Fingers crossed for you Tink. I hope the market where you live is better than down here where absolutely nothing is selling. Really hope you get someone who is interested!

tinkcantwaittofindoutboyorgirl · 26/08/2008 12:51

the couple who viewed didnt make an offer roll on for more viewings

Playingthe9monthwait · 26/08/2008 12:38

Hi Dal,

I must have ov'd CD18/19 when I got pg. Actually thats quite early for me, it can be anything up to CD25 for me.

Weekend was great fun, hard work, am tired today but worth it. A real community spirit, twas lovely.

GYo · 26/08/2008 12:17

HI Dals

I dont think CD 17 is late for ovulation. The books go on about 28 day cycles which mean ovulating on day 14, but not sure that many people are like that. I'd try and track what day you most likley ovulate so you can get the GOFing at the right time if you arent successful this time. Are you tracking EWCM too? I found that great way of tracking ovulation, not just when TTC but before when i just wanted to know when my AF is coming.
Playing - your weekend sounds like good fun

Glask- sorry you are so poorly. Lets hope it passes soon.

Just back from my facial, was pure bliss- lady was really kind. Sorry Cals to make you but i had a eyebrow shape as well

Hi Tink, Firesam

Dalrymps · 26/08/2008 11:41

Hello everyone!

Duh, I just looked on the ff website and i had it wrong, I hadn't ovulated on CD12, it was CD17! I thought it had meant the 17th of Aug but on closer inspection of the graph it was CD17 not aug 17!

Is that quite late in my cycle to ovulate? Anyone know what the average is?

Sesqual - Glad you enjoyed York and enjoyed spending time with your bf's lo. Keep looking for those symptoms, fingers crossed for you!

Calsworld - Lol at your ds suddenly copying everything. My nephew is just over 20 months and has started doing this too over the past few months, soooo cute! Sorry to hear your nan is not well, bet it made her day to hear ds talking. Don't worry about being 'on the wrong board', if you want to talk about it go ahead, i'm willing to listen and i'm sure everyone else is more than happy to also.

Playingthe9monthwait - Sounds like you had a great weekend, we just spent most of it sorting the house out . Good luck for your scan, i'm sure it'll go fine

Well, i'm still not dressed so i'll be back later, hi to anyone i've missed.

GYo - Enjoy your facial, am very !

Glask - Sorry to hear you're feeling and being so sick, hard to cope with i'm sure but at least it's a definate sign the pregnancy is going well iyswim.

tink - i've been looking on the internet for a pic of the 2 seats for the buzz but can only see it mentioned but not pictured, I want to see it

Firesam - Here's hoping the GOF's did the trick, here's to many more! Not sure if I would know you in that case, I've been on here just under a year but not been on the ttc bit before...

Playingthe9monthwait · 26/08/2008 11:21

Morning all, how are we all today?

Hope we all had a good long weekend. Our town had its annual bank holiday festival which was fantastic. Loads and loads of live music, lots of events, street kitchens and of course alcohol a plenty (not for me though ). Was such a good weekend and so well attended for a small town. They managed to pretty much drink the bars dry! And best of all I was well enough to stay out late enough everynight to hear all the music, which finished about about 10.30 which is much later than I've been going to bed recently!

Good luck for everyone with scans coming up. I've got my 12 week nuchal scan tonight, so am feeling excited and scared at the same time.

Welcome FS. Everyone is lovely in the wagon and because we are all in slightly different stages now there's normally someone to answer all questions. Alternatively we just have a good old natter!

I've got al this pushchair stuff to look forward to! Am trying not to think about it too much yet.

Umm, sure there was more that I wanted to say to people . Oh well, sorry if I missed something!

calsworld · 26/08/2008 10:52

FS - think all the text books say 18 months but when I mentioned it at nursery a couple of weeks ago, they said DS was perfectly normal and within scope...its just funny that I was asking and all of a sudden, its like a switch has been flipped and he 'gets' it . Its very cute!

We've been home visiting family and my nan is very poorly, our visits mean a lot to her, so very lovely for her to hear him talking. Brought a lovely big smile to her face. She was really excited about the pg too, so was my grandad - I think its good for him to have something to look forward to as at the moment I think it seems to him that all he's got on the horizon is my nan's death .

