oops sorry heverhoney out of all the teams i happen to diss yours!

one of my FIL's (i have two MILs and FILs due to the usual reason!) is a spurs fan too so maybe my DC will have that to contend with too - we are such a cosmopolitan family!

oo and MAF i got you right - but your DP would look v pretty in a prom dress as well as you! so are you both on your hens this weekend - i think it was BSL who had the hag night - i like it!!

heverhoney1 · 09/08/2008 11:20

Old trafford is my spiritual home (Yes I know I am a londoner but have been supporting them since the mid 80's so its a bit late to change now!) DP is a Spurs fan so we are off to WHL for the friendly against ROMA tomorrow.

Have a sneaky feeling any DC will be heavily influenced by their dad (But will try to sneak my own bit of influence in there)

summerbird · 09/08/2008 11:12

ps - and i have never smoked (summerbird skulks off now!!!!)

summerbird · 09/08/2008 11:11

I have just reread my post and it looks like i am a smokin' drinkin' lush!! - i will of course be sacking the alcohol unless i fancy the occasional guinness

summerbird · 09/08/2008 11:09

bonifacio i think your friend needs to work out what she wants to do, if you think about it we were all conceived between early 70s and mid 80s and my mum has said to me that she wasnt given any guidance. Certainly when she was PG with me in '72 she smoked and drank alcohol and joking aside i turned out absolutely fine!

These days we get a lot of scare stories and you will notice that the guidance changes all the time - sometimes they say you can drink a little bit of alcohol then they say nothing at all. In fact they have always said the best thing you can have is a half pint of guinness per day!!

When i am PG i am going to see how i feel, i love brie, smoked salmon and runny eggs so i am going to be buggered!! I think i am actually going to consult my mum about it - she works in the health sector now so is pretty clued up as is my MIL who is a nurse.

What is your team then heverhoney ? I am a Newcastle United bunny and my DH is an Aston Villa fan - oh and we live about 8 miles from Old Trafford so we are going to seriously have to rein that one in - we have joked that our children are going to have to make that 'quasi-religious' decision when it comes to footie - although DH is adamant that Villa will emerge victorious!!!!

crunchynutter · 09/08/2008 11:05

hi B I have talked about this stuff too. My DH would not like anynone living with us, he is quite a private person and likes his space! I think our best option is for me to have the full nine months off work and then I am hoping to go back part time and do 3days a week until he little ones are older. My mom has recently taken an early retirement from nursing so I would like her to have then 2/3 days a week but I would like them in a nursery at least one day (or half a day!)as I think it helps with their development and to build immunity. My mom doesn't know we are officially trying but o think she has an idea as I have discussed this win her (I would also want to pay her a little so she doesn't feel taken advantage of!)
Second question, I want to ask for an elective Caesarian (at the moment that's my plan!). I have read that in can be safer for the baby and I am a little scared as women In my family have diffcult births, my mom and my sister nearly dies and it really puts me off! (I think that's the only reason I stalled my husband for a year before agreeing to TTC!)

hope you are ok you lil party animal xx

heverhoney1 · 09/08/2008 10:53

Hi ya bon.

I am tempted to go on a bit of a bender myself tomorrow as I am off to watch the football.

A nanny is a no no - currently we are living in a 1 bedroom flat (but are looking to move obv) and as I am going to have to go back to work after mat leave I will just want to spend as much time with the bub as I poss can.

As for c-section TBH I am not sure. Both my sister and I were C-Section babies and when I was little I just assumed that was how babies arrived!!! I had seen my mums scars, which were a cross as I was a planned section and my sis was an emergency, and even when I played doctors with my freinds our "babies" would always be cut out! Nothing else made sense!! Right at this moment I dont think I would elect but I wouldnt feel bad if I had to have a section as me and the sis turned out ok!!

Food- I have already given up liver, brie, peanuts and am cooking steak through (even though I love it medium rare)Just in case! - Anything else I should add to my list?? Also is darylea ok to eat I just assume its pasturised (I looked on the label but it doesnt say )

Bonifacio · 09/08/2008 10:00

Hello everyone. I am very hungover! Didn't get in till 5am this morning after way too many vodka and lemonades. I figure seeing as I am definately not pg this month I may as well enjoy myself!! Though i'm not enjoying feeling this poorly. And now i'm just about to get ready to go out for dinner tonight ti my fave Thai restaurant yey

So question, was talking last night to my pg friend and she was telling me about a lovely kidney pie she ate the other day so I say goodness you can't eat that while your pg its too high in vitamin A, and she says oh i've been eating all sorts that your not supposed to? Is that bad or is it just me?? I know the guidelines change over the years etc but my thought is you should just follow it as they're there for a reason and they're not going to be making this shit up??

Also when you all have your babies, will you be having a nanny or a ya ya as they're called here. I mean like a full time live in person?? And would you have an elective caesarian so you don't have to go through labour?? Just curious of your opinions!!Good luck BD'ing and testing everyone!! x

eth37 · 08/08/2008 22:55

fairywing · 08/08/2008 20:34

Hi all, I joined right at the beginning of this thread but dissapeared for a while as i was waiting for my cycle to return so felt like a bit of a fraud being here. However, i'm very excited today as i my period arrived - a sentance i never thought i would say!!!! So i guess today is now CD1 and we are officially properly going to TTC this month. Woohoo!!!
