eth don't worry about ur mum, she won't mean to upset you. If she had a bad time through her pregnancy she is probably just worrying about u!!

crunchy how long hav u been waiting for your AF to arrive?? i am only on day 20 and my cycle is usually between 29 - 31 days so not gonna get my hopes up with my sore nipples ha ha!! Will wait to see if AF arrives first!! Fingers crossed she doesn't (hmm) What type of dog do you have?? Mine is my baby for the time being!! x

crunchynutter · 14/08/2008 19:11

my sister is also TTC LOL my poor mums guns be mad if we both get pregnant! It does surprise me how thoughtless some relatives can be though. I guess I've just grown to accept it! Xx

eth37 · 14/08/2008 18:49

Dawn I take it your sister is also ttc? You poor thing when your mum said that!!! Mums, eh?!?!

eth37 · 14/08/2008 18:48

Thanks girls, I love MN!! I know she wasn't trying to upset me, I think she just worries about me (!) and I have been a bit 'wittery' lately, for some reason. When I am teaching I manage to be perfectly calm, reasonable and rational at school - in fact all my teaching observations go on about how calm I am (I wish my mum could see them!) so I am capable of not being neurotic!! I think it's also that my mum would worry so much about me being pg (I am her only child and she had a horrid pregnancy, being in hospital for most of it and at one point was told to consider a termination for the sake of her health!) Thanks though girls, I really really appreciate it!!

crunchynutter · 14/08/2008 18:39

eth my mom does. Not know we are trying either but tells me at every opportunity that kids will ruin our life and we should have more sense and never have any

I had. Difficult time with my mother as a teen, she is not naturally maternal and I never felt very close to her. We are quite close now though and I can say I am like her in lots of ways however there are things about her that I know I am the complete opposite too And that is because I am consious of it. I do believe we inherit certain behavioural traits but I also think we learn from our parents and can become whaT we want.

Honestly, you are not your mother. Just think about how much you want a baby, you know what kind of mother you want to be and you can control that. Cheer up !

DawnAS · 14/08/2008 18:39

Oh Eth, you have to love your Mums but sometimes they can be a little insensitive - I know my Mum can be. When I was PG and worried about what was happening she said "I'm so worried about what your sister will do when she finds out you're PG, she'll be devestated". Not really want I wanted to hear when I was hanging onto the little bean for all I was worth.

I will absolutely be a nervous wreck next time I get PG and that's what these threads are for. To support each other. So don't you worry love, we'll all be neurotic about being PG together, it's natural!!

Keep your chin up hun....

xx

bluestarlavender · 14/08/2008 18:30

Eth don't be upset! It's completely normal to worry and fret when you're PG! I think it comes with the hormones!

I bet your mum will be worrying and fretting over the baby more than you! Although we have a tendency to follow our parents, I also think that we learned for them and often toned down the extreme behaviour we see in our parents!

My mum is very emotionally driven and I know growing up it frustrated me. I've worked hard to be more logical, although it doesn't always work! So Eth, I'm sure you're going to be just fine!!

Aaaaagh. Just spoken to my mum on the phone (she does not know really that we are ttc although has her suspicions) and she said that 'cos I have been having panic attacks lately and generally have a tendency to anxiety and being neurotic she said 'I hope you two aren't thinking of having a baby any time soon 'cos you need to get yourself sorted out first' She then went on at me and said I would be a nightmare worrying about every little twinge when I was pg and then even worse when the baby was born, would be racing to the Dr every 5 minutes worrying about it..... I wouldn't mind, but my mum is exactly the same as me and was completely neurotic the whole time I was growing up which is probably why I am like I am!!! I didn't say anything but feel really upset now. What would I say if we did conceive this month?? Surely it is normal to worry about certain things? I know I do suffer from anxiety but it is hardly fair to say everyone who gets anxious shouldn't have babies. Am I over-reacting?? Sorry, need to get that off my chest, I feel really upset by it.

summerbird · 14/08/2008 17:50

you never know dawn that position might be the one we will all be raving about for the next month! and anyway - this is a virtual world so you can boogie all you like, it wont hurt you a bit!!

DawnAS · 14/08/2008 17:12

Summerbird, I'm imagining you dancing and smiling through the pain of my back!! I would dance with you but it'll set me back a week again I think - so I'll have to do the virtual baby dance - like the one they used to have on Ally McBeal!!

So, I think I'm OVing at the moment. I've had the CM for the last couple of days and today, slight cramps. Last time I OVd the cramps were on my left side, this time they're on my right. Interesting!!

So I'm glad we BDd on Tuesday and we're going to BD again tonight (ouch, my poor back). It's making it rather military without me being able to move, but actually having my hips up seems to ease the pain in my back - strangely!! Don't think it'd do my lower back much good though to stay in that position all night!!

xx

summerbird · 14/08/2008 16:47

Dawn i do the thing with the pillow too, i then rush off to the loo after about 15-20 mins to clean up then am fine after that. I will just sleep with the pillow under me in the tent!

