We are all living in hope for you Bucky obssess away

Bucky2008 · 22/08/2008 09:07

I'm on CD30 and I am sure AF will turn up and embarrass my obsessing, but I don't feel like she is coming at all...Well it is only 8.55am I suppose . In my last ten cycles I have had one cycle over 30 days but I ov late.

Oct-Nov 2007 - 29 days ov CD18
Nov-Dec 2007 - 29 days ov CD18
Dec-Jan 2008 - 27 days ov CD16
Jan-Feb 2008 - 29 days ov CD18
Feb-Mar 2008 - 24 days ov CD13
Mar-Apr 2008 - 31 days ov CD20
Apr-May 2008 - 28 days ov CD17
May-Jun 2008 - 29 days ov CD18
Jun-Jul 2008 - 27 days ov CD16

And this month ov CD16 so where is AF? Even if I ov on CD18..two days after the on my OPK, AF should turn up today. The thing is I can feel ov now, and I know I ov on the CD16. I read your LP can vary by two days too so maybe the accupunture has lengthened my LP , but as you can see it has been pretty reliable up until now.

Sorry everyone, just humour me, when AF turns up later today this will be a waste of everyone's time but until she does I cannot help obsessing and feeling a bit of hope.....

How many days is it now since you got you Bucky?

Bucky2008 · 22/08/2008 07:23

I am being tortured.....AF is still NOT HERE!!!!! . I think the accupuncture has messed up my cycle....or corrected it if I am thinking postively.

Bucky - I have no idea on the luteal phase, but 8scary* sounded right. I am so sorry about another BFN . perhap sin the meantime, you could have a wee gin

Hmmm, yes, I did really say that to the GP. I said it rather calmly and in friendly manner. I was determined to keep my head and not lose my rag with him. I felt quite naughty saying "wanking" to my doctor [blsuh]. When he finished the conversation with "...remember to have sex", I could have clocked him there and then , but i was half way out the door and shaking a bit. He didn't take offence - I think he saw it as banter . I wasn't feeling great anyway and it just came out, but he was so bleedin' flippant! He has a way of making me feel like a 14 year old fool who is desperately over reacting .

DH was actually "wanking off as I speak" at the Hammersmith Hospital yesterday This one is the "Big Sperm Test" for us. We'll see if all DH's efforts have paid off with a radically improved count . DH hasn't had a sip of alcohol since 23rd June and had cut down radically before that, plus Man Vits, double helpings of broccoli every night, dozens of brazil nuts and so many seeds I'm surprised he hasn't germinated . Finger crossed there is some hope there (although i think that secretly DH is hoping that it hasn't made a blind bit of difference to his swimmers, so he can get started on the pints of Fosters and bacon sarnies again and forget devouring cruciferous vegetables by the tonne ). His results appointment is on 15th September and today was the second last day he could make his deposit at the sperm bank (the bank that likes to say yes, oh yes, yeeeeeees....YES!!! I know I've made that joke before, but, hey, I like it! ). I know sperm takes 90-ish days to form, and it's only been 60+ days, but hopefully we'll get some improvement?

scary and ei - we do have useless GP's . I cannot believe that a GP would withhold thyroid medication. That is outrageous .

picknmix - are you out there and lurking my lovely or having a break form us? Big (((((higs))))) to you. Come and shang out again here

lou and 07MTW - big hello to you two.

jolly - how are you now my dear? Has the hyper emesis calmed down and how is little jollybump? We miss you on here and you are always so positive and fun. Let me know what other books are good . I am now a Margaret Atwood addict.

MOB - have a lovely evening! catch you tomorrow

caitni - have fun in the boondocks and enjoy your break! Hope you come back with a BFP!

Sorry about another me me me me me me post everyone . Only CD8 today, so I am self obsessed without any symptoms yet. Only symptoms I have are nothing to do with TTC - my bleedin' arm still looks like is should be John Merrick's

GGx

Bucky2008 · 21/08/2008 20:22

But I used up my twinset . I don't have a test to use. So I will have to wait to Saturday if AF is still staying away.

ScaryHairy · 21/08/2008 19:36

I agree with Ei re the wee Bucky. You should save your 3am wee in a pot and then test it when you get up if your period is still MIA.

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 21/08/2008 19:33

hi ladies
GG at your GP. if you didnt live so far away from me i would swear we had the same blardy GP!! mine is now withholding my repeat prescriptions for my thyroid medication i had to fight for the one i collected today as she wouldnt do it for me!! shes a bitch!! your GP sounds like a prize plum and i would be swiftly moving to a better one ASAP!!
bucky sorry about your BFN b ut it still wasnt FMU as you had already done a wee a few hours before. it needs to be held in for about 6 hours to be concentrated enough maybe wee in a pot at 3am tomorrow and do a test when you wake up again later good luck with testing again
hi to everyone
hi to the preggy ladies (that includes YOU SH)
xx ei xx

ScaryHairy · 21/08/2008 18:55

And hi to everyone else too! God I am forgetful...

