Morning sickness five days before af due?

babytime · 05/07/2008 11:11

Hello

I am due on in five days time but Dh had sex i think on day 7 and 17 of cycle. We have now decided that to just have full sex and If I fall pregnant I do - YIPPEE!!!!!

I know the average ovulation time is 14 days and that sperm can live up to 3 days so I could be pregnant right?

For the last four days I have the funny taste in mouth and real moments of that familiar sickness feeling.

With my first pregnancy I had sickness just around 11am each day from 8 weeks - 12 weeks

Second pregnancy was hell and from 6 weeks felt green for 24 hours until 16 weeks!!!

So surely this can not be morning sickness five days before I am even due on right?

I am also weeing lots and feeling tired.

I would be so happy of I was so the next five days are going to drag for me.

What do you think?

Morning sickness or madness???

I'm having the 21 day test because the last one suggested I hadn't ovulated, this was pre-fertility monitor which says I am and also pre-scan (I had one last month for another issue and they could see I was ovulating) so although I know I am ovulating I just want the test done again to be sure. Am going to have to move it a bit though as I was almost a week late.

I have been taking vitamin E and B6/Complex for the last 6 months but not in high doses. Am thinking my period was probably delayed from the excitement of being at Glastonbury Festival.

Anyhow - I am now in month ten, I am 38 now and my Doctor has suggested my OH get tested (His first appointment is on Friday) before we go forward for more tests beyond the blood tests.

My doctor seems to think my short LP is nothing to worry about and that as my periods are regular and seem to have settled since I came off the pill(Ie they are not massively heavy) I shouldn't be having any problem, so we'll see.

Apparently I am too old for Free IVF.

Am just hoping it's not a problem with my OH's sperm (He's younger than I am!) but if it is at least we'll know and be able to try and sort it out.

Babytime - first Wee is what they all say - it is best. Good luck!

Teuch · 07/07/2008 11:35

Sorry, I see now you have been down that road and apologies if I seem like I am teaching granny to suck eggs!

babytime · 07/07/2008 11:29

sorry to hear that beaniesteve - well good luck with it all.

i have just come back from the shop with two digital clear blue tests but it the instructions say if testing before due date then it needs to be fist wee of the day - annoying!!!

its three days before for me so its 82% accurate app!

ah well now i have to get through 24 hours!

i still feel queasy with horrible taste in my mouth but i also have started to feel my stomach churning like it does with period. i need to prepare myself for the BFN.

Teuch · 07/07/2008 11:15

Ach - I'm sorry to hear that. Is it you having the day 21 testing this month? Is that to investigate the short LP?

I have heard about Vitamin E helping to balance hormones and possibly lengthen LP - I'll see if I can find any info. Proper referral is obviously best option, but sometimes good to feel you are 'doing' something in meantime, eh?

beaniesteve · 07/07/2008 09:42

morning Teuch - got my period last night but thanks for the info

onto month ten for me, at least I know where I am at though!

Teuch · 07/07/2008 09:10

Well Beanie, unless you didn't actually ovulate after you got your peak (which is possible) then it looks good, since your LP should never vary by more than a day - the only variable is when you ovulate.

Did you keep monitoring to ensure there wasn't a later surge? I have everything crossed for you!! Lots of people have not had a +ve until up to 9 days late...

Baby - no, don't put your life on hold! Vodka binge, probably not...bike ride, definitely yes!!

babytime · 06/07/2008 17:41

Just went for short bike ride with dd and when I was riding up the hill I start thinking i should not be doing this.

I cant put my life on hold can I?

I rode my bike up to 4 months pregnant with other two pregnancies.

I'm driving myself mad here!

Teuch - I have a clearblue fertility monitor and I got my peak on CD 15 and fertility friend says I ovulated on CD16 (though not from temps, just from the fertility monitor and Ovulation tests), this is usual for me. Though my cycle is only 24 days, I ovulate fairly late in my cycle, I have a short luteal phase averaging around 10 days but often shorter and for the last 4 months (and in the past) I have got my period on or around 25 days. Am now on Day 29/30 and my longest cycle in the last 10 months has been 30 days (once).

