Ahhh, look how nice and clean and new this thread is .

And there is a big ScaryHairy birthday cake for us all to share. I am not being good till after Thursday afterall...

OP posts:
ScaryHairy · 16/07/2008 08:06

Morning
Good news - my temp has dropped.
Off to get fobbed off by the GP this afternoon.
See you all later.

ScaryHairy · 15/07/2008 18:44

GG The one on your forehead is to help you relax. Sometimes it makes me slur my words! LOL at TSB-like motto for sperm banks (TSB = Trusty Sperm Bank, possibly? ). I am seeing the GP tomorrow to ask for a referral. Not sure where it will get me but I just feel a bit abandoned. The hospital fix the ectopic and then send you home but I have a lot of questions. On the upside, at least we know I ovulate and that DH's swimmers work, so that's something.

(And how do you know I am not on commission? . Actually in these times of hyper inflation and credit crunch I rather wish I was...)

Tuesday might be a little tricky for me because there's something on at work, but I will do my best to fit both in.

Hi Mibbes how's the bump? I'm looking forward to getting cyber-auntie status too.

I hope your DH is ok now Lou. Perhaps there should be a "partners of WIMBEWAI(N)F members support group" at which they could compare depositing experiences...

Hope you're ok MOB and higs to you and also PicknMix, Bucky and Ei and anyone I have accidentally missed.

GorgonsGin · 15/07/2008 17:20

meet up - I'd suggest next Tuesday (22nd July) for the Exmouth Needlers meet up. I imagine that's Bucky, Scary, Caitni and Gorgon and anyone else in the vicinity. Really looking forward to it.

caitni - I was staring very hard at the girl in the waiting room and wondering if it was you, but clearly not at 4pm! She must have thought I was off my head.

lou - I didn't realise your DH was also making a deposit at the sperm test bank (the bank that likes to say "yes...yes..yes, yes, YES!!!!" ). Fingers crossed for a good result.

Accupuncture was interesting! very relaxing and he is ever so nice. Was slightly alarmed at needles in face and i have a fetching red blob on my forehead, but hey ho. I could feel everythig tingling through it

loustillwantsaBFPtoo · 15/07/2008 16:36

Hi girls, what a lot I missed!
Scary hugs for you.
MOB - I'm sorry it's not great news, but like you said 'it only takes 1' Thinking of you...
Ei - glad you got a response to your complaint, and they are going to help you now.
to Bucky GG PNM Caitni everyone i've missed and all you lurkers out there!

Mibbes - I cant think of a better christmas pressie! Hope everything is going well.

DH made his "deposit" this morning, so we are now waiting for those results now. Think he has 'recovered' now bless him...

Caitni · 15/07/2008 16:13

Exmouth Market Needlers - it has a certain ring to it me thinks...I'm off to my app at 4.45. I love that this guy is getting such a surge of great women and he doesn't even know the connection!

Mon, Tue or Wed all work for me next week - though if I had to pick one then Tuesday. I'm very much looking forward to meeting up with folks in real life

Bucky2008 · 15/07/2008 14:58

Ahh Mibbster....see how much you miss when you stay away!

Where Is My Baby Exactly When All Is (Not) Fine - Club. We have a theme tune and everthing. If you go back to the last thread near the end you can get the whole episode rather than the highlights.

I missed you Exmouth Market Needlers again . Just met DG for lunch. GG I wish I had seen on here first, you could have come before your appointment! What day are we having drinks next week everyone?

OP posts:
mibbes · 15/07/2008 13:27

LOL at cyber aunties GG ! I'm due 6th Dec, so definitely before santa comes ! Good luck this afternoon
MOB sorry that the results were poor and that you have been hit so hard by this - am so glad you have GG on here to help you out and share the rocky journey xx
SH fingers crossed for a big drop in temp tomorrow, you so don't deserve this worry
Right time - I am either missing something here or just being dim (I'll blame PG if that is the case !) but what on earth is WIMBEWAI(N)F ?...

GorgonsGin · 15/07/2008 11:33

Bucky - just ordered the Deepak Chopra book on Amazon. I need some positive thinking.

Scary - haven't listened to the relaxation CD yet. I forgot about it at the weekend . I'll need to wait until next weekend because want to do it when DH is out, so I don't hear him clattering dishes in the kitchen, playing music, screaming at the telly when the Grand Prix is on etc and I can really zone out.

