Hi all,

no i have no problems all the investiagtions have come back as me and DH are perfectly healthy they say i am Ov but have given me clomid to hopefully increase our chances. Am now on d20 and am getting period pains already great so i dont think it has worked this time. No side effects other than hot flushes unless feeling realy down is one of them??!!

I am so sorry that the witch arrived for you, how long have you been trying? do you have any probs?

My friend has just started trying for her second, her first is 23 months and it is her first month she was due 2 days ago and was going to get a test and let me know, well she hasnt let me know so i think she is pg and just doesnt want to tell me. I feel realy bad coz am going to be very pissed off if it has worked first time for her i just think why not me, i expect we all think that on here and i know i am so lucky to have DD when other people have none at all but you know those feelings just take over its like im possessed.
God i'm ranting again may be doing that alot over the next 2 weeks. I am not looking forward to this wait at all.

clairebear88 · 01/10/2008 12:29

hi all

its been very quiet on here of late??

Well the witch arrived yesterday so I wont have to cancel my clinic app on friday. I really thought it might be my month ( not sure why but think its coz I really wanted to fall and be due in June as its my wedding anniversary ). Oh well keep trying.

Ray - welcome, and hope you are not feeling to down about the ttc. We are all in the same boat so whenever you need a rant this is the place to go. I hope the first month on clomid is going ok for you and youve had no side effects. Have you been diagnosed with any problems or is it no ovulation??

Hello everyone i am newbee.
Me and DH have been TTC for 4 1/2 years, we have DD who is 7 so this is secondary infertility for us, we have had 2 MC but these were over 3 yrs ago now. I am on my first month of Clomid and am on day19 but Ov on day 16-17, from what i understood i thought i should Ov on day 14????? Not sure when to expect period to arrive. My periods are all over the place in july cycle was 38 days august was 28 days i think am just missing Ov every month. I am getting to the point where i have had enough so stressed with it all and everyone around me seems to be getting pg at first attempt of trying and is very upsetting and disheartening.
Has anyone got any advise????

Ps congrats to al of you that have fallen Pg i hope evetrything goes well for you and to everyone else lots of Baby dust to you.

Princesscat · 29/09/2008 15:21

What a few weeks! thanks for replying to me Dunnigirl, it does really help being able to vent your feelings to others who are in simular situations - i think i am driving all my work colleagues mad with my "clomid is making me psyhco"!

I am now on my second cyle of clomid and approaching CD31 so AF will be here by the weekend no doubt! we seem to be having the worst luck as 3 weeks ago BF got an absess in his groin and was rushed in to hosp for op to remove - needless to say no bd'in on ov days!
oh well hope this last cycle will prove productive otherwise they are refering us for IVF and i dont know how that will go.

Has anyone here had IVF or know anything about it??

hi

thanks heebee ill let you all know what happens but i reacon the 1st app is just getting all your details and hopefully booking me in for a scan. ill let you know anyway. thanks for the luck

aylesbury - I dont think clomid increases your chances of mc but i have heard if your prone to mc you can take 1/2 asprin daily. Better read up on that though as its only something i heard.
reguarding sperm count, which my dh has too, i have been told the following
if smokes give up and keep alcohol to a min.
no hot baths, no tight pants, when tryint to concieve do every other day asit takes longer for them to replenish, get him on multivits with extra zinc, also selenium is meant to increase the mobility not qty - my dh is on these too.
good luck as its so much to take in and does take the excitement out of it a bit tbh.

aylesbury3 · 26/09/2008 21:30

Hi, Have been given clomid again to start this month. Worried that even if i do by some remote chance get pregnant i will probably mc like before. Are you more lkely to mc whilst on clomid ? Does anyone know if their is anything consultant could presc. to higher sperm count ?

Heebeejeebee · 25/09/2008 18:03

Hi all

Claire - hope your appointment goes well and your factors should mean they should help you out - let us know how you get on!

Aylesbury - sounds tough. I was on depo at one point, but went on the pill between that and ttc. Have you been offered clomid since you remarried?

I've just come back from the hospital - there are definitely signs that I am going to ov - the follicles are 14mm so they reckon I will ov on day 17, which is what I reckon too. Even though my consultant said it wasn't possible in a 26 day cycle! The good news is that there is no risk of multiple births so we are free to try this month.

Has anyone ever been told not to try due to risk of triplets etc, but has ignored the advice?

aylesbury3 · 24/09/2008 21:21

Hi, i Have children from a previous marriage since taking the contraceptive inject. 5 yrs ago have not ovulated. Took colmid for 6mth 3 yrs ago and mc 3 times. Have re married since, Dh has low sperm count. Anyone had similar problems ??

clairebear88 · 24/09/2008 10:23

Hi

Well it looks like keep my fingers crossed is the answer. I have read up on it and it seems I have a few things going for us

Im 31 yrs old
Neither of us have children already
we have been trying for over 2 yrs
DH has low sperm issue

Oh well whatever will be will be i suppose. AF is due next tues so you never know i might need to cancel the app after I get a +ive test. ( wishful thinking but stranger things have happened )

DungunGirl · 24/09/2008 08:42

Opppps I meant...a BMI OF 30 or UNDER! Not OVER! DUUHHH

OP posts:
DungunGirl · 24/09/2008 08:42

clairebear88

I had the heartache of wanting treatment from my fertility unit but was told the exact same thing as your friend.

