MOB lots and lots of luck for your scan on Monday. I'm sure it will be great and you can get on with the next phase. It's lovely that your DH is thinking about names - Eyes on the prize and all that!!

I hope your instinct is right, RFN2

My temps has started to fall now and, while my period is not due until Monday, I know I'm out this time because the last couple of times I've been pg my temp has been much more even than this time around. I'm starting to cramp a bit more too... At least we've got the clinic to see at the end of the month so that should give us a next step to focus on.

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

Madoldbird · 17/10/2008 20:27

RFN2 Well, that was well worth falling out with your DH for Hope your "feeling" is right, and you are pg. Can't wait until it's time for you to test!!

EI So sorry to hear you feeling down yesterday - although don't apologise for it - that's exactly what we're all here for - to listen to each other. Hope you are feeling a bit brighter today. I can't believe i have "known" you a year! Doesn't time fly. And you are 8DPO already fingers crossed for you for next week.

MrsH Thank you for sharing your chart. Since i stopped temping a few months ago, i miss it - so it was fun looking at yours Those are good high temps - lets hope they stay that way! Upset tummy is a good symptom too... (not that i want to encourage you in your obsessing, but i know you will do it anyway )

Caitni What an awful situation with your friend. Especially having her going on about how "awful" pregnancy is! We all here know that we'd give anything to be feeling "awful" like that. Hope you are feeling ok today, and that you have a lovely weekend with all the men in your life

Not much news here - just waiting for my scan Monday, and busy imagining everything that may go wrong! DH and i spent about an hour earlier thinking about names - he was getting so excited. I so want him to have the child he desperately longs for. Please let this ivf work!!

readyfornum2 · 17/10/2008 17:12

mrshappy I dont have a clue about temping but keeping my fingers crossed that you have a sticky bean in the right place x

ei You are still in with a good chance this month

caitni Hope you have a great time with your brothers and its understandable to feel x

Hi to everyone else

Well DP and I have made up and I am getting a lovely pair of genuine ugg boots and a meal out on sunday to make up for it lol.
Its 5dpo for me and I havent really got any symptoms apart from sensitive nipples but I cant help but "feel" pregnant- I cant explain it and I will probably look like a fool when af arrives
I know that I must be kidding myself because I really dont think I will catch that quick and also I am not sure if my periods are back to normal due to my weightloss

mibbes · 17/10/2008 13:23

MrsHappy I had an implantation dip at 10dpo so it is definitely not over for you yet hun and the rise today looks encouraging... you are one hot lady !

Ei sorry you have been having such a rotten week {{higs}}, and you can definitely still conceive several days after BDing so you are still in it this month missus

Catini I know how you feel, we took 4 cycles which was pretty quick but even during that short time when anyone announced they were PG I was really gutted and , it is really difficult - hopefully be your turn to amke a wee announcement soon xx

MrsHappy · 17/10/2008 11:09

Ei if I get another BFP, I have to self-refer to the EPAU (cos GP is useless) and get a scan at around 6 weeks, although I can well imagine turning up at 5 and asking them to look a bit early. There's kind of not a lot else to be done. Either I get pg and it is in the right place or it is not. I wish it could be solved with some extra vitamins or something!

Stopping short by a day or two won't necessarily mean you've missed out. I have been very surprised to conceive once or twice when the sex took place a couple of days before the day when I think I ovulated. Women's bodies are odd and unpredictable sometimes...

I hope you have a great time with your brothers Caitni. And that the sun keeps on shining!

Caitni · 17/10/2008 10:11

Just crossed posts!

MrsH those symptoms sound good to me!! and Ei as long as there's bd-ing before ov then there's still plenty of chance of a BFP. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for BFPs for you both xxx

Caitni · 17/10/2008 10:09

Ei

EisGotASeveredHeadinherHandbag · 17/10/2008 10:08

mrshappy it is most definitely sounding positive if it is a bfp for you this cycle will you have more close monitoring from your consultant?? i am soooo hoping you get a sticky bean in the right place this time
as for me me and DH BDed alot this cycle but it seems that we stopped just short of ov as we both fell asleep on the crucial day oh the glamourous life we lead
xx ei xx

MrsHappy · 17/10/2008 10:00

Why thank you, Ei.
My normal LP is 13 days so I have 2 more to go before my temp would slump.
I do have some cramps and am feeling a bit sick, but my tum seems generally upset today (certainly my guts are evil) so I am not giving that any weight at all.

