hello all. I Just wanted to pop in to say I hope you have a frolicking good weekend

saz007 · 29/08/2008 13:33

A June baby would be great, actually it would be good at any time of year! But it would be good to be off in the summertime (I can understand the teacher's not agreeing, esp if you dont get the same pay - [shocked emoticon])

At least in June it should be good weather to get outside

I was on the train on the way home yesterday and there was a little baby boy sitting opposite me - totally cute!

Linwin · 29/08/2008 13:21

summerbird sorry to hear about AF. I am taking a leaf out of your book and thinking positively too.

eth a June baby would be wonderful. I don't think its bad to think like that - for me it would be good as I'd miss out the busiest time of the year at work. Oops. I definitely shouldn't be thinking like that but whats the point in having 6 months off work in the quieter part of the year?

saz007 · 29/08/2008 11:16

Sorry how rude am I?

Helloooooooooo to vix, eth, michaela, wildfig, crunchy* - hope you're enjoying your hols lady!! Full trip report on your return

Louder hellos to maf, dawn, linwin, lottie, fairywing

Really shouting to say hi to bonifacio and bsl - we're not at all of your hols

Phew! The groups getting nice and big now, I've only just realised.

eth37 · 29/08/2008 11:12

How annoying summerbird. But there's always the aclohol-flavoured silver lining!

And a June baby would be cute. That's my reckoning. Although as a teacher, it would be baaaaad, as I would not get full pay over the summer holidays!! Is it awful to think like that?!

saz007 · 29/08/2008 11:11

Good morning all!

God I'm glad it's Friday today!!!!!

Oh Summerbird for AF showing her ugly face at your door. But good on you girl for having that attitude I've decided that PMA is the ONLY way to go from now on

Oooh and good news about your BIL - that's cool!

I wonder if it's too early to have a virtual vino? If not, it's my round girls

MichaelaS · 29/08/2008 11:05

Aah, bad luck summerbird, our posts crossed there.

Better luck next time I say!

m

MichaelaS · 29/08/2008 11:04

Hello all!

Well summerbird has much better willpower than me! I am on CD30 today and AF expected anytime between 2 days ago and the next week - no signs yet so I was getting all excited and did a test last night - negative.

Aaargh, so frustrating, there is a small chance its a false negative due to not enough hormone, but it's probably just that i'm on a long cycle. Haven't got used to predicting it since I came off the pill, have been anywhere between 28 and 36 days so far.

So i'll be off to Boots after work to stock up on more tests so I can take them next time my willpower crumbles. Will test again on Sunday if no signs of imminent AF by then.... (actually i'll probably give in and test again tomorrow, my hormones seem to be in league with Boots shareholders to make them profit!)

good luck everyone!

m

summerbird · 29/08/2008 11:03

sorry vix and eth AF arrived this morning BUT i have decided that this month i am going to be and move on forward to the next month, there are to be no tears in the summerbird household this time.

also means i can have a coupla pints this afternoon in the Birmingham sunshine!!!

Bring on the preseed!!

eth37 · 29/08/2008 10:23

Oo thanks for that vix, will have a look!

Vix67 · 29/08/2008 10:14

Welcome back from your hols crunchy sounds like you had a great time!!

eth i have got a digital basal thermometer, i got it online and it was about £7. If you click on the link below, this is where I got it from.

www.smefertility.com/basal-body-thermometer---fertility-68-c.asp

and wildfig is right , you have to do it as soon as you wake up!!

summerbird i must say you are being very strong, i would have done about 10 tests by now haha!! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you that it IS implantation spotting!!

to everyone else!!

xx

eth37 · 29/08/2008 08:27

summerbird that does sound optimistic (shhhh) so quiet fingers crossed for you. And well done to your BIL!

I am now CD24, AF due Tues.... If we had managed it this month it would be from v early in the cycle - CD12 - and OVed CD16 so I am not too hopeful. This is why I need to temp!!

Happy Friday!

summerbird · 28/08/2008 21:54

hey crunchy seems i need to go back to wales to get my clear skin back, it has taken me back to being 15 and getting told off for picking spots!!!

er right, so i had some brown CM after work tonight and nothing since, i need to stop obsessing and accepting that it is probably AF but in the back of my mind i am wondering if it is implantation bleed....

eth i havent done any temping as i get a little twinge as i OV, so good luck with that.

on another matter, i am sooo proud! my BIL is an aspiring folk/americana singer and is being interviewd on BBC Radio West Midlands right now as we speak, as i said earlier we are off to see him at the Moseley Folk Fest tomorrow, sorry i just had to do the proud big sister moment!!

eth37 · 28/08/2008 21:42

Thanks Linwin and wildfig - will see if there is a bigger Boots I can find. (Scared Q - you take the temp in your mouth, don't you? And not anywhere scarier?)

crunchy it sounds like your hol did you lots of good!! Glad you are feeling chipper xx

crunchynutter · 28/08/2008 21:38

hi all! I have to leave our lovely log cabin in the morning but I suppose that means I can come back on here a little more! eth I feel for you. Were not back tip Tuesday and I am dreading it! I have Also lost my calendar thingy so don't even know when the kids are back! I got dragged into doing a 'super learning day' on the 4th too so basically teaching 5 identical lessons to different groups of yr 10s all day-should be fun!