Picknmix - i forgot to say hello to you in my other posts. How rude of me! It's funny (as in funny = peculiar, not funny = ha ha ha ha) thatso many of the 2WW-ers have had to go down the sperm test route. What a long, drawn out, frustrating process it can be just to test 2-5ml . Fingers crossed for your DH's results.

ei - thank goodness they are taking your complaint seriously. You go girl!

hello to everyone else

GorgonsGin · 15/07/2008 11:22

Caitni - my accupuncture appointment is at 3.15pm today at Exmouth Market. How funny! Wave if you see me in the waiting room! It is hysterical how business must have boomed for helix since they were endorsed by the WIMBEWAIF 2WW-ers . ha, I think that scary should be on a commission bonus for all her referals

scary - Like ei said, I'm so sorry this is happening to you. How is Mr SH doing? Are you going to make an appointment about getting a lap and dye?

Bucky - your posts always make me laugh so much!

i was at a BBQ last night and I maybe had one too many wines (and on a Monday too!) . I was trying to be good, honest, but I get bored when it's never my month and it was such a nice evening. DH stuck to his guns and drank alcohol free Becks all night. I have forwarded him the smoothie recipes, caitni, and he is going to try them .

hello to anyone missed and all lurkers out there.

Caitni · 15/07/2008 10:50

Morning ladies,

MOB I am so sorry to hear Mr MOB's results, and that he had to struggle to see his own results. I agree with GG's advice about the andrology unit - that's what my DH did when he did his test and it is designed to, erm, aid the process as much as possible. It's worth implementing a sperm boosting diet before the next sperm test - maybe trying those smoothies. I'm thinking of you both at this time

SH I'm v at your CP - you poor thing, you've been through the wringer...but your BFP will come (and that is true of all of us). That is quite worring about your temp - keep an eye on it and trust your instincts if it doesn't drop properly and call the doctor/hospital.

GG I'm also off to the Helix Clinic this afternoon - I'm going to bunk off straight after so went for a later app than last week. Let's compare notes on the old flow of qi

Bucky hearing about Finn and Molly makes me - I love dogs. And flyball classes - well exciting! Can you tell that the flyball stuff is some of my favourite things to watch at Crufts??

to PnM Ei Lou Mibbes and everyone else. Today's my first day back at work since Thursday, so lots to do, but being currently internet-less at home means I've much to catch up on internet wise (on MN, Fertility Friend, gmail)... Move went really well - despite the sea of boxes we're still living in, the sea across the road is making up for it (helped by the glorious weather over the weekend!). The first commute to London went well today so so far so very good for Brighton. Ei I'd love love love if a BFP follows the move (I'm also hoping that the sea air has a beneficial effect )

Love to you all
xx

ScaryHairy · 15/07/2008 10:44

Thanks Ei. Maybe it is 'just' a CP then. I could cope with that a lot better than another ectopic... It does seem more likely - particularly given that I did have positive HPTs and now they are totally neg. I guess it's statistically more likely too.

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 15/07/2008 10:33

oh scary im so sorry just a thought hun with both of my CPs my temp stayed well above the cover line for about 3/4 days after bleeding started and then i had a dramatic drop to way below the cover line. im so sorry this is happening to you huge {{{{{{{{{{{{higs}}}}}}}}}}}}}} for you and you DH xxx
xx ei xx

ScaryHairy · 15/07/2008 10:22

Good morning all WIMBEWAI(N)F- ers

MOB I am sorry those results aren't great, but clearly another test is in order, especially since it sounds like Mr Bird may have missed the pot a bit. Good on him for taking on the receptionist. Where do doctors find these charm school dropouts? You are absolutely not a fraud hanging around here. As a wise old bird reminded me yesterday, we WILL get there. One way or another you and your lovely husband will get your baby, it just might not be by the most conventional means.

Ei I am very glad the GP has apologised and that things are moving for you. It's just such a shame it has to be a struggle to get anywhere?

GG I hope you enjoy the acupuncture this afternoon. Are you going to see the same guy as me and Caitni? I think it's hilarious that they are getting a sudden surge in business from the WIMBEWAI(N)F club! Have you listened to your hypno CD yet? I just love the bit when she says "thaaat's riiight" - it sends me straight to sleep!