Woo hoo Mrs MAF i have to say i am a bit tiddly on all this champagne now, altogether now:

Riiiiiide on tiiiime (do do do do do do dum)
Riiiiiide on tiiiime (la la la la la la laa)

and then little bit of

Aaaahaaahaaahaaayeeeaaaah I love ya baby I love ya baby - aaaaaahaaahaahaaahyeeeeeaaah!

(summerbird throws herself around the dancefloor like a loon )

crunchynutter · 14/08/2008 16:00

I love weddings they always make me smile!

vix I have had sore nipples for a couple of weeks now, I had convinced myself to do a test as it is meant to be a sign if pg. Unfortunately mine seems to be hormone related as I am awaiting AF to return after six years on depo provera! I am a little fed up of them at the mo though! I wince whenever my poor dog tries to cuddle me and DH is shouted at several times a day cos he 'forgets' they hurt! Are very painful!

In your case I don't know what to say, it could be an early sign of pg but it could be hormonal too if the clommid is playing with your hormones a little. Perhaps wait a week and see if you have any other symptoms? A test won't hurt if you do as long as you don't get your hopes up too high when you test ( it reAlly is horrible when it says no )

DawnAS · 14/08/2008 15:24

Hey all,

Thought I'd just pop in and give you the benefit of my (limited) wizdom.

So, I don't remember exactly when I OVd but we started BDing every other day from CD10 for two weeks (I'm on a 35 day cycle and wasn't sure if I'd OV on day 14 or 21.... so we covered all bases).

Also, on the "cleaning yourself up thing...", I suffer with cystitis so need to go to the loo after BDing, so I just stayed laying down for 20-30 minutes afterwards and then went to the loo. It worked for me.

The one tip that I would advise, is the pillow under the hips. If you are someone that needs to get up and clean up, that will help things along. I have to say that in my past experience (before TTC), DH's "stuff", would tend to come out over the next day or so, but since using the cushion under the hips, nothing really comes out the next day, so it's definitely keeping more in there!!

Got to dash now so will come back to the rest of you later. Got a handover with my boss now as he's off on leave for 2 weeks.

Also, back is worse, can't actually lift my body/chest off of the bed at all and have to roll out of bed onto my knees to get up. Sounds funny but is agony . I don't know how I don't cry every night!!

xxx

PS: Mrs MAF will be having a nice glass of pink champas by now!!

heverhoney1 · 14/08/2008 14:37

the sun is scorching on my computer! cheers!

congratulations MAF all the very best to you and Mrs MAF! xx

saz007 · 14/08/2008 14:23

Eth I've also had this conversation with DH. I dont want him to feel like a machine (his words LOL) and that I only want to do it til I get PG and then he'll be abandoned for 9 months. He has been looking on the net for how safe sex is while pg...bless him!

Cheers girls If it were sunny we could have some Pimms...oh wait virtual wedding....virtual weather - yay!!!

summerbird · 14/08/2008 14:12

eth me and the DH had this very conversation, we agreed that we are doing it all for a good cause(!) but it is still to be fun and for love etc, although TBH i have to confess last night that i did BD simply for that reason (i was knackered and snotty with hayfever), i did feel a little bit guilty but still enjoyed it!

Cheers ladies (clinking glasses all round) - hic!

eth37 · 14/08/2008 14:05

there you go summerbird
Yeah we have been skiing twice to Chamonix and it's great, I love it - also love big long mountain walks in the SUN!! I think you're right - t-shirts and jumpers are the way forward. Just not what I was expecting!!

Oh no.... Am getting obsessed with cycle days and BD-ing and working out lifespan of baby sperm.... (eeew). Does anyone else almost feel naughty initiating BDing, like it's not just for fun anymore? Do you know what I mean? Like, obviously it's enjoyable, but there are certainly times when I have done it when otherwise I would have been 'too tired'!

summerbird · 14/08/2008 13:58

oo eth go skiing instead! chamonix is supposed to be great for the slopes, although also supposed to be beautiful in summer! i would just pack your summer things with a couple of jumpers and trousers.

right then eth and saz save me some of that champers i am on my way over!!

eth37 · 14/08/2008 13:50

Hee hee saz it's on its way over!!

Just checked weather again for Chamonix and it now says it is SNOWING!!! What the heck am I meant to pack?!?!?

saz007 · 14/08/2008 13:45

PMSL Crunchy!! Thanks for cheering me up with that story!

Just finished all my meetings for the day so I have a free (well relatively free as I'm still actually at work) afternoon. Crack open the champers Eth and pass glass my way!!!

heverhoney1 · 14/08/2008 13:14

Crunchy - Lol about the addict thing! My DP is exactly the same I tell him about everyhing that goes on on here (It makes me feel like I am not a big old freak for obsessing as I realise its just part and parcel of TTC) But I do have to check on here all times of the day and night. I hate the thought of missing anything - ESP someones BFP, which I am sure is going to happen very soon!!!

Bon - I can honestly say (Being more than mildly over the 8 stone mark!!) The beached Whale has nowt on me!!

heverhoney1 · 14/08/2008 13:04