The hopeful part of me says that maybe because I am only 13/14 DPO perhaps my HCG levels are just not very high, but as this did happen to me 5 months ago I am expectig the worst and for my period to just appear late sometime this week.

I was away in Glastonbury last weekend for 5 nights, camping and quite excited and out in the sun a lot, so perhaps all that has caused a delay.

I just wish I knew either way

Teuch · 06/07/2008 13:16

Beanie - you may have ovulated later, are you temping/OPK's?

Turnip - you, on the other hand, probably ovulated earlier, or just had a super-speedy fertilised egg that implanted very quickly!

babytime · 06/07/2008 11:36

Thats great, I hate this waiting phase especially if it is neg!!!

I like to hear these positive stories though

beaniesteve · 06/07/2008 10:21

I will have to wait another week at least before my doctor will give me a blood test. Although I do have one booked for 17th July for the 21 day test which I will now have to rearrange for at least a week later.

I'll just keep oon testing, or resisting testing if I can and will wait to see if my period shows up.

babytime · 06/07/2008 10:16

beanisteve - that is strange!!!

what dont you go for a blood test? that might show you.

fingers crossed!!!!!!!!

Well I would like to know more or less the opposite! Now on CD 29/30 when my cycle is usually 24 days and all I am getting is BFNs and barely any symptoms. Perhaps I am one of those women who get no symptoms at all and have no detectable HCG?

Dammit, I wish my period would just come now.

GYo · 05/07/2008 21:45

Hi All

Is being hot a common sign of being pregnant before AF?

I've really felt hot but cant tell if its weather or illness. So unlike me, am usually block of ice....

Thanks!

Teuch · 05/07/2008 20:52

everyone has different levels of pregnancy hormone, within parameters, and respond to it differently.

As far as I know, as soon as there is HcG in your bloodstream (which is sooner than it is evident in urine btw) you could start to feel symptoms.

Most people don't get symptoms so early, but 'most' is not everyone!

Dunno about leaky boobs though, as I had this a few months ago and wasn't pregnant - over a year since I stopped bf.

Good luck and I hope you get the outcome you want.

babytime · 05/07/2008 18:04

Hello beaniesteve - thats interesting, thanks! If my period does not arrive then that could be the reason.

Its funnt because on that website it states re: Morning Sickness:

"If you're lucky, morning sickness won't hit you until a few weeks after conception. (A lucky few escape it altogether.) But as early as a couple of days following conception, you may begin feeling nauseated and queasy. And not just in the morning, either -- pregnancy-related nausea can be a problem morning, noon, or night "

On mumsnet everyone always says that you would not experience sickness so early so the advice above goes against that.

I read earlier that nipples leaking can also be as a result of your brain releasing high levels of the hormone prolactin www.babycentre.co.uk/preconception/activelytrying/periodlateexpert/

babytime · 05/07/2008 17:49

eth37 - GOOD LUCK and let me know too. x

OP posts:
babytime · 05/07/2008 17:48

OOOPs also forgot to mention that one of the big reasons I think I am pregnant is for the last week my nipples have been leaking!!!

I noticed two little wet patches on my tshirt after my nipples were tingling.

They are tingling alot.

If I am not pregnant then I will go to the gp because I know yoru nipples should not do this normally.

Hi,
I am also 4 days befre AF due and have felt slightly nauseous (but not actually been sick) for the past 2 days, have been weeing lots and had weird 'tugging' sensations low in my abdomen. Have never been pg so don't know what toe xpect, but I haven't felt like thisbefore. If I'm not, i think I must have a bug or something! Good luck babytime, and keep posting x

babytime · 05/07/2008 17:43

monkeybumsmum - that makes me feel postive!!!

I desperately want another baby.

Saw a mum from my daughters school today who had a baby last week. The baby was not even with her and when I said congratulations I welled up - how embarassing

I dont know why but I just feel pregnant, maybe Im not and I am just going insane.

One things for sure - I need to fall pregnant soon before I lose it completely

OP posts:
monkeybumsmum · 05/07/2008 13:41

Babytime, you may not be mad. Whenever I have been pregnant I 'knew' about a week before getting a BFP. Felt a bit sick, bit hot and had a heavy tummy.

Good luck - hope you get the result you're after
