Hi guys, new thread for us to carry on!

Hello all! I am new on here today after searching the internet for early pregnancy symptoms! Hope I've picked up all the jargon correctly, if so I would be something like:

TTC #1
Cycle 3
CD 28 ( i think, but I lost the diary I was writing it down on and have had to guess....)

I have been reading this and finding it very reassuring - I am becoming very obsessed with the whole thing and even did a test last week "just incase" despite the fact that if i was PG it would be very unlikely to show positive already...

Anyway I am back up on a high hope because I've broken out in lots of horrible spots which is really not like me, so either my hormones are fighting back now they have been set free from years on the pill, or maybe i might be pregnant (hope!)

So now I am imagining extra sensitive smell and headaches and dizziness (which I get anyway from inner ear damage from a few years back). The very thought that I might be is making me look out for signs which are probably just PMT....

Anyway, hello and looking forward to TTC "with" you all!

Michaela

CD is the first 'proper' day of your cycle - ie, red blood, not spotting. DPO is days post ovulation. If my Biology teacher could hear me now, he'd be stunned...

And well done on the bloods!

heylottie · 27/08/2008 18:54

Hello ladies
Hope you are all well! Can I ask a novice-y question? What does CD mean? Days from the start of your last period? And then do I cut and paste the list? Wah!! What a luddite! Sorry!

I had my day 5 blood test today. Was a stoic.

Good luck this month - a baby at the end of May would be great wouldn't it?!!!

wildfig · 27/08/2008 16:51

eth Antibes! Wow. It's gorgeous out there - so old school glamorous and chic. What a brilliant holiday combo: Antibes and Chamonix - no wonder you're kind of now! Maybe you should put your shades and espadrilles on to go to the supermarket??

AF arrived here this morning for me, so am back to CD1, but on a positive note, we're definitely getting our 3 year old basset hound at the end of the month, and DH drove a mean bargain on the new car to put her in! I was quite in a good way with DH's manly negotiation skills; it was like watching Mad Men at close range. Everyone keeps saying, "ooh, dogs! They're such a TIE!" so am holding the enthusiastic words of the First Timers Dog Club close to my heart.

Better BFP luck summerbird , eth and fairywing!

eth37 · 27/08/2008 16:37

No snow, summerbird, well apart from at 4000metres!! It was actually really hot and sunny apart from the day we got there (my birthday )when it was FREEZING and didn't stop raining!
Saz we didn't go to the seaquarium - I don't remember seeing one? Went to the Picasson museum and on lots of boats though! (And lots of nice restuarants...let the diet begin!!)

saz007 · 27/08/2008 16:08

Afternoon ladies!

Mental time at work at the mo' and I'm in on my own as my team-mate has called in sick...arrrgggh! Nothing to do with the fact we had a major release over the Bank Holiday weekend

Can't wait for 5 tonight, dying to get home!

Oooh Eth I liked Antibes! Did you go to the Seaquarium?

Summerbird you've made me hungry now and I've been trying to resist the vending machines calling me from downstairs

summerbird · 27/08/2008 15:37

hi eth of course i remember you went to chamonix, i gather there was no snow for skiing??!!

i am having a busy day at work today so just slipped on here to say hi. Am on 13DPO but just on CD25 so still confused as to when to be knicker checking!

i have to say tho that i have had a cheese pasty, sausage roll, doughnut and two cans of pop today..... so i am either PG or a fat pig!!!!!!

eth37 · 27/08/2008 13:25

Where is everyone today? (sad)
It is my last day before back to work and I am so traumatised! Just done 3 loads of post-hol washing, cleaned kitchen and now i need to vacuum and prepare self mentally for tomorrow!! Oh, and maybe go to the supermarket.....
How is everyone?? x

eth37 · 27/08/2008 10:04

Morning Saz and summerbird! Summerbird, I absolutely LOVE Bath, it is gorgeous. Only ever been for a day but I can imagine it is lovely for a weekend romantic break. Was the weather better there?

We had 5 days in Chamonix doing some amazing walks (one lasted 10 hours - took a wrong turning, didn't get back to our hotel 'til 8pm....!) then 5 days in Antibes where it was pretty damn hot. A couple of my uni friends were there as well so hung out with them too. It was lovely, I am in total post-hol depression mode now though!! Work tomorrow... GRoss!! DH is back today (he spent most of the last week stressing about it, grrrr).

Really can't believe we have had 2 BFPs this month - soooo amazing!!

Morning to everyone XX

Yep eth we are almost synched, i am not sure if i will AF early this month tho coz of my DPO, it sometimes does come early, so in the words of BSL i am frantically knicker checking from today! (even tho that is WAY too early). If it doesnt work this month i am dying to get onto the preseed next month

where have you been eth? our surftastic weekend was fab even though the weather was crap, but our jaunt to Bath was even nicer, i can highly recommend it as a romantic mini break.

just found out another work colleague is PG but for her as she is lovely!

fairywing wildfigand summerbird we are fairly similar. My cycles are 27 days long usually. Am concerned that may not have BDed at right time though - last pre-ov was CD12... Do you think this is too early? Maybe DH has hardy sperm...!

Hope everyone well xxx

summerbird · 26/08/2008 19:38

allo there eth we missed you too! welcome back

wildfig but it aint over till TEW sings

i went to the gym tonight and i can usually do a 5k run on the treadmill (now dont go getting all impressed, i am not a gym freak - have only been doing this for a couple of months!) but i couldnt even make 2.5k - now my heart said it is a PG symptom but my head said it is 2 weeks of lack of exercise and cake (oh and a liddle bit of redvino )

wildfig · 26/08/2008 18:44

I think I'm out this month too - I'm spotting, and my temperature has dropped right down (although I've slept in four different places this month with wildly varying heating), so all my symptoms are probably just signs of basic ill health. Apparently folic acid can cause Funny Mouth Taste: how mean and ironic is that?!

