Hi All,

This is a difficult time for most women (and men) I think.

Certainly for me, I've waited a long time to get to this stage , having not met Mr Right until the age of 31. Now 34 and got married 2 months ago and now want to complete the family!

So, just started "trying" for a baby and due to my impatient nature, have already started using Ovulation Kits. (Probably not a good idea). I also did the Female Fertility Test and that seemed to have a good result aswell.

I was on Dianette for 8 years and came off of it 3 years ago. My cycles became regular again but every 5 weeks instead of 4. I had previously come off of the pill for 6 months and my cycles were regular, so I guess all this is a good sign.

Anyone else had similar experiences and fallen pregnant quickly? I know everyone's different but any good news stories help move us all along!! .

xx

Dawn some people are just assholes, ignore them. You'd be amazed at some of the comments we've had about our decsion to become gay parents which is why all your messages have been so lovely. As you said just breathe. Dawn how do i see your wedding pics?

Bonifacio · 07/08/2008 10:00

DawnAS · 07/08/2008 09:55

Hey All,

Well still no BDing for me. Slight spotting again yesterday but my symptoms are now like AF so not quite sure if the witch is arriving or still an end of the MC. Don't really mind if it's AF because it just means that my body has got itself together again very quickly which is good news!! Just would like to know one way or the other.

So we've decided to wait until the weekend anyway, at least my body would have decided what it's doing by then!!

B and Crunchy, you're so lucky!!

I was ready for little ones at 21, but unfortunately I wasn't in a stable relationship and I didn't want to take the risk of being a single-parent family years down the line. So I waited for Mr Right but unfortunately had to wait a very long time.

Because I've got quite a good job, everyone assumes that I wanted a career first and some have even suggested that it's my own fault if I don't have a baby! Nasty people, if only they knew how desperately I've wanted one for all these years!! Ggggrrrrr

Anyway - and breathe.....

bluestarlavender · 07/08/2008 09:42

B and Crunchy - you guys are making me feel very old!! But seriously, I admire both of you! I was still terrified of having small people at 30!

Saz - I'm sorry you feel that AF is on it's way!!! Are you okay? It's good you're being positive about cycle 2. But you never know, AF might not come {grin] I have my fingers crossed for you!

Summerbird - How's things on the AF front?? I hate it when AF does that and rears it's head again once you think it's all gone

MAF - Thanks for the tip on the zinc!

I think I am now on the 2WW...I hate this bit of TCC!

BSL x

Morning all

Welcome to a really supportive thread makingafamily. Your baby will be so lucky with all that family around and the support you will have will be great!

DH and I are both 30 and got married just over 5 years ago. We both wanted a family but have only recently decided that the time is right to start trying. I'm still on cycle 1 and AF is due at the weekend, and I really think she will turn up too as DH said last night that I was snappy. Oh well, fingers crossed she doesnt but if she does then another month of BDing to look forward too!!!

crunchynutter · 07/08/2008 08:55

LOL B you have now made me feel better again thank you! I still wish I lived somewhere nice and exotic like you! Is there much of an age gap between you and your DP? Mines 26 and it wasn't unitl the wedding he was ready for little ones! At 22/23 he was terrieifed by the idea! Xx

summerbird · 07/08/2008 08:33

You are right bonifacio just give it time, and take it gradually.

makingafamily that story about bio dad is hilarious! i can actually imagine my DH actually saying that to the GP!! Actually ours is almost six months too so i might get him off for the swimmers test!!

i am working from home today on a slow laptop so am keeping our home pc on MN page for catch ups!!

Bonifacio · 07/08/2008 04:03

Hey everyone! Wow I miss so much being in bed!! Crunchy do not fear I am here to make you feel old again! I'm 22! Oficially the youngest on our thread!!

Welcome MAF wow what a lucky thing your baby will be with all that family!! Though doesn't that make you in a way have 3 MIL's! I do not envy you that!!

Oooh and my baby is my 4 year old boxerdog!! She is the ugliest thing in the world and I love her!!