Well to update you ladies, still no AF, have lovely clear skin agAin (lovely welsh air maybe?) and my (.)(.) are not hurting too much (although can be a little sensitive if I sleep on my side!) so I feel More like myself but don't know if that is good or bad! Still taking the pregnacare but also tea coffee and wine (or champagne this week hehe I really don't think our little ones are In a rush to implant but I am feeling strangely calm Bout it at the moment- holiday must have done me good!

(I am still bugging DH to agree on names though just in case! LOL and suggested today that when we do have our babies we should get a puppy so my Alfie won't get jealous or ignored cos he'll have a friend to play with!)

Hope you are all well anyway. Crunchy xx

Linwin · 28/08/2008 21:24

Hmm, eth I did ask this very same question a while ago on the other thread. The advice I was given was to get a basal digital thermometer - I remember seeing them on Boots online if that helps.

wildfig · 28/08/2008 21:23

online... celsius...pregnancy... worst editor of the week award... thangyouverymuch

wildfig · 28/08/2008 21:22

Boots do a fertility temping kit in the pregancy/family planning area - it's got a celcius thermometer that you're meant to leave within arm's reach for first-thing-temperature taking, and a pretty useless chart book in a leatherette binder. I ditched that and use the Fertility Friend chart in line. I've been doing that and ov kits and it seems to work (well, I know when I ov and I finally understand what a luteal phase is, anyway!)

x

eth37 · 28/08/2008 21:08

Right - need your help ladies! Have decided to start temping from next cycle (AF due Tues). Basically I have a v v v v v regular 27 day cycle, but get EWCM from CD13 - CD17 and so if I am OVing on CD17, I would only have a 10 day luteal phase. HENCE I want to start temping to work out the exact day I am OVing. Have tried OPK sticks and a) they are expensive b) I haven't got a + which freaks me out!
Can you tell me what type of thermometer I need to get?! I have looked in Boots and I can't find them. Did you get a celsius or fahrenheit one? Any tips welcome!
Thanks girls x

eth37 · 28/08/2008 20:33

summerbird i can't believe we're back in work either!! The chaos begins... No children 'til Tues though, just mad planning and organising. We've got 3 new teachers starting (out of 10 teachers) so is even worse than usual...

Enjoy your red wine - make sure you take advantage of the compulsory AF-excess-alcohol-consumption!

summerbird · 28/08/2008 18:32

linwin i get bad AFs too, since my laporoscopy they havent been too bad but i have been writhing on the floor in pain so i do understand, we just need extra strong ibruprofen and a cuddle i find!

i just read back on this thread a bit and it is a good job that i didnt test tonight, BSL gave me a stern telling before she went on hols so if i had tested early she would have bol*ked me!!!

eth i cant believe you guys are back at work already, my sis is a teacher too and i get so at her holidays - but she does work hard bless her.

Linwin · 28/08/2008 18:18

Evening girls,

So jealous of you eth - I am still stuck at work and will be here a while yet. Zzzzzz. DH picking me up an M&S ready meal curry for when I get home though!

Sorry to hear summerbird that you think AF is on the way...its crap isn't it

MAF I'm sure you'll be fine. My sister has that and also was anorexic for years and never had AF and she got PG within a few months of trying.

I have the worst AF I think I've ever had, she is getting worse and worse these days and is really starting to p*ss me off. Stomach ache, back ache, stomach twice size of usual. Even a whole bar of Green and Blacks hasn't helped today Ahh - maybe thats why stomach twice the size of usual

eth37 · 28/08/2008 18:06

Afternoon everyone!

Nice to hear from you MAF and I agree with summer - your boys sound amazing. And you're right - so many people have PCOS and manage to conceive naturally. Your GP sounds v good as well. And glad to see the yoghurt pot is still in use!!

summer could it be implantation spotting or are you sure it is AF? It is so cruel, isn't it. I have had awful menstrual-like cramps today, but worse and AF not due 'til Tues. I had this at the same time last month (literally same CD) and got all excited that it was implantation, but tbh I am almost 100% it is IBS. I have somehow got into a tizz lately and it seems to bring it on. Does anyone else get low-down IBS by the way? It feels like bad period pain but with gurgles? IF that makes sense>?!

crunchy are you back at school yet? I went in today... Bombarded with stuff I had chosen to forget about for the last month. Eeeeew.

Hope everyone else had a good day. DH out all evening at gig so just invested in a yummy M+S curry ready meal - I am so lazy! xxx

summerbird · 28/08/2008 17:44

just got home and think AF is on her way, i knew i was getting way too excited !! got home to a bit of browm CM which is prob spotting in time for TEW to arrive tomos

ah well - DH is on his way home with some redvino, i am off tomorrow (going to see my BIL play at the Moseley Folk Festival - how cool!) so am gonna get trashed tonight in time for the big detox which starts - ooo - maybe next week!

makingafamily · 28/08/2008 14:40

Awe thanks Summer. I'm back to feeling much more positive again now and we're back to insems at every given chance
