I'd like to confirm that I have also failed to cut out alcohol. If we are still ttc in a year I'll think about it but until then....

I think if we are successful I'll know pretty sharpish.

Becky - OPK's are not an exact science from what I can gather. Keep going with them and as wanabemum says you may be oving later than you think. This is certainly what I've established about myself this month. Its also possible depending on the time of days you test to actually mias the surge altogether - they do vary in length. Do you look for any other signs? CM, temp etc. ?

Funtime, hip you feel better soon

Hey funtime sorry to hear you have a bad shoulder. Tendonitis is aweful! Hope you recover quickly. Can imagine that it has made it difficult for you to ttc this month, but you never know!

Bubble i'm glad you made up, and in the best way possible! it's always the fun part of an arguement!

Becky welcome back (you seem to have been gone for ages!)don't worry too much that you haven't OV'd yet. My cycle is usually around 29-32 days and I ovulated on CD21 this month! so there's hope yet for you. keep persevering with the ov sticks and see what happens. Plus i haven't cut out the alcohol completely either. The way i see it is women didn't find out as early as we do now and so they didn't change their lives completely to conceive. Although tbh i do feel a little guilty when i reach for the wine glass!
Looks like you'll be in batch 2 of the testers this month with wasabi and the other ladies.

Fingers, toes, eyes, and legs (well sort of) firmly crossed for lots more BFP's this month ladies!!!!!

Mylittlebubble · 02/10/2008 21:29

Well we did make up . Dropped little one off at granny's and made some excuse of having to go somewhere without her and went home and hopefully, hopefully, cut at the right time

Looking forwad to the testing news bring it on girls x

funtimewincies · 02/10/2008 20:12

Hi all, sorry that I've been neglectful. I've no idea what is happening this month, I've not felt ov and I've no idea if I even have. I've also been on medication for tendonitis in my shoulder and the packet reckons that it might make it difficult to conceive. The pain has also scuppered bd'ing, so conception this month would have to be immaculate (well, nearly ).

Good luck and here we go with another week of dest destroying .

BeckyMcG · 02/10/2008 18:17

Hey girls,

Sorry to hear the bad news ladies ? I think getting positive hopes up and then being let down is worst than just getting AF!! Ahhhh??.. I?ve been very busy both at work and personally but the latest for me is that I have been peeing on my OV sticks every day and no positive at all. Have done them every day from CD10 and now at CD 16 and my usual cycle is 28 days exactly ? what is going on?? Anyway ? am persevering with the BD-ing most days which I think mainly hubby enjoys however many more months of this could be tiring!

Am afraid I haven?t cut out alcohol while I?m trying yet, just cut back as don?t want to put life and social life on hold but maybe is no success by Xmas will reconsider in the new year????

AF due on 14th for me???.

Glad all those with the good news are coming to see us from time to time! Ok ? who?s going to start us a new thread? I?m scared I won?t be able to find it!!!

Hello everyone,

Sorry bubble men can be so frustrating at times, and it's horrible falling out with your DP/DH normally without it being when you're TTC. and hope it's all sorted now. Plus make-up BD-ing is fab!!

I'm so happy today, very excited, and a little nervous because my fertility monitor said "high" again today after 2 days of "peak" which means I definately OV'd yesterday and we BD'd 4 times in the last 2 days ............ just to make sure!
So we have caught it perfectly this month and now I'm in the waiting stage again. Gosh it comes around so quickly!

Fingers crossed everyone!

wasabipeanut · 02/10/2008 09:35

Oh Bubble, hope you've sorted everything now. I do understand your irritation. My OPK test came up positive this am along with rivers of EWCM and DH is going to his work party tonight so what is poss my ripest day is gone.

Don't want to say that though as want to avoid DH feeling like a baby making machine. Oh well, I will jump on him tomorrow night and we'll see what happens! TBH, I'm not too upset as I wanted this month to throw every thing I had at the process (temping, OPK's etc.) to see when I ov'd and it looks like it is later than I thought which does explain a few things.

ExistentialistCat · 02/10/2008 06:17

Aw, cyber-hug to you bubble. I know it's horrible when you're in the middl of that sort of situation, but, in my case, when it passes I can't help but laugh at myself for letting my CM dictate our relationship like this (ie if EW try to be nice at all costs!!)...

Hello wasabi - nice to know that I'm not the only one using that strategy, especially since it feels faintly deceitful. Lol at weeing on sticks etc!

Thought I'd add myself to the list. Not sure if it's in any particular order so I've just stuck myself at the bottom:

Mylittlebubble · 01/10/2008 20:48

Grr... DH has pissed me off and to prove a point I am in a sulk with him. The big problem is I had EWCM today so think I might be ripe tonight!!Having a glass of wine to cheer myself up and get over it, it was a silly arguement.

smileycat · 01/10/2008 14:35

Hi all
Can I add my dates to the list, we've been doing loads of BDing over the last week just to try & catch the right time, I havn't started on the OV testing yet as I didn't know they existed until I came onto MN (1st month of trying) but I'm the same as you mylittlebubble, everything seems tight, getting lots of niggly pains where I havn't had them before, (.)(.) are sore and a stubben headache that doesn't want to go away, but it could be just a big build up for my AF as sometimes I'm only 3 weeks at the mo...but still can't help getting excited, looks like most of us are due to test/get AF around the same time

wasabipeanut · 01/10/2008 11:47

Hello everyone,

Just checking in as been away in France for a few days for a wedding. Yellow and Ilove I'm really sorry to hear that things haven't gone your way. Fingers crossed that Jools and Sparky can throw some babydust our way - both of you I hope you are feeeling good and not too pukey!