BD'd again this morning and still no bloody ejaculation, he used the excuse that he had a hot bath last night so had fried all is swimmers!! (shouldn't have let him read my book!!) Just when I thought he was starting to get over it all, maybe I need to gove him more time.

crunchynutter · 06/08/2008 21:18

LOL ok!I'm convinced! I will definitly get round to it! Didn't know about the zinc either! I'm taking pregnacare-won't hurt him to do something too! Lol! Xx

makingafamily · 06/08/2008 20:11

Crunchy. Just bite the bullet and ask, i know they tested my hormone levels and thats all okay. Im waiting for the appointment for an ultra-sound of my pelvis too. Our bio dad isn't out to his GP so went round there and told him he'd been trying to "knock the misses up for the last 6 months and its not happening" which if you new our bio dad you would see how funny that is and his GP referred his for a "swimmers" test and that came back all good I think its worth getting these things checked out if just for piece of mind

Also ladies, get your men on zinc

crunchynutter · 06/08/2008 19:58

Thanks-I kind of know im being silly but I get nervous discussing these things face to face!I think I will ask for an appointment when My blood tests are back instead of the usuall over the phone deal! I could do with an MOT though lol and nutrition advice would be fab! Xx

summerbird · 06/08/2008 19:51

crunchy i would just make an appointment and go tell him, i dropped my TTC into the conversation on another matter and my GP was all over the place with excitement, she gave me lots of good nutrition advice and some pamphlets, your doc should do the same and also maybe take your blood pressure etc just to check you out.

crunchynutter · 06/08/2008 19:47

makingafamilyI am thinking of discussing the whole thing with my doctor but haven't as of yet! I hope all goes well for you. I don't know if I should make an appointment just to tell him I want a baby if that makes sense? Maybe I can tell him I've got worms or some obscure 'I'm not sure If anythings wrong' problem to get in then casually drop TTC into the conversation LOL! Xx

makingafamily · 06/08/2008 19:45

yeah i got stuck with boobies in primary school Love them now though

crunchynutter · 06/08/2008 19:42

LOL I had that training bra problem hehe-my sister was a d cup at primary school and as if told you before I love nice inderwear and used to get jealous so I insider they took me to marks and spencers to be measured I wasn't even on the scale LOL think I was a 20aa and nothing would fit LOL will never forget the embarrasment! I was just a late developer though- I love my boobies now xx

makingafamily · 06/08/2008 19:36

BSL good luck with cycle 2

Ask away Dawn. Although my partner very much wants a family she has no desire to be pregnant which suits us really well as i do. Initially both the boys wanted to be bio daddy's and as we want more than one little one the idea was that A would go first as he's older. More recent discussions have been A being the bio daddy for all/any little ones we have so that they are full siblings. Doesnt really matter to me, as i know they will both be great dads and its actually 10 gradparents!!! lol

My GP has also referred me for lots of fertility/blood tests etc so she can make a referral to my local Fertility clinic, although hoping we won't need this. Has anyone else had this before starting TTC?

summerbird · 06/08/2008 19:32

Dawn of course you can be on cycle 2, it is all part and parcel of TTC, your MC was a very sad blip in the process.

crunchy and dawn i actually didnt fit into the training bras but wanted to feel grown up - i didnt actually fill a bra until i went on the pill at 17 then they just - ahem - sprang up! i remember the first time i realised i had 'assets' was when i was 18 and one of the lads in our 'gang' said to me 'are those tits real?'

at 18 that was a compliment - believe me!!!

DawnAS · 06/08/2008 19:20

Summerbird, you were lucky to be able to wear bloody training bras!! If I hadn't had the "op", I'd still be in one!!

Makingafamily, that sounds like a fab decision that you've come to and I'm with Summerbird in relation to babysitters and stuff. So, how have you decided who's actually going to carry the baby? (Sorry if I'm being nosy - we all ask lots of questions on here) - . I guess that's quite a decision to make.

Wow, 4 parents and 8 Grandparents - how cool is that?!

Hey Crunchy - can I pretend I didn't have a MC and say I'm on cycle two aswell please?! It may be cheating but it sounds so much nicer....

I hope B is feeling Ok today. She's probably asleep now!!
