Hi All,

This is a difficult time for most women (and men) I think.

Certainly for me, I've waited a long time to get to this stage , having not met Mr Right until the age of 31. Now 34 and got married 2 months ago and now want to complete the family!

So, just started "trying" for a baby and due to my impatient nature, have already started using Ovulation Kits. (Probably not a good idea). I also did the Female Fertility Test and that seemed to have a good result aswell.

I was on Dianette for 8 years and came off of it 3 years ago. My cycles became regular again but every 5 weeks instead of 4. I had previously come off of the pill for 6 months and my cycles were regular, so I guess all this is a good sign.

Anyone else had similar experiences and fallen pregnant quickly? I know everyone's different but any good news stories help move us all along!! .

xx

Hi Linwin, forgot to say Hi to you!! Hope your day has improved.

Lots of alcohol - I'm sure that's good for colds!! Well, that's my cure and I'm sticking to it!!

Not looking forward to that when I finally get PG - can't take any cold remedies - yuck!! I will be a nightmare! My DH may move out of home!!

Hey Crunchy,

I'm with you on the wine and choccy thing - although still don't have any wine in!!

Although I have just ordered a lush chinese takeaway for DH to pick up on his way home from work - yum yum!!

Anyway, after a conversation on another thread earlier, sounds like I'm a few days after OV now and no symptoms at all yet, so not very hopeful about getting a BFP this month - oh well - onwards and upwards!!

B, heard this morning (sorry guys back to names) that someone from one of the bands around at the time of Rolling Stones (I can see them - I just can't remember their name - the one that was on Coronation Street that time - the ones that have reformed) anyway, whatever! One of their wives has just given birth to twins and one of them is called Lily-Rose what about that name? I thought that sounded lovely and very similar to Emily Rose without the Horror Film theme!! Keep saying it to yourself and you'll start to like it I'm sure!!

I soooo need this weekend guys - yum yum - soooo need that Chinese too!!

You guys are making me feel fat he doc said im fine but i weigh more than all of you!! i am taking the 'eating for three' thing literally though (twins) and have been practising for quite a while! i used to be very tiny and very healthy until moving in with my hubby... hmm i seem to eat more and more..

Cold sore is also definatley stress- i have had to stay up late most nights this week either collating coursework or writing reports and i have to do 3 after school visits for work experience next week too- really had a horrible week and babies have actually been quite far from my mind im sad to say.. right now all im thinking is chocolate and wine..

i shall start the gym, diet, and baby making process much better next week once i have broken up from the hell hole!! xx

Bonifacio · 11/07/2008 11:34

Dawn I had my first class on Weds, and as painful as it may be I actually enjoy it! I'm really trying to lose a little weight (I'm 5ft 2 and 8st 4 which is in the healthy bracket but its the heaviest i've ever beein in my life) before we get pg as I want to get into a good routine that I will try to keep up while I am pg, because they say that you shouldn't start anything new while you are pg so i'm starting now! I really don't want to be one of those pg women who takes the "eating for two" part literally!! Plus being pg is hard work it won't hurt me to be in good shape for it! Not that i'm enjoying a single minute of it tho0ugh!! I'm trying to eat healthy too but f*ed that up last night by eating a whole tub of cookies and cream hagen daaz mmmmmmmmmm

So now I have got back from yoga....again, I am going to go and ged ready for a night on the beers (I haven't managed to give up drinking)

I used to have dogs in UK but since we moved here we never got any and it wouldn't be fair on them being 30 deg every day. I had boxers they were beautiful in the way only a mother could love!!

Linwin I mentioned to my DP last night that I didn't want to be all millitary about ttc and he actually laughed in my face donned a superhero voice and said "My name is Bonifacio and I have a mission to complete" then carried on laughing. I think we both know that I would make it millitary more so than him but was there any need for the voice!! I think its best to try and keep it light as long as possible otherwise they don't feel the intimate part anymore and just feel the babymaking part and don't look at you the same sexually anymore, thats my worry anyway!!

I'm actually looking forward to every other night maybe even every night!!!

Linwin · 11/07/2008 10:51

Morning everyone,

What a completely useless week on all fronts.

Went for work drinks last night and was feeling so tired and couldn't really face drinking. Was actually quite pleased as thought this might be a good sign (even though i know its way too early for such signs) until I woke up this morning with sore throat and rotten cold.

To make matters worse, TTC this week has gone nowhere fast, one of us was either out or too tired. DH out again tonight so feel like we've totally missed our chance for this month.

Was trying to be quite relaxed about the whole thing but thinking next month might have to go for the more scientific approach if this is going to happen any time soon!

DawnAS · 11/07/2008 09:38

Hey Flirty,

Missed you yesterday! But consider yourself banished anyway!!

Weekend soon though and on Sunday my DH is working so I'll probably be on here ALL DAY - how sad am I?!! You'll all log back in and there'll be loads of messages from me, to me!!

