Have you ever had a implantation bleed, when your af was due and how long did it last?

Thought I was pregnant, af came day late but only lasted 2.5 days, think I got an evaporation line the morning af came. so faint you had to tilt it to the light.

My period has not stopped, I still feel pregnancy symptoms but not sure if they are in my head.

I normally have a 7 day period.

If you were my would you test tomorrow or am I just being stupid?

Could there be another reason for this short period?

Also if you get an evaporation line does that mean the test was just neg or that the test was faulty and that you should do it again?

Hi, I'm looking fir some advice

On 14th December 2023, I miscarried, was about 5ish weeks, I had bleeding for 10 days during this time

7th January 2024, I had sharp stomach ans side pains, lasted for few minutes, no bleeding

9th January had bleeding lasted 4 days

23rd,24th,25th,26th,27th had pink spotting only when wipe on loo roll

13th Feb bleeding started again, but I'm sure it's late by 7 days, will update on how long the bleeding lasts

I'm so confused, as I'd been extremely tired, bloated, nauseous, sore head,cramping, had done pregnancy test Sunday 11th, it's negative

Any ideas I'd appreciate them

EXCITING!!!

Ttc is never boring. Please dont feel let down if you are not because like you said its your first go and it does not happen that easy to most. So use this time to practice not spending loads of money on tests and self restraint techiniques by not testing every day up to your period

Hey Babytime,

My AF is due on the 23rd, so a week today...

It's so hard isn't? I'm really trying not to build my hopes up and with any symptoms, passing them off as something else, when deep inside, I really want to be PG. It would be amazing though since first month of trying and I'm 34... but I guess stranger things have happened

PS: Haven't bought any tests yet and I'm trying to hold out until next week. If I do get my AF, I may still test anyway because some people do have AFs in the first month anyway. These cramps have gone on too long to be nothing I'm thinking....

I know what you mean.

My bleeding started a day after my af was due, yours started before yours is due so looks more like an implantation bleed.

Right now I am trying to not go and buy another test. We are really short this month with money so it would be selfish of me. But I feel so tired and queasy today and yesterday I forgot to say that I had dizzy spells. The bleeding stopped last night and pad totally dry clean this morning so I think that was the end of that period.

My friend did say yesterday that her gp said our periods can suddenly change for no reason. This has been particuaraly strange though.

I know my high street sell cheap tests for £2.99 so I might buy just one of those on the weekend and if I feel like this still in a few days I will test with FMU - imagine if I was pregnant that would be almost 6 weeks, period and lots of neg tests... looks impossible - why am I so silly

Whats your af due date again - cant see on this page now, will have a look. Keep me updated

Hi Babytime,

Well, it's day three now of the cramps but still no sign of AF. In fact the CM that was slightly brown tinged on Sunday, Monday and part of yesterday is now nowhere in sight and is actually a yellowy colour and much thinner than my usual CM that I get before AF. Surely if AF was about to come the CM would be even more coloured?

So I really am hoping on this one that it was an Implantation Bleed. Mandy, on one of the other threads that got her BFP last week had AF type cramps from about DPO 4.

I don't know about you but I keep going to the toilet just to check that AF hasn't arrived!! How sad am I?!

Well - definitely fingers crossed for one of us!!

Are you ttc1?

With my 1st I had no symptoms and even had a period (am i repeating myself?) and dd2 I had every symptom in the book so you never really know.

I feel like I have repeated myself so much over the last weeks I am driving myself mad

Thanks Babytime, I just find that your mind plays tricks on you...

Like, I came off the pill in April and I've had 3 regular periods since, but I'm starting to doubt my dates, even though I've written them on a calendar!!

I have to admit that other than queasy feelings, the cramps and the bleeding, I haven't really had much else. But then most people don't get symptoms (apparently) for about 6 weeks so I'm not going to worry too much about that...

I think start to think, well if I do get my AF at normal time (next week) aswell as this bleeding, then is there something wrong because I bled in between my AFs. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait and see!!

Anyway, off to bed now. I spent a night of no sleep with my friend last night because her 2 year old spent the night screaming and I was staying at her place.... [yawn yawn]

DawnAS - that really does sound promising.

Especially because its happening now when your period is not due. Very exciting. I reckon you must be - dont want to get your hopes up though so try and carry on as normal and dont do a me and waste tests in the days leading up to your af due date. Wait for the day and test then.

Tonight my period has stopped again and my tummy looks swollen. I still have various symptoms too. I have times throughout the day when I tell myself I am not pregnant this month and try to forget it then I have a queasy feeling or a tingling nipple or cramp and the thoughts of that just maybe I could be creep back - AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH!

I think the stakes are higher with you so keep me updated

We seem to be having exactly the same thing!!