Got lots of things crossed for you this month, Ei. It's about time you got your sticky bean.

EisGotASeveredHeadinherHandbag · 17/10/2008 09:56

hi ladies > sorry about being such a gloomy gus yesterday
mrshappy had a look at your chart and it is still looking promising IMO how long is your usual luteal phase?? mine is anythin between 8-14 days so my knickerwatch starts today as i am now 8dpoi reckon you hold off til tomorrow morning and test again
i myself will be testing next wednesday if af hasnt arrived before theni have realised that it has now been more than 12 months since i had my coil taken out and we started TTC i know you lot have been going for longer it just seems strange that i have now 'known' you all for a year you have made my TTC life a mostly happy place
i hope everyone is doing well
il catch up more later
xx ei xx

MrsHappy · 17/10/2008 09:34

Hi Ladies
(((Higs))) for Ei. I hope yesterday wasn't too bad and that you're feeling more upbeat today.

This thread feels very quiet lately. Maybe we should move en masse to The Hut or something...

Not much going on with me today. I keep obsessing over my chart (desperately seeking signs of a bean but there are none!) which I shall post for your enjoyment .

Hope you all have a good Friday (I lurve Fridays...)

EisGotASeveredHeadinherHandbag · 16/10/2008 22:42

MrsHappy · 16/10/2008 16:43

Poor Caitni. It's awful when real life and ttc angst collide. But look, the other people on the email won't have any idea that you've been trying (well, some of them might guess but I think you'd be surprised how many experience delays and problems conceiving themselves. I'm finding more and more that people do understand...). It'll be ok. And as far as the goes, we all experience that as you well know. I am fully expecting to give birth to a small yelping green eyed monster any day now. I do know how you feel, though, when it is somehow extra personal. Next month is when my first ectopic should have been due and I am not looking forward to that one bit. I might just stay in bed with my fingers in my ears going "la la la la" through November.

Caitni · 16/10/2008 15:28

Sorry for the mega post btw. Just wanted to add that I don't want any of our graduates to think I harbour dark thoughts against all pregnant ladies! Far from it (mostly - must admit to being of all those "oh he just has to look at me and bam, I'm pregnant!" types! Which is tricky as it's what my own mum is like...I'm not kidding btw - she had 11 pregnancies - 6 children, 5 M/Cs - in less than 10 years - that'll be Catholic Ireland in the 70s for you!). It's just this woman in particular and just because, in my mind, it's so wrapped up with my own feelings about not conceiving yet.

MrsH the chart gallery on FF makes for a pretty convincing argument that implantation dips can happen, but I know that's probably pretty anecdotal all the same. I'm still keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you xx

Caitni · 16/10/2008 15:15

RFN2 how annoying about your DH but good thing it didn't happen before ov . I find myself biting my tongue during my fertile days sometimes...the things we do!

MrsH oh the shagfest continues chez caitni, though my temp only rose a little today so hope I'm not late ov'ing this month as don't know how much more bd-ing I can face . I'm with Mibbes - I hope the temp is an implantation dip. I know it sounds trite but it ain't over til AF shows...though know what you mean about the sore (.)(.), I get these every month without fail yet still use them to convince myself I'm pregnant!

Mibbes & JollyBear - god, time is flying! I'm so excited for you both, can't wait to virtually meet your little babies when they show up. I was laughing at the idea of a race to the finish line

MOB hope the baseline scan shows that you can start the injections. I know I keep saying this, but it's so freakin' exciting to be with you (albeit virtually) at this time xx

Ei hope things are going OK with you and your DH xx

PnM is your DH still on cloud nine about his super swimmers?

Hi to Bucky JG 07MTW and everyone else.

