Crikey, I waffled so much and yet forgot to say that I've been offered a new role within my current company! I turned down the original job offer (totally new career path in a photography studio - fab but not right with our baby dreams) so played the career game with my company and they have bettered the offer moneywise and given me a new role to boot! Haven't agreed yet but will be moved up to 'Assistant Buyer' for the entire company... Woohoo! In current climate this is much more secure long term and will give me a much better maternity package (obviously I haven't been this candid with my employers!).

Hi to everyone I missed in my mammouth post before

PicknMix · 21/10/2008 21:58

Evening all,

MrsH I'm sorry to read about the bfn but you do know that 1) it possibly doesn't count as you didn't use fmu and 2) sadly it is possible to get a temp shift without ovulating. I'm sure it happens to me all the time - my temp charts look more like the Rock Mountains. But I think that might be more to do with [suspected] PCOS in my case. I think sadly its a case of 'wait and see' for you again this month. Sorry, I'm no help whatsoever, I do really feel for you though as I can only imagine how difficult this is for you after the last few months. Biggest higs xx

MOB I'm sooooooooooooo excited for you!!! Yay for a good scan and even bigger YAY for an ok first injection!! I think it was Caitni who said keep your eyes on the prize - positive thoughts through the twice nightly injections for you!

Caitni my kitchen table it looking lovely in place now! I hasten to add that the £200ish we were going to spend was on a second hand one from eBay as living the 'reclaimed' life (I believe 'reclaimed' is far more fashionable than 2nd hand nowadays isn't it!?) is deffo a lifestyle choice for us - why buy new when you can make use of somebody elses cast offs? Literally everything we own, furniture wise, is 'pre-loved', incl. cooker/fridge etc! Oooooh, I'm off on a waffle now but its a subject fairly close to my heart! We are regulars on the Freecycle website - you should check it out!

Anyway, only a week to go for you - make sure you hide those pregnancy tests so you aren't taunted by them to test early. Have high hopes for you this month lady...

How many days is your lp usually RFN2? I've seen that Sperm Meets Egg plan - would love to partake but my cycles are hidiously erratic so I would end up spending a fortune on opks

Hope your supper was nice JB!! Ei are you ok??? Did I read correct that you are one of the ladies who contributed to this article? Brilliant piece of writing with some very valid points in. Have to say my experience when I miscarried was actually very positive (in terms of NHS care) but the EPAC unit I was at has now been shut down which is the BIGGEST loss to my local hospital as the nurses there were fantastic. I know that my experience is probably not the norm for everybody though. Hope you're ok - has DH found a job yet? Did af make an appearance? Hope not xx

Hi to everyone else - I've waffled an extreme amount this evening and haven't cooked my supper yet so am super hungry (although have been snacking on my Nigella inspired home cooked Rocky Road, yum!).

Quick cycle update - CD 40 today, am doing copious amounts of knicker checking, boob prodding (they're VERY sore but thats not change from most months). Back has started hurting so am expecting af tomorrow or thursday. Did a test this a.m - bfn natch so no hope left here....

MrsHappy · 21/10/2008 20:24

Hi all

Well I did test just because I figured it is probably best to know either way, and I got a BFN. I am strangely a little pleased because I have some commitments in 2 weeks that will clash badly with hospital visits!

Now I've just got to find out where my wretched period has gone. Do you think it is possible to have a temp shift and yet not ovulate?

JollyBear · 21/10/2008 17:42

Hello ladies,

MrsH I completely understand why you don't want to test but your chart sure looks promising. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you till Saturday.

MOB Golly, things are really kicking off now. How very exciting. Good luck with the injections - do you feel any different?

caitni Good luck with not testing! Your chart looks lovely too

Sorry for not saying hello to everyone but my teas ready and I'm so hungry . Big to everyone.

Caitni · 21/10/2008 15:23

I totally understand your fears about testing - wait til you get 18 high temps and then think about it. That would take you up to Saturday-ish and should rule out the risk of a CP.

MrsHappy · 21/10/2008 12:29

No, and I sort of don't want to.
It's a combination of fear re chem pregs, concern (if I am up the duff) re planning scans/surgery etc around work again (so soon!) when I have so much on, not wanting to start that dreadful limbo of not knowing if all is ok (inconclusive scans, repeat HCG bloods etc etc) and getting bollocked by the doctors when they realise I have not exactly complied with their rules...

