Hi guys, new thread for us to carry on!

good luck BSL i have a similar situation at work which is why i am applying for another, i am even prepared to risk missing out on mat pay for it. my job can be hard but the Drs who are struck off usually either have a serious criminal conviction (you wouldnt believe some of the sickos we have), serious sexual harrassment or are so bad at their job and have no insight into their failings, we do our best to rehabilitate the ones who want to be helped though. As i say i mainly see the negative in Drs in my job which is another reason why i want to leave!

Anyway enough about me! linwin i am to see you have cheered up today, keep up the positive mental attitude and you will be just fine!

bluestarlavender · 17/09/2008 07:46

Morning everyone,

Well, 5DPO and no symptoms whatsoever! TBH I don't really expect there to be. But this month, I'm actually enjoying looking for them. All this stuff with DH and sperm tests etc have really taken the pressure off. I don't expect to get PG, so if it happened it would just be a nice surprise!

Linwin - so glad you are feeling brighter and lighter!

Summerbird - oooh striking GPs off...that must be hard. Despite what I think of some GPs, I don't envy what you do. I know it's for the good of patients everywhere, but it must also be hard to take someone's livelihood away.

Wildfig and Summerbird - any new symptoms for you guys??

Flirty - how did the appointment go?? Hope you're still enjoying the bouts of MS.

Dawn - Any news on the house?

I was listening to 5Live on the drive in this morning (in the office again today) and it's so doom and gloom! DH and I decided we should try to be better with our money a couple of weeks ago and this morning we passed a Lidl on the way in and we're going to try shopping there for a change this week. I've also been very good and done searches for all our insurance policies and utilities to make sure we have the cheapest options around. Any money saving tips gratefully received over here!!

Anyhow, I hope everyone has a good day today! I am having a big chat with my boss as I'm not very happy at the moment - unpleasant politics and internal fighting. I have a few plans for where I'd like to move my career, so wish me luck!

Hello everyone,

Happy to report I am very much cheered up today - everything is still a mess but I've had so much support from friends and family and you guys have been so amazing thanks a lot!
Also the stress means I've had zero appetite so I've even lost a couple of pounds

summerbird really good news about your granddad

Flirty glad to hear the sickness has returned and fingers crossed for you everything will be ok.

My sis (the one who didn't know she was PG until 7 months ) is due to give birth this week - so excited for her and can't wait to see my new little godson or goddaughter

MAF hope all is well and bluestar pooper about how long you guys have to wait for results from the doctor - any more symptoms to spot?

Big hugs to all

xxxxxx

summerbird · 16/09/2008 20:53

I dont mind announcing on this thread that my job involves striking doctors off so i am sceptical about every single Dr i see and make sure i look up their registration every time! on the plus side it makes me really appreciate good Drs as i just see the negative ones in my job!

I am feeling OK about Thursday, she did a lapo because i passed out at work in March with period pains (not being dramatic but i wouldnt be surprised if it was an early MC as we had just started TTC) and have had problems for years, when i told her we were TTC she arranged a full on root around! they found a cyst and two polyps which they removed but also tried to look at both my tubes but only succeeded with the right one as the left one was either playng silly buggers or was actually blocked. she did say i should be ok conceiving as i always ovulate.

dont worry about being clueless, i had to google it before the op as i didnt have a clue either!

I have a non TTC related 'hurrah' moment, i have just found out that my beloved Granddad does NOT have bowel cancer! He had to have all kinds of operations and tests last week, it just turns out he has IBS - thank F for that!!! I love him so much and would be devastated if it was the C word, but - hoorah!

bluestarlavender · 16/09/2008 20:21

Summerbird - LOL! I like the concept of the chocolate fireguard. DH's sister works for the NHS and is scary defensive if I say anything negative about GPs etc. She bit my head off the other day! I think I have a problem from when I was about 20 and nearly died from a ruptured appendix. Two night doctors came out over a few days and told me I had food poisoning. I just don't trust doctors very much nowadays.

Anyhow, I really hope things go well for you on Thursday!! How do you feel about everything? Did you just have a lap to one tube? I have to admit to being a bit clueless about this stuff...

OP posts:
summerbird · 16/09/2008 19:27

dont worry BSL in my and my DH's current roles we would both agree with you that Drs are as much use as a chocolate fireguard,
i was just jumping on this thread to ask you how you were getting on! but at least you will know soon.

My hospital appointment has been brought forward to Thursday, it is to discuss follow up from my laparoscopy and for the consultant to decide whether to give me an xray to see if my left tube is blocked.

crunchynutter · 16/09/2008 19:12

LOL I thought as much!

bluestarlavender · 16/09/2008 18:45

Crunchy - I'm sorry to say I wouldn't take the dream as a sign...I dreamt I took a HPT last cycle (during my weird dream phase) and it was positive, then in my dream I dreamt I realised it was a dream so woke up and took another and it was also positive...then I really woke up and none of it was real. Obviously took a HPT straight away and BFN.

