Hello everyone!

All sympathy to you, ilove and yellow, so sorry to hear your news.

As I said, DH and I are visiting my parents (in Germany) for a few days at the moment, so I've been out of touch - hard to get on MN with mum hovering over shoulder! They don't know we're TTC and have been giving me puzzled looks when I refuse wine! Anyone else feel reticent about letting people in real life know you're TTC, especially parents? Thank heavens for MN!!

I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, as this is my first cycle off the pill, but I'm 7 days post OV and had quite a surge in my temp this morning. No other symptoms whatsoever, though, and I suppose body clock or thermal regulation could be messed up by travelling. So, bated breath for another 10 days or so...

So glad to be part of this thread, especially while I'm away!!

SparkyMalarky · 29/09/2008 18:41

Hello all Am spotting a few friendly names on other threads I'm lurking on . So the following might not mean an awful lot (but am trying to limit my AN/PG threads until I'm certain this bean is sticky!)

Jools - you and I are exactly the same size....but am put to shame by your fitness regime (I spent yesterday afternoon asleep on the sofa)

Ilove - an early mc like you've had is soo common. Remember it's only cause we have so sensitive tests that we even know. I know that doesn't make it any less painful, but when I had mine at 9 weeks, they said that a single mc made no difference to the likelihood of future pgs..

Yellowflowers - sorry you think it was a CP - but summer babies are lovely

How's everyone else? GFJ at the ready?

I think the thread has a bit more space before it fills up -we can have upto 999 posts so we can all hang out here before Nelix and her magic touch sets up a new one

Jools1 · 29/09/2008 13:25

Yellowflowers - I am the same !! Have ended up joining 3 antenatal threads I tend to stay logged on and dip in and out all day whilst at work though - tis good to talk

smileycat · 29/09/2008 13:20

A link would be great if any of you are starting up a new thread. I really look forward every day to reading what everyone has been up to, knowing that there are many more out there trying just like me and hearing all your do's & don'ts, count me in for the July/support group thread yellow so sorry it didn't work out this month July will be a great month to have a baby..fingers/toes/legs & anything else that can possibly be crossed for us all that next month will be a happy one

yellowflowers · 29/09/2008 13:19

sure, no probs. I like having a few threads I am on - feel I am boring different people rather than the same ones every time. And this is a lovely group.x

Jools1 · 29/09/2008 13:12

Not really my decision any more , but for what its worth, I think you are better off having a thread that is not time-boxed to June, July or any other date, but a place for what is now a lovely little group of virtual friends to come and support each other

I think also, that some people who have been TTC for a long time are getting a bit at the dated threads, interpreting them as somebody talking about actually planning for a June / July baby (when they just long for a baby anytime) rather than someone simply picking themselves up after the 2WW and moving on to the next cycle.

I'd suggest something along the lines of "A support group for GFJ swilling test destroyers"

Do what works best for you If you want me to start a thread and link it, I will happily do that

yellowflowers · 29/09/2008 13:02

you're all very welcome on the July thread I started if that helps.

WanabeMum · 29/09/2008 12:16

Hey ladies,

How were your weekends?
funtime the SATC film is Sex & The City! It's such a fabulous girly flick especially if you love the series.

Who is going to be brave and start the new thread? I would but have no idea how to do the link etc!!

Think we need a new one now ladies, what do you think?

yellowflowers · 29/09/2008 10:01

oooh thanks Jools. Well here's hoping. Hope your pregnancy is going well xx

Jools1 · 29/09/2008 09:54

At least you have your answer now YellowFlowers and can move forward ...

I had something similar on my first cycle TTC - definite symptoms of implantation, only the faint BFP was really really early and a very very heavy AF arrived 2 days early

2 cycles later, I have my BFP I think I read somewhere that you are more fertile just after any sort of CP or M/C - if that is true, maybe July is your month

yellowflowers · 29/09/2008 09:34

My heavy period stopped yesterday so lasted for 3 days altogether. But having had two very very very faint lines on tests on the weekend I now have nothing on test today so reckon it was cp.

Well, fingers crossed for July...

Ilovebeingamummy · 28/09/2008 20:19

thankyou x

yellowflowers · 28/09/2008 19:56

Hi,

I'm still on period but did another test today and the faintest of faint lines on a clear blue non digital. Am guessing if it is positive it's a cp that is ending as am on normal heavy period. Will do one with first wee tomorrow too just to check but it really is faint - I don;t have to hold up to light but it is seriously barely there. I would take heart though, if also a line tomorrow, that our sperm and egg does work, just this one didn't stick.

Thinking of you ilovebeingamummy

Ilovebeingamummy · 28/09/2008 19:47

HI all

Well I am starting to get my head together now and accept that we just have to move on to next month.

With hindsight I recognise that I knew something wasn;t right when i was a week overdue before getting a very faint positive.

When do you think CD1 is in this situation?

Hope everyone else is doing ok x

funtimewincies · 27/09/2008 19:29

Jools, you must stay! Rather than remind me of disappointments, it reminds me that there is light!

Anyway, I'm seriously thinking of mounting a dawn raid on Sparky's haribo and need someone to distract her with pregnancy talk .

What is the SATC film by the way?! .

ExistentialistCat · 27/09/2008 11:20

jools you must keep visiting! I agree with wannabe - you and nelix and sparky are proof that it CAN be done and are morally obliged to scatter your magic baby dust all over this thread at every available opportunity!

I'm a devotee of fertility friend, can't recommend it highly enough. It gives you lovely charts and calendars and predictions and satisfies my controlfreakery just wonderfully.