Bucky I am willing to bet that you can do reflexology and acupuncture together, although I would have thought there might be some overlap in what they aim to do so it is probably worth checking whether there is any point in having both.

Higs to Picknmix (you're being very patient about your DH's test, I would be biting someone by now), Caitni, Mibbes, Lou and lurkers.

I have started bleeding which I assume is my period, but my temp has gone back up to 36.75, which has me rather nervy and it still has not dropped below the cover line. I did an HPT to be sure and it is a very clear BFN. With any luck the temp is just a glitch and tomorrow it will go back to normal. This is almost an exact copy of my ectopic though: confusing test results before AF, BFN right before AF, AF a day late and continuing high temps. I just hope that this is nothing to worry about. Well actually I am mostly managing not to worry because there is nothing I can do anyway but it's not great...

GorgonsGin · 15/07/2008 09:58

MOB - I am so for your news. You are not a fraud to be on the 2WW thread with us and I won't let you say it - we are your cyber friends and wouldn't let you leave us. Everyone keeps telling me, it only takes one swimmer and it's true. You have been so encouraging to me through moods and worry, and helpful telling me about your friends who conceived naturally with very low sperm counts. It can happen to us too . Really thinking of you today and we're all here for you. I don't think I have set up the CAT facility otherwise I'd say, if you want to talk to someone who went through the same thing four months ago and it would help, to email me. I'll look into it.

I can't concentrate on training on the best of days . How are you feeling about everything now? I am at the rudeness of the doctor's receptionist! It is no wonder they have the worst ever reputation as a "profession" when they treat people who have a right to see their own test results like congenital idiots. Well done to Mr Bird for standing up to her.

0.25ml is not a lot for a sample, but it sounds to me as if your poor DH, understandably, got performance anxiety because of the circumstances in which he had to give his sample. My DH felt ok going to the local hospital's andrology unit and use the...erm..."wanky porn room" as he called it, to provide his sample. Is there any possibility of doing that, so your DH doesn't have to go through the same awful experience and dash to the hospital? The repeated test in a few weeks will give you a clearer picture. Get a copy of the results sheet again and keep it - the consultant at the fertility unit wasn't sent DH's results so luckily we had them with us (it's the lawyer in me, I always keep paperwork )

We have been referred for the ICSI form of IVF. I think that would be what you would be considered for. It's where the sperm is not just shoved in a petri dish with a few eggs and given a stir, but healthy sperm are isolated and injected directly into your eggs. You only need a very few swimmers to be suitable for it. Then if the eggs fertalise, they are put into you using the same process as regular IVF. It may be too soon for you to think about it, but have you checked the criteria for your local primary Care Trust for ICSI funding through the NHS?

mibbes - it is so nice when you pop into see us. How is the little miblet . When is your due date when we will all be cyber aunties

scary - how are you feeling today? Did you temp drop liek you expected. It's been a tough few days on the 2WW. Our good news, BFP times will come soon.

hello to Bucky and Caitni - I am off for acupuncture this afternoon, so will let you knwo how I get on and whether I feel all light and floaty afterwards. I am determined to get my Dh there, so am mounting a campaign to convince him it is a good idea. I will be using all my feminine wiles

Need to dash to a meeting, but will check in later.

((((((higs))))))))))

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 15/07/2008 09:48

morning ladies
MOB im so sorry about the results but as you say you know there is usually more than what they said was in the pot then this set of results may not be quite accurate and you only need one spermie to get lucky so i am still crossing my fingers for you either way and you are in no way a fraud being here. dont go anywhere lady the room wouldnt be the same without you
speak later
xx ei xx

Madoldbird · 15/07/2008 07:50

Morning ladies

SH How are you today? Hope your temp has gone down as you hoped it would.

Mibbes Good to see you. How's that bump doing?

EI that's really good news about the result of your complaint. Hopefully she will now treat you better, and other people as well. It was worthwhile complaining.

GG Wow, it sounds like you are being as virtuous(sp?)as your DP!! You are spurring me on to make more of an effort.

Bucky I think you probably can have reflexology & acupuncture together - but check with the therapists. I guess the only downside would be that if you feel some benefits you won't know which one is having the effect!

PnM Glad your DH has been referred, although am surprised he needs an "appt" for a test. Hopefully they will call v soon.

