***TAKING CLOMID FOR THE FIRST TIME - PART 2***

Your never be too nosey, knowledge is power and if someone can help i am grateful and willing.

. Clomid 6 months cycle started june 50mg
cycle 4 increased to 100mg.

. Metformin started at the same time 1500mg couldn't tolerate 3 tables so i am on 2 a day so decreased as per nurse advise. The tablets have finally settled down and i now take 3.

. PCOS had it for over 10yrs. The early part of my teens. Been in hospital 3 times due to severe pain and black outs. Had a laparoscopy back in 2003 nothing found, Went of the ivf waiting list.

. IVF 2005 funding came through local borough. One cycle only. Fertilized 3 eggs 2ww nothing!!!!!!

. 2007 AnotheR laparoscopy and dye test. Nothing found everything normal. Although i did get and infection and my granmother passed all in the same week i was at my lowest.

Went back to my GP who then reffered me back to Professer Rymer who is the best is women stuff. I am under her team.
I am due to see the consultant in oct I don't like him he has no empathy. Basci told me that there is still a window beacause i am youngish?? and that he will try me on the clomid and if it does not work i will have to go down the IVF route which i will have to pay for?
Dp sperm is fine had it tested before i started the clomid (lucky HIM).

PCOS for me is weight, periods, sweet cravings. My periods have been regualrish for about 2yrs before i was travelling every year for 3months at a time, so i was not getting any. One year i had 6 periods in 12 months??? I get the build up where i get pains and sore boobs for 2weeks before, i feel rage and i have mood swings like crazy. My periods after i had the op where light and no pain, now i get clumps which are so painfully i am in bed for a day?? not even the strongest pain killers take this pain away.
My weight goes up and down but now i am on the metformin it is slowly going. Before i was going to the gym 3 times a week i became a gym freak, it came to a point where the weight was not coming off anymore.
Now looking back maybe b4 i should of got the metformin and i would of been in a better place???

Im so sorry AF arrived. I know its frustrating and can get you down but if you dont carry on with the clommid you will probably always be thinking what if??

As Moonlit has said the 3 wk break may do the world of good and try and pamper yourself and relax im sure you will feel more positive soon xxxxx

Hi Cam75 - I am not one of your regular buddies on this thread, but I just want tell you there is still hope. Look at the three week separation from your hubby as a way to relax/de-stress and take a break from TTC. Trust me it will be good for you and your DP. When he returns you can start TTC refreshed and you never know, that might be your month my darling. Be strong and positive, I know it's hard but you can do it. Treat yourself to retail therapy, why not!

Tell me a little about your stats? If that's not too nosey of course?
How long have you been taking Clomid?Dosage?
How long have you had PCOS?
How long have you been taking Metformin?Dosage?
Have all your cycles on Clomid been monitored?
Is your DP sperm ok?

Just to let you know that AF arrived with a bang like i knew she would. I hate to say it but i knew it wasn't going to be. I am so mad at myself i don't know why. I have yet to call the nurse and tell her, my dp is going away on business for 3 weeks so i won't be able to take the clomid till af next month . I am seriously thinking wheather or not to keep on it is just too much and i cannot take it. I want to cry but for the life of me i can't
All the years of trying not to get pregnant and now i want to i can't it is really getting to me and i am trying to be strong but what can i do? i can't really talk to any family or friends because they don't know what i am going through....
I need to go shopping and cheer up i think.

i honey i can't remember being told to lose weight? but these dr's can get proved wrong!!! I will let you know 2moro how it goes. Ivf is good when you get the right results... I guess women in our shoes have to keep trying till we get the right result. xxx

Im sorry about the IVF failiure Cam I can imagine after all the injections and stress it just magnifys the BFN. My heart goes out to all the girls on here.
Im wondering if the clinic are going to tell me to lose weight before treating me which would be a nightmare as I cant seem to shift it.
Got quite a few friend and relatives due to have babies soon so im sure its gonna be hard for the next few months.