ScaryHairy · 21/08/2008 18:54

Are you still lurking Pnm? I hope you're ok, and that the bats/duck etc are behaving.

And I also forgot to say hellooooo to Ei

ScaryHairy · 21/08/2008 18:53

Have a great time Caitni GG I am that your GP is such an incredible git, and at what he said to you, but I have to say I LMAO when I read what you said to him. Well, you don't need to deal with the twit again. I'd get another GP if I were you.

Continuing the theme of disappointing GPs, I decided to go see mine to get referred for a scan (since apparently I can't self-refer anywhere) and guess what? There are no appointments until September! God my GP is soooo badly organised. It's always a fight to get an appointment. Anyway I asked a GP to call me and when we spoke she agreed she would order the receptionists to find me a slot. I am going to call tomorrow but if they haven't sorted it a blistering letter will be going to the PCT and I will be going to the Portland. Fools.

Sounds like everything is moving forward well with the ICSI, MOB. I really hope it all goes well for you and your DH. He sounds like he will be a lovely daddy.

Bucky I think it is possible to ovulate 2 days after getting the - I think there is an explanation on peeonastick.com. I reckon also that if acupuncture can balance out your hormones it may well be capable of extending your luteal phase. That can only be a good thing, since a longer luteal phase will give a bean a better chance to implant. It will all come good for you .

Your story doesn't surprise me at all, MTW. When I went to the EPAU it was full of your girls stinking of fags. So unfair. I hope the pregnancy is going well and that you are not growing too much of a whopper!

Bucky2008 · 21/08/2008 18:17

MOB I X Posted with you and didn't see your post. Good luck with your appointments if I don't remember nearer the time. I am thinking if AF turns up I might make that appointment SH suggested.

I have probably missed you but have a good holiday Caitni.

Did you really say all that GG? If so, good for you. I would say the doctor sounded like a w*nker but given all our predicaments and what our DH/DPs have to spend their time doing recently I think I will call him a donkey.

Well did a test again this morning, not really with FMU because the 3am thing happened again and I got up at 6am but it was a BFN all the same. That said, AF has not turned up and I am confused now. I got my on CD16. For the last 24 months that I have been checking I have had a 11 day LP. Today is CD29 . Can accupunture alter you LP? I had a bit of cramping and was sure AF was here but she isn't yet. I am sure she will turn up any minute but all the same why is my LP longer and can the egg hatch like 2 days after the surge???? Oh questions questions.....

07mumstheword · 21/08/2008 17:11

Oh Bucky but as everyone has said you ain't out of it yet! And those nails have got to be a symptom.

GG at your GP!

Catni Have a lovely time

I had to go to hospital again this morning (long story but I have been diagnosed with implaired glucose tolerance which can cause a lady to grow big babies ) and I had to share how I am for all my TTC buddies. I had to walk past the Early Pregnancy Unit and outside was a couple breathing in their last drags of their cigerattes, how bloody unfair is that! You ladies do everything you can to be as healthy as possible and it should be you that is pregnant it's not fair you deserve it!

Hi ei SH Lou mibbes DG and everyone else.

Caitni · 21/08/2008 16:12

Just wanted to say a temporary goodbye. I'm off to the boonies, so doubt I'll have much internet access for the next 10 days. I'll be checking in when I can and I really hope that SH's started a ball rolling and there are lots more BFPs to come (especially for our lovely Bucky). SH mr needles is going to be so happy too!

Cxx

JollyBear · 21/08/2008 11:47

Congrats SH . I'm so pleased for you! Lets hope this is a start of a roll of BFPs!

GG How did you not slap your GP across the face?! Hope your arm feels better soon. I love Alias Grace, it is a great book! I'd recommend the Blind Assasin (sp?) by M Atwood too.

Bucky BFN's with non-FMU don't count. My fingers are crossed for you.

Hello to everyone!

Caitni · 21/08/2008 11:34

PS any news Bucky? Still crossing everything, which is rather impeding my ability to fly through the piles of work I still have to do before bunking off at half four

Caitni · 21/08/2008 11:34

Not much time to post but just wanted to say to GG how I am at your GP. What a terrible attitude, and you sum it up so well...it's too common for GPs to assume that patients with a suspected problem are being paranoid time wasters. Can't help feeling that fertility is particularly susceptible to this (hysterical women etc). A medical professional who says ICSI and IVF are the same thing, I find that quite shocking!