I may just put my fingers in my ears and say "la la la la la"

Caitni · 21/10/2008 11:43

oh MrsH, have you tested yet? This must be so stressful for you but try not to worry too much. You've been through the wringer this year, but the statistics of having a healthy pregnancy are overwhelmingly on your side. Didn't the consultant who handled your last EP say he fully expected to see you with a healthy pregancy within months?

Feel free to come on here and rant/rambling/obsess as much as you want. We're here to listen. to you xx

MrsHappy · 21/10/2008 11:03

Yes, temp is still a little high.
Cramps have gone.
No more spotting.
Am terrified either way.
Sorry, self-absorbed, but really am bricking it.

Caitni · 21/10/2008 10:31

Morning ladies

MOB so glad the first injection went well, though twice nightly injections does sound like a lot. Just think of those egg follicles growing though! I hope that lots of eggs are collected

MrsH how's things this morning? Your temp is looking nice and high! Am getting cautiously excited for you...

RFN2 I'm the exact same with the tender boobs every month! Still let it convince me sometimes though try hard to remember it's more a sign I've ov'ed than anything else . Since your DS was a surprise, I think there's a v good chance you'll get a bfp soon - like maybe even in a few days!! But if not then that sperm meets egg thing does look good (and bet your DH would love it )

Big hello to everyone else - Ei did your AF show up in the end? PnM hope you're enjoying your new kitchen table [smile} and to Bucky (are you in NYC yet?) JG (hope you're not working too hard and [whispers] I'd love if you got broadband at home as I'd love to hear your news!) Mibbes JB and anyone I've forgotten.

I'm 6dpo and despite MOB's hopes that it's an implantation dip, I think this morning's lower temp was more that I woke up with the duvet off me ...though we definitely covered all bases by bd-ing more than usual this month so expect lots of tww madness from me over the next few days! AF is due Mon/Tue and FF's given me a test date of next Tues 28 Oct. Have decided to not test early this month so shall see if I stick to my guns on that

readyfornum2 · 21/10/2008 09:57

MOB Glad the injections arent too bad Its quite exciting following your journey and I really hope it is a success for you x

MRSHAPPY Hope things are good for you, any signs of a bfp? Dont really understand temping but I hope it is an implantation dip

CAITNI I hope that things are good for you too x It would be fab if we had a load of BFPS this month

PnM How are you doing? Is af still staying away for you?

Well its 9DPO for me and still no symptoms to spot! My boobs are still tender but I know full well that they are like this every month so not getting excited about that.

Its hard because DS was a suprise I dont really know what my early symptoms were with him! The only thing that I can remember is that they day after I got my bfp my nipples were agony to touch, I had no sickness or anything so perhaps the fact I have no symptoms is a good thing

I think that next month we will try the sperm meets egg thing, after have a read through it, it sounds quite good (if not tiring lol) and I am sure that I can persuade DP to take part

Madoldbird · 21/10/2008 08:45

Morning ladies

MrsH Couldn't help peeking at your chart again (I am more obsessed with other people's cycles than my own ) and your temp is still high, isn't it? Looking again, i have a feeling you may have ov'd a day later than FF say (as i think you may have mentioned yesterday) Still looking good though...

Caitni Had a peek at your chart too! Looks like you may be heading down for an implantation dip??! I really hope it is (Am not trying to encourage obsessive symptom spotting, honest )

Good morning to everyone else - hope you are all well.

I managed my first injection last night, with no problems. TBH, the thought of it is actually worse than doing it. From tonight onwards it will be two injections a night. I am just willing those follicles to grow nicely!

MrsHappy · 20/10/2008 22:37

Hm, then I might be late. Oooooo.
I don't normally have spotting.

I've just been going on to my DH about how nice it is to be getting my period and not to have twinges on the right side of my tum. Sorry if TMI but before the op I used to get sharp pains even when I had a poo right before my period, so I can't help thinking that tube was a mess or getting squashed or something. Anyway I was happy to be having normal period cramps and now I am thinking "what if they're not period cramps?" (and I MUST NOT get my hopes up at all, I'm sure if I do my nasty period will show up later tonight). You're right that I should discuss the spotting with someone if it happens again. Sorry, am rambling, but am finding today a bit confusing. Have just checked and my cervix is v high too.

