NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 17:00

Bloody hell LB, are you OK now?

What a piss take with the results, that is not on. I think I'd put in a formal complaint, they would have known on Tuesday that the computers would be down on Friday for something like new software. Still I expect by now the results woul dhave been under an experts nose and if there had have been anything untoward I am sure they would have let you know.

And that bill I'd have been the same as you! And it wouldn't damage the baby at all, so don't worry about that. Over the next few days try to do something that you really love doing, the 'good' hormones will (and do apparently) even out the 'bad' stressy hormones.

Shitty day eh? Have a wrinkly bath and eat chocolate after you've finished work, let yourself relax.

I got one of the fancy clearblue ones and it said pregnant within about 30secs and then also said i conceived 2-3wks ago which is when i expected anyway!! though so nice to know I'm not 'imagining' lines!!!

We took the kids to camelot theme park today which wa slots of fun... DH went on all the rides with the DC's which was good!!

lardybump · 15/08/2008 16:50

Beware rant alert!!!!!

I am so annoyed today. I spent £120 on my Neucal (sp?)and bloods as we had to go private (Not available on NHs here until 20 weeks). I had it done on Tuesday and was told to call today for results. I have called 3 times today I was firstly told to call back as blood results are not in yet (that was a 10 this morning) then I was told to call back at 3 as they were having technical difficulties. Now I have been told to call back Monday as they are having new software installed on their computers and so can not give results.

This has made me so angry. They were quick enough to take the money, and now I have to worry all weekend. They should have had the software updated on a weekend when they are not open. I just hope the results are correct when I get them on Monday....

Sorry to moan I was just so looking forward to putting it all to bed today!!!!

Then walked in the door this afternoon (already angry re above) and found the gas and electric bill on the mat. Gas £50 cool I think much better than I was expecting. Electric bill £590.... What the fuck...... Try to call dp no answer... Try to call my dad, (don?t know what he could do!!) no answer so put dd in cot and call gas board... They put me on hold for 30 minutes while I wait for a representative.... I work my self into a state in this time. So by the time a representative answers I am crying my eyes out and pleading for help (not a good look for a grown woman)... Anyway I ask him to send someone straight out as I think there is either fault on my meter or the neighbours have wired up their houses to my electric.... (I really am hysterical- we only have a 2 bedroomed house).. He manages to calm me down and talked my through a few things... It transpires the meter was read incorrectly and the reader gave the total used as the day reading...... Actual bill is £78.......

After I put phone down I went all dizzy and threw up everywhere. DP has come home now and said " you silly mare it was obviously a mistake why did you get so wound up you could of damaged the baby."....... I tell you there is no compassion around here anymore...

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 16:39

Nope, buggy basket is always full of jackets and socks and work that DS1 brings home from school and never sees the light of day again! I have proper handles so it all hangs off them, hence why I couldn't fit on the first bus!

Those tests sound very fancy, agree though they could cause an awful lot of upset over nothing. I am surprised they can tell off the level of hcg, IIRC there is a very varied amount of HCG that still add up to a viable pregnancy, some people's hcg will not just double in 48 hours but could triple.

It is storming here as well, so much for the nice sunny day!

Hi Diege

Thanks for the re-assurance.
Have a lovely indian meal out. Sounds like fun.

Diege · 15/08/2008 16:26

Hi Playing, good to hear from you, and glad thaqt MS is (possibly) tapering off. Think at this stage it starts to decrease for most people anyway, as placenta starts to take over .
GYO, must be nice to have a super-positive dh - I'm sure all is fine too - those symptoms sound classic first trimester to me!
Nat - wow,you must have a big basket under your buggy to fit that lot in! Sounds a very productive shopping trip.
Tinks - any nice bits in Next? Had a flick through the new directory yesterday and nearly broke my wrist! I remember the days when they were the size of a glossy magazine!
Had my free fancy clearblue digital in post (that trial that mumsnet and clearblue were promoting). Not at all sure about it, as it has a conception bit that indicates (if you're pregnant) how pregnant you are (I guess by measuring hcg levels). Can you imagine how anxious that would make me??!!!What if it indicates you're less pregnant that you think, or you test again a few weeks later and level of pregnancy stays same?? I think the one thing I loved about CB digis was that there was no fretting over the darkness of line - just a simple line. Think I'll avoid after I've done the trial one!
Out tonight for an Indian with dh and some friends, so giving the girls and early tea to give me time to get glammed up .
Will pop in over the weekend hopefully...arghh thunder storm just started!!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 13:32

