MOB What wonderful news about your appointment. TTC really is a rollercoaster ride but I really hope you are on the up now.

Bucky You too, Scandanavian clinics no less

I'm so pleased you've both been able to look at your options and they are turning out to be positive.

I can't believe DG has had her baby already, so early but sounds a very healthy weight. I wonder what she has called him? Congrats DG if you read this.

PnM Hope you're resting with your foot up

Hello to everyone else I'm so pleased that the thread has a more positive vibe for you.

Oh and Bucky I know all about ranting neighbours we have a loopy lou next door to us. It is a horrible horrible feeling to be on tender hooks in your own home. There are only six houses in our street and we get on with everyone else so I know the problem doesn't lie with us, it sounds much like your situation with your other close neighbours, they don't seem to have a problem. As difficult as it is try not to worry.

MrsHappy · 01/09/2008 20:34

OMG MOB I am so pleased you got the news you wanted. I bet that has put a smile on your face!

Picknmix I'm glad your foot doesn't hurt although it sounds like an enormous PITA (if not in the foot). I guess a bucket might be the only way to go...

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 01/09/2008 20:08

oh MOB im made up your appointment went well and with any luck we will have some madoldtwins to add to our success stories

Evening all.

What exciting news!!! A cyber nephew!! I have gatecrashed the thread to wish her well. Can't wait to hear all about him, and what he's called!! Seems like 5 minutes ago DG got pregnant - where did all the time go?

MrsHappy What a lovely name! Here's hoping this week goes by in a flash for you.

Bucky Brighton will happen!! Even if we have to wait for PnM's foot to mend, "judith" to stop travelling the world etc!! Either that or it's just you, me & a bag of chips

PnM you must be getting so bored, not being able to do anything. Lots of MN time, though! I expect to see you being all contraversial on the AIBU threads!!

Big hellos to EI Lou MTW hatty JB Mibbes (Also to GG & Caitni if you are lurking whilst on your hols)

Well, it all went rather well this afternoon. I was a nervous wreck before i went - could hardly drive there for shaking. The consultant was lovely. DH's results were a little better than last time, probably because the sample was analysed straightaway. It was still very poor though. However he has more than enough swimmers for ICSI, and he said that given that i have had 2 DC before, and i appear to be oving, there is no reason why we shouldn't be successful. He went through the whole process with us.

I happened to be CD3 today, so they have taken blood to look at FSH levels (to check for ovarian reserve). Providing this is ok, we can begin at the start of my next cycle

I can't believe how happy i feel, although i am anxious about getting my results for FSH tomorrow. DH is very excited. We are a bit overwhelmed by the 25% chance of twins!!! We have an appt with one of the nurses in a couple of weeks to go through everything again, and to talk about medication, administering it etc.

It's amazing - after over a year of hope slowly draining away month after month, it feels like we may finally be in with a chance. I'm sure there will be lows as well as highs over this next part of the journey, but it's nice to feel optomistic again.

Sorry to go on and on but i am just so relieved it was so positive today

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 01/09/2008 19:32

whoops how could i forget
DG yayayayayay a digiboy what a lovely peice of news i am thrilled to be a cyber auntie

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 01/09/2008 19:30

hi ladies
mob how did your appt go? i hope it went as well as you wanted it to go
mrshappy love your new name
PnM i hope your foot gets better soon until then maybe try a bucket or bum-shuffle up the stairs for a wee
a big hello to everyone else

PicknMix · 01/09/2008 15:50

Afternoon all!

Cyberaunties to DGs baby Digiboy, yay!!!!!

Sorry to hear things have been so tough for you MOb, I have my fingers firmly crossed for your appt and will be thinking of you all day. Do let us know how you get on xx

Bucky I want to meet in Brighton too!!! Not so sure I can make a Sept meet now though unless I can do a hop-a-long impression and no-one laughs at me . Can't believe how mean your neighbour sounds - if you've checked with your closest neighbours and they were all fine then I think you have nothing to worry about. Sod the nasty man - he obviously just wanted a fight and you got the brunt of it. The Scandanavian option sounds like a viable route if necessary. I think its always good to have researched things like that way in advance so you're armed should the need arise. I hope your Dr comes up with some answers re: the fibroid.

SH/MrsHappy! Like the new name!!

Hope you got some making up bding in last night Ei ?!

Hope our holiday makers are still enjoying themselves?!

Hi to MTW, Mibbes, JB, Abby and Hatty - are all doing ok??

And hi to Lou as well!