Aaaargggghhhhhh!

Caitni · 20/10/2008 22:16

MrsH I'm inclined to agree with FF for when you ov'd, based on the other signs like + opk, as I often get a smaller temp rise followed by a proper temp rise. The spotting could well be implantation (sorry, I can't stop looking on the bright side for you) so your temp may only start to really rise from tomorrow once implantation's taken place. If AF does show up then the spotting is definitely something to discuss with mr needles. It could just be your body settling down after your lap surgery, but mr needles sorted out my pre-AF spotting a good bit.

MrsHappy · 20/10/2008 21:21

Caitni I agree with your interpretation of when you ovulated, even allowing for the fiddling. TBH I think I may have ovulated a day after FF thinks, so I might not actually be due until tomorrow. But then I would have had spotting since about 10 or 11 dpo and that would be depressing...

Caitni · 20/10/2008 19:53

MOB oh I'm so happy to hear the scan went well! Hope you're proud of your good-looking ovary . I kind of hadn't realised you'd be injecting so soon - that is very exciting, but also makes it all so real. As MrsH said, you could be pregnant in a few weeks! God, I'm going to have finger cramp from all the finger crossing I'll be doing

MrsH I'm also a chart obsessive - hope this is my chart here. I did fiddle a little, as CD 11's temp was about 0.1 higher than I have it here (as you can see, obsessive ). Your temps are still a reasonable bit above the coverline, and, while I know the coverline's a visual tool only, that's a good sign. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you too missy!

RFN2 I'm glad to hear you had a lovely weekend! And I hope AF stays away - MrsH is right, lots of women think AF's on its way and it's actually the womb getting geared up for a nice healthy pregnancy - I'm hoping you're one of those women!!

MrsHappy · 20/10/2008 18:43

Oh wow MOB. Did they give you lessons on how to inject? Are you nervous about doing it? I am quite needle-phobic but I reckon that if I end I doing IVF I will get over my phobia pretty quickly. So glad that the scan went well and that you have a good looking ovary. Bet the other one is just as good! Just think - 3 weeks from now you could be pregnant!

Don't give up hope, RFN2. When I conceived my daughter I was absolutely convinced that I was getting my period and then it never showed up. Not feeling pregnant doesn't mean anything and I still have my fingers crossed for you.

Caitni I love the camper van idea and am a bit . Can you post your chart so I can have a nosy? Am a bit chart obsessive. BTW, I did have a look at FF charts this evenign but ones like mine are few and far between. I think my period is on its way but that maybe I ovulated a little later than FF thinks. Am cramping all over the place and have been spotting for a couple of days already which is v unusual for me. think this migth be quite a bad one when it shows up...

I'm so impressed with the thrift PnM. I am quietly crossing things for you too. It does only take the once, y'know, especially when your DH has super sperm...

Madoldbird · 20/10/2008 16:05

Good afternoon everyone

shreks lovely to see you as always I love it that you always pop back to see us. i can't believe that it is only a few weeks to go until you go to oz. I am still holding out hope that you will get a really inconvenient BFP! (So when you go and get that new sack of babydust, make sure you throw some over yourself too...)

EI Was it CD1 for you yesterday?? Of course i hope not. Whatever, i hope you are ok, and i am sure that the next few months will herald a reversal of fortunes in your ttc journey!

MrsH LOL at your hangover cure! I didn't realise wispas were around again. Hope you are fully recovered today. I peeked at your chart again, as you say, your temps are still above the cover line, so i really hope your period doesn't show today.

PnM Wow, am impressed with your kitchen table - what a bargain! I'm pleased you have had the blood test already, try not to worry about the results, as that dr sounds good, and will surely refer you even if the results appear normal. Am also very slightly excited that you are CD39...keep us posted!

Caitni Sounds like you had a lovely weekend. Great plan to hire a camper van and go away next Easter. I think it's important to always have something nice like that in the pipeline to look forward to! Glad you have booked a GP appt and that you are exploring all the options.

RFN" I'm sorry to hear that you think it is all over this month. Don't give up hope though - and if it is bad news, don't forget we are here to spur you on for the next cycle!