Thank you all of you for your lovely kind words, your understanding, and your higs. It really means a lot. We got a copy of the results last night - DH rang and asked, and they said, "no, the results are just for the dr". DH said that, no, as they are about him, he is entitled to see them, and anyway he wanted me to see them. The receptionist then said "well, your wife won't be able to understand them" But he insisted i would!!
Unfortunately describing them as "low" was very optomistic. They are very very bad. Not helped by the fact that the volume was so low (0.25ml) Now i know that the volume normally isn't great - but there is usually more than that!! DH did say at the time that he found it difficult to "aim", and i think this was the problem. The surroundings didn't help!!! Sperm count of 0.7 million / ml, motility of 11% (only 5% rapid)- morphology couldn't be measured. Well - you get the picture.

The GP has said to repeat, and then he will refer us if it is similar next time. So basically, it's never going to happen naturally, is it? I feel a bit of a fraud even being on the thread any more. We're not going to give up though - we hoping that there may be enough "normal" sperm in there to go for IVF (what's the type where they take an individual sperm and inject it in the egg?? - surely you only need a few for that?)

DH seems remarkably ok - i feel shell shocked still. I have got a days training today, and have no idea how i'm going to concerntrate on it!

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 15/07/2008 00:28

hi ladies
MOB so sorry about the disappointing results from your DHs sperm test if anyone deserves a stroke of luck you do hun i feel so sad for you big >
scary have you tested again? i really am still keeping the hope alive for you xx i know how heartbreaking it is to have the BFP torn away so soon after getting it so it must be so much harder after the hellish few months you have had i wish you were closer so i could give you a massive cuddle and a hot choc (as it cure all ails xx) keep your chin up brave strong lady (that last bit goes for all of you girls)
i had my feedback from my GP complaint procedure earlier today and she has admitted she was unfair and hadnt explained herself well. she also profusely apologised and has asked to see me to discuss referral so i have an appointment next tuesday morning i knew moaning would get me some where some day
hi to all the other amazing women in the club
xx ei xx

PicknMix · 14/07/2008 21:47

Its been a sad day in 2ww world today hasn't it...

Mob I'm so sorry to hear the results weren't good. It sounds like you've had some excellent advice from the others so far, def important to get a proper run down of the results so you can look at the bigger picture and understand fully what the next steps will be. Totally get why you feel shaken and teary - but as others have already said, you can't go on one test alone as sperm results can vary widely at different times - sh is right, it takes 3 months for sperm to replenish themselves so take the next 6 weeks to implement a sperm enhancing diet for dh. Big higs to you and dh though.

Sh what a kick to your emotions going through this after going through an ep, you are more than entitled to feel upset. Take care of yourself - I have fingers crossed for a temperature drop so you can discount the worry of another ep.

Very sorry to hear you're back to cd1 ei. Its so tiring doing this every month isn't it. Glad to hear you had a good camping weekend though.

Ahhh and big higs to molly with her kennel cough! They both round so lovely though bucky, bet you've missed them! Maybe you could give the accupuncturist a ring to check about doing needles and other therapies at the same time - I don't know if it would cause probs or not.

Dh's doc has referee him to get a sperm test - although he now has to wait for a phone call from the hospital to confirm an appt - grr! Will have to wait at least a week for them to ring and then another week for the test. Takes so long!!

Some friends have just arrived so back kates xx .

Bucky2008 · 14/07/2008 20:48

Deepak Chopra Health Book - I haven't read this one

I think this was the one I read

I saw him on Oprah as well years ago, he rocked.

OP posts:
Bucky2008 · 14/07/2008 20:44

oh and SC was meant to be ScaryHairy...oops. I am eating cake for SH, on second glass of Rose now...well I won't be able to have any after Wednesday will I?

OP posts:
Bucky2008 · 14/07/2008 20:42

oops hadn't finished writing and it posted....

GG I am very glad that you are still optimistic...It shows what strength of character you have to not dwell on the advertisities that you are facing. IVF must be very daunting though... hopefully you will not need it. You should read a book by Deepak Chopra, the power of thought is amazing...given how driven you are I tend to think it would work for you.