I'm all good - no symptoms to report as have c-o-m-p-l-e-t-e-l-y missed ov and it actually feels quite a relief to do away with the thermometer. Foot is fine, woke up in the night screaming in agony but no idea why as during the day it doesn't hurt. Have to wait until Thurs for an appt with an orthopaedic consultant (need scans and whatnot to determine if dislocated as well as broken) and am bored already - can't drive, can't go to work, can't even get upstairs without making a gargantuan effort (gah - no downstairs loo = crossing my legs lots )

Will prob waffle lots on here to while away the hours!!

Bucky2008 · 01/09/2008 13:20

Gosh, I am so excited about DGs baby, I feel like I just had him myself . We are cyberaunties...hurrah at last!

Hi Ladies
(tis me, SH, I have namechanged)

Ei that appointment does sound extraordinarily annoying, but at least you'll get seen by someone good now. And with any luck you won't need the appointment after all...

Your poor foot Picknmix. I hope it is not too painful and that your DH is waiting on you hand and (forgive me) foot . We won't tell DD about this bean for ages I think. There is not much point as she has no concept of time, but we will at least try to indoctrinate her into thinking that babies are nice (at the moment she does not like them and says they cry all the time, which is sort of true...)

Lots of luck at the clinic today MOB. I have everything crossed that they come up with a positive way forward for you and you DH.

Bucky your neighbours sound awful. I do understand people complaining about dogs barking (it's not my favourite sound in the world and we have a neighbour whose dog barks all night) but to be agressive is out of order and to complain if the dogs aren't barking much is just rubbish. Maybe it's someone else's dog he can hear! Lol at MOB's idea re the Dog-cam.

No news from me, am just willing Friday to hurry up and come.
I was just lurking on the September 08 AN thread and DG has had a little Digiboy in what sounds like a pretty nice labour. Yay!

Bucky2008 · 01/09/2008 10:01

MOB I think it is just you and me in Brighton at this rate .

Sorry you are feeling low but I am really glad you are back . I am just sneaking on here at work but wanted to say hello.

Madoldbird · 01/09/2008 07:35

Hi everyone

Big apologies for not being around for a few days, everything got on top of me for a bit, i tried to write a post several times, and kept welling up as soon as i started. I'm back, though, and i'm so sorry not to have been here to support you all.

SH am willing the days away for you until your scan. Am very at your problems trying to get one through your GP, but i'm sure it's best for you that you have organised it yourself. Hope you are doing ok.X

PnM You poor thing, with your broken foot!! Must be so painful. I hope your DH is looking after you and spoiling you! Does that mean you can't get to work / work??

EI That's frustrating about your appt, but it sounds as though it has worked out well in the end, and that you will soon get to see someone who can help you. Fingers crossed you get a nice sticky bean in the meantime!

Bucky Scandanavian IVF sounds interesting - i know the clinic we are going to supports people who are getting treatment overseas, and does all the blood tests, scan etc beforehand. You just travel for the egg collection, and embryo transfer. Might be worth investigating clinics near you who are happy to do this. Am very on your behalf about your stupid neighbour. If no-one else has a complaint, then what is he going on about. Maybe you should set up a "finn & molly cam* while you are out, to prove that it is not excessive!!

Hello to everyone else i haven't mentioned. Hope you are all ok, and that those who are on hols are having fun!

Well, as i mentioned, i have been in a bit of a state for a few days. Only because we have our appt at the clinic today, and we will either find out if they can help us, or if it is the end of the road. (Obv it's the latter i am terrified of). DH had another SA on friday. They rang him back within half an hour of him producing it and the woman who'd looked at it said that it confirmed the test he'd had previously (i.e. not a good result at all) but he asked her if there was enough in there to work with, and she seems very positive. The doctor may have other ideas though.

As i said before, i'm sorry for staying away, but any thoughts of ttc etc have been reducing me to tears atm. Stupid i know. I will come back this evening and let you know how it all went, and i promise to be a better cyber friend!!

So when are we going to Brighton then???!!!

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 31/08/2008 22:38

oh dear PnM sorry about the foot i hope you are ok and your DP is taking good care of you
bucky im glad the scandanavian ivf place is checking out so it gives you a viable alternative should you decide to take the ivf route
i hope everyone is having a nice sunday evening i am about to Ov as i can feel my boobs start to ache and i have been very ratty with DH today so i think a bit of make up BDing is in order also a bit of baby making BDing kill 2 birds with 1 stone
xx ei xx

Bucky2008 · 31/08/2008 10:17

Sorry about you foot PnM. That sounds painful . I am none the wiser about the fibroid either. Basically, as the hospital after the surgery the doctor who came round briefly told me about it but he didn't say much and then ran off. When they wrote to the doctor there was no mention of it at all, so as far as my doctor was concerned it is non existant. He was going to follow up with a call though to ask them why they didn't do an internal scan and/or if they did and just haven't mentioned it . Re the Scandinavian IVF, I have read up on the clinic now and it gets really really good reviews, but it is their summer holiday (August shutdown?) now I think as I got an email saying they were on hols.