Well i am back from my first scan. It all went fine (despite me spending half the night awake worrying that they would find something terrible ) My womb lining was very thin (which is what they want at this stage) One of my ovaries was visible and looked good. She couldn't find the other one, which she said is quite normal, as at this stage they are not very easy to find. As you can imagine i am now worrying that i have spent all my life with one ovary However she said the one she could see has more that enough follicles to produce the required number of eggs. The scan was uncomfortable and undignified (internal scan whilst still bleeding quite heavily) but was fine. I have now come away with all my drugs and start injecting tonight . I really am having IVF!!! I have another scan in a week to see how the follicles are growing, and if i respond well, then egg collection may possibly be a week on Friday, or failing that, the following Monday.

readyfornum2 · 20/10/2008 14:25

Hi all hope you are all doing well

We have had a good weekend and had a lovely meal out and did some shopping.
My boobs are quite tender at the moment but that is a usual for me and apart from that I have no other symptoms.
I think I am going to regret saying that I feel pg because I dont anymore and have a feeling that af will arrive bang on time

Caitni · 20/10/2008 14:04

Hi ladies

RFN2 well, sounds like your DH is doing his best to make up for his splurge! Hope you had a good meal yesterday

Mibbes I think that any woman who takes longer than a month or two gets at the news of others' pregnancy!

MOB am thinking of you today with your scan - fingers firmly crossed it shows that it's all systems go with the stimulation phase!! Can't wait to hear about it when you log on and catch up xx

Shreksmissus so sorry to hear about your anniversary and am hoping that sod's law works for you and you're nice and nauseous with morning sickness when you head down under!

Ei sorry to hear AF arrived...it's always horrible when that happens. I'm glad you're being positive about your future chances - I think you'll get a nice BFP before too long and your consultant will make sure the bean sticks xx

PnM wow at your thrift! I love things like that - we decided to only source second hand furniture where possible when we moved to Brighton in the summer and we've found some real bargains (including cool 60s g plan dining table, matching chairs and nest of tables for less than £100 - checking out what they sell for on ebay made us feel v smug!!). I know what you mean about checking things like due dates and early preg symtoms - i used to do that loads when starting out and now just not really bothered...figure it'll happen when it happens (having said this I do still obsess about symtoms!). Let us know how you get on with the results on Wed xx

MrsH have you been comparing your charts to preg charts on FF? That's what I'd be (obsessively!) doing if I were you as temps can affected by so many things - sleeping with your mouth open or the covers slipping off. If AF stays away (hope it does!!) then I think you're wise to wait til 18 high temps. Not sure if I'd have the willpower myself . I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

to Bucky JG JB and all our other pregnant ladies and any other lurkers!

Well, I had an excellent weekend. My brother and his boyfriend were over because of a VW camper van rally that was at the seafront (they're thinking of buying one) and twas fab! Myself and my DH are now planning to hire an old camper van and go away to Cornwall or Wales or somewhere at Easter. I know it seems ages away but I love having holidays/weekends away planned! I also, rather smugly, managed to stay on the non-drinking wagon and am now actively enjoying not drinking (I seriously thought I'd never type that!!).

For the first time, Fertility Friend moved my ov date a bit this month - from CD 10 to CD 12 - and, also for the first time, I decided to override the wonder that is FF and make it CD 11. I never normally fiddle with temps, but I am almost convinced that CD 11 (my usual day) was the day I ov'ed this month. Doesn't really matter I suppose, but am going to have to bear it in mind in case I'm a little late this month (which would make my ov date later).

And in other news, we've also booked in to see our GP on 1st Nov to talk about ttc (gulp! am nervous already...). We're planning to go to a couple of open evenings at fertility clinics in Nov, so want to explore what the NHS can offer us before rushing off to spend £££ on private treatment!

MrsHappy · 20/10/2008 07:39

Morning Ladies

Picknmix I reckon your GP sounds very clued up so hopefully she will get you where you need to be, regardless of the outcome of your blood tests. I would be nervous too I must say. Old habits die hard with the symptom spotting, hey? I have found it impossible to stop myself this cycle even though judging from my temps (compared to the last few times I have been pg) I am not pg, I know I ovulated on my bad side and we only had sex a couple of times around then.

Ei did your period show up or do you have something nice to tell us?

Caitni did you have a good weekend with your brothers?

I'm thinking of you today MOB

I hope all is well, RFN2, JG, Bucky and our lovely pregnant ladies.

