hi All!

Dawn I hope your back eases, have you been to the doctors? I am awful without sleep-it actually makes me I'll! I get migraines and a sorts!

B I know how you feel-I have put lots of weight on lately and most of the time I am quite accepting of it but every now and again I feel really inattractive and sad

Today is one of those days- I have a grotesque coldsore on my nose it is really odd. Nowhere near my mouth just spreading accross the side of my face

summerbird · 12/08/2008 12:08

Hi everyone - having a manic busy morning today as am clearing my work for my hols, but just wanted to bob in and say hello.

saz still no AF then? i am sooo trying not to get excited for you! (as i have been 3 days late before and we had the next 5 years mapped out by the time the evil witch came along..) hang on in there and test on Thursday - i will still be on line on Thurs even though i am off (well we need to get together at 2.30 for MAFs wedding!

dawn hope your back gets better soon - DH gets a bad back and he can be out for ages.

bonifacio you sound like you have a touch of PMT, i agree that you should hit the gym as the endorphins will get you back on track, hope you too feel better soon

Morning all,

B you sound really down. I really hope you feel better soon

MAF for Thursday v v excited for you!!

Dawn sorry to hear your back's no better. I don't know how you're functioning either, I'd be in bits if I hadn't slept for that long (I'm still like a child if I don't get my sleep - I turn really wingy and then get sick!)

No test results yet BSL (don't tempt me!!) and the only other symptom I forgot last night was my lower back's been achy for about 5 days now. Still no AF tho, which I'm taking as good. DH wants me to test again in the morning, but I wasnt sure about waiting til Thursday

Hope you are all having good days. I will be now as I had a training workshop and a 2 hour meeting scheduled for this afternoon but they've both been cancelled - hurray!!!

DawnAS · 12/08/2008 11:24

Morning all,

B, you sound really down. As BSL said, your weight won't be noticed by anyone else as much as you're noticing it yourself. Not that that helps as it's you that's upset about it! I have to admit that my weight fluctuates a lot and if I feel that I've put some on, I do Weight Watchers for a couple of weeks and it goes again. Although strangely before the MC I was eating loads and only appeared to be putting weight on my tummy. Strange because I'm classic pear shape and that's where all the weight normally goes. Even since the MC, I'm eating more than usual and still not putting it on my bum and hips. Still my tummy. Oh well! Do you suffer with PMT then? It definitely sounds like that might be what you've got. Hopefully you'll feel better in a few days.... Sending lots of hugs and kisses to you.

It all sounds like you lead such exotic lives!! I did before I met DH! I used to have a couple of holidays a year. But our honeymoon to Mexico this year was the first time that we've been abroad together at all! (Other than Jersey for a few days last year....). If we get PG then I can't see us going anywhere else for a few more years. It's the buying the house that's stopping us doing all those things!!

So, my trapped nerve is now affecting my chest aswell as my back and seems to be getting a lot worse. So that's four nights in a row with hardly any sleep now, I don't know how I'm still functioning!!

It's not at all pleasant and waking up and continually looking at the clock just makes it worse. I'm so knackered!!

So, I have no idea where I am in my cycle now as we've started BDing just after the MC, so I guess I can start getting excited in 3 months if I still haven't had an AF!! . I guess the benefit of doing it this way, is that if I do start to get some light bleeding or spotting, I'll just assume that it's AF and won't be so paranoid and freaked out about it as I was when I already knew I was PG.

I'm actually having a bit of a fight with myself at the moment. Because we managed to conceive first month (very rare I know and it was definitely more luck than judgement!), I will be disappointed now if I get AF. BUT to the same extent, because of the problems with the PG before the miscarriage (all the spotting and stuff), I'm almost scared to get a BFP again because I'll be so terrified and paranoid that the same thing will happen again. So really, I can't win!!

Anyway enough of being miserable!!

How is everyone this fine day?!!

Babydust for everyone...

makingafamily · 12/08/2008 11:06

Hey everyone

Dawn, hope your backs feeling better and not interfering with the BD'ing. 10mg of valium may help lol

Getting their for Thursday BSL, i can't wait

Oh, lovely baby names ladies. We like Lily May for a girl and Joshua James for a boy

bluestarlavender · 12/08/2008 10:24

Morning everyone!!

B - Singapore is also 7 hours ahead at the moment and 8 hours in the winter. As for feeling yuck, I would hit the gym! I usually gain about 4lbs in the run up to AF and always feel much bigger in my head than I really am!!

