Hi Clairebear - thanks for reply helps to chat didnt know what was up with me!! i took tablets around 7 in evening as thought same as you - sleep through side effects!! Didnt really get any either until now! Was a bit worried as didnt expect to get any this far down the line thought i had escaped them all!!

clairebear88 · 19/09/2008 10:04

Hi Peju

Welcome to the fantastic world of Clomid. Im afraid the tiredness and hot flashes are the 2 main side effects of Clomid. They occur at any time of the month as the clomid stays in your system to make sure you ovulate.
I would love to say that they get better over the months but everyone is different.
I only had hot flashes the 1st month and none since but the tiredness is still bad. I also get bad bloating and cramps throughout the month. Are you taking your tabs at nightime?? this helped me alot

peju25 · 19/09/2008 09:21

Quick question for those of you in the know! This is my first month on clomid and last couple of days i have been feeling really tired - last night i actually fell asleep by 10 which is so not like me and now today i feel like a overheating mess!! is this side effects of clomid?? I am on cd24 and didnt think the symptoms were meant to still be here - and i never had any whilst taking them??

cam75 · 18/09/2008 11:38

i am on a break dp is away so i couldn't take the clomid so i will have to wait for af to come next month.
I am just keeping busy.
I am trying to plan a weekend of fun

peju25 · 18/09/2008 11:20

wishinanhopin · 17/09/2008 13:27

YAY Dungungirl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please keep us posted with all the details.

clairebear88 · 17/09/2008 13:23

hahaha how funny heebee
The things we go through to try and get a bit of romance back. I have to admit it does get a bit regimental and defo takes some of the fun out. I suppose its what you make it.
Going to an Ann Summers party in Nov so maybe ill order a few bits

The body is such a weird and complex thing. This is my fear that I will have something wrong that noone can do anything about. Oh well fingers crossed for the 3rd...

cam75 · 16/09/2008 19:24

heebee i nearly wet myself???? bet that took the passion out of it??

wishin positions???? well i have read that doggy style, and legs in the air afterwards. I read that dp is good, but then some people say that it's rubbish once it's in the cervix it's fine. just do it everyday can't hurt!!!! i did a week session and was it good it helps tone up the body???

wishinanhopin · 16/09/2008 17:56

Yeah my body's a mystery. But I know everyone says that it happens when you STOP trying so damn hard. Have a roll in the hay without thinking am I ovulating, what position should we use?? It take the fun out of it. heebee-that phermone story is too funny. LOL

Heebeejeebee · 16/09/2008 15:45

Wishanhopion - that is bizarre... glad you rang for the referral though.

Cam - nurses uniform - you go girl! I bought some pheremone (sp?) wipes from Ann Summers which are supposed to drive men wild. DH leant over, sniffed and said "I know we don't have a rabbit, but has one peed on you?". I had to have a shower....

cam75 · 16/09/2008 14:58

wishanhopin,

wow you are a mystery??? who knows it may happen when you least expect it!!! so keep having loads of bedding!!! it is fun trying without the stress of ttc.
I am just going to have fun when dp gets back. I got a nice nurse uniform grrrrrrrrrrrr??

wishinanhopin · 16/09/2008 14:29

Hey Cam
I am a mystery, an ignama if you will. My ovaries and uterus are all well and dandy, seem to be free of cysts, for the most part, but I simply have no AF. it's been 8 months since my last (prvera induced) period. So DH and i can try and try all we like, but we never know if I'm ovulating, and since I never get my period, i never know if I'm late, or anything. So My dr put me on clomid to TTC, but she only put me on it for one MONTH. I was in yesterday and said so can we go for round two or what, so were just waiting for AF, since clomid should have ensured ovulation occured, if I'm not preggers, AF should come along. If not, we have another mystery to solve.
I just want to thank all you lovely ladies again for the support. TTC and having problems can feel so alienating, and even the best intentions sometimes from family DH and friends can seem insensitive. But everyone here gets it, and it's a soft place to land after a bad day. I am greatful.
xoxoxo

cam75 · 16/09/2008 13:12

wishinanhopin,

do you have pcos? you give the dr what for.
Just counting down the days till my dp gets back from his trip do i have so making up to do!!!!!

wishinanhopin · 16/09/2008 12:40

Hey Ladies.
Thanks for all the kind words. I feel much better today. I picked myself up off the ground LOL. I live in Canada, in a really small town in the Maritimes. So needless to say resources are limited. My Dr. is so dense. I almost want to print out a bunch of info on clomid and drop it off to her and tell her to read up on it and get a clue.
I now know that this is in my hands, and I can choose to get discouraged, or choose to be proactive, and get myself to the next town and get this journey started. I called my Dr, and left a message that I wanted to go ahead with the referral.
Babydust to all you lovely ladies....anyone have any GOOD news today???

cam75 · 16/09/2008 12:18

the hospital is in london tottenham court road. I told my GP but she sent me to Pro Rymer at Guys who is the top dr in gyno.

