Hope it's okay with everyone but as we're nearly at 999 messages I decided to start this thread to continue the support we've given each other The grapefruit drinking knicker checking ttc brigade

See you over there.
xx

BeckyMcG · 27/10/2008 17:26

If anyone starts a new thread can they share the name?

BeckyMcG · 27/10/2008 17:22

Not sure what those little #61516's are?? hmm, strange - oh, actually I think they're my 's which didn't come out right!!!

BeckyMcG · 27/10/2008 17:10

Hello to all the new ladies. I?ve not been on for a while but have just spent the last hour catching up with everyone over a biccie!!
My situation is I have been trying now for 7 months after using condoms for 4 months to get my cycle regular. I had a miscarriage in month 3 of trying - 6 weeks into pregnancy - and have had 2 failed months of trying since my cycle returned to normal. I know that for both failures I BD?d all through by ovulation time so not sure why it?s not happened for me . I am trying to be much more rational about it (as I became a bit frantic at the time of the MC). This ?rationality? works quite well until AF time where I walk around in a huge mood snapping at my colleagues ? lovely person to be around!

Listen to this story for slim chances!! About 4 years ago my DH and I were using condoms (to be extra safe) as I was on antibiotics for a tooth infection. One of the condoms split so the next afternoon I went to get the morning after pill as we were just about to take a leave of absence from our careers and go traveling round Australia (which we?d been saving really hard for). I didn?t think anything of it and then about 10 weeks later realized AF hadn?t arrived and my boobs were really sore and did test which turned out to be positive!!! I wasn?t pleased (to put it mildly) but made an appointment with doctor for a check-up and when I went for scan they said the baby didn?t have a heartbeat and I then miscarried. Was a strange period for me ? relief at not being PG as the timing was awful but then couldn?t stop crying! Now I realize this was almost an immaculate conception!!! I haven?t thought about it over the years at all really but it?s come to my mind recently as it effectively means I?ve miscarried twice in a row .

Anyhow last night when I got back from a weekend away with friends I did an OPK (day 12 of 28 day cycle) and it was positive so jumped on DH and plan to do so again tonight ands tomorrow so we?ll see. Not getting my hopes up frankly but god loves a try?er!

C1NDY · 27/10/2008 17:09

Pinkie08 I am waiting for AF to arrive, next week on Monday and then I have the 2ww... it sure sucks... why can't we ovulate every week!

Postives - being able to eat shellfish... sushi is one of my favourites

yellowflowers · 27/10/2008 16:55

Positives - hot baths and glasses of wine!

WanabeMum · 27/10/2008 15:24

Hi C1ndy we can keep this thread going until we have 999 posts then we have to start a new one i think.

pinkie08 · 27/10/2008 15:05

Hi all

Sorry havent been on in a while been at my parents over the weekend though. Glad to be away from all th "when you have a baby" comments.

yellow - am loving the positive list it really makes you think about the plus side of life and made me smile too.

into my 2ww which i really hate

C1NDY · 27/10/2008 13:29

I am new to MN, so am just wondering when can we start a new thread.. do we continue until everyone's tested??

C1NDY · 27/10/2008 13:27

WanabeMum I am fine, just realised that my AF is due on 3rd of November and not 29th Oct... such a dimwit. I was using the FF on the net and took the black dot it displayed as my AF.. apart from being a dimwit, I guess I am fine. Just waiting for the dancing to begin again ... I have two weeks to go before I get another chance, its horriable waiting. Definately are not pg as we missed the crucial day as DH and I had a cold.

Fingers and toes crossed that you ovulate late!

C1NDY · 27/10/2008 13:23

Just updated my AF date... Is this the updated list?? I went back as far as I could.

Cindy AF due 3rd November
Smileycat AF due 3rd-8th Nov
Heebychick AF due 3rd Nov
Wasabi AF 12th Nov
Wanabemum AF due 14th - 18th Nov
Becky AF due 11th November
Mylittlebubble AF due 10th - 15th Nov
VillageMum AF due 17th Nov
Pinkie08 AF due 7th Nov

WanabeMum · 27/10/2008 13:23

hi ladies, haven't been on for ages but have been lurking! Heeby seems like this could be your month!!

Funtime i am devastated for you, i'm so so sorry (((((big hugs)))))

Everyone else, hello! liking the positives list, well thought out. I'm CD13 today and DH is off to Amsterdam on Wednesday until Saturday for a stagg weekend (well week!) so really hoping my OV is late like last month. Would be bloody typical for me to OV while he was away though.

I'm trying to be much calmer this month and so far so good. Although it's easy to say when you haven't OV'd and so are not in the 2ww!! I'm sure I'll be right back on the whole neurotic thing when i'm patiently (or not) waiting for the test date!

So, how are you all? Nice weekend? I babysat my niece (Age 3) so was very busy. Was lovely though.

C1NDY · 27/10/2008 13:11

VillageMum Its good to CRY, let it all come out... like my sister says "Better out then in".. so do what you need to, to get emotionally better! and of course I want to natter to you next month about our experiences of trying to hit the bfp. I cried for a week... on and off... it felt wonderful.. all the pain all the stress came flooding out and even though it still hurts and I know I will never forget the only thing that keeps me going is to get that bfp again.