Had some very surreal conversations about her wishes....guess this isn't the right board for that.

My scan is a week tomorrow! YAY! I'm placing a bet I will be 9weeks and 6 days ....anymore for anymore? (I had to 're-do' a week last time around and really don't want to do that this time!! )

firesam · 26/08/2008 09:50

I know cal! lol. don't worry, we'll give it a rest for a few nights I think - don't want to wear him out! and also I'm studying as well so must focus on that really!

def fun is being had in this house! lol.

21 months is still quite young really I think isn't it for talking? still everything in it's own time - then again I do find locally to me the HV's are v keen to refer to speech therapy when the child is 18 months or so if they're not talking, which in some respects is a little sad.

were talking names last night with DP, think we're settled on Oliver, for a boy, and either, Evangeline, Emelia or Ellise (need to check spelling on that one thou) for a girl. my fave has to be the first two thou.

calsworld · 26/08/2008 09:28

Morning FS, DS is nearly 21 months, and until this weekend said very little at all! The girls at nursery had said at the end of last week he'd started copying them more so I'm not surprised he's leapt along at the weekend - we've been away with family for three days so has had super amounts of one-on-one attention with various family members which I think helps lots.

Am sure I'll be wishing him quiet soon! For now the only problem will be when he is telling me something and I'm not understanding!

Not meaning to dampen your fire so to speak, TTC recommendations are not to over do it on the frequency of GOF's (recommended once every two days) as the high quality sperm quality doesn't have time to replenish inbetween otherwise... although it sounds like you're having far too much fun which I think is far more important of course!! (not at all, !

firesam · 26/08/2008 08:59

wow this thread moves fast! I have one night off to ahem pounce I mean be attentive to DP's needs, and it all happens!

thanks for the welcome, re prams, I had a UD - well have had loads but we (XH & I) did a lot of country walks with the dogs so it'as fab for that and now DS is older it's the only one he;ll sit in when we go out to the shops etc - I like to have him contained

this time around - I guess DP will want a say but as i'm walking a lot more i'm more inclined for a 3 in 1 thb, as also will keep the UD for walks, also have a mcclaren fro strolling with. have kept a lot of stuff from DS in the attic - so makes sense to buy some but re use a lot.

dal - not sure if you'd know me or not! lol - am v old skool! (was on the ttc boards with DS, but that was well a life time ago!) -have to change names twice since after XH was reading my posts - idiot man! and now well, SIL uses MN as well so don't want her and DB to know yet!

cal - how old is DS? mine just started talking when he was ready - now I wish he'd be quiet sometimes! lol. it's non stop all day - firesam mummy, or mummy mummy mummy! I swear I'm changing my name to oi you what's your name!

anyhow off to a cracking start this month so far - (er, twice over the w.e) and twice last night! so all is good, and fingers crossed - poor DP next week!

tinkcantwaittofindoutboyorgirl · 26/08/2008 08:54

morning

it has been quiet on here lately

tumbleweed tumbleweed

morning dar - yes the two seats are different to carrycot is a new thing

sesq-glad you had a good time in york.
good luck with symptom spotting

hi cal- ye bum is better thanks.
slept with a cushion between legs last night seemed to stop any cramp which is great and stopped me moving around so much.
ds sounds so cute with his words very clever

morning gyo-wow 11 wks that has gone quick!
i am 20wks on thursday
enjoy the facial sounds lovely

calsworld · 26/08/2008 08:51

oooh Gyo, wish I was going for a facial! I desperately need my eyebrows re-shaping too, they seem to be taking over my brow!

I've just had another text from the cleaner saying she can do another day this week coz she's on holiday for the next 2! How come no-one told me? Grrr now I'm without for three weeks . Bum. I suppose I'll have to do it . At least my energy seems to be coming back, although I've had a right dodgy tummy all weekend so I don't know how.

I think my jeans are starting to get a bit tight but then again, I did tumble them so I may have shrunken them a bit . I don't seem to be doing too badly compared with some of the girls on the March thread (in the waistline expansion department). This is good as my sister has all my maternity clothes and I haven't told her I'm pregnant yet - I want to wait till after the scan because at the moment I'm utterly convinced that I'm not pregnant and there's nothing in there, in fact, I'll probably get my period any day now .