And obviously they'll all be telling myself that undoubtedly all my symptoms mean pregnancy, but not just that, TRIPLETS!!!

Speak soon!!

xx

Dawn - are you me?! Sadly I don't have a dog...or the extra 5inches to make me 5ft8, but otherwise, you seem to be inside mey head...?!

Now...I REALLY must work today ladies...if you see me on here again, please banish me. It's really for my own good!

Have a good one...

Flirty x

DawnAS · 11/07/2008 09:26

Oh B, I nearly spat my tea out after reading your latest message - envisaging Crunchy dunking a child in salty water!!

Ha ha ha !!

You guys are Yoga mad!!! I've never done Yoga actually, I tried Pilates once and I just giggled all the way through!! Very mature of me - NOT!!

Actually, I love dancing but other than that, I don't really like exercise. I walk my dog for about an hour during the day but that's about it....

I'm 5ft 8 and about 9st 5lbs so within my ideal weight, but if I'm not careful, I do put weight on around my hips and bum . I occasionally follow Weight Watchers, but only to maintain my weight as opposed to losing any. I know that Yoga is great for muscle tone and strength, but I'm just too lazy ...

Cruncy don't keep the child clean and dry or douse him in salt water!! I mean the cold sore!!

Also you know that stress is a major trigger of outbreaks, maybe all the BD talk.... I know its a bit of a stress topic in our household at the minute

Bonifacio · 11/07/2008 04:55

Hi Possyfossil welcome to the madness! I too am TTC#1 Cycle-1 CD15 (-1 because was supposed to start this time but do is away so will have to be noxt time )

Cruncy I agree with Dawns idea of caning the insoelnt child!! Really though how rude of him! Only thing I can suggest is keep it clean and dry, maybe use salt water.

My plans so far for this weekend are, dinner then party tonight, fincally convinced my DP that yoga would be good for him so we are both going tomorrow!! Its so good for you as its the type you do in a heated room so you just sweat! But he thinks its a bit feminine for him all that stretching s**t! But I convinced him!! The we are going to buy a new tennis raquet then go for a game then probably go out for dinner. Sunday we usually go out and have lunch and a few beers then go and sit by the pool but as its typhoon season I doubt that will be happening!!

DawnAS · 10/07/2008 19:37

Crunchy, if you can enjoy it every night, you're bloody lucky - ha ha! My DH may start writing to you....

Some people seem to get "those" feelings around OV time but I've never got that feeling, only when I've started seeing someone for the first time... Oh well! I guess it would be boring if we were all the same!

Hey PosyFossil,

We're all new on here, pretty much!

This is my first month trying for my first child! So definitely beginners! So Cycle 1, TTC#1. Currently on CD21 (cycle day) of a 35 day cycle...

I'm now in my first ever 2ww (2 week wait). If you want to know what all the acronyms are, there's a list under Useful Stuff at the top of the page . Some of them are a bit strange but you get used to them...

Hi Crunchynutter! Oh and I agree with Linwin - every other night, bloody hell!!

crunchynutter · 10/07/2008 19:30

hi posyfossil! welcome!

PosyFossil · 10/07/2008 19:28

Hello everyone, just had a quick read through - it's my first time TTC as well . . been off the pill since January and nothing yet but we haven't been really trying (if you know what I mean!) Time to start putting some effort in I think! Anyway I will go back and read the thread but just wanted to say hi!How long has everyone else been trying?

DawnAS · 10/07/2008 19:20

Hi there all,

Well Linwin, I wasn't that interested in it before which doesn't help... Never been particularly high on the old sex-drive. Much rather have a nice cup of tea - !!

What a cheeky sister, stealing your name!! As Crunchy said "think boy, think boy, think boy...."

So, this weekend, not many plans. DH is working on Sunday and in attempting to save money (hoping to buy a house before the end of the year) my Sunday's when he's at work consist of laying on the couch with my yellow labrador, Tilly, eating naughty food and watching chick flicks! . That's what I'll miss when we do have a DC!!

So Crunchy, why did they take away the cane in schools? You could have used that today for the boy's cheekiness!! (Bless...), I'm assuming he wasn't an innocent 5 year old?

Ho hum, feeling really fed up tonight. No reason why, just do. Really snapping at my poor puppy aswell, so DH has taken her out for a walk - hmmm, who can I shout at now?..

crunchynutter · 10/07/2008 18:43

ooohhh bad sister! thats the problem with families- you have to be careful you dont all have same names!! is she having a girl? lets keep our fingers crossed for a boy...

Linwin · 10/07/2008 18:37

Hi girls,

Looking forward to the weekend? What are everyones plans?

Just a comment on what DawnAS was saying about the whole BD'ing becoming routine. I definitely feel like its inevitable - I mean really.... every other night! Who normally does that? (rhetorical question only!)