Moonlit darling i am relaxed just resting and trying to finish knitting a scarf for my friend...
How are you?

Moonlit · 16/09/2008 11:48

Hi Cam75 - I hope you are trying to relax

Which hospital? I am shocked at how many of you have to weight 1 year for a referral. Where I live (Buckinghamshire) the appointment comes immediately for about a months time. My PCT is quite strict about waiting lists. What annoys me the difference in treatment from one area of the UK to the other and one GP to another. My GP refused to give me Clomid, she said the consultant will hopefully give it to me next week. Again how annoying!!!!!!

cam75 · 16/09/2008 11:26

Ladies we have to kick these dr's in to shape so of them have no clue what they are doing...

In london there is a hospital that is for women who have problems getting pregnant and for women with pcos. I am afraid to say that some dr's don't know enough.
There was a gp i was seeing before and i told her that i was sweating really badly and that i couldn't find a Deodorant that would help me she told me just to use mens??? i was so upset that i changed to the dr i have now and she gets it done.
We have to fight to get our babies...

Heebeejeebee · 16/09/2008 09:28

Hi Wishin - don't give up hope. Could the Dr not have referred you now anyway to get you in the system? I know mine said to me that, in the (hopefully unlikely) event of needing further treatment like IVF, the longer you had been in the system, the better?

Agree with the others re 6 months though. I have 3 months supply, but my next appointment is in 6 months and DH remembered her saying that they would review the dose after 3 months (and I assume get me another prescription)

Thanks for the tip re the flushes!

Gemma - strange about the progesterone test if you got a positive opk (though my consultant told me not to waste my money when I told her I had a monitor). I don't think some people ov every cycle, but I would've thought that a positive opk would have been a sign you did...

cam75 · 16/09/2008 09:05

wishinanhopin,

i am sorry but do not give up hope!!!
Some of these dr's have no empathy what so ever. I like my gp is fantasic!! no matter what i tell her she is willing to help me. She was the one who got me to have a lap and dye test, she referred me to the fertilty clinic.
She is not being fair thought that at least 6 months was the standard?? i know you need to have a period before starting it.
Don't give up i am not giving up so we have to go for it. IF someone lets you down pick yourself up and try someone else. We have nothing to lose and a baby to gain...

I am here for you chick xxxxxxx

clairebear88 · 16/09/2008 09:04

Hi

Wishin - Im surprised your doc didnt give you 6months worth as thats what i thought all docs did ( obviously not ) I know what you mean about keeping an eye on you as my docs just said here is 6 months worth of tabs come back in 6 months if your still not pregnant. I really feel everybody should have a blood test every month or so to check they are not overstimulating as this can cause other problems.
Do you live in UK??

wishinanhopin · 16/09/2008 00:47

Feeling quite down after my shitty ass Dr. appt today. So I went for a follow up. This is my first time on Clomid, and AF isn't even due till this weekend. So I have no idea if I'm preggers, ovulating, having a litter of kittens nothing LOL. And she starts saying. Wellllll if you don't get your period and you aren't preggers were gonna have to start thinking fertility specialist. Which would be fine cause I'd rather see someone who has a sweet clue what they're doing. But then she informed me they are scare my small city, only 3 practicing right now and the wait list is well over a year because "and I quote....infertility is not exactly their top priority, they focus on the women that are actually pregnant" I was gutted. And this coming from a woman. So she basically said my other option is go to a city about 1 1/2 hours away to see a specialist there. So I just really hope my period comes. But I don't even have a plan for another round, she only gave me one month of clomid. Yikes........sothats my day in a nutshell. This is going to be a jouney I think.
Hope you ladies had a better day then me
Babydust to all.

clairebear88 · 15/09/2008 21:06

hi newbys

heebee - one thing i would suggest is taking the tabs before bed as the 1st month i took during day and hot flushes were really bad but now taking of a night i havent had them since. of course it might not work for everyone. Good luck and I hope you are one of the lucky ones that gets no side effects.
i still feel stupidly tired all the time though

wishin - i thought you would have been put on some tabs to start your periods off before putting you on clomid. Apparently your meant to take clomid day 2-6 and bed during days 10-22 of your cycle. its gonna be hard for a while to get all your timings right but im sure it will settle down and bobs your uncle

good luck to you both and welcome

xxxx

GemmaLuisa · 15/09/2008 20:55

Hi guys,

I know what you mean, bd was fun before all this, bought some sexy lingerie to try to 'sauce it up!' the other day and my DH just looked scared when I came in the room!!

On a rubbish note, I found out today my progesterone results are too low for me to have ovulated but the OPK's said I did, it felt lke I did and I am now heavily on AF, came on day 23??! I'm so sure I did!! The nurse was insistent I can't have done due to the low progesterone level. I haven't had periods for years so can you have AF when you dont Ovulate?

Mega baby dust xxx

Heebeejeebee · 15/09/2008 16:50

Thanks all - I'll look forward to the hot flushes/feeling tired!

Cam - your comment re saucy undies made me smile - I remember when we used to bd for the fun of it...!