Anyhow, off to do some dinner for me and DH!

hi all just checkin in. I'm so sorry a lot of you are and feeling down. BSL I don't trust doctors much at all (I still haven't been to see mine!) but like I said, I may go I. Armed with my MN knowledge in 6months (well that would make it three now-god!I can't believe I stopped taking it June [shocked] ) my experience is that they often don't know what they are on about. I do appreciate it's a difficult job and they can't just 'guess' by then surely the admin sides should speed up with relation to test results etc! Mine were lost once but I was informed everythigg was ok. About a year later I received a call from a new doctor who had found them and was really concerned. Resultin in me spending months and months on horrible pills

Ok- rant over! LOL

I am really busy at work at the moment and a bit fed up as I still haven't caugh up on all of my washing/drying! I known it sounds mad but I just can't relax in chaos and as a result I have not been sleeping well. I had a crazy dream last night that I had used my free test and was pg-is that a sign?? LOL I was really confused when I woke up as to whether I had actually done it or not!

bluestarlavender · 16/09/2008 14:27

Anyhow, rant over...so I can go back to nice calm Bluestar now.

Flirty - definite congratulations on the lunch upchuck! I'm happy it made you happy!!

Jeepney - I was wondering where you'd got to!! How's things? and how was the holiday??

MAF - how's you?? Did AF properly arrive??

Big waves to everyone!!

Just to let you know, DH took his sample in this morning and we've found out he's not going to get the results back for a few weeks not days!! So that's the current cause for my NHS rant!

Anyhow, 4DPO and I'm really glad I have some friends to hold hands with!! It's my birthday on 25th and my test day (according to FF) is 26th...no idea how I'm going to hold out til the day after my birthday!! It wuld be the best birthday present ever to get a BFP! Not holding my breath though...

OP posts:
bluestarlavender · 16/09/2008 14:20

Wishin - I am so going to go into rant mode now!! My poor DH has already had it!! I am just so frustrated at the NHS (sorry Summerbird - I think your DH works for them!)

When DH went to see the GP to ask about undescended testes...she turned around to her computer and was effectively online looking up the same websites as we had already done!! They don't seem to know anymore than a lay person half the time. I was in A&E earlier this year with an acute kidney infection and I had diagnosed myself before anyone else had. I was actually sent away on the Monday after being told I didn't have one, then Monday afternoon was told I did. Tuesday morning I was admitted to hospital and they finally came and told me I did have one at 8pm that night!

I know I work in the pharmaceutical industry, so do have access to more info than some, but I've learned more about TTC from being on MN, than I ever would have from my GP. So to conclude my rant...Wishin - you're probably best off printing out the info on Clomid and giving to your GP! Grrrrr!

Just coming in quickly to say:

Saz Congratulations i'm so pleased for you!!

BSL I hope your results come back ok, I read on your other thread that it is going to take weeks. I have my fingers crossed that both your 2WW and your sperm wait go ok!!

Flirty Good luck at the booking in appointment, maybe at the minute it is too early to be having symptoms? Hope it goes well!

Dawn The house looks lovely I hope yuour offer gets accepted!!

MAF Sorry you got a BFN especially after a LFN.

Wildfig I hope your symptoms result in a BFP!!

ALso to everyone who is haveing trouble with the "credit crunch" I hope things look up for you soon!

Good luck to everyone this month, I hope for some more BFP's!!

wishinanhopin · 16/09/2008 13:18

Hey Ladies.
Thanks for all the kind words. I feel much better today. I picked myself up off the ground LOL. I live in Canada, in a really small town in the Maritimes. So needless to say resources are limited. My Dr. is so dense. I almost want to print out a bunch of info on clomid and drop it off to her and tell her to read up on it and get a clue.
I now know that this is in my hands, and I can choose to get discouraged, or choose to be proactive, and get myself to the next town and get this journey started. I called my Dr, and left a message that I wanted to go ahead with the referral.
Babydust to all you lovely ladies....anyone have any GOOD news today???
xoxoxox

summerbird · 16/09/2008 12:46

good luck flirty all very exciting times!!

oh and CONGRATULATIONS on yacking up your lunch!

FlirtyThirty · 16/09/2008 12:42

Thanks Dawn and Bluestar - amusingly, I have just been immensely cheered up by vomiting up my lunch! (TMI! - Sorry!) . I didn't realise implantation was still going on so that's good news - could account for the sort of brown stringy discharge.

I'll be leaving home in and hour or so for appointment...I'm excited and nervous. I have a sort of phobia about giving blood - no idea why! I am not scared of hospitals or needles and have no issue at all with injections, but for some reason giving blood turns my stomach. Still - all in a good cause. Just hope the midwife is sympathetic... Don't really have any questions to ask them...will havea good think on way there...

bluestarlavender · 16/09/2008 12:35

Flirty - I'm sure all is fine!! Fingers crossed for the booking in appointment.I would voice your concerns there! Hopefully you can get some re-assurance!

