Hi all,

We are trying for another baby and this morning I did a test. It was negative. However when I went to throw it away, there was the most faint line - I had to hold it to the light but there it was! I have looked this up and says about evaporation lines. Has anyone else experienced this and had a positve test the next time? Fingers crossed! Thanks

Hunnie - Been thinking about you today so are you?

Jackstini · 24/07/2008 16:54

So Hunnie are you definitely pg now...?

Humphries · 22/07/2008 22:44

I'm looking for some baby dust too x

Hunnie I am getting cramping pains too. I haven't tested yet as waiting for DH birthday 1st August to test, as I told DH we were expecting first baby on his birthday thought it would be nice to do again if we are. Not getting hopes up tho.

Heebychick · 22/07/2008 21:12

Congratulations Hunnie !!! my advice to you is to live each day with the love and excitement of being pregant, don't think about what might happen, be positive and take good care of yourself.

If something is meant to happen it will happen, so be happy and enjoy!

By the way i'm symptom spotting and praying until Friday when i can test!!

Throw some baby dust on me guys! xx

saggers · 22/07/2008 20:24

Let us know how you get on. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Hunnie · 22/07/2008 16:59

Thanks Jackstini! Hopefully, the other one will be positive though. The amount I'm peeing today, either AM pg or water infection!!! That would be typical I am in Leicester.

I am in Notts.
Get that digital one bought - I shall be looking at 'first wee time' tomorrow morning to see if you have done it!!

Hunnie · 22/07/2008 14:11

I'm taking hope from these positive faint lines. Too scared to get a digital one! . Know I should really. Will finish up my Asda one later and if still faint, get a digital one. Thanks. Where does everone live by the way?

Hunnie - I know they are expensive but get a digital one. It will read 'pregnant' or 'not pregnant' and you shall doubt no more...
Good luck - dd was a faint line and is now 2.4

2notenuff · 22/07/2008 14:00

I get ya

take care x

Hunnie · 22/07/2008 13:58

Would be nice to hear all "I ams" wouldn't it? . The only thing I keep saying is what is meant to be will be, but deep down I don't think that? Do you know what I mean? Confusing I know.

I should know that really. With our little girl, I got up in the night and took some tablets cos I had cramps and my cramps used to be extremely severe, so I tried to catch it. The next day, no period, did test and 5 and half years later, precious daughter! With our second pregnancy same thing really. But this time, just think someone is taunting me, you know, because we want it soooo badly.

Very common to have cramps in early pregnancy.

Hunnie · 22/07/2008 13:29

Hi Humprhies. The one I did last night is still there, but now got the pre-menstrual crampy feeling. Going to do another one tonight. Feel so confused!! Have got my hopes I am afraid; sure my period is going to come, so shouldn't have done. Can't help it though can you? Going to ring docs in a mo to go and have test there. x

i did one at lunch time found the faint line 3 hours later then tested again that evening with a more expensive test. still faint as was only 4.5 weeks gone but on visit to docs he said it was positive x

Hunnie · 21/07/2008 22:36

I hope so Humphries. Glad it worked out for you. Did you only do the one test?

Humphries · 21/07/2008 22:32

Sounds like congrats are in order x

Do another tomorrow I am guessing the line will get darker x

Hunnie · 21/07/2008 22:27

I can't believe this is so common! Heebychick, that makes sense what you say. Sat test was so faint hardly noticed at first. Yesterday was bit clearer and just did one ten mins ago; the faintest line appeared within the first minute so I know isn't an evaporation line. Am excited now, but know from experience things don't always work out, but so hard not to get hopes up. I have never had a line before when it has been negative; an evaporation line. Never even heard of them til Sat. Aunt Flo! That's great !. Still not au fait with all the other abbrevs but daresay I will pick them up. Hopefully like bluesky and humphries and saggers, mine will be positive. x

I had such a faint line on my test, that I didn't really think it was there - hard to decide if I was imagining it. But baby Tim is now 15 months.

Good luck

Humphries · 21/07/2008 20:57

I had a very faint line appear after picking up my test to through away 3 hours after peeing on it! And I now have 12 week old upstairs in bed. Sounds positive to me.

I agree with MelT76 buy adigital clearblue test which spells it out for you no mistaking it then.

Let us know x

saggers · 21/07/2008 20:41

I had a ridiculously faint line with DD2. Phoned the test company's helpline, who said if there was any line at all, then it's positive. It was so faint that at first I thought it was blank.
Good luck.

Heebychick · 21/07/2008 20:30

Hi Hunnie an AF is Aunt Flo as in period, i wasn't sure of the abbreviations but i think i've guessed most of them now!

Are you having any symptoms?

I think in a day or two, get a good, reputable test and do it first thing in the morning.

Then if you are sure you are pregnant maybe speak to a Dr to make sure things are developing well - the Hormones should be doubling (apprx.) each day so the line should (in theory) get stronger each day.

Hunnie · 21/07/2008 20:01

Sorry to sound ignorant, welshlinz, but what is AF? I am new on here and not quite sure of all the abbreviations. I am two days later for my period. Long time for me. Although in February was early and March early April late only one day. Due to stress I was told by doctor. Last two months on time - 28 day cycle. Now this again.
