Yes a new thread is a good idea. This one has no been too lucky for some of us. A new one is bound to be better .

Been to the chemist yet. Bucky?
What about you Ei?
And Caitni - did your period show or are you still hoping?

HappyandEiknowit · 18/11/2008 23:01

good idea bucky a lovely idea to start the new thread with a BFP you should wait until tomorrow morning though and announce your BFP there too
xx ei xx

Bucky2008 · 18/11/2008 22:11

Shall I start us a nice new thread to go with MOBs nice new bean .

What shall I call it? Are we still going to be the WIMBEWAI(N)Fers?

mibbes · 18/11/2008 21:51

OMG Bucky that sounds good... am soooo hoping this is your month.

MOB am absolutely at that nosey cow asking those questions, how insensitive ! Do you think she asks people coming in for condoms about their sex life - what a silly bint !

Caitni glad my chart has helped you. I have to say your symptoms sound very promising - if spotting has gone and lots of CM then that sounds just like what happened to me.... I don't want to get your hopes up too much but if no more spotting tomorrow I'd defo be testing... good luck !

MrsHappy · 18/11/2008 21:07

Bucky, you are making me cross now. Go to Tesco and get a test FGS!

3 days late - yes it could be!

Caitni · 18/11/2008 21:06

Bucky that is such good news about AF not showing! I wish I could magic a HPT over to you. I'm getting quietly excited for you and will keep my fingers crossed that your body's not just acting weird!

MOB I cannot believe the pharmacy woman said that. I'm so shocked by it! Though proud of you for responding honestly, should teach her to keep her mouth shut and respect her customers' privacy!! Hope you're still POAS regularly, as seeing that nice strong line come up must be wonderful! It's money well spent for the piece of mind

MrsH Glad to hear the HSG is booked and even more glad that you can get to see your consultant so soon after it. And I know what you mean about feeling down with Christmas looming . We will get there eventually, it's just painful that it's taking so long [sigh]. I'm not actually late yet btw. Tomorrow is the day FF recommends testing, as AF is due overnight. Am comedy knicker-checking and boob-prodding though, to see if she's on her way. Taking my temp tomorrow should tell me one way or the other (as you know, it's the joy/pain of bbt - you just can't fool yourself when your temp plummets right down).

And to Ei (any more tests young lady ) and PnM and Mibbes and JB and RFN2 and everyone.

Bucky2008 · 18/11/2008 20:20

I am 3 days late now . Do you think it actually could be? No, I have to stop myself thinking it....

OP posts:
Bucky2008 · 18/11/2008 20:17

Are you KIDDING me MOB ....have people gone COMPLETELY insane??? Why would you do that? Why would you ask somebody something like that? I am dumbfounded.

And this is the point you all kill me....

So, I got really bad cramps when I went up for my course. Thinking 'ah AF is here' I put in a tampon and forgot all about it. Well, when its up there you don't know what is going on do you? so I assumed what with the ongoing ache that she was doing her thing. So I came home like normal and went to change the tampon and she is NOT here!!! . AND I have no test!!!! I didn't think I needed one anymore!

I haven't mentioned anything to DP yet. I don't want to get his hopes up. I still think she will show up and my body is just doing weird shit.

Caitni honeybunny, I forgot to give you a shout out the other day . So sorry you were sad. When we all get our BFPs we will have travelled an epic journey together!

So, on tomorrow. I WILL get one on the way to work....I promise, as long as she is not here by then!

OP posts:
MrsHappy · 18/11/2008 20:12

LOL at the dozy pharmacy woman, MOB. I often get some funny looks when I go in to buy HPTs and tampons at the same time but fortunately people ahve the good sense to stay quiet...

Any news Bucky? Caitni let me get this straight - you've had a bit of spotting, and now you have creamy CM but AF hasn't shown up? Are you late yet? I think that all sounds promising...