Ei that nurse is shocking , but I am glad all ended well. You sound much more upbeat and positive which is great.

Nothing new here. A chavvy neighbour who lives 4 houses away from us turned up yesterday screaming abuse at DP over the fence. Finn went mad as he was being really threatening. He was complaining about Finn barking. He said the whole street was fed up of it . After he went I knocked at every door 5 houses each way down the street, and nobody except him had any complaint. Finn barked twice (and not two sets of barking, just Woof Woof twice) for the entire day yesterday, after the barking when the man was shouting. So, I am not sure what he was complaining about and now I am all paranoid and fed up. Finn and Molly have the run of the garden whilst we are at work, so I obviously don't know if Finn has some kind of alter ego that barks incessantly whilst we are at work. . He was so abusive though, and it was the first we had heard that anyone had a problem. I spoke to him afterwards, when I was knocking doors, and he had calmed down, but I am still super paranoid and every time Finn goes outside DP runs out in case he barks which is really stressful. I wish I could just forget about it and think the man was just in a bad mood but it is horrible thinking that we could have problems with our neighbours going forward. Sorry, off topic rant but I am a bit fixated on it....

07mumstheword · 30/08/2008 13:06

ei How frustrating but you probably got more care and attention from the assistants because if the nurse was willing to go home early she probably couln't have been bothered to send a letter to a consultant, too much like hard work

PicknMix Ouch I broke my foot a few years back. It's amazing how quickly you get used to the plaster but not being able to drive was a nightmare. Take it easy it sounds as if your body is still in shock and take all the pain relief you can.

Hello to everyone else it must be quiet with all those lucky holiday makers away Hope you're having a good time at least it won't take too long to catch up when you get back.

PicknMix · 30/08/2008 08:53

Morning!

Apologies for not being around - I broke my foot! Fell over on it and chipped a bit of bone off - also damaged the ligaments so am now in plaster. Thats put paid to this months ttc efforts

Bucky sooo pleased to see you back - missed you! Sounds like your doctor was really helpful. Not sure about the scandinavian ivf but it certainly sounds worth looking into. I'm confused about your fibroid - when your dr said there were no notes about it, does this mean they are not worried about it?

Ei grr at the nurse (why did she do that? Did she not know you were waiting?!) but brilliant end result!! So pleased that things are moving forward - you really deserve some answers so lets hope this top notch consultant can help you

Hi Scary! Still willing this bean to stick for you and for nxt week to come around quickly! Bless your little dd, commenting on your owies - my goddaughter calls them hurties - she had chicken pox recently and was fascinated by all her 'hurties'! Are you going to wait a while before you tell your dd about the new baby?

Hi and waves to everyone else - apologies if I haven't made sense, doped up on painkillers at the mo (figured I've missed the boat egg-wise so might as well go crazy on the medication this month, usually I would avoid it!!).

Laters xx

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 29/08/2008 21:46

hi ladies
wow we have been quiet in here of late i hope everyone is having a nice time having a [shock horror] life
i had my recurrent MC clinic appointment yesterday afternoon although it could hardly be called an appointment i sat waiting for an hour to be seen after my appointment time only to find out when i went in that the MC specialist nurse had gone home early knowing i was waiting to see her no emergency she just wanted to go home lazy bitch how unprofessional!! the assistants were very helpful and did every blood test possible including one or two that were unconventional and they have made me an appointment to see the top man in MC/fertility problems in the north west they were so apologetic and lovely i went out happy in spite of my non starter of a history appointment i should get my appointment card through the post in the next week or so and my appointment is in 6 weeks time!! its such a foreign concept having good treatment from the NHS for once (i mite be speaking too soon yet as i havent had my appointment card yet so im full expecting them to forget about me!!)
bucky im glad your results came back as all clear i hope you dont have to go down the IVF route but what a lovely GP to give you more economical suggestions just in case
scary im glad things are going well with you and the bean not long til the scan
hi to everyone else
xx ei xx

ScaryHairy · 28/08/2008 20:55

Hello my Dears

I am very glad you ar feeling better Bucky and looking into the overseas IVF seems like a good idea. One thing to bear in mind is that if you start the process more than a year after your lap it is possible that they will want to do another one (this is why my Dr suggsted not having a lap unless I was ready to take the leap and go for IVF).

Higs to you all. I think this bean is still hanging in there, although I have no symptoms other than spots (causing my daughter to say "mummy, there's three little owies on your face"). Scan is at the end of next week and I have never wished time would speed up so much before.

07mumstheword · 28/08/2008 19:17

I've been lurking too Bucky worrying about you all but understanding you need a bit of time.

Your doctor sounded very knowledgable on the IVF subject and helpful with the info abroad. So glad you are feeling a little better now.