You want a list? (See AN thread for the main thing )

I got DS1 some stationary stuff (he is going through a phase at the moment!), got DS2 a truck thing with a digger on the back of it, and a couple of books, got DH a cushion with 'Dad's chair, any cash found down the back of it is mine' on it, and for the house me I got some different paint for the bathroom because I don't like the one we used for it, and some new mugs, and the inevitable apple danish But they are soooooo yum!

Lack of symptoms is nothing to worry about, just gloat about!!

OP posts:
tinkispregnantwithpickle · 15/08/2008 13:29

i know nat lol being abit of a worrier.
did you get anything exciting in town
have decided we are going to walk up to next near me about 30 min walk to have a look.

GYo · 15/08/2008 13:23

LOL- we are all wishing vomiting upon ourselves.

What will be will be- thats my favourite expression at the moment!

Playingthe9monthwait · 15/08/2008 13:21

What did you get you get up to in town Nat? Buy anything nice?

Playingthe9monthwait · 15/08/2008 13:20

GYo - I know what you mean about worrying about lack of symptoms. I know that naturally I will be starting to feel slightly better by now (unless I'm unlucky) yet despite having terrible heartburn on Weds and still feeling exhausted all the time, I couldn't stop myself wondering if everything was ok! I actually found myself feeling quite happy when I threw up yesterday as it had been 3 days. Utter maddness!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 13:20

We're back

Tink, I am sure the bottles will be fine, what harm could they come to? Quick delivery as well!

Town was packed we had to wait for the next bus because I couldn't get the buggy on the one that was there Must be the nice weather getting people out of their houses.

Hi Playing
Glad to hear that your nausea seems better. Fingers crossed it stays away.

Maybe its as well the DH's are super optimistic or I'd be more worried than I already am!

Re MS, Ive been keeping quite quiet so as to avoid tempting fate (also didnt want to annoying those on here that are feeling rough!!) but I've actually not been feeling that bad. Odd patch, usually daily, of nausea but nothing to stop me doing anything. Always can make it better by eating. Really suprising as when I used to take the pill, restarting after the break used to have me feeling dreadful. Generally, apart from mood swings and tiredness Im not suffering.
Trying not to worry re lack of symtoms but its hard- obviously havent mentioned to DH!

12wk scan is 3wks today.

Playingthe9monthwait · 15/08/2008 12:25

Hi GYo,

MS is ok today. Had a good few days actually. Was terrible on Monday but had no sickness and hardly and nausea on Tues, Weds and was only sick once yesterday. Not been ill yet today either. So far, it seems to be improving this week. Not gone, but certainly better, we shall see if it stays that way. I am hoping it will as I'm 10+5 now, but I could be eating my words tomorrow, who knows! How about you? How have you been feeling?

Re: telling people. Not sure actually. I think it depends what the sonographer says, I will ask if the nuchal measurements look normal, if its the same one as I had last time she was really good and helpful (although of course I was paying before and I'm not this time). Plus I know my bloods can't be awful, had them taken 2 1/2 weeks ago and MW said she would ring if there was a problem. So I think as long as the scan looks ok and the sonographer is happy I will probably tell. Got a works night out on the 2nd so I will want to tell my colleagues before them as normally these things are just big piss ups.

Glad your DH is like mine, mine also seems to refuse to believe that anything can go wrong now!

Tink - sorry no idea!

tinkispregnantwithpickle · 15/08/2008 11:50

i received all my baby bottles only ordered yesterday. assume it doesnt matter when you buy then. they will need sterilising etc anyway. nothing will happen to them just sitting in a box till jan will it?