OP posts:
DawnAS · 16/09/2008 12:12

Hey Flirty,

Just to give you some supportive info, when I spoke to the doctor at the EPU, she said to me that Implantation can actually take a long time and as the baby buries deeper into the womb over the first 12 weeks, you can still get some sort of bleeding. It is very common so please don't worry.

There are so many changes and with the uterus stretching and changing aswell, it's likely to cause some spotting. The cramping is also very common. Apparently the uterus goes from the size of a fist to the size of a grapefruit and that's just by week 6, so that's a lot of growth, you're bound to feel something.

You'll remind me of all this of course when it gets to my turn again!!

xx

PS: Linwin, thinking of you today hun....

FlirtyThirty · 16/09/2008 09:10

Ladies...I'm so sorry so many of us are feling sad... Big hugs all round.

I've got more brown stringy discharge today and can't decide if I'm now imagining cramps too! My mind is playing cruel tricks on me!!! I have my booking in appointment this afternoon and am so worried that something will go wrong before I even get there...
I'm 8+4 and the all day feeling of nausea has tailed off a little, which is also worrying me. My DH thinks I'm mad to be upset at not vomiting every morning, and I can see his point...but I'm concerned.
I still haven't had red blood which gives me hope, but it seems like such a long time to wait another 4 weeks til the scan...

wildfig vix and BSL we all seem to be on the same cycle, i am CD18 and 3DPO, no symptoms as yet, my coffee is really tasty! I eventually finished my application last night and am sending it today - hoorah!

wishin that is a rubbish way for a GP to speak to you, (summerbird on work mode alert!) but if you are unhappy you could raise your concerns with the Practise Manager or PCT, its not GMC territory but the PCT should at least be able to instigate some resolution.

linwin i thought of you this morn when reading the newspaper articles, i hope you are feeling a little more positive today.

dawn and saz i am keeping my fingers crossed for you this week.

virtual hugs for all our girls going through this shit at the moment. xxxxxx

bluestarlavender · 16/09/2008 07:42

Morning everyone,

Wildfig - symptom spotting is so hard!! I'm on 4DPO now so only a couple behind you. Are you taking Sanatogen tablets?? I found that when I took them, they gave me that sucking-on-tin-foil taste and made me salivate loads!! The Pregnacare ones don't do that.

Dawn - fingers crossed for the house!! Sounds really promising.

Wishin - how awful for you! No disrespect to the fertility specialists in your area, but surely their priority should be helping people with fertility problems (Hence their job title), not focusing on antenatal care...that what antenatal units in the hospital are for and MWs! Grrrr!! I would do a bit of research for yourself and find out what your options are. It doesn't sound like your GP is very helpful or clued up on this.

Anyhow, came on this morning and saw the sad note from Wishin and it made me think that I'm so glad we are all here for each other. There are so many of us having problems at the moment...TTC or otherwise. It's so lovely to have a support network in our little thread! I love you guys !!

Ok enough of the soppiness . DH is off this morning to do his sperm sample. He has 1 hour to get it to them at the hospital, which is about 30 mins away. There are no facilities at the hospital to do the sample there...I guess that makes it easier to do, although I am going to be panicking about the traffic on the way!! I am hoping that we get the results back this week, but it'll probably be next knowing our luck!

Anyhow, I hope everyone has a good day!

Feeling quite down after my shitty ass Dr. appt today. So I went for a follow up. This is my first time on Clomid, and AF isn't even due till this weekend. So I have no idea if I'm preggers, ovulating, having a litter of kittens nothing LOL. And she starts saying. Wellllll if you don't get your period and you aren't preggers were gonna have to start thinking fertility specialist. Which would be fine cause I'd rather see someone who has a sweet clue what they're doing. But then she informed me they are scare my small city, only 3 practicing right now and the wait list is well over a year because "and I quote....infertility is not exactly their top priority, they focus on the women that are actually pregnant" I was gutted. And this coming from a woman. So she basically said my other option is go to a city about 1 1/2 hours away to see a specialist there. So I just really hope my period comes. But I don't even have a plan for another round, she only gave me one month of clomid. Yikes........sothats my day in a nutshell. This is going to be a jouney I think.
Hope you ladies had a better day then me
Babydust to all.

makingafamily · 15/09/2008 22:17

Hugs Linwin So sorry for what your going through

Fingers crossed for some BFP for you ladies

wildfig · 15/09/2008 20:59

Yes! Let's distract ourselves with some Mystic Meg symptom spotting!

I am CD20, DPO5 and so far my "symptoms" are

  • funny taste in mouth (prob. folic acid, as per last cycle)
  • sore boobs (prob. caused by endless prodding)
  • runny nose/sneezing (prob. caused by, er, London germ cocktail?)
  • internal twinges
  • coffee tasting funny (quite serious, as coffee is my friend and comforter, even the wimpy decaff version I've been forced to embrace these days)
  • crying over dog rescue website (normal, to be honest)
  • deciding this is a Very Bad Time to get pregnant, thanks to work deadlines, arrival of new dog, row with landlord, etc (most certain to result in a BFP)

summerbird and vix aren't we on similar cycles? Any twinges?