Goush, it makes me so much better to have someone of the same age as me. My birthday is in March, so with all the support here, I am certain that the bfp will arrive soon.

VillageMum · 27/10/2008 12:25

Yellowflowers, Cindy, Heeby, I love the 'positives' lists - keep them coming! I'm going through a really blue patch at the moment; thought I was over the mc I had in September but clearly not - a lot of the emotion is only coming out now. I'm a bit of a wreck TBH; spent most of yesterday crying. Makes me glad we've decided not to ttc till next cycle. Anyway, I should be on cd1 again on 17 November and then we'll start... Cindy I'm 39 too, BTW, would also love to be pg again before I hit 40 next summer!

yellowflowers · 27/10/2008 09:52

Hi C1ndy and heeby - I don't mind - it's a team thing. Any other reasons to be cheerful?
x

C1NDY · 27/10/2008 09:50

Guess what I have recalculated and AF should be due on Monday ... next flipping week! oh drats... I was so looking forward to it arriving on Wednesday.. looks like I have eternity to wait until I can have my moment again...

Heeby It was Yellowflowers idea.. reasons to be cheerful.. but I don't mind getting the praise!! hehee

Not sure what to do now. I will keep poping in and out of here until I know that you have all tested.

If I get bored on Saturday I am going to use my early pg test...only have one left in my bag.

yellowflowers · 27/10/2008 09:35

heeby - he;d only be hurt if he knew!

But don't test - it's too early. Be good...

Heebychick · 27/10/2008 09:26

Hi ladies,

c1ndy lovely idea about the positives, can i also add

-already had one baby (and 2 pregnancies) so i know it CAN happen
-having regular periods does indeed mean you can predict better each month hopefully
-we are healthy loving women who have wonderful husbands/partners who support us (even if we are a bit mad/obsessed/loopy/teary/all of the above (delete as appropriate)

yellow your day sounded lovely, i'm sorry that you had an upsetting time tho, i understand how you feel, my SIL is pg with her second and she had the cheek to announce that it was an 'accident' and 'they weren't trying so what a surprise' and 'could probably do without it right now' and all i can think is 'selfish what-sit' i know that i am being the selfish one and jealous one but it seems unfair doesn't it. Still i know our time will come soon enough.

c1ndy i am tempted to take a test, my (.)(.) have been hurting for weeks but i put that down to the oestrogen for the first half of cycle, i seem to find excuses for all the symptoms as i don't want the disappointment.

If i OV on Monday when i thought then i'd be 7DPO and due on next monday but if i was later then it could be only 3-4 DPO. So not sure a test would work yet.

Plus i promised DH that he could be the one to read the test, i think he'd be hurt if i did one without him knowing.

I shall just have to play this horrid waiting game - hate it tho!

yellowflowers · 27/10/2008 09:25

of course - forgot about that . MN def a big plus. Invaluable.
x

C1NDY · 27/10/2008 09:13

What a wonderful idea...

My positives are quite a few you have mentioned already.. perhaps one of the good things is:-

  • being able to come on MN and getting to chat to people who are wanting the same things.
yellowflowers · 27/10/2008 09:02

Hi C1ndy,

Hoping this month is yours. I'm 30 so hopefully time on our side.

I have decided a whole host of reasons to be optimistic this month (cd2 today). They are:

  • blood test last month showed hormone levels good
-Day 21 test couple of months ago show I ovulate -get clear ewcm each month
  • dh understands now the need for much bd at right time
  • temps do what they should so must be working properly
  • if 6 months-year behind everyone I know at least they can lend me baby things
  • summer babies are nice

Anyone think of other reasons to be cheerful?

C1NDY · 27/10/2008 08:44

Heeby do you not want to take an early pg test? or do you want to wait

C1NDY · 27/10/2008 08:42

Yellowflowers statically it means that your time is coming!! How old are you .. .I am 39 and will be 40 next year. I already have a DD aged 2 and 2 months... we got pg the first time trying.. back from honeymoon so it was a fluke. I MC in Sept, and its a race against time as I would like to be pg before 40th birthday and also work know that I MC, so I feel all eyes are on me until I get pg again. We are going to stop trying in May... as if it doesn't happen then we will we happy with our little bunny rabbit!

C1NDY · 27/10/2008 08:38

Hi everyone. Sorry have not been on here for a while, having the work whip cracked at the moment!!

My AF should arrive on Wednesday, but am still praying hard that by some miracle we have hit the egg!!

I went out on Saturday... ShoPPing.. did I buy a new dress... or a new jumper or.. new winter boots.. no.. I spent my hard earned cash on a First Response temperature gaget!! I am ready for the new month.. roll on CD1.

goush I am so armed with so many techniques that its making all of this quite fun actually... now is that sad???

YellowFlowers, VilliageMum... I will be on CD1 I think on Wednesday... we have about a 10 day break before we try again. I am going for a jog/walk this evening to keep my energy levels up.

yellowflowers · 26/10/2008 22:21

Hi Heeby. I had mix of a day (cd1 today ) - lovely trip to museum with dh and walk kicking autumn leaves but spoke to pg friend on phone this morning (28 weeks) and spent hour in jealous tears afterwards to bemused dh and then spontaneously burst into tears this afternoon too. More than normal pmt. Feel weepy and emotional and periody.