I am still cross, but pizza and beer are about to make me feel better. I can't believe I have just had a 27 day cycle - I used to always be 32 days. At least my chances are coming more often these days I suppose.

The HSG is booked for a week on Thursday. I am nervous and hope it does not hurt too much since I am going alone and will be going back to work afterwards. I've also managed to book in to see my consultant on the following Monday so with any luck we'll be in a position to make a sensible decision about how to go forward then. I don't feel like I can take too much more of this to be honest. I remember last christmas feeling terribly down that I had not yet conceived (after 6 mo) and thinking that by christmas 2008 I would have my baby, or at least be very pg, and here I am being lapped by friends... Sorry to be so down, but I am finding it hard to pick myself up today.

Anyway, hopefully Bucky will have some good news with which to cheer me up! And Ei - I hope those ghost lines turn into bright pink ones in short order.

Madoldbird · 18/11/2008 19:59

Bucky Well? Hope you have managed to get to a shop by now!

MrsH Oh bum. Hope you are having a big drink tonight. Get that hsg booked, then if that tube is blocked then you can make decisions about IVF (which i would thoroughly recommend )

Caitni Glad to hear you sounding a little perkier. I got a bit confused at first as to how spotting & pumpkins were linked Creamy CM is sounding good (IYSWIM) It's not over for you yet this month...

Mibbes I remember that well - you getting all that spotting, particularly just before your BFP cycle - weren't you about to book yourself in for blood tests? Crumbs, doesn't time fly!

I had an "interesting" situation earlier. I popped out to get some more hpts, madness i know but i am still testing at least once a day, just to reassure myself (we'll be bankrupt soon) and i went into superdrug who had packs of 2 of their own brand tests on offer, so i got 2 packs and took them to the checkout. The woman looked at me and said "why are you buying so many, don't you think you are?" (infront of loads of people in the queue) I said "actually i know i am, but i want to keep testing to reassure myself". She then said "have you lost one before then, is that why you keep testing?" At this point i can't actually believe that we are having this conversation, so i said "no, i haven't lost one, but it's taken us quite a long time to get to this point, i have just had ivf and i am a little anxious" I thought i might as well tell it as it is At this she looked rather flustered and said "oh, i completely understand" (no you don't you silly cow) "good luck". How can people be so insensitive as to ask WHY you are buying pregnancy tests?????? Hopefully she's learnt to keep her mouth shut.

Caitni · 18/11/2008 17:29

oh Mibbes thank you so much! It's so good to see your chart too . And even better to know that spotting pre-AF is not automatic doom!! The curses of google eh? (Another TMI alert) I've got lots of creamy CM at the moment, and not a trace of spotting, so am now fervently hoping AF stays away....

Bucky hope you can get theeself to a computer soon young lady. I'm itching to know how things are with you .

mibbes · 18/11/2008 16:53

Caitni there is no such thing as TMI on this thread missus ! I used to have spotting for 5-6 days prior to AF every month. I had googled it so much and convinced myself there was something terrible wrong then after 4 cycles BFP ! I have dug out my BFP chart so that you can see what happened - my spotting only lasted for 3 days and was actually a little heavier than usual then stopped altogether (it was usually followed immediately by AF). My BFP was several days afterwards so as long as no AF there is hope. I really hope this helps you. mibbes BFP chart . If you are not familiar with FF charts let me know and I'll explain

Caitni · 18/11/2008 15:44

Hi ladies

Firstly, thanks to all for your kind messages after Sunday, when I was feeling very blue...I don't know what I'd do without you all!

MrsH I'm so sorry AF arrived and to you. Life can be so unfair. Take care of yourself. And with the HSG definitely follow PnM's doctor's advice. My sister-in-law had an HSG after two years of fruitless ttc (not even a miscarriage) and conceived that cycle. My niece, now 17 months, is definitely none the worse for any radiation or whatever your doc was muttering about. In fact, I thought that was why they scheduled HSGs for the early part of the cycle so that you can continue to ttc. She told me that her consultant said that the dye can smooth out tiny imperfections that can hinder things, which was why anecdotal evidence points to women being more fertile after one...