I've just had a horrible/annoying experience. Back in Jan, when we'd literally just started ttc-ing, a good but distant friend asked me outright if we were ttc. I said, sheepishly, that we'd just decided to and she was thrilled - we got married within a week of each other and they'd also just decided to ttc. I don't see her hugely often, but have always liked her. So of course she got preggers really quickly (I think she's at the same stage as Mibbes in fact!) and I was just gutted when I found out she was pregnant. I was so envious and upset, as I got the news the day my AF arrived (when I had truly convinced myself that I was pregnant at last). It was horrible timing (also had to take a law exam that day - I still shudder at the memory!). Twas the reason I joined MN in fact, I needed some support from someone other than my DH. Anyway, a few of us are trying to arrange a time to meet up over email and I've been so bad, I just don't really want to see her all pregnant and happy, like a totally visible reminder that no, I'm not in fact pregnant yet . So I avoid responding for a few days, then email with a spurious reason for the delay. I specifically say to her that time's been flying for me, so I bet it's even worse for her. So she only bloody replies all and says "aha! By your cryptic message I bet you're pregnant!!".

I was so mortified, had to do a "gosh no, no bun in the oven here ha ha" type response, as really don't want to get into it with that group of friends. She then emails back, again to everyone, saying "ah well, am sure you will be soon but I must tell you pregnancy is rubbish" with a list of all her ailments (some of which do sound terrible, in fairness to her). Gah! I know I'm ranting but I am a) so annoyed she's been so indiscreet in front that the 5 other women on that email thread and b) so jealous of her that it makes me feel like a terrible person...OK, rant over!

MrsHappy · 16/10/2008 15:12

Thanks Mibbes. As you might expect I have done a lot of research on implantation dips this morning and am not too sure they really exist! Although unless my temp bounces back up I will actually have a non-implantation slump on my hands...

I can't believe you are 33 weeks already. How exciting. And how nice to have only 3 weeks to go at work. I bet you can't wait for all that lovely spare time [sigh] (before sprog comes, of course).

mibbes · 16/10/2008 13:26

MOB great news that you are nearly at the 'proper' IVF bit, how exciting ! I'll be watching with interest

Bucky if you're lurking 'Hi hun' xx

Ei so sorry to hear about your DH's job - {{{big hugs}}} xx

Happy I really hope the dip is an implantation dip and the cramps are stretching pains - fingers crossed for you. I know you are not hopeful but you never know...

I am now 33 weeks - waaahhhh ! Only 3 weeks left to work , it is all getting very real. I'll race you to the finish line JB, I've got a wee headstart

MrsHappy · 16/10/2008 11:38

Hello Ladies

MOB it's really interesting to read about your IVF process. I have everything crossed that it works out for you and Mr MOB. It's just incredible to think that only 30 years ago none of this technology was considered anything other then highly experimental and now it is positively mainstream!

Higs to the rest of you. Bucky I hope you are all lurking lots even if you don't have much to say

No good news from me. My temp has dipped and I am cramping (10dpo) so I think that my period is on its way (I did a test and got a BFN too). It's not really surprising (I am generally quite sure about which side I ov on - I get cramps for over a day and whenever I have been pregnant and been scanned they've spotted an ovarian cyst on the side on which I thought I ovulated), so I am going to have to look on this month as practice! That doesn't explain why my boobs are so terribly painful, though. Maybe I just have to write down that sore breasts is not a symptom for me so that I remember it next cycle...

Madoldbird · 16/10/2008 11:07

Morning everyone

Bucky good to hear from you. Of course we are still thinking of you! Look forward to hearing of more of your antics

MrsH So many symptoms! I agree with Caitni - no reason to suspect the remaining tube is bad. Also, it's very difficult to know for sure which side you ov on - apparently the pain can often be on the opposite side to the one where the egg is released (don't know why). Just keep on sharing your symptoms with us - and pass round those choc will you?! (Oh, and how are the scabs today?)

Caitni Did your temp rise this morning? If not, keep at it!

RFN2 Have you and DH made up yet? I think he should take you out for a lovely meal to get back in your good books!

JB 30 weeks, wow! It really isn't far off now, is it? I'm really excited for you.

