was watching The Restaurant too but with one cat on my lap and the other one cuddled up next to me on the sofa, there was no room for the laptop !!

According to Fertility Friend, I should wait till Friday to test. Haven't decided whether to hold out till then or not - terrified of how a BFN will make me feel after all these symptoms, so would rather wait as long as possible. having said that, I'm working from home tomorrow and the tests will be calling me from the knicker drawer !

Had a bit of a wobble and started doubting myself last night, then had a little more brownish CM today but - TMI alert - it did not look like the pre-AF stuff - was wetter ?

Went to my spinning class this evening and had plenty of energy but my tum just felt odd, so I got worried and didn't stay for the whole class, especially since I went a bit dizzy on a standing climb and nearly fell off the bike. When I got home, things smelt wierdly strong - cat food, camembert in the fridge ... and I felt really quite queasy until I'd eaten.

If I'm not PG after all this, then I'm going to see a psychiatrist !!

Hello to everyone else Hope you are feeling better Wasabi

Heebychick · 17/09/2008 20:49

Evening ladies - watching the 'restaurant' at the mo feeling very nervous for the guys!

So good luck tomorrow - who is first? wasabi simple jools how exciting! lets hope we have more BFP'ers eh! i have to say jools your 'symptoms' sound great!

I will be back on to GFJ this weekend, am away with my mum and nan Fri-Mon then it's back on track with the BDing! hurrah!

I have had my next appt for next scan which is 16th Oct, 2 days after we get back from hols and it will be CD33 (and maybe BFP by then!!!) i hope i get some more signs of OVing this month, if not i will be following your lead wanabe and getting a fertility monitor or some OV sticks.

funtimewincies · 17/09/2008 19:39

Evening ladies. I've also lost track, but good luck to anyone testing soon. Lol Wanabe, neurotic - moi? .

More sorting and scrubbing today with ds off at Grandma's. And I still haven't done the bathroom. She's not the sort of MIL who runs a gloved finger over your shelves, but I do want it to be nice for her (and sort of justify being at home with ds at the moment ).

I know - more wine! Then everything will look fab in soft focus, result!

Mylittlebubble · 17/09/2008 17:33

Sorry I'm losing track who is testing tomorrow and friday? It is so exciting to keep catching up on the BFP, hope they keep coming

wasabipeanut · 17/09/2008 14:19

Hi everyone, well I've had an intersting morning - some vom bug I think. Started at 5am and continued until about 10. At frst I thought - yay morning sickness but it so isn't.

I wouldn't go from 0 to 100 like that. Anyway is calming down now thank god - couldn't even keep water down earlier. Vile. No sign of AF either but I bet this disrupts it.

Hope eveyone else is feeling more lively!

WanabeMum · 17/09/2008 13:08

Hey ladies,

I've decided to try using the monitor anyway, just lied a bit about my CD so as of tomorrow im hoping it will start checking my hormone levels.

nelix the main reason i got the fertility monitor is to check i am actually ovulating, silly i know but didn't pay full price (£99!!) got it on ebay for half that. Still expensive i know but i'm starting to convince myself that im not ovulating so can't conceive so maybe it will put my mind at rest. (sorry, the obsession/neuroticism is creeping back!!)

Glad both our BFP-ers are well and happy!

Those of you testing tomorrow, GOOD LUCK! and for everyone else, HAPPY BD-ing!!!

simpletwistoffate · 17/09/2008 10:37

hi jools1, i'm due af tomorrow, cd28. Will be testing in the morning if i don't come on properly today.

not feeling many symptoms today, and pretty nervous.

hope you have a good day today - roll on the morning.