Bucky I'm drumming my fingers here for some testing news from you! I'm [cautiously] excited on your behalf - let's hope the law of pregnativity works!!

Ei how frustrating for you with a ghost line, but I'm also getting [cautiously] excited for you!! I agree with MOB though, as a line's a line so is it worth ringing your consultant's office for advice? I'm going to be keeping my fingers and toes crossed that you get a nice strong BFP soon and your consultant does every thing he can to make this bean stick xxx

MOB you must never feel bad/awkward about posting about your pregnancy (has it fully sunk in yet?? ). You've been such a pillar of support to each and everyone of us on this thread, and we're all sooooooo happy for you that if you want to do stream of consciousness posts about every twinge of your pregnancy then we're here for you. I still just grin whenever I think about your BFP . I hope the days fly til 10 December!!

PnM sorry to hear you're feeling a bit down too, this ttc thing is such a pain...why can't our bodies just work?? But I think the HSG is a great next step (because of my sister-in-law) and I'd actually like one myself to see what's going on with my tubes . Don't usually say this, but hope that AF shows soon so you can get the HSG out of the way!

RFN2 I'm glad to hear that things are working out for you and that you're getting the help you need from the GP. Take care of yourself

JB thanks for your kind words. I must admit that hearing that Mibbes had spotting and then got a BFP is very heartening!

Mibbes hope you're taking care of yourself! After what JB said, I just wanted to ask whether you had regular spotting before your AF? Feel free not to answer if TMI, but I'm thinking I need to talk to my GP or a gyn about it as it's starting to really get to me having a day or two (or three) of spotting each month...

I'm feeling better than I was on Sunday, I suppose the only "advantage" of spotting is that i get my sadness at AF coming out of the way early...I was so so tempted to join the POASathon that went on here today but I'm pretty convinced this month I'm out (so didn't pee on a single stick this month - getting a BFN may have tipped me over the edge!). Since I'm now 12 dpo, I'm expecting AF to arrive tonight/first thing tomorrow. Annoyingly, my spotting entirely stopped yesterday morning (which means there is still a teeny tiny flicker of hope alive in me - tragic!!). On the good news front, I've managed to track down canned pumpkin and shall have the perfect excuse to go to John Lewis Oxford Street after work this evening to buy it from Waitrose (bet the christmas lights on Oxford make me feel all festive ). My sister is also married to a yank, so they're all coming over to ours for a Thanksgiving meal this Saturday (and my mum's over from Ireland too). Making pumpkin pie with fresh pumpkin takes forever, so I'm so glad that the canned pumpkin will save me time (and still taste just as nice ).

MrsHappy · 18/11/2008 11:22

No, am deffo out, Bucky. TEW just reared her ugly head.
Am really quite pissed off this time.

I'm worried about the HSG and am almost hoping that it will show my left tube as blocked. At least that way we can stop messing around and go straight for IVF...

Bucky2008 · 18/11/2008 09:53

I had to meet someone at bleedin 8am so didn't get to Boots! I am late for my course now and generally rushing around like a lunatic. Still no sign of AF though.... I promise...I will buy one later.

Sorry MrsH, but it could be too early you did say she was due today...

See you later...

MrsHappy · 18/11/2008 09:26

How frustrating Ei. I hope you get a good strong line in a couple of days.

Bucky any news?

PnM the doctor said not to try and muttered something about radiation, but he seemed a bit surprised to have been asked. TBH it is not something I have heard before and lots of doctors seem to advise people to really go for it after the test. I do not want to stop trying so I suspect my DH and I may well be following your doctor's advice on this score - especially as I will schedule it for well before ovulation!

mibbes · 18/11/2008 09:03

Ei very frustrating getting a ghost line, I know that a line is a line but given your recent history I can understand why you are not getting excited. Very wise waiting for a few days.