GorgonsGin · 21/08/2008 10:59

Oh bucky at the BFN, but maybe with another test further along the line? As for meeting up, I'd really love to, but I am on holiday from Saturday for two + weeks, and I don't think I can escape work now, so we'll need to meet up in September when I get back.

MOB - that is really exciting about your appointment at the clinic! Sorry to make you repeat everything after I only skimmed the thread . I can't believe that ICSI wouldn't be suitable for you and your DH from what you've said, but the consultant will be able to answer all your questions. We might be ICSI Cycle Buddies one day

big hello to DG mibbes and 07MTW. How are you all feeling?

Oooh lou are you a teacher. Abbeymeg (a regular on here and now a graduate ) is a teacher. I don't know how you do it - such a difficult job.

Big hello to caitni and my cycle buddy, ei.

scary - have you started a due in may thread yet?? Is your DH over the moon? I am so excited for you and pleased after all the difficulties with your MC and CP. It's fabulous news . I don't think you should come to our meet ups if you are going to look gorgeous and have lovely shiny hair and strong nails!

I feel like an old dish rag today and look worse ! I had a really bad reaction to the injections I had for my holiday. My arm swelled up like the Elephant Man's until I couldn't get a shirt on and it was bright red, scalding hot to the touch - like I'd been badly sun burned . I also had a rash all over me and vomited, so I went to my GP because I was scared I'd got an infection and didn't want to be ill on holiday in the tropics without anti-biotics, if I needed them.

It was the same GP I saw in December asking for a referral to a fertility specialist and he was just about as sympathetic. Jolly enough, tutted over it, but basically said "massive allergic reaction - nothing you can do except anti-histamine" and made me feel I was wasting his time. Then he asked, clearly because I still had, ooooh, about 43 seconds left of my appointment:

"Oh, how's that other thing going? . "The fertility stuff. Getting preganant".

All I could think of was, do I LOOK like I am preganant?! AND even if I was up the duff and not showing, don't you think I might have mentioned the fact because I'd be sh*tting myself about the effect the injections/reactions were having had on my unborn child?! Grrrr . However, I didn't say that.....

"We're in the process of rising to the top of the queue at Queen Charlotte's. DH's doctor referred us".
"For IVF?
"Yes, for ICSI"
"Oh right, ICSI, whatever, all the same. Is it unexplained infertility?"
"No, my husband has a very low sperm count."

"Actually, my husband spends his life wanking off in a room at the Hammersmith Hospital and is there, as I speak, producing another sample. I wasn't being an hysterical, middle-class woman who had Googled too much, making a fuss because it hadn't happened in month 2. We did have an issue, as I suspected, and it DIDN'T 'happen by Easter' as you bet me it would."

"Oh well, Bali might have an effect. Tropical beaches, all that sunshine."

"It's coming up two years of trying to conceive. I wish conceiving was as easy as going on holiday, because we do that a lot."

"Remember to have keep having sex! Byeee"

Caitni · 20/08/2008 22:04

Bucky sorry about the BFN but am hoping that tomorrow's FMU brings a BFP. My fingers and toes are crossed for you xx

Hi Ei hope all's well with you m'dear

to everyone else xx

mibbes · 20/08/2008 21:26

BUCKY you ignored my advice lady ! That BFN does NOT count so I won't be giving you any symtpathy - consider your wrists well and truly slapped ! test in a day or 2 if no AF - any signs she is coming or are you still hopeful ? Have all my bits crossed for you

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 20/08/2008 20:23

ScaryHairy · 20/08/2008 20:06

Oh Bucky. Grrr to those bastard BFNs.
It will work for you, you know. In fact I am going to send you the hypnowotsit CD so you can practice being butter melting in the sun and you can get on with believing that you will get your Buckybaby.

Bucky2008 · 20/08/2008 19:23

I won't say I told you so but....BFN here. I did think maybe I should hold off saying as we are all still enjoying SH's good news.

OP posts:
ScaryHairy · 20/08/2008 19:00

Thanks Lou and DG.
I'm going to get a scan in a week or 10 days, so then should know what's going on. I feel much more excited about this one than I did about the previous 2 though, so with any luck my instincts are right and all is well.

I hope you had a good holiday Lou and that the SPD is behaving DG. How did the acupunture go?

digitalgirl · 20/08/2008 17:21

Just popped in to say congrats to SH

Got my fingers crossed this one's a sticky, womb-implanted one! If you're worried - I had a scan at just over 4 weeks and they were still able to find it in the right place - was just a little sac at that stage, no visible yolk but at least you know it's where it's supposed to be.