Saz - how's things this morning with you? Any more symptoms/test results? [hopeful emotion] I totally know what you mean about HAVING to have your straighteners with you on hol!! The US doesn't have GHDs oddly. But thankfully the newer GHDs work in the US.

MAF - All ready for Thursday?? you must be so excited now!!

Waves to everyone else! Dawn - how's the back??

Hmm BSL I think you'll be 6 hours ahead and i'm 7.

Well i'm having a shitty week I have put loads of weight on which is getting me down, I even did a pg test because I thought there's no way I can be getting fat without a good reason. Obv it was BFN! AF is due tomorrow so I am a little bloated but its never usually this bad. I've actually put 4lb on in a week. I haven't been going to the gym or swimming, I am crap. ANd my mum arrives today so no doubt she will comment on the excess weight, and i'm going on hoiliday in 2 weeks I need to be skinny again. Hopefully my mum will want to go to the gym too!I think I just eat too much, i'm always hungry. Maybe its from quitting smoking. I've never been this heavy in my life I'm feeling so unnatractive and PMT isn't helping. I need to get it sorted!

saz007 · 11/08/2008 20:30

Thanks girls xx

I think the names that you're all chosen are lovely. We have a shortlist but havent decided yet, Sophie or Caitlin (I'm liking Grace or Olivia as a possible middle name) for a girl and James or Matthew for a boy. I also have future pets names picked out too

I have to take my ghds with me on holidays too. I didnt take them to the States this year (I didnt realise until I was on the plane!) I had to buy some when I got there, they were ok...better than the holiday frizz I'd get if I didnt buy them!!

bluestarlavender · 11/08/2008 20:27

Crunchy - I don't think you'll be close enough to visit the pubs. But the cabin with the hot tub sounds fab - very romantic and relaxing!!! I bet you have a wonderful time!!

We're off on our hols that day too - visiting family in Singapore, so I'll be in the same time zone as B I think...

hi all! eth and BSL it's nice to see you back! I Am going to look into holidays to jersey now-sounds fab! We are going to Wales on the 22nd (hoping my mobile picks up 3g so I can still chat LOL) we are in a log cabin with a hot tub near the breacon beakons-is that anywhere near these lovely pubs?!?!

saz day after AF was due is very early so don't give up hope! Fingers crossed for you. Xx

summerbird · 11/08/2008 19:33

dawn my colleagues daughter is called Emily Rose and someone mentioned the exorcist too, but it is a truly beautiful name. i love your names - ours are currently William Edward (a bit regal but WM is my dad and DH's stepdads middle names and Ed is DH's middle name)

I want Mary Jane for a girl but DH wont let me as it is another name for cannabis!!! We are currently pondering over Ella May for a girl (after the wonderful Ms Fitzgerald of course!!)

gotta go - DH is nagging for his dinner and it is my turn to cook........

summerbird · 11/08/2008 19:26

dont worry bubbap we have names picked out too!! that may change at the time but we have got some already..

BSL i will take the gas straighteners for backup - although they are not a patch on GHD - oh god i am panicking now - i only have chin length hair (pretty much same length as my wedding pics) and it goes absolutely mental when drying naturally - i will take kirby grips to be sure!!

hey saz are you still without the evil witch? i am rooting for you girl.

i bumped into another of my colleagues who is pregnant today, she is due in November and looking fab - i asked her to send me some baby dust and she gave me an extra special little bit more - so i shall share it with you all

DawnAS · 11/08/2008 19:22

Hey Bubbap,

We had the name conversation about 3 weeks ago on this thread, so you're not premature at all.

Unfortunately I think I upset Bonafacio because she had chosen a beautiful girls name, Emily-Rose. But unfortunately I reminded her of the re-make in 2005 of the Exorcist which was called "The Exorcism of Emily Rose". . It's such a beautiful name though that I hope she still goes for it!!

We've chosen Marissa Ellen Rose for a girl and Ryan Anthony Jonathan for a boy. Normally we'd only go for 2 names but we wanted one middle name from each family and a new name as the first name. It doesn't seem to matter these days and my DH has two middle names from his Dad and Grandad.

Sorry - I'm waffling now!!

bubbap · 11/08/2008 18:15

Hi ladies

Seems I've got lots to catch up with since yesterday!!

saz ... sorry you had a BFN but as the other girls have said, it may be too soon yet.