As I mentioned, I'm not due AF until 23rd but I had browny/red CM on Sunday evening. On Monday morning really low abdominal cramps, like AF was coming and went to the loo and wiped myself (sorry about TMI) and there was browny blood but very light... Then (really TMI sorry), you know sometimes if you're wiping yourself when it's AF time and if you're quite heavy you see the drops of blood going into the loo, well there was just a couple of drops of brown blood in the loo. Since then, nothing yesterday afternoon and then 4am this morning, back to browny/red CM again and a few drops of brown blood. Also AF type cramps again this morning. But this afternoon, CM back to normal colour...

I've heard that loads of people do have what they think are AFs at their normal time and they turn out to be PG, so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed, but it is a bit strange... The main reason that I'm keeping my feet on the ground is that I do get browny CM for 2 or 3 days before AF normally, but not normally a week early!!

I know - it so silly!

Today I had no bleeding at all then this evening when making dinner I felt it begin again.

It was brown and now gone back to red but still light.

I am just going to think of it as a period and if its not then I will find out soon enough

In the mean time I will TRY and go on as normal.

I have no tests left and I am not going to buy any either for at least a week

good luck babytime. I know how hard it is to focus on something else while you wait - especially when the situation isn't clear.

DH and I were just saying last night how blo*dy hard you try NOT to get pregnant and how relieved you are when the AF comes - how things have changed!!

babytime - try to stop peeing on sticks if you can it's expensive unless you buy cheapies from ebay

you are best to wait until the morning and use the first pee of the day as the hormone should be more concentrated then

That's so wierd - not surprised you're fed up. Why don't you give it a couple of days and maybe test again? You know your body best, if you think AF wasn't like it normally is then maybe something is going on?

I remember when I was first pg with ds, I thought I'd started my AF - had v light bleeding for a couple of days but then nothing. Didn't put two and two together until a few days later (when I was seeing silver stars) and then did a test, which was +ve.

Hope you get an answer soon - it must be driving you mad!

Monkeybumsmum - just copied what i wrote just now on another thread im on

Right i've had it up to here with tests.

Just used FR and after a couple of minutes, a second line started to appear - you had to really squint to see it in light of the window. But about 10 mins later could not see it.

Another evaporation line? Two in a pack? Both evaporation lines?

Anyway BFN, period stopped and so it looks like my period was 2.5 days long this month instead of 7 days.

Is there something wrong with me then?

I'm so fed up!!!

Hi babytime, I had an implantation bleed this time that lasted three days, but was very light. Looked on the net and it said they can last up to three days, so maybe that is what you had?

Would imagine that if your test came up with a faint line a few days ago then if you were pg it would be stronger now. I used cheapy strip tests, and the strength of the line changed within 24 hours. Not sure if those are what you're using?

Hi babytime,

One thing I forgot to mention earlier, my friend (who's having her second baby in August - lucky thing...) said that two of her closest friends had short AFs around the normal time of AF so assumed that they weren't pregnant.

I've read on the internet today (sorry, I can't remember where now) that it can be quite common to have an "almost" normal period in the first month and still be pregnant, so as much as you need to keep your feet on the ground, there could still be a chance...

Just been to the loo and absolutely nothing - clean pad.

I have one test left in the house.

If I was pregnant I do not have to worry about the HCG levels being strong enough now do i?

So i can test anytime of the day right?

Honestly dont worry about it - sometimes you just need to be told

I know I am 90% not but I just have this feeling that i may. I guess in four days time when I see a BFN I will accept it then and move on.

It just irritates me that my period can not just arrive, be a normal period and then go away.

my head is just being messed with.

I had one with DC2, lasted less than a day

I think I may have just had another one, I thought my period was starting Friday, was still spotting on Saturday but all stopped now and got a v faint positive on an ebay test today

can you see a line?

i had an implantaion bleed with dd2 which i thought was the start of my period but it only lasted a day then i got a + test 4 days later(cheap tests though).

i had spotting for 3 weeks on and off with dd3.

if the line has even a tiny hint of colour its usually a faint +.(IME)

Hello beanieb - no the line appeared after a couple of minutes. It was definitley there but sounded just like an evaporation line.

The other tests I done were the days leading up to my period.

I know i'm probably being stupid. But I have read posts on here from people who did not get positives until they were five or six weeks or who like myself had as period when pregnant. This happened with my first and I had no symptoms and only found out when abour 8 weeks pregnant so I am not sure if i would of tested postive around the time of 4 weeks.

I think I will see what happens tomorrow, if my period has not started then 2.5 days is not right and i will test again.

Maybe I have stopped it myself with all this thinking. Wish i could forget about it for at least 10 mins and DO SOME BLOODY WORK

i had brownish spotting for a day or two with ds, then nothing. my friend had what she thought was a period but turned out she had been preg already at that point when she was scanned.

it differs alot from one woman to another. i'd test in a few days just so you're not driving yourself mad.