MrsH so it was BFN, your chart looked so good. Temping can be very frustrating when it leads you on like that

PnM sorry you got BFN too but don't give up, if you don't know where you are in your cycle then maybe too early...?

Bucky did you get a chance to test ?

Madoldbird · 18/11/2008 08:39

EI How frustrating, having that ghost line. You are very wise to hold off testing again for a few days. I'm just wondering though, as a "line is a line" and all that - is it worth getting in touch with the consultant to discuss whether you should start the necessary medication now, just in case?? Just a thought - feel free to tell me to mind my own business!

MrsH Can't believe it was a BFN. Look after yourself today. Hopefully you can get the hsg done this cycle and get that tube checked. Am gutted for you, hope you are ok as you can be at this point. Life's just not fair, is it?

PnM for you too. Getting a BFN is never nice. As with MrsH - roll on that hsg. In which case i hope you get your period as soon as possible, so you can get on and book it. Hope you are ok as well.

BUCKY!!!!!!! Any news???? You'd better get to a pc before the training starts

HappyandEiknowit · 18/11/2008 08:16

morning ladies
mrsH sorry about your BFN but all is not yet lost as you know its not over til the red witch arrives
i tested this morning again and the ghost-line was there again so im gonna leave off testing until thur/fri if af hasnt arrived by then
good luck bucky
xx ei xx

PicknMix · 18/11/2008 08:16

Awww MrsH, boo to a bfn . And I had such a good feeling for you this month. Have you been told not to ttc before the hsg then? Only ask because they told me to just keep trying, as the hsg is performed 8 days after the first day of your period to ensure there's no pregnancy that might get 'flushed' away. I may have misunderstood though! It'll be good to have an hsg partner though. Big higs xx

Any other testers yet?? Ei you dark horse, am excited for you!

Oh, and I did join in the testing this morning and naturally it was a bfn... Took me ages to find a test though, sign of how things have changed, tests used to have pride of place at front of top bedside drawer, now they're stuffed to the back of the bottom drawer.

MrsHappy · 18/11/2008 07:41

Just checking in to see if anyone is reporting a BFP.

I got a BFN this morning, and my temp is on the way down. I was rather hoping I wouldn't need to buy any more pre-conception vitamins (one would think that 18 months was enough), do that nasty sounding HSG or keep on trying, but never mind. Oh, and we won't be allowed to try this month because of the HSG .

Lots of luck Ei and Bucky and anyone else peeing this morning! Still hoping for a hat-trick.

HappyandEiknowit · 17/11/2008 23:44

hi ladies
wowee its all go on here with the poas-athon (with me included)
bucky how excellent would it be if you got a BFP now good luck testing tomorrow and dont forget to let us know how you get on
mrsH are you testing tomorrow?? i caved and tested tonight and i think there was the faintest of faint lines there and i could see it after about 2 mins so who knows i have another test left which i will use tomorrow morning with FMU if AF doesnt arrive in the night good luck
hello to everyone else
xx ei xx

PicknMix · 17/11/2008 22:35

Typos are definitely a symptom Bucky You best get back on here before you go into your course tomorrow morning!!

Same goes for the rest of you if you're testing tomorrow

I think I might have a sympathy POAS just to feel part of the gang, I'm sure I can find an eBay cheapie around here somewhere.... Oh, and at a sponsored POASathon, I reckon we could raise a fortune!!!

I will indeed be having the HSG on my next cycle MOB, have to have it on CD8 so have to ring them on CD1 and hope that CD8 doesn't fall on a day when I can't get away from work! Although, as I said before, my personnel manager is more than understanding (he even knew and used the word 'period' and that the HSG took place on the 8th day of your cycle !) so should be able to sort something out.

Bucky2008 · 17/11/2008 20:33

that should have been 'may we have a hat trick...'. Ooh typos Is that a symptom?