Welcome existential - I know what you mean about dp's "let it just happen" approach. I deal with it by saying "yes, yes of course" and then continuing to pee on sticks and access fertily friend in secret

Well I am CD14 and according to ov sticks I'm not oving yet, but didn't start till day 12 because we were away and I forgot so might have missed it. Dagnammit. Had loads of EWCM and usual zit outbreak and have been BDing anyway so we'll see. I had a hunch I was oving later than day 14 so this may confirm although I still hae a 28 day cycle. Wierd.

So tired today, poor ds was up and down last night with teething (poor thing has just got his first at 13 months!) - I think several are coming at once. Remind me again why I want another one so much???

WanabeMum · 01/10/2008 07:48

Good morning everyone!

Existentialist don't be silly! We all love hearing about other people's excitement, makes us all realise we're not alone! Even if people don't say it on here, most of us get very worked up during the 2WW!

Hi bubble that's exciting! Keep us updated!

Everyone I'm so happy, can't stop smiling because actually think i may be in with a chance! We did lots of BD-ing last night (sorry if tmi!) and this morning I have OV pains (i think ) it feels like a stitch on my right side.
Yay! 2WW here I come!!!!

nelix im very proud of your fitness efforts!!

Mylittlebubble · 30/09/2008 21:10

Hi Guys, hope you've al been very busy.

Now I have a feeling in my belly but think I might be getting excited yet again! I feel tight across my lady garden area and a little tender! probably too early blah blah but needed to share . I have bought my preg test all ready for when the times right although I did promise myself I wouldn't this time until I was late as I normally use them before I'm even due

yellowflowers · 30/09/2008 17:43

Hi Existentialcat - no, that's not so. I mean you getting pg wouldn't stop any of us doing so. best of luck x

ExistentialistCat · 30/09/2008 16:36

Woo-hoo, wannabe, go for it!

jools lol at "Regensbury"!! What a wonderful part of the country to have studied. I'm sort of German (both parents are but I grew up all over the place, feel most at at home in England) so these trips aren't exactly exciting - more a matter of feeling sad that my folks aren't closer so that I can just pop in for a cup of tea. When every family visit has to take at least a few days at a time, the pressure is on.

Thanks for the thoughts on letting other people - especially family - know whether you're TTC (hello smiley, from one cat to another!). I sometimes feel like I'm being a bit mean, witholding this information especially from my parents, when they would sooooo like grandchildren (not that they'd ever actually admit it). But I couldn't face the expectation.

I've had a tiny bit of spotting today and temps remain more elevated than they were just post-OV. Trying not to get my hopes up but failing miserably!! Not sure how/what to say to DH - have stuck with "the signs are looking good but of course we can't be sure of anything" when what I really want to do is to squeal and ask him over and over again whether he thinks I might be pregnant. Good to have MN for that!

It occurs to me that getting so excited even about the vague possibility of being pregnant when I've only just come of the pill might grate on anyone who's had problems. I do hope it doesn't. I'm very well aware that I'm being presumptious and impatient!

nelix2000 · 30/09/2008 16:25

hey everyone! good to catch up! I have been a busy bee.....joined a gym and got put through my paces today loL! have a v good trainer who is taking it easy with me and pregnancy thankfully! good to see everyone here! yes damn it lets fill this thread lol!!!!

OP posts:
smileycat · 30/09/2008 09:06

existentialist & Wanabe I'm the same 2 of the lads that my DH works with are trying and although I know their wifes I don't know them well enough to tell them we are too, they all get so disappointed every month when it doesn't happen & with lots of people asking all the time if they are yet it doesn't help. We have a 10yr DS & thought that he would be our 1 & only so the family have given up asking over the years 'when r u going to give him a sibbling' now that we trying its sooo hard not to tell mum about it, but want to wait till we can say 'I'm PG' rather than just trying......so know exactly how you both feel

Jools1 · 30/09/2008 09:03

Wanabemum - good news about OV'ing - get busy girl

Sparky - I know exactly what you mean and fully intended to lurk, but very quickly got to the point where I simply HAD to talk about what is going on to someone, and since I have told very very few people in RL, MN was the best solution

ExistentialistCat - I am jealous of your Germany trip I studied modern languages to post grad level and loved my time studying in Regensbury - worked out in Stuttgart for 18 months a few years ago and go back most years to see friends and do Christmas shopping in Leipzig

WanabeMum · 30/09/2008 07:51

PS the reason I'm so relieved is im actually on CD21!!!

WanabeMum · 30/09/2008 07:50

Good morning ladies!
sparky didn't realise we could have that many posts on a thread, makes sense to stay while Heeby is away.

Well I'm SSSOOO happy today, my fertility monitor said "peak" which means I am due to OV in the next 24-36hrs, yay!!!!!!! So relieved its unbelievable.

existentialist i totally understand what you mean, my MIL keeps saying "come on now, we need grandchldren!" but can't tell her or the whole world would know and not really up for that kind of pressure, plus we feel it's our secret to tell so will be lovely to tell people when we are actually PG rather than having them speculate every month about if my period will actually arrive!!