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 26/08/2008 08:46

morning all- was 6wks yesterday!! and this morning MS has defo kicked in big time!! woke up, not even fully and had to run to be sick!! poor DH didn't want to go to work as he thinks i wont cope with the kids!!

so if i go AWOL for a while you know why!! This one has got to be a boy now!!- i never had a sniff of sickness with DD and had hyperemesis with DS so it just proves to me it's a boy!!

sorry not caught up, but am going to throw up again soon, so0 am going for the day now!!

GYo · 26/08/2008 08:26

Morning Cals and hi Ses

Your w/ends sound great.

Cals- think I'd be sceptical re the cleaners if I were you... but I am way too sceptical about everything!

Your DS sounds funny-

Good luck with the symptom spot Ses.

Im off for treat this morning, going for a facial at the hotel that I got married at, will be my first time back there since the wedding so quiet excited! - talking of which I'd better get going or I will be late...

Catch you all later

PS- 11wks today !!!

calsworld · 26/08/2008 08:21

(just re-read and I've made it sound like he's just said "no" and "woof", woof is new, but so is "quack quack", "moo", "baa", snuffling pig noises that I don't know how to type, "doll", "Mobo" (motorbike), "lomo" (lawnmower), "dog", "cat"....etc!

calsworld · 26/08/2008 08:18

Morning all! Where are you? Can't believe this is the first post at 08.11!

I've been away over the w/e visiting family, had a lovely time. Nieces are very 'hectotic' but DS had a lovely time playing with them.

I've been told that DS will just start talking all of a sudden and he has! This weekend he's just started copying everything. He ended up in bed with us last night and sat bolt upright at 6.30 this morning saying "oof oof" as we had the windows open and he could hear a dog in the park behind our house!

Also, when I was trying to get him dressed, every time I put a trouser leg on him, and started on the other leg, he pulled the other one out. In frustration I said, "no, no, no" and he just lay there copying me - and it sounded like it was in a mock posh accent "no, no, no". DH was laughing so much he couldn't have his morning shave! LOL. I think he'll have fun with the girls at nursery today.

I'm working from home today and am supposed to start at 8.30, but haven't had my shower yet - will have to run in a sec....I work from home so that the cleaners can clean whilst I am here but they've just texted and cancelled "due to women's problems". This is about the third time they've done this to me now and getting a bit fed up with it. I wouldn't mind but how many "women's problems" can you have in a month? Maybe I'm being unreasonable?

Wow, that was all very me, me, me....sorry!

Welcome Firesam, good luck!
Tink, sorry you've got a sore bottom!! Hope its better now!!
LOL at pushchair talk...have to say I've never really been struck with the pushchair bug so if I disappear for a while, don't worry, I'll be back when you're all decided
Good luck to all those ttc'ing and GOF'ing at the moment!

SesQal · 25/08/2008 22:36

Hi everyone!
Welcome Firesam!

Back from York and had a great time. Great to see bf. We're really lucky as even thought we're >200 miles apart we get on so well and just automatically understand and empathise with eachother so we don't really ever have to explain ourselves.
Also good to see my goddaughter. She will be 3 in October and is adorable I was a bit of a novelty and she became quite attached to me. She gives really good cuddles and is so quick and bright. I feel almost as if I've got precious first born syndrome but with her! How on earth will I be when I have a dc of my own???!!

Talking of which, I'm now 5dpo but no real symptoms no matter how hard I try and spot. Will just have to try and be patient!

Hope you've all had a good bank holiday weekend - wil try and catch up properly on the thread!

GYo · 25/08/2008 21:57

Night Dal, and everyone else.

Might also read my baby books and mags

Dalrymps · 25/08/2008 21:47

Hey everyone,

Diege - yeah thats why we chose that colour, thought it'd look nice with pink accessories for a girl if we have one and good for ds too. FIngers crossed for an offer on your house!