They wanted a BMI over 30 or under first before they can give any treatment. I was told to go away and lose weight, and to see them again in 6 months!

I asked the consultant about the BMI nonsense and she basically said it is down to the NHS trust your hospital falls within and whether the trust has implemented this across all it's hospitals.

Basically, it is down to the money controllers for the NHS trust in your area and whether they see implementing this 30 bmi rule as a way to save money.

The only place in my local trust area that perscribed anything to anyone with a BMI over 30 and had PCOS, is the PCOS clinic, but they are only licensed to perscribe Metformin! It is still the fertility unit that has the power to perscribe Clomid.

It is a long and infuriating road for some of us, so thank goodness for the ladies lucky enough to live in an area where this stupid BMI doesn't exist I am glad that things do get sorted!

Anyway, enough ranting - GOOD LUCK!

Hi all

peju - hope the clomid regulates your cycles (obviously hope af doesn't come at all!).

clairebear - I think its very much down to the person you see, rather than even the area you live in. I think the drs tend to use their discretion a bit, so hopefully yours will be one of them!

I have my ultrasound scan on Thurs (day 11) to see what the state of play is. DH has reported that I've been grumpy and I've felt quite a few twinges, but other than that I haven't noticed it much. I'll be interested to see what they say at the scan as I (and my clearblue monitor) think I ovulate late (day 16 in a 26 day cycle) but the consultant tells me that's not possible, so I guess we'll see!

Does anyone know - if the scan shows I'm not about to ovulate any time soon, will they ask me to come back next week for another scan?

clairebear88 · 23/09/2008 19:10

hi all

hope your all doin ok

peju - i have heard that clomid regulates longer periods but i have always been 27-29 days so mine didnt change.
Fingers crossed you may be a lucky one

I cant wait for my fertility app next fri but am worried as my mate went yesterday and she was told unless your bmi is 30 or under you dont get treatment on the nhs. I am going to a differnet hospital but in the next town so not sure if this rule covers an area. I feel so sorry for her as she has pcos so finds it really hard to lose it anyway. I am not sure if i have anything wrong yet but defo find it hard to shift the weight.
oh well i suppose ill wait till next week and find out.

Any other news from anyone as its very quiet at the mo???

peju25 · 23/09/2008 09:39

Hi all - well im on cd28 and no sign of af yet - am sure it will arrive although no signs yet (you wait after typing this it will hit me with a vengence!!) im usualy 35 - 42 days and i know a lot of you say clomid can regulate you so not really sure when to expect it. Still a small part of me hopes i wont!
Hope you all ok.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 22/09/2008 11:53

Hi sarashy

Re your comments;-

Many women have a retroverted uterus and this is not usually a reason for conception problems.

Are your periods usually this painful?. What are your periods like generally speaking?.

Think you are wise to seek a second opinion.
You will need to be persistant in order to get answers - it is all too easy to be fobbed off.

Attila

hi all not been on for a while,
Well this month (after last months week late) af started early and i think is my worst one since i was a kid. DH is still reluctantly taking his multi vits (lol, he says they make him smell, i think its just him). I am still drinking grapefruit juice, and multivits. I also had some reiki from one of the midwifes at work which was really weird.she said i have a retroverted uterus, which i seem to remember the first nurse who did my smear telling me, so perhaps thats why i cant get pg. Plus i have decided to ask for a second opinion and try and be insistant about going on clomid. (fingers crossed).

cam75 · 19/09/2008 15:05

all the symtoms you are getting are like pg, which is why i get confused as a pcos suffer i get sore boobs, feeling extremely tired??? when the nurse says that to me i say i tick all the boxes!!!!
Even though i have not been taking it this month i have been getting a bit of hot flushes??
Good luck ladies i will join you again next month

wishinanhopin · 19/09/2008 14:43

Hey girls.
My first time on Clomid too and I heard ya Peju Hot flashes, exhaustion and cramping. AMEN!!!Thanks for the confirmation clairbear
I was hoping the tiredness and cramping might mean pregnancy, but I know from reading the clomid symptoms are the exact same as pg symptoms, so it can be confusing!!

Baby dust to all we'll get through this!!!!

Heebeejeebee · 19/09/2008 13:06

Hi Peju

This is my first month too! I was going to say I hadn't had any side effects except tiredness, but DH told me last night I was definitely moody..

Interesting to hear they last all month though - I was wondering about that..

Fingers crossed for your 2WW!