That said, I need an opinion from more experienced TTCers (this being my first go): Having just come off the pill (I know, I know, I need to wait several cycles for things to get back to normal, but I'm afraid I cannot list patience amongst my virtues), my CM has been nonexistent to scant. Based on my temps, FF tells me I ovulated on Monday. Today I noticed a certain wetness and thought ooh, could this be wet CM? I entered "wet" into FF and it took away my ovulation date!! So I've decided it's more "creamy" than wet , which means I get to keep my OV. But I might have to avail myself of the parental squeaky sofabed just in case...

Have other people found it difficult to classify CM according to the specific categories outlined by FF? I find it rather subjective, all too easy to see what I want to see...

smileycat · 27/09/2008 08:37

yellow big hug

funtime not sure if I OV every month yet, we only decided to start trying last month so I havn't quite worked out my pattern yet. I still get OV pains every month but my mind plays tricks on me to whether I still get the thick sticky stuff that comes with OV'ing or if that was before the op as I wasn't really taking much notice before this month. My doc seems to think that the good one will make up for the one that has gone and produce for both. We thought we would try for a few months 1st & then if no joy we will go back to the docs and find out for sure what my patterns are...hope this helps

Jools1 · 26/09/2008 22:21

Happy Holidays Heeby

Hopefully we will be organised enough to also leave a link to the new thread at the end of this one

WanabeMum · 26/09/2008 22:20

Hey heeby nice to see you or hear from you anyway. Glad you're looking forward to your holiday, it'll be fabulous. Hmm i wonder if your body is trying to tell you something?! keep BD-ing to make sure lol

Jools i just looked on the website and i can join at the moment so may look into in over the weekend. Sounds good but i can't do the whole temperature thing as well as the fertility monitor, my poor DH will have kittens (then id be a millionnaire!! tee hee) bless

Can't believe everyone is OV'ing already, how fast has this gone? before we know it we will be back on the 2WW again all miserably praying for a sign! oh well, tired now so g'night everyone
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Heebychick · 26/09/2008 22:11

ps if you have to start a new thread cos this one gets full before i'm back can you put the GFJ accronym on the title so i can find it please?!!

Heebychick · 26/09/2008 22:10

Evening ladies,

What a long time it took to catch up!

exist welcome honey, and if it helps (and as the others have mentioned) my DH is totally 'stick your head in the sand and hope the stork comes' he won't talk about the whole 'making a baby' thing, and refuses to listen to my obsessing, thank goodness for MN is all i can say!! You are exactly in the right place, obsess away with us!

jools STAY - you are our beacon of hope, lovely to hear about your symptoms, even tho i'm sure they're not nice to have mostly. Hope you are feeling bit better soon hun.

yellow not sure what to say, i do remember having a faint line, just left of centre when i was PG with DD, but please don't let that build your hopes up. I pray it is good news though, fingers are crossed here!

ilove poor you honey, most of us here (including me) have been there so when you feel up to it come back and we'll be here with lots of hugs waiting.

wanabe you might be right, it would make sense as it's the OV egg fluid stuff that causes cysts i think so that could be true, will wait and see i guess.

(((( hugs to everyone else))))

Well i am relaxing finally after a very busy day packing and sorting the house out, we are leaving on sunday morning so will try and get online tomorrow to check in on everyone. I am feeling weird today, no more real pain only a slight niggles on my right side and lots of small cramps in my tummy, also my (.)(.) tingle and i have felt sicky all day, i'm totally convinced it is because of OVing and pre-holiday nerves but did hover over the PG tests today - will i ever learn!!!

Jools1 · 26/09/2008 22:09

Fertility Friend is a great site for inputting your cycle dates - it learns from the info you give it so it can predict ovulation and fertile days. You can enter lots of fertility signs - cervix position, EWCM, ovulation predictor tests etc and record symptoms you spot, so you can look back on the records, compare other peoples charts etc.

It is I think mainly for people who take their temp every day to monitor when they ovulate but I used it just to enter data and am now using the FF Pregnancy Calendar It really helped me understand my cycles better

Ive read somewhere that they are only accepting new memberships if you are referred by an existing member if so, let me know and I'll recommend you

WanabeMum · 26/09/2008 21:57

Aww that's fab! All your symptoms are happy ones (well except the nausea obviously!) im so happy for you and can't wait until all of the TTC-ers left on here can all start an antenatal thread!
The lacking antenatal care in your area is a bit naff though. You'll just have to vent to us all on here until it all kicks in. And you have to spread the babydust too! take care honey xx

Can i ask what this Fertility Friend is all about? Anyone know?

Jools1 · 26/09/2008 21:53

5 weeks today so it is feeling more real I've told a couple of close friends, one of who is also PG and one who has just had her first baby Booked in with GP and discovered antenatal care in my area is a bit lacking - no dating or nuchal scans and no booking in till 12 weeks so I feel kind of on my own - thank goodness for Mumsnet

Ummm symptoms - feeling fat - probably because of excessive consumption of choc during 2WW ! Very pleased with my new found cleavage, but boobs get v v sore in the evenings. I've had the most horrendous cold ever - seems so much more awful when I can't even have a lemsip - would have breezed through it otherwise I can't do Morrisons - super sense of smell makes me heave round the fish counter ! Have been feeling nauseous for a lot of the day during this week - seems to be brought on by tiredness and hunger. Have been v v v tired, but am not sure if that is the cold or being PG. I am soooooooo happy though - get teary emotional at times but never angry or irritable

WanabeMum · 26/09/2008 21:42

Jools!!! you must stick around as a source of what is to come! We need you and Sparky and Nelix because we can keep the faith that it does happen and will happen as long as we keep persisting.

How are you anyway? Any symptoms? or are you ticking along nicely?