Oh also, blooming cheek! I made the mistake of talking with my sister (who is almost 7 months pregnant) about baby names. My favourite girl's name is Clodagh. "Oh" she goes "I really really love that name....its sooo pretty" Stupid slip up on my behalf as according to Mum its now top of her shortlist!

crunchynutter · 10/07/2008 18:05

Hi all! your kind words are making me feel much better ( i was greeted by a boy in my form class today with 'Ms whats us with your face??) Charmed!

I don't get warnings they just appear scarilly quick! it's crazy one minute nothing and then the next a huge cold sore! Zovirax seems to make them angry too and blisteze only works occasionally- i kinda have to ride them out! Ah well, stress (and cold sore) should all be over next week!)

dawn dont turn ur love making into a chore!! you want to look back and smile and the thought of your babies conception! I go by the theory that if you do it lots and do it well your bound to have a happy child! try not to just work on dates- the pressure cant be good!

I too like the name Sadie- will run that past hubby- I agree with the film issue, every name you come across seems to remind you of somebody doesnt it? difficult working with 1500 children too haha i dont want my little angels to remind me of any of them! lol

Bonifacio · 10/07/2008 15:21

Of course not! It is a little long!

I just watched a film with a Sadie in it so thats where it came from. Will add it to the list and see how long it stays there!! My mums name hence if we have a daughter it will be her middle name. I am also thinking of having 2 middle names, sometimes its too hard to narrow them down to just 2!!

Devon, wow I love it down there we used to go every year for our family holiday! Always had such a great time. The coast was lovely, would love to go back someday maybe take my kids there! xx

DawnAS · 10/07/2008 13:09

Hey B,

Do you mind if I reduce your name to B - I have to keep going to the top of the thread to make sure that I spell it right!!

Sadie Rose is lovely!! Actually my Nan's name was Rosina but everyone called her Rose, so that name has always been close to my heart.

I'm now thinking Marissa Ellen Rose if we have a daughter - my DH has three names so I'm sure it'll be fine for our daughter to have 3 aswell!!

I'm right down in the South-West in Devon, so very wet here most of the time, although generally warmer than most areas!!

OP posts:
Bonifacio · 10/07/2008 12:55

Hmm, can't really use it then! Damn! How about Sadie Rose.... But you can't shorten it Ah well not like I have a deadline coming up soon!

Philippines is nice, weather is ok its monsoon season at the minute though so its raining and thundery. Not been a great year weatherwise actually!

Where in UK are you from?
xx

DawnAS · 10/07/2008 11:18

Hey Bonifacio,

Just googled it and the actually film itself was called "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" and was fairly recent, 2005. It was pretty grim I seem to recall . But then I guess the title would suggest that!!

I'm struggling to think of alternatives, what about "Emily Jane".

The Philippines, oh how lovely!! I've never been there but imagine that it's beautiful!!

What's the weather like over there today? It's been horrible here this week so far and is set to continue - a typical British summer...

xx

OP posts:
Bonifacio · 10/07/2008 09:52

Hey Dawn I'm glad your feeling a little better!! I agree that A watermelon breezer doesn;t measure up! Though sometimes any old alcohol will do!! How recent was the latest exorcist film? Maybe I could get away with it. I still like the name 2 days later which I think is a record!! So feminine and makes me think of a little girl, maybe not so good for an adult but then its her problem!!

I'm still a little gutted that DP is away the week were due to start ttc maybe he planned it all along Have to wait till beginning of August now All you are BD'inf for a reason and i'm just doing it for fun
I do worry that it will seem like a chore and I think so does DP, maybe I should talk to him about that, hopefully we'll be able to make sure it doesn't. Plus hopefully first time I We won't be obsessing about it!!

I'm in the Philippines Dawn, lovely place. Just off to yoga again now. Hope your having a good day!! xx

DawnAS · 10/07/2008 08:19

Hey Bonifacio,

Thanks for your words to cheer me up, to be honest I was still feeling a bit fed-up when I woke up today, but now I'm feeling much better!!

It's a shame about the names because "Emily Rose" sounds so lovely. Damn those film-makers!!

Crunchy - how's the coldsore today? Do you ever get the tingling feeling in time to put something on it before it develops? My friend uses that Zovirax and swears by it!!

Hey Flirty, how are you today? Well I didn't have any wine in last night and didn't really feel that a "Watermelon Bacardi Breezer" would do the trick... So I made DH make pancakes instead!! After two baby ones I felt sick though so not sure that was the best idea - !!

Soooo anyway, didn't really feel like BDing but if my cramps and dates were right, last night we needed to so we did. But it's already feeling like a chore, for DH and myself I think which is a shame . Hopefully I'll fall fairly quickly because I don't necessarily think it promotes a healthy relationship.....

Finished up the night by watching "Cold Mountain". What depressing film that was!!! I couldn't believe all the blood and gore!! And it was soooo long. I can understand why it was recommended for Oscars though. The acting was very good.

So what did all you guys get up to? I wonder if Tartan's having a nice time in Thailand?

Bonafacio, where do you live?
