Sorry for the multiple posts but the only things I can see not recommended in pregnancy are manky cheeses and pate which I'm not a big fan of anyway. Any others?

AbstractMouse · 26/07/2008 22:38

Exactly what are the foods that you can't eat when pregnant btw, I kind of glanced at a list last time but didn't take much notice.

AbstractMouse · 26/07/2008 22:35

I just carry on as normal during the 2ww, says she of little experience, I am currently in the 3rd month of not trying to concieve dc3. We had 2 months of oopsie moments which made me us realise we want dc3.

We had a talk and decided to ttc this month, on the day of ovulation pain no less, we dtd that day, so I'm not holding out much hope.

I concieved dd on the day of ov without trying wewerepissed (was a real shock, she wasn't planned)

Ds ws concieved the 1st month of not using condoms but no timed bd, so no experience of real ttc. I am quite excited really, obviously if it takes forever I will change my attitude lol.

I think you're right BB. Although I think I had too much last week too. I guess that if both you and your partner drink alchohol it probably just reduces your chances of coneiving too, as well as potentially harming the baby? It's not possible to live as if you might be pregnant for 2 weeks every month though. So hard too when period arrives and you think of what you've missed!

So - being nosy now - BB - you're trying to conceive dc2? From what I can gather, I'm in a very similar situation although we've not been TTC no. 2 for so long.) DD was conceived very (rather too)easily! I therefore never had to go throught all this TTC palava. And it's tough mentally! Let's hope this is our month.

I don't know - I have been trying for so long that I have really let standards slip. I used to spend the entire post ov period not drinking, not eating all the "not when you're pg" foods, (2 weeks out of every month for 1.5 years). Now I am thinking, "I conceived ds without realising it, got fairly tipsy a couple of weeks into the pgy (still didn't know)" and so the odd glass (here and there) is probably not the end of the world - although all the preconceptual care books I have say "don't do it!".

I have the odd glass of wine now and again because I can't put my entire life on hold for the mere possibility of getting pg - but I wouldn't get totally wallied iykwim!

Welocme Abstract Mouse and blue butterfly. I am glad we are all waiting together!

Well I have had a busy day, and no testing has occured. (I have no tests so that helps too.) I am going to try to hold out till next Sat at least. Now I need to plan the busiest 7 days ever to pass the time in between.

No experience of cheap tests personally - sorry Abstract Mouse. Do you mean the dip stick ones? I have heard they are all pretty accurate though.

Such a gorgeous day! Did you all have fun in the sun?

What do you all do about drinking alchohol when TTC? I am still enjoying it (just been on holiday and such gorgeous weather it's hard not too.) It does feel a bit weird when TTC though, but then again, it might take a ong while and that would mean not drinking 'just in case.' Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Good luck all. I have the big vaguely achy boobs again this month and a bit more cm than usual but thats about it.

I'm not bothered about symptoms though had loads with dd and none with ds.

Does anyone have experience of the cheap tests?

mrsleroyjethrogibbs · 26/07/2008 15:25

hmm symptoms havent been much me thinks. Needing to wee perhaps a bit more and feeling a bit queasy and off caffine, but tbh that is more than likely me imagining things. I dont think we are pg this cycle as tbh we havent dtd enough times. nevermind, its kind of fun trying

Bluebutterfly · 26/07/2008 14:20

I am due more or less around the same time (cycle irregular). After 1.5 years of trying, I have moved beyond the urge to do "early" pg tests - always costly cos you end up testing several times that month, and (in my experience) frequently disappointing . I would urge you not to!

But I am happy to cyber-hand hold for the next week with you!

AbstractMouse · 26/07/2008 14:13

Hi, I think I'm due on the 1st or 2nd of August, just got the internet cheapies I ordered and I stupidly did one lol. Not like it would be even slightly possible to get a bfp 7dpo

LaLaBingBong · 26/07/2008 12:18

Yey - and now there are two! Testing early is so tempting though! Let's be strong from now on! Any symptom spotting going on?

Are there only 2 of us out there?

i will join you. although I foolishly tested early. my cycle is due up on the 31st july, so I am with you

LaLaBingBong · 26/07/2008 09:37

Well done Happy. I shall try and resist the test. Good luck to you too!

HappyNewYearFeet06 · 26/07/2008 08:58

Don't test, resist!!!!

Sorry I had to say it! The last bit of waiting is horrible. I am due tomorrow so have finally got through my last week.

Good luck to you and everyone who joins you on this thread.