My temp is still above the coverline albeit lower than I would expect if I were pregnant and I have a fair bit of cramping. I am at 14dpo and usually have a 13 day LP so am expecting my period today. If it stays away I am not going to test until 18 DPO because if I am a bit pregnant but it is failing (as could be indicated by my temps) I just do not want to know. I'd rather just have my period arrive and assume that I had a funny cycle.

BBL, have a good day. Don't forget to tell us how your scan went MOB.

PicknMix · 19/10/2008 18:11

Hello my fellow WIMBEWAI[N]F friends,

I've had a thrifty day at a carboot sale today - bought a kitchen table for a fiver (had previously been thinking of spending nearer £200ish for the same thing!) so am feeling smug and embracing of the credit crunch right now!

Had my blood test on wednesday so will wait for a week for the results - am nervous but for random reason that all will be fine and I wont be offered anything.

How you feeling now MrsH? Wispas are surely a cure all for most things, no? Very pleased they're back!! Will be waiting for your next post tomorrow - am not going to say anything more about it (except that I'm cautiously optimistic for you ).

Was lovely to 'see' you briefly Bucky! How is everything in Bucky Towers? Hope the doggies are behaving themselves?

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Mob during your baseline scan. So so excited for you!!

Ei am sorry to hear you've had quite a tough time recently what with your DH losing his job and then the anniversary of your miscarriage. You're sounding very upbeat though - did it turn into cd1 today? Hope not. Big higs to you.

Lovely to see you Shrek How are you? Is this the big move to Oz you've been planning for a while? Where in Oz are you going?

R4N2 glad to hear you and dh have made up. Having a 'good feeling' is considered a symptom in this thread so will have my fingers crossed for you

Hows the weekend going with your fav boys Caitni? Sounds like you had a tough time with those emails flying around. Only a few select people know we are ttc (although I'm gradually getting more and more open with friends as find the response 'we've been trying for nearly 2 yrs, suffered 1 mc and are currently waiting for a fertility referral' tends to shut up the most persistant of 'when are you 2 gonna have children then' questioners ).

Good to hear how you're getting on Mibbes and JB! Wow at how close its all getting!! Getting excited at the prospect of being a cyber auntie again

JG HOW ARE YOU??! Hope all is ok and things are good with you and MrJG? We miss you around here! Big higs!

Am currently cd39 and am getting a little bored of waiting for af to arrive. I'm expecting it to arrive next week sometime as have very sore boobs. The most annoying thing is that we managed to bed, just the once, when I had ewcm last week so I'm still symptom spotting even though the chances are EXTREMELY thin. Old habits die hard!

Was thinking about the fact that when we started this whole battle journey I was obsessive about working out possible due dates, constantly checking 'early pregnancy symptom lists' etc whereas now I just can't be bothered. Well, its more that the futility of it all is too painful. Ah well....

MrsHappy · 19/10/2008 11:43

OMG - I've just discovered that Wispas are a fantastic hangover cure. If only they hadn't been discontinued during my student days...

MrsHappy · 19/10/2008 11:35

Ei I'm sorry you think your period is coming. But we'll be cycle buddies from Monday and therefore guaranteed a pair of very very BIG fat positives.

Shreksmissus how lovely to see you. I was wondering where you had gone! I am very of your trip away. Where are you going? How long for? (Tries to have holidays vicariously)

I am feeling rough today having had an entire bottle of wine last night which is pretty unlike me these days. When we got home, my DD decided to wake up every hour screaming for me. She's now having a nap and I am wide awake. I'm not sure if it's the alcohol or what but my temp has gone up. I'm not going to test unless it is still high tomorrow though. I did have a wee bit of spotting yesterday (a pinky wipe really) but none since. All very strange...

Hello and higs to everyone else . I hope you're feeling less blurry than me!

EisGotASeveredHeadinherHandbag · 18/10/2008 19:45

hi ladies
mob im so happy things are moving along smoothly for you
shreksmissus lovely to see you where in aussie are you going??
mrshappy i hope your temp is just fooling you into a false sense of non-preggoness
i hope everyone else is doing well
so...not good news from me unfortunately it looks as if cycle 12 is upon me i started spotting earlier today and now it looks as if it is getting heavier so i will no doubt be on CD1 tomorrow im feeling quite philosophical about it to be honest the last 12 months have not brought me the best of luck so it is onwards and upwards from here i think
xx ei xx