Gruffalo - weird, you're eating almost the same things as I could stomach when first pregnant. I also ate pretzels, biscuits (digestives/rich tea), nesquik, and ginger beer. Iirc I then moved on o sparkling water and hommous on pitta bread. I still have to drink sparkling water every day now and ds is 10 months!

Firesam - Welcome, everyone is very friendly here. Hope you get your BFP soon. I'm waiting to start ttc in Jan . Very curious to know who you are usually!

Tink - Yeah it is exciting the ff site said I ovulated, kind of weird to know exactly when it happened! Good luck with the house selling, hope you get an offer . You were saying the 2008 buzz comes with 2 seats, is that seperate to the carry cot? Is it a new thing they're doing?

Gy0 - sounds like you've had a fun packed weekend!

Well, off to read my pregnancy, baby and you magazine (don't know if I mentioned but i'm addicted to magazines).

Night all x

GruffaloSoldier · 25/08/2008 21:13

Hi Diege,

Doc said that scans can be from 8 weeks but not sure how soon mine will be - I guess I will find out Saturday. If I do go earlier it will be to ascertain how many weeks I actually am as I don't know as didn't have a period since coming off the pill!

tinkcantwaittofindoutboyorgirl · 25/08/2008 21:03

evening

hi gyo yes that it what i was going to do wih buzz use car seat on frame and buzz 2008 model comes with 2 seats 1st one is from birth and lies flat so was going to use that 2.
i am abit sore down there and is aching abit when i walk is alot better than yesterday only aching in the eve think i have been over doing it by walking around tidying too much, making sure i sit down lots now

GYo · 25/08/2008 20:27

Hi Diege, Gruff.

Thanks for the Zapp info Diege, think I will have to look at all the ranges more closely when its a bit closer to the time.... certainly not yet!

(though i have a strange compulsion to buy things, paint rooms etc- a far cry from how I felt a couple of weeks ago!)

7Wks Gruff! Wow, seems to have gone quick. Good luck for the MW appointment!

off to relax in the bath with a glass of cold whitewine iced water

Diege · 25/08/2008 20:10

Hi GYO! Your weekend sound svery busy and fun . LOL at pram price ignorance - it's a whole new world . Re: the zapp I used from 6 months, though I knwo people who used it happily from birth with car seat adaptor. I don't drive, so wanted a carry cot lay flat style pram that can get on buses and trains easily. Have to say that as a pushchair the zapp is great - much lighter and more manoevreable than maclarens, althugh I did have to buy a special bag and basket set from E-bay so I had soemwhere to store stuff (think new model does have some storage?)
Hi GRUFF! Do you have to wait until 12 weeks for scan? Or do they do them earlier where you are? Not long till 12 weeks now though!
Right, have evening to myself as dh out with friends. I quite fancy that Timothy Spall programme about GB's last hangman should be a laugh

GruffaloSoldier · 25/08/2008 19:50

hi gyo

Your weekend sounds good! We are planning to do some painting over the next couple of days as we have had the paint for months!

Im 7 weeks roughly but not certain! I cant wait to have a scan and find out exactly where I am! Not knowing is driving me crazy.

GYo · 25/08/2008 19:36

Hi Everyone

Its been quite quiet here over the w/e- guess everyone has been busy!

Diege and Tink- good luck with the viewings, think September is a good time to be looking for buyers? and good luck Ses for 26th! Fingers crossed it all goes through ok.

All this talk of prams is exciting. I started to look at them last night and I had NO IDEA you could spend so much money on prams and car seats etc.

Diege- interested to hear you have the Quinny Zapp. I was looking at it (albeit a bit early ) as I?ve got a very small car and I heard it folds up small. Did you use it from birth with the maxicosi seat?
Tink- is that what you are doing with the Buzz?

Gruff- sorry you are feeling rough ? hopefully it will pass soon, how many weeks are you? Great scrapbook idea! Im keeping my pregnancy tests that still say positive loud and clear as well as all the scan stuff. Was going to do a box of things but scrapbook is nice idea!

Welcome FireSam! ? this is a really great thread!

Hi to everyone else

I?ve had a busy weekend with trips to coast, family, shopping, cleaning, more painting and tomorrow I?ve got the day off so I?m going for a nice facial.