I hope AF doesnt arrive for you cam. Let us know

i am on metformin which seems to be working for me. You have to tell these dr's or else they don't listen???
My gp didn't give it to me it was my fertiliy nurse. I was got top the gym 3 times a week before and i was toned up but not losing anymore. it is worth a go. You have nothing to lose and a baby to gain

not got any children we are trying for our 1st really wanted them for long time so hoping the clomid works. Have had lots of people getting pg around me at mo which is always hard. Keep getting told to relax and it will happen by the very few people that know we are trying although not many know bout the clomid.
im overweight and trying to lose some to help out but is such a struggle i can eat salad for a week and put on weight!! My bro and sis are like rakes so dont know what happened to me!! seen on some threads about something that helps people with pcos to lose it but my doc not mentioned it so am going to think about going in and asking her for it!

Not been on thread before just been watching it! I have PCOS and been trying for 14 mths started my 1st round clomid this month and now on cd 16 but think may have missed best days as dh not around!! Got in couple of days before tho so hoping they were good swimmers and stayers!!

i have a failed ivf back in 2005
it is stressful!!!! i cried as the baby that i would of had would of been 2....
All the injections i gave myself and i was bruised like crazy.
Well the dr's say i am over weight too?? but i am big boned. I don't see myself like posh!!! but i have lost some weigth and i have my curves.
My dp sperm is fine it's all on me no pressure then.....
i am not sure about IUI

They gave me 6 months of 50mg and I have just finished 4th month so lots of action needed next week. My doc told me to combine month 5 and 6 and one last month of 100mg. You never know stranger things have happened. Im feeling positive ( sort of ) after Lauralous comments as im overweight ( cuddly )but as far as I know I do not have pcos. I have 1st app at clinic on 3rd oct so im hoping they will do all the checks. DH has low count too so feel like im swimming against the tide as we probably all do.

oh well it will be worth it in the end. I just really dont want to have to go through IVF as it can put a real strain on everything, but if needs be im sure we will try anything.

Anyone know much bout the difference between IUI and IVF???

how are you? gosh last cycle? how many did they say you could have? mine is six and and am waiting to see if i get BFP friday if not i will be starting cycle 5 but i am on 100mg so we will see. Another batch of hot flushes!!!

what were the sign you experince before you found out you were pg?
As i suffer from sore boobs and cramping anyways not sure what is happening???

thanks hunni hopefully you will concieve on 100mg i did on my first round of 100 and my consultant said i wouldnt as i am over weight and have pcos but it just shows you how wrong doctors are

Cam - Im fine thanks I was meant to start 4th round of 50mg last thurs but forgot on thur and fri nite so am taking it days 4-8 not 2-6 this month. I hope it still works coz i have read up and alot of different docs say different days to take it anyway. Gonna increase to 100mg next month ( last month )
Lauralou - I can imagine how your feeling and cant believe its happening to you after all the months of let downs. Im sure all will be fine and you will be blossoming soon.

ah lauralou it must be so surreal.....
i am welling up just seeing it the baby on the screen makes it more real.
I feel tired and my boobs are really heavy and sore, but it is the same when af is due? i am cramping like mad not sure what to expect?

Of course you are going to be nervous and checking i think i would be worrying too. You will be fine darling just enjoy it.

i had my 5 week scan last thursday saw the little bean lol...... but no heart beat yet as they said it is to early to see so got another appointment this thursday so i will see the heartbeat ..hopefully................

i just carnt believe it has happened i keep checking myself when i go the toilet to make sure am not spotting

when i was on the 100mg i didnt feel any side effects at all and didnt even feel like i ov but haho i did and i just no u will be soon it comes in 3s and there is dungungirl me and your next we started together so we will end together

it test day on wednesday i think!! last month i was 3 days late, so i'm going by those dates and wed is exactly 4 weeks since start of af. got all the usual symptoms when af is coming, basicaly the same symptons of early pregnacy, i'm pretty sure it will be yet another bpn!!! for a change though i havn' had nausea this month, which i must admit was quite nice, i'm just constantly tired and want to sleep all the time, don't want to waste my clearblue test this month gonna just get a cheap one instead. keep well all and fingers crossed to everyone.

most def, i have really bad hot flushes worse in fact no i am on 100mg. I feel like i could walk around naked. But now the wheather has changed i will have to becareful or else i will get the flu.
As i have pcos the waiting for af to arrive is the same to what i am feeling now so i won't really know the differnce not unless i start throwing up!!!

the side effects you get with Clomid are so annoying as they are similiar to the 1st few weeks of pregnancy it has you fooled.
I hope you get the BFP on Friday, keep us informed.
Were your side effects any worse on 100mg???