Glass of wine/straw/pipettes and cushions are the way to go, definitely!

eth37 · 26/08/2008 17:48

Hey guys - I'm back in the UK!!Missed you lots!! Just about to read and catch up on all the news... XXX

summerbird · 26/08/2008 15:34

vix about AF - methinks i will be joining you at the weekend as i am feeling no different and still enjoying coffee!

My work day is rubbish....... but am trying to be positive!

Vix67 · 26/08/2008 14:40

Hi Everyone,

Hope you have all recovered from the Bank Hol Wkend!!

Wildfig i am so sorry about the pg test, i would have been devastated too!! But you never know you still may get a BFP this month!!

Well my AF has finally arrived this morning, so am feeling a bit down in the dumps today!!
Had done a PG test early this morning too which had said negative so wasn't getting my hopes up but still feel sad!!

Anyway I am going to try and stay positive and try again next month!! So fingers crossed September maybe be our month!!

xx

makingafamily · 26/08/2008 09:56

Dawn PMSL - I can see it now if this does work us all you lot saying to DP's.

Blue Peter Style "Here's one i made early" "Now this is how we're going to try it this month" Pulling out syringe, yoghurt pot and glass of wine with straw lol

makingafamily · 26/08/2008 09:45

Sending Good Vibes to everyone this morning

I really dislike Tuesdays after Bank Holidays and this one is NO better! Me and DP are still living between two homes! Yes most people would have sorted this out prior to getting married and TTC but oh no not us. We like to do things in the most back to front way possible! (Well actually thats just me!!!) Finally got back to my flat last night, got up this morning and i have left my work bag at DP's, including glasses and diary ARGHHHHHHHH

Estate agents (apologies in there are any on mumsnet) are liars! They advertise all these properties but when you call to view them none of them actually exist ARGHHHHHHHH But they do have something similar and by similar i mean, smaller, in a different area and more money!!

Rant over

so anyway, how is everyone doing today?

summerbird · 25/08/2008 21:37

MAF as i have said before, you will have some cracking stories to tell your child about their conception!!! i loved that one, i too shall be demanding a glass of wine through a straw!

hey Dawn we have a carport and had an indoor bbq in the pelting down rain for summer solstice - it was loads of fun!!

i too can believe this has gone so fast, i have had a lovely holiday break and am dreading going back to the byatches tomorrow, send me good vibes everyone...

DawnAS · 25/08/2008 21:15

maf - PMSL about your attempt and TTC!! If it works for you love, we're all going to try it that way - ha ha -

Just been to a friends for an indoor barbecue (well, saves worrying about the weather!) and had two glasses of wine. My first drink for a few weeks!!

Hope everyone else has had a lovely bank holiday!!

Catch up in the week.

xxx

makingafamily · 25/08/2008 20:44

note to self, read messages before posting

At the car boot we got rid of loads of crap NOT carp. Actually we didnt take any fish with us!!!! lol

makingafamily · 25/08/2008 20:42

Oh why do Bank Holiday weekends go so fast

We got up at 5am this morning and done a car boot which was great and very theraputic! I can't believe the crap that people will buy but at least we've rid ourselves of a load of carp

Well ClearBlue monitor is still saying high but no peak yet and no +OPK's but have started yoghurt potting. The boys popped in on their way to Madge and then in again on their way back

BE WARNED TMI TO FOLLOW!

Was quite funny laying there with my ass elevated on the front room floor, syringe still in, blanket trying to retain some dignity with bio daddy feeding me vino through a straw. Yes, i know not the ideal picture of motherhood but some things need to be accompanied by a VERY large glass of wine. Well i guess sometime soon i may be officially starting my first 2ww

Hope everyone has had a lovely Bank Holiday and here's to a happy BD'ing/Yoghurt Potting week ahead

wildfig · 25/08/2008 18:26

Hello, holiday girls! DH and I celebrated the bank holiday in traditional British fashion by going to a car dealership to look at estate cars to accommodate our dog (pending) and our (so far imaginary) baby. The salesman was very young-looking, which only made me and DH feel even more glum about the realisation that we were trading up from our usual GTi to something more 'mature'. I think we're going to compromise by opting for something with tinted windows and more horsepower than we strictly need.

I have a cautionary Watchdog style tale for this Bank Holiday teatime - for anyone else who stockpiled those First Response ovulation sticks with the free Early pregnancy test when Boots had the 2-for-1 offer on last month. I felt so rubbish on Saturday (8 DPO) with the metallic taste/fatigue thing that I did a test when I got in, and after about thirty seconds I got two lines! I stood there looking at it in mild shock, then when it didn't change, phoned my mum, since DH was out. She was v excited, and started going on about names and cots, and how she'd known when I refused the fifth bacon sandwich, etc. I called DH a few times, couldn't get him, and was about to call him a third time, when I checked the stick again and the second line had VANISHED! VANISHED after ten minutes! I got straight onto the interweb, Googling frantically (what did we do before the internet? Seriously?) and apparently - on the POAS site - it's a registered problem with some of those FR early tests, that the positive result can appear then vanish, and you're supposed to consider it negative. I was a bit , then kind of , then kind of at the fact I was testing far too soon anyway.

I did a test yesterday (9DPO) and it was negative. But then I had a tiny bit of spotting, plus some rashy spots, and I've still got the metallic taste, so I don't know. My nipples seem pretty noncommital. I'm never late, so I guess I'll know by Thursday...

summerbird I'm doing that 'hmm? coffee? different?' thing too! I'm so stupid, though, because I always tell myself it does, and then DH points out I'm drinking decaff. Maybe we should combine our symptoms??

hello!! to everyone else [waves]