Hope everyone else is ok.

Bucky2008 · 28/08/2008 13:03

Hello?????? It is no fun lurking if nobody is here! .

I have a bit of an update anyway. I phoned the hospital for the results of my Lap and Dye as they never really spoke to me about anything afterward. They directed me to my doctor. I went to my doctor. No mention of a fibroid, just an all clear in every regard. My doctor was shocked that my follow up appointment is not until December. I told him we are considering our options and he said that several friends of his had gone to Scandanavia where it is much cheaper to have IVF and had all had positive experiences. He said that I could pursue the NHS treatment at the same time, although obviously I would have to tell them should the two treatments clash. I am now seriously considering this option. I am not sure what the practicalities of having this type of treatment abroad would be, I mean you can't guarantee when you will ovulate etc .

Anyway, I was just missing you all. I know that GG is on hols but where are the rest of you. . Are we ever going to have our day out?

Finally, thank you for all being so kind to me. . After a few days to reflect I feel its time to be proactive.

ScaryHairy · 26/08/2008 21:03

Hi Ladies

PnM it does sound like you havd a lovely day with your godchildren. I bet you're a really nice godmother. . I am of your nature spotting - if I sat outside all I would hear is the neighbour's cat calling, the other neighbour's teenagers arguing and speeding cars flying over the bumps one street along! Not sure about what I will do for the delivery of this bean, but I am going to the Portland for a scan, yes. My GP called this morning to offer me an appointment but honestly I don't need the hassle of going there, waiting, being referred, waiting some more etc etc. Instead I can go to my appointment, see a consultant and have a scan and hopefully not be noticeably late for work.

Hi Lou, glad you are still around. And good for you trying to not obsess. I think it's much the best way if you can do it (I never could).

Higs and waves to the rest of you.

loustillwantsaBFPtoo · 26/08/2008 16:52

bucky - im so sorry you are feeling this awful. I can relate to all those things you said, especially about the not being able to get pregnant since the miscarriage.
Hope you are taking some time out to look after yourself. We are all thinking of you.

Hi to everyone else, sorry for my sporadic posting, I am lurking, just trying not to think too hard about things this month!
I do appreciate the support i get when i do post though!! xx

PicknMix · 25/08/2008 22:54

Of course its not insensitive mtw - support in all guises is welcome for whatever stage we're all at

I've had a lovely day with my godchildren (2.6 and 4.8yrs) who are both gorgeous. Made my heart melt when my goddaughter just spontaneously said 'auntie pnm, I love you' (she's the younger one). Strangely didn't make me too emotional though so must be (finally!) hardening up!!

It must be tough Scary having been through what you already have but I really hope you can find the medical care to give you confidence like mtw has. Have you decided on def going with the Portland?

Ei hope this cycle is a bit more 'regular' for you than the last - I'm just going through the ewcm stage, doesn't matter how much I tell myself not to obsess, still have all the physical reminders! Dh and I had blazing row about it all the other night but it did clear the air so hopefully things will be a little more 'natural' - was beginning to feel like some kind of mechanical nightmare between us!!

Just to give you all a wildlife update, am currently sat in the garden doing a bit of owl spotting (yep, you read that right!) whilst listening to the crickets. Weird but nice! Not sure dh is particularly impressed with my being on mn at the same time though so best go!!

Hope everyone else is doing ok?

Still thinking of you Bucky xx

ScaryHairy · 25/08/2008 22:13

Thanks MTW. I'm glad you have confidence in the people who are looking after you, and hope I end up in the same position! It is always good to hear about people who have had losses and gone on to have a successful pregnancy too. I know the odds are actually on my side - I just find it hard to remember that sometimes.

Hope the rest of the WIMBEWAI(N)F-ers are ok and that you've all had a good bank holiday.

Make sure you catch that egg, Ei.
Bucky and Picknmix are you both feeling ok today? I know you're both doing it tough at the moment, but I am sending you huge (((higs))) and am here for you if you want to vent.

Hi also to MOB - your appointment must be coming up soon?

I guess GG and Caitni are still off on holiday ...

07mumstheword · 25/08/2008 21:14

Scary I just wanted to empathise with you regarding your fears. I had two mc's before this pg and I was really scared of losing a third but it's been third time lucky and I'm hoping for the same for you.

I also had an difficult birth with DD. I'm so so scared of this labour I can't tell you but the consultants have been keeping a very close eye on me this time so hopefully I will be in safe hands.

Sorry if this is insensitive talk to the rest of you the last thing I want to do it upset you but just wanted to give Scary a bit of support.

ScaryHairy · 25/08/2008 20:46

Am ok, thanks ei. Bad tempered and skin like the lunar surface but getting by.

How is everyone else?