Big hellos to JG (missing you ), PnM, EI, MTW (how's that gorgeous Freya?) Mibbes, hatty

Well, it was the last pill yesterday, so i am now just waiting to have a bit of a bleed over the next few days, then it's my baseline scan on Monday! All being well, i will then start injecting myself after that. It's almost at the IVF "proper" now

readyfornum2 · 16/10/2008 06:52

mrshappy lol at brilliantly timed arguement, I can actually imagine myself biting my tongue over the next few months if he starts during peak bding time

MrsHappy · 15/10/2008 21:22

Jollybear You're nearly at the finish line! Not far to go until I am a cyber auntie to a cub. Huzzah!

RFN2 it sounds like you ahve timed that argument brilliantly. It's the kind of thing I think, sometimes "I'm pissed off with my DH, but I'll pretend I am not until after the sex" . Twisted? moi?

Caitni If you're reading this and it is not yet Friday you are not doing what you should be. Get back to it woman!

MOB are you happy to be pill free?

Higs to PnM, Lurkingbucky, vanishedJG, Ei and our pregnant ladies.

My left nork huuuurts and I have mild cramps. But really I am being silly; I am not lucky enough to get pregnant with any ease at all. Although someone sent be a box of chocs yesterday, so maybe I am a bit lucky

JollyBear · 15/10/2008 15:55

Hello ladies,

Great news about your DH's super sperm P&M . The doctor you saw sounds lovely and much more clued up about fertility than most GPs. I really, really hope that this treatment works and you have to cancel that referral!

bucky Nice to see that you are keeping an eye on us. Miss you.

caitni Your DH sounds very keen! Good luck I hope your egg does go today as that would be very well timed bd'ing.

MOB It sounds like you are going to be pleased to be stopping the pill - it sure sounds uncomfortable. What is the next stage?

ei I'm really sorry to hear about your DH's job. I hope he gets something else sorted soon

MrsH Symptoms are sent to drive the 2ww'er mad! I've got everything crossed for you.

ready How frustrating for you! As you say at least you don't need him for bd'ing at the moment. Men eh?

I hope everything is well with you JG. Get your internet sorted, we miss you and tales of your exciting adventures.

Jollycub and I are fine . I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. It only feels like 5 minutes since I was symptom spotting and I'm 30 weeks on Friday - eek!

readyfornum2 · 15/10/2008 15:26

Hi all hope you are all well x

Well its 3dpo for me and I am trying not to symptom spot just yet

Its a good job the bding is done for the month because dp and I have fallen out!!
He has bought a new computer monitor for £300 without telling/asking me and I am fuming!
This is the man that is forever telling me we cant afford a meal out but when he wants a new gadget (usually something we already have but an updated and overpriced version!) He suddenly has the money!!]

Keeping my fingers crossed for a few bfps from you all this month

Caitni · 15/10/2008 15:08

MrsH you're no thread killer! I've just had such a hectic morning that this is the first I've been on MN all day. I don't agree that your left tube is duff just because you ov'd on that side and then had the EP in the other tube btw. The other tube was definitely bad (well, bad enough to have been the site of the first EP iykwim) and that didn't stop an egg from travelling down it. It seems from my reading up that no one's sure why eggs travel from one ovary to the opposite tube (other than when the tube on that side is missing of course) but I've not seen anywhere that says it's because the tube is bad. Now that the duff tube's gone, there's every likelihood that you'll have a BFP and a healthy pregnancy before too long . And sounds like you've got some great symptoms . I know it's early days but I'd love if you were pregnant again - we need some BFPs around here and it would be great if you could start a rush of them!

Ei I'm so sorry to hear about your DH - it must be so stressful. Fingers crossed he finds something soon xx

MOB so last pill today - yay! Hope the, er, dryness stops soon

Bucky glad you're doing well honey - you're off to NYC soon aren't you? Not that I'm or anything...

Hi to everyone else PnM RFN2 JG and all the pregnant ladies (and mums of new babies DigiG and 07MTW )

No real news from me - I'm due to ovulate today and we've been bd-ing every day since Saturday (with more planned for tonight and tomorrow). Off to dinner with some friends tonight and me and DH's plan is to not stay too late so we can head back to Brighton for another shagfest! Hope my temp rises tomorrow so I can start the tww (aka the gradual descent into symptom spotting madness!).
Caitni
xx