PnM how are you doing today? Finn and Molly are being such sweeties, they went mad when we picked them up from Kennels. Totally loonies running around like animals possessed. Molly had kennel cough though...she sounds like a seal and keeps burying her head in my armpit when she coughs. She is soo cute . I think FinnDog may go to Flyball class next.

Ei Hope you are feeling a bit happier this evening. [higs]

Well me, absolutely nothing to report. Any bding that is done is for fun this month, although we are both working so much that I barely see DP at the moment. So, its just Thursday to get over with and then my quest for good health will commence. I am thinking of doing reflexology and acupunture as well. Can you combine therapies .

OP posts:
Bucky2008 · 14/07/2008 20:29

Hey Mibbsey, watcha upto? .

Ahhhh, my girlies are all sad today . This ttc malarky sucks at times....MOB like everyone else has said before me, you are totally allowed to vent on here, and you are not being self obsessed. Being self obsessed is staring at a line in the middle of your forehead loads of times in the day and insisting that the marketing department airbrush it out in all marketing material pics ....hmm wonder who that could be? Anyway, it is a massive deal that you are going through now, and we are all thinking about you and your dh. Did you get the results from the dr?

SC , I am drinking a big glass of rose and eating loads of cake for you to make you feel happy again.

OP posts:
mibbes · 14/07/2008 16:41

Hi Ladies,
I just wanted to pop in to say that I am so sorry about suspected CP Scary - as if you didn't have enough heartache with the EP. It is good to hear you taking a positive approach though and starting a thread to ask for advice on how to get things progressed - I agree that some investigation from GP is required.
MOB am so sorry about low sperm analysis results. I really hope your DH is able to discuss it with you tonight and you can make some plans to follow Mr. GG's good example (he is very impressive with his committed attitude GG !). You are so sweet the way you talk about wanting to give your DH the chance to have his own child and how he wants one so much - I have absolutely everything crossed for you both and am so glad that our resident 'expert' on the subject GG is here to help you through this.
PnM good luck with appt tomorrow, I really hope GP refers your DH for a test. It is rotten how these things are such a lottery depending on where you live or even which GP you get - fingers crossed for a speedy referal.
Ei so sorry TEW got you, but glad you are seeing the positive side with lengthend LP
to all the other lovely 2ww ladies.

GorgonsGin · 14/07/2008 15:12

MOB - I don't think I did a stroke of work for three days after receiving similar news. It really hit us like a ton of bricks and DH went a bit caveman about the whole thing.

scary - you have every right to feel upset and emotional. You have had an ectopic pregancy recently which that is a battering experience for both the body and the mind and a CP this cycle, which gets all your hopes up only to be dashed. We'd all feel the same and we are here to give you ((((((higs)))) too. especially when the frustrations of TTC plays with our sanity sometimes. That wasn't a comment on you, but on me, and I suppose all of us each month when we live in TTC hope. Your time WILL come.

EI - I am so sorry to hear that your AF arrived. I have read through all the posts, so hope there is some good news out there.

It is CD26 for me today so I am getting itchy fingers for some POAS practice, but that is my personal madness . I honestly still believe (stupidly ) that it WILL happen for us naturally. It is pretty unlikely, but hey ho. I have no major symptoms - we I have some symptoms, but exactly what I've had for the previous 20 months, so I can't rely on tender (.)(.) and forgetfulness to indicate a bean . We are making progress with IVF and the more I read abotu it the scarier it becomes. Apart from two Thorton's chocolates, I have been the model of good dietary discipline over the last few days . I am now in competition with my lovely swot of a DH who is being terribly good.

Speak soon and thinking of all of you.

GGx

Madoldbird · 14/07/2008 14:37

GG Thank you so much for that info - i was going to search for that later, so you have saved me having to do that. You are lovely.

SH Thank you also. I really helps to vent and share. Apart from DH there is no-one in RL to talk to about it. The only person who really knew that we were trying (and that wehad been for some time) was my mum, and she asked a while back how things were going and said "well, it's obviously not meant to be" and hasn't mentioned it since So it really, really helps to have you lot here. SH, It is not surprising that you feel battered, having a CP following an EP. A visit to the GP (and push for referral)sounds like a good idea. I hope that AF arrives properly, so you don't have the worry of another EP. XX

EI sorry - when i posted earlier i hadn't read your post properly and i didn't see that AF had arrived. Hope you're ok.

Can't concerntrate on work today... can you tell?!