Had a chat with my DH about names yesterday -a bit premature I know ...
but then I couldn't sleep last night thinking about it all... wondering if I could even be PG already! it's the dreaded 2WW for me now!

bluestarlavender · 11/08/2008 17:10

Summerbird - they have built new shower blocks since I stayed there. But I did go in and check them out...I'm sorry to say I couldn't find any power sockets...but I could have missed them. Sorry, hun! Kennexstone and 3 cliffs have them, but I guess that's no help!

The showers are nice though, and they have surfers ones (for when you're in your wetsuit and sandy) and proper ones too. Bearing in mind you just walk through the dunes to the camp site, it's pretty nice to come up the beach and jump straight into the showers!

Saz - I think your symptoms sounds good too!

OP posts:
eth37 · 11/08/2008 16:58

Hang in there, saz - I reckon if you're starting to get symptoms the concentration of hormones should be definitely increasing! How many days since AF due now? It's so frustrating, isn't it. Symptoms sound v good though!!

LOL for sockets for hair straighteners - I am the same - def couldn't contemplate camping without nice showers and plugs!!

summerbird · 11/08/2008 16:48

hang on in there saz we arent putting up with you we are sticking with you girl!!

BSL important question - does Hillend have electricity sockets for GHDs - i cant stress enough just know how important that is to me!!!

bluestarlavender · 11/08/2008 16:28

Saz - I second what Dawn says! It can take some people a long time to get their BFP, when they are PG! I reckon if you are PG, your hormone levels aren't high enough yet. The more you feel symptom-wise, the more likely you are to get a BFP result. By the way what test are you using...that's another area of debate - which ones are the most sensitive...

Anyhow, all I can say as comfort is no AF is a good sign!!

saz007 · 11/08/2008 16:24

Thanks ladies, I know I'm being totally ridiculous about this!

I don't get many symptoms before AF normally but over the past few days I've had weird fluttery/light crampy (rather than bad crampy) feelings, boobs are a wee bit sore, I'm weeing loads (I know I drink a lot but more than usual!)

But I'm more than aware that these could all be imaginary

I'm impatient and I guess this is me just wanting to know right now rather than having to wait a few more days

Thanks for putting up with me

DawnAS · 11/08/2008 16:14

Well Saz, I don't know how you drink that much, but I would avoid drinking anything, say after 10pm. Make sure you go for a good wee (sorry about TMI) before you go to bed and don't drink anything else before you test again in the morning.

Give yourself some time. I've read people on here that didn't get BFPs until they were about 7 weeks PG!! So don't give up yet!!

xx

bluestarlavender · 11/08/2008 16:04

Saz - Do you have many PG symptoms?? The PG test is measuring concentration of hormone in your urine. Some people get early BFPs because they have loads of hormone. Usually loads of hormones means lots of symptoms, like MS. You're right, if you are really well hydrated your urine will be more dilute in terms of hormones etc.

MAF - how was your weekend?? All excited for the coming week??

Eth - I really recommend surfing, it's a good laugh and Llangennith is lovely! We camp, but only at places that have showers and power sockets for hair straighteners!

makingafamily · 11/08/2008 15:43

Saz. Sorry about your BFN but No AF has gotta be a good thing. Just give it a few more days and then try again

Hi Eth. My monday is driving me mad, trying to work and my head is wedding mad. Yep getting very nervous lol

eth37 · 11/08/2008 15:18

Surfing sounds good - v jealous!!

saz not sure if that would make a difference - I think it's more the length of time you have held it in, so to speak? Are your cycles normally regular? Any more symptoms? You can get a batch of pg tests on a website (accessdiagnostics or something) for quite cheap.... But I know - you don't want to get obsessive (like I always do....). Maybe wait 'til Wednesday if stlll no sign?

maf my monday is pretty quiet. Just back from the gym and thinking I should do some cleaning! How about you? Getting nervous for Thurs?

makingafamily · 11/08/2008 15:15

Hello All.

How are your mondays going?

saz007 · 11/08/2008 15:12

Can I ask a question about testing please?

I know that you are supposed to use FMU to get a stronger concentration of hormones, but if you drink a lot of water during the day before, does anyone know if this can dilute the levels? I ask as I usually drink about 3l of water a day.....straws and clutching I know

I'm not going to test again for a few more days, I don't want to start down that slippery slope and it's still a week and a half to pay day!!

Suring sounds good BSL and Summerbird, never done it but I've body-boarded on holiday and that was fun! Not sure it would be the same in the UK tho - I know when I did my open water diving, it was horrible
