heverhoney don't worry-if I am lucky enough to be ovulating my Dh has been away and his little swimmers have been sozzled anyway so no baby for me either this month I don't think! Just think, the longer we are waiting the more money we will have saved for beautiful baby furniture xx

heverhoney1 · 08/08/2008 12:18

never had a bfp so dont know what to advise but I am keeping everything crossed for you. We want to be the first to know - well the second I suppose you might have to let DH in on the info first lol

crunchynutter · 08/08/2008 12:18

MAF you are a lucky lady! I have a bit of a clean obsession and my husband seems to have a cleaning phobia makes for never ending housework for me LOL.

I am trying to take dawns approach at least until periods return-I think I obsess enough without worrying about temping etc at the moment but when I know my body is working I might give it all a go. Those things do seem expensive though! Be nice to know if they work first-you ladies can do the reviews xx

saz007 · 08/08/2008 12:16

I'm going to Boots tonight to buy a PG test. Would you recommend getting a dig one or just a normal one?

heverhoney1 · 08/08/2008 12:07

DP is still sore from his injury so no fertile time BDing for me v depressed. Like everyone I suppose I so so wanted it to happen quickly

makingafamily · 08/08/2008 12:01

BSL - Haven't used the fertility monitor yet as due to start this month but will keep you posted. If cost me about £50 for the monitor and £20 for the sticks but i also think ClearBlue were offering them to people to trial, i'll have a look see if i can find a link.

I'm crap with the temp thing too so like the idea of the monitor as it predicts upto an extra 5 days a month when we can do inseminations

bluestarlavender · 08/08/2008 11:56

MAF - would you recommend the Clearblue fertility monitor?? It's pretty expensive, isn't it? It's just I am really not getting on with the OPK sticks from ebay...I have no idea whether I really got positives, or if the faint lines (very faint) were negatives. I actually don't really trust the temping either. I'm convinced if I've hurl the bedcovers off in the night I'll get a low temp and if I don't, it'll be high!

Last month,we just went for lots of BDing (apart from the days we were sick), but I was spot on about OV day (the day after we were sick - no surprise no PG!). This month I am in a complete muddle with all the temping and CM analysis and OPK sticks. DH and I are just going to BD again tonight and then move to every other day til AF probably. Reason being, I have no idea if or when I OV'ed.

I am seriously wondering whether to take a leaf out of Dawn's book and forget all this stuff and just have some fun!

crunchy i'm very lucky that my misses has a washing obsession and wont let me near a washing machine and daddy to be no.2 has an ironing obsession so that will be his department

crunchynutter · 08/08/2008 11:43

hell just fit in a BD whenever possible! Can't hurt!

Do any of you ladies have never ending piles of ironing? God help me when I hvr baby clothes to do to!! LOL

I have my baby shower for SIL tomorrow though so am quite edited! I just want it to go really well and to get some note photos! She's bringing my little nephew to so I will probably be very very broody Sunday maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all...

makingafamily · 08/08/2008 11:20

Morning Ladies! THere you all are

Honey i use OPK's. At the moment i've got the internet cheapies and they seem to work for me. A few people i know from another site swear by the Smiley Face digital Clear Blue ones and i also know that they have had different readings from different OPK's, so sorry not much help. As soon as next AF arrives i'm going to start using my Clear Blue fertility monitor as apparently thats really reliable My advice would be any lines on any OPK's get BD'ing

summerbird · 08/08/2008 10:53

saz PMSL about the pop wagon, i have just run your idea about the mixers by my colleague and we both agree our mothers prob did the same thing!!

i remember i used to go swimming on 50p
5p bus fare each way
25p to get into the baths
15p for my hot chocolate afterwards

aaaaaaaaaahhhhh how sweet!

crunchy you have a good rant love, but make him pay for it when he gets back!!

heverhoney1 · 08/08/2008 10:41

thanks anyway guys I have opened a new thread seeking an answer - someone on here has to know. Ping on sticks is a national pass time on this forum lol

saz007 · 08/08/2008 10:40

Crunchy rant away hun!

crunchynutter · 08/08/2008 10:39

sorry-I don't know about the Opk sticks either sorry I ca t help!

bluestarlavender · 08/08/2008 10:36

Heverhoney - I think you can have a few days of positives!! Thanks for saying about the Boots ones...I am completely confused by the cheapie ebay ones...the lines I got were so faint I thought they were negatives...still could be for all I know! If AF comes this month, then I'll give the Boots ones a go next month.

I lost you all!! I had a watch on the other thread And it looked a little quiet LOL found you now

I remember funhouse and pat sharpe! Don't really remember the others-I'm glad B is with ms on that!

So I had a phone call at 4.15 this morning-my lovely DH ridiculously drunk and throwing up he is working away on Ireland and bumped into An old friend frOm the army! I have tried to stay calm as he is usually so sensible And they haven't seen each other for years but we haven't BD'd all week cos he's been and his little swimmers will probably be too hungover too move later tonight

I'm so glad I have you girls to vent to! I'm being very calm to him instead of having a good shout! Xx

saz007 · 08/08/2008 10:32

Sorry heverhoney I've never used opk - altho I am intrigued by it (it must be the scientist in me coming out!!)

My DH used to love fun house...not for Mr Pat Sharpe I hope you understand...but the cheerleading twins!

Bonifacio · 08/08/2008 10:28

Thanks heverhoney

Anyway, shouldn't you lot have been out playing and not cooped up inside watching TV like the generation of today!! Even I played out more than I wathed tv!!!

saz007 · 08/08/2008 10:27

We used to have a "pop wagon" that used to come round our area weekly when I was younger, you got 10p back for each bottle you returned - early recycling - they should bring that back!
Thinking back, my parents probably only thought it was a good idea as they'd never run out of mixers!! My mates and I thought it was great as pop was brought to your door and the boys on the wagon were lovely

heverhoney1 · 08/08/2008 10:27

on a more serious note does anyone want to give me any ideas on what I should be thinking with opk results - Cheepie internet ones = nothing but the fainteds of faint lines

Boots own brand = big fat dark line!!

Had this both today and yesterday but haveint used boots ones before so is 2 days normal??? dodgy batch???

heverhoney1 · 08/08/2008 10:23

I believe you will find that the crazy floppy haired man was a Mr Pat Sharpe!!!

Bonifacio · 08/08/2008 10:22

Bloody hell! Glass bottles but what about the health and safety of us poor children drinking out of them!!!

And for 5p!! I wouldnt have got out of bed for less than 20p!!

Bonifacio · 08/08/2008 10:20

Ahhh yes so it was!! never knew the short numbers!! Does anyone remember funhouse!

"Funhouse, whole lotta fun, prizes to be won, its a really real crazy show, where anything can go!!"

It had some floppy haired man as the presenter!!

DawnAS · 08/08/2008 10:20

Ahhh yes, phone numbers.... I remember the days when my home phone number was just "2812". Nowadays you need to write them down to remember them!

Who remembers saving your glass "Corona" fizzy drinks bottles to take back to the local shop so that you can get 5p?! If they did that now, recycling would be much more efficient!!

xxx

PS: Mmmmm crisps full of additives tasted much nicer than they do today - BRING BACK ADDITIVES!!

summerbird · 08/08/2008 10:19
